The place is a hidden gem that should really be better known. The store was clean, the staff was knowledgeable, answered all of my questions, and very friendly. Offered to take the products I was buying to the counter for me so I didnt have to hold it while shopping. It was also a breath of fresh air that an employee took the time out to unpack an expensive Helinox chair I was looking at purchasing, set it up for me and explained the differences of the other options. They also have a large selection of products. I have already made purchases on a few different occasions and will continue anytime I need anything else.

Excellent place for adventurers! They stock quality items at good prices and there is a little bit of everything. They also have some great shirts with local prints, such as the bay lighthouse (and Mardi Gras on occasion).

Excellent customer service!! Came in the other day with my wife and kids and everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. Was nice to talk to the young men about ski gear since no one in the area seems to sell any. Reminds us of an outdoor store back home in Utah! Grade A!

Great place! Was down a few weeks ago from michagin. First time in Alabama! First time in store. Back home I work in a place very similar. Right away a woman greeted us with yall and I new it was a great place. She was so nice, very helpful. Very good at what she does and it was evident that she loves the store. We stayed for an hour! Customer service is so important yet no one has it or teaches it anymore. really sets this place apart.i offered her a job,but she doesnt want to move to Michigan!so a big shout out to miss caroline! We will definitely be back! Great product great staff!

The staff are very helpful & look out for what is best for you. The store is very proactive & does not search for profit only. They visited my university & gave stickers that let you get a 15% discount on an item. For discounts, I got an $80 portable charge for only $40, & I got $35 poly shorts for $10. Their freeze-dried food is cheaper than the other outdoor stores, but their clothes are quite pricey. But, for every $200 you spend, you get a $10 gift card, which will be quite useful sometime in the future.

Want to give a shout out to Alabama outdoors. I went in to try on a pair of shoes. At first a young guy was helping me he came back and said he didnt have my size and left. I was leaving when a woman, petite, short blonde hair who also works there just happened to ask as i was leaving how is it possible you couldnt find anything today I told her they didnt have my size so i was going else where. She asked what i was looking for and then showed me several other options. She was wonderful, patient, funny, friendly..... she talked to me found out where i was going what i was doing i felt like she really cared. I left with 2 pairs of shoes and 2 complete outfits for my vacation! I hate shopping and she made it so easy. I have to admit i was a bit intimidated going in, but she knows my first name and i feel like family now. That is what every shopping experience should be. They say customer service is a thing of the past.... i found it, its a Alabama Outdoors! I wont shop anywhere else now, im a huge fan! She is a treasure and so good at what she does i wish i had gotten her first name so i could give her a shout out. Next time i go in i will . I have never had such a good shopping experience as this and its all because of her willingness to go out of her way to make me feel at home and special. Way to go Alabama outdoors you nailed it1

Staff was very helpful and friendly. They have a good military discount, so I was able to get my hammock cheaper here than online.

Went in looking for a northface rain coat three people standing by the cash register two went to the back . Had to go and ask for help acted like she she didnt have time to be bothered. Look like she was shopping for herself. Will not waste my money there.

Very knowledgeable staff and friendly!

I came by 2/21/19 @ 1:30pm. The girl did not help me. I was wanting either a Patagonia or north face rain jacket and had to find the cashier girl to help. She wasnt helpful and the other 2 workers went off to the back. The girl was on her cell phone and we were the only ones in the store. Im going to Dillards or elsewhere to get my rain jacket.
