Lovely place to enjoy drinks! The staff is always friendly, and their chai is delicious. Before the events of 2020, I would come and sit in the shop during the school year to enjoy tea, snacks, and work on writing. With their to-go window now, it makes it easy to get a drink without risking any sort of sickness!

I have mixed feelings about Cafe Artista. It has far and away the best lounge of any shop in Moscow and Pullman - not even One World or Daily Grind (RIP) can compete. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is accepting - a safe haven *from* kirkers, not *for* kirkers (Im looking at you Bucers). Like One World, it has two excellent vistas for people watching. So why am I giving this place 3 stars instead of 5 stars?Ive lived in Moscow for 6 years and make it a point to visit each coffeehouse/shack/franchise on a roughly quarterly basis - I like being up to date on whos got the best drip and draw around. And in all that time, I dont know if Ive ever been satisfied by the coffee here. Whether its a latte, cappuccino, macchiato, or a mocha, its always bitter and dry - trademarks of overdrawn esspresso.Cafe Artista has so much going for them. If they fixed the café in their cafe, theyd blow the competition out of the water.

Bev, Lisa, and the staff at Cafe Artista are so wonderful! All the precautions they have put in place during the pandemic have made me as a customer feel like their top priority. I love that I can feel safe and I can snag all my favorite drinks and snacks, either sitting safely distanced inside, or through their outside ordering window. Between the tasty sun dried tomato scones and breakfast burritos, or the cookies and cinnamon rolls, there is a tasty treat for whatever mood you are in, and they pair so well with Kamiak Coffee!Next time you’re in Moscow, stop by and try a Golden Milk Latte or a Cold Brew with Orange, White Chocolate, and Cream- you won’t be disappointed 😉

Café Artista is a cozy, welcoming place where coffee and art meet. A true example for small business, Café Artista is family-run by Bev and Lisa Bafus. Not only do they serve locally-roasted coffee, they also make most of their pastries and food items in-house and with love. Their breakfast sandwiches are made from scratch and held between utterly delicious, wonderfully flaky biscuits from a recipe passed down from Lisa’s great-great-grandmother, Elizabeth Baer.Café Artista is not a cookie-cutter coffee shop. Its a place that wears their hearts on their sleeves. This is a lively place where community members, university students, and traveling folk converge to co-exist in a creative and welcoming space while enjoying a deliciously prepared cup (or two) of coffee. What makes Café Artista so special, besides their humble roots, is that they are a wonderful advocate for their community. They provide a space for local artists and craftspeople to publicly display their work and give them a place to sell their creations. Not only are they a strong source of local advocacy, they also use their platform as a small business to support causes that affect people regionally, nationwide, and globally. After a brief closure due to COVID, Café Artista opened back up for walk-up and curbside take-out. They’ve recently remodeled their interior space to further improve their dine-in experience while ensuring the comfort and safety of their customers. The food and drinks are some of my favorite in town, but the kindness of the folks over at Artista is 90% of why I continue to support their family business.

Their coffee is delish, their servers are kind and welcoming, there is plentiful seating....They have three couches. They have tables for study groups and tables for two people. They have a cushioned window seat. They have high-chaired seating as well. They have some light foods like cheese and herb scones, cookies, and bagels. They also have a microwave. They offer a suspended coffee system - you can choose to buy a suspended coffee, to be given to someone who cant afford one later on a first-come-first-serve basis. A person can come in and ask to see if there are any suspended coffees and benefit from someones generosity. In addition, there is a nice selection of games like checkers, chess, cribbage, as well as some other boardgames. The lighting is warm and the room is comforting. Windows look onto Main Street.

I remember when this location was Sisters Brew and it was hands down the best coffee place in town. I could spend hours there and always felt welcome. The atmosphere has completely changed and over the last year I have gone to Cafe Artista on several occasions hoping this visit would be better than the last. Unfortunately I have yet to be impressed. As far as selection goes, this place has an AMAZING selection of food and drink. However, where their selection is vast the prices are beyond steep and the quality is hit or miss. I understand that local businesses have higher costs than chains but when the cost for a dirty chai is over a dollar more expensive than any of the surrounding coffee shops, something is wrong. I bought two coffees last week and it was $12.00 before tip. Even Starbucks is not that expensive.I think the real killer for me though is the service. I have never had a good experience as far as customer service at this location. Some of the baristas are shy and thats not a problem, but on numerous occasions Ive come in to two baristas gossiping and have had to wait several seconds at the counter just for them to find a break in their conversation to order. No hello, no thank you, no cordial conversation, nothing and before I even finish paying they go back to gossiping over other co-workers or classmates where customers can hear. I have even had my workplace ridiculed to my face before they realized I worked there. I only even go to this location because I have a friend who has thankfully had better experiences than I have, and I like to treat her to coffee every now and then. There are some positives, past the customer service and how expensive it is, the atmosphere is nice and calm. This is a good place to study or just to relax and sip on a cup of joe. I love the featured artwork and crafts from local artists and craftsman. The meeting room is also a wonderful perk for professionals in the area and is easy to reserve. I wont give it a one star because I know others who have had better experiences, I do hope that the owner and management will take what Ive said into account though for the future.

Posted on yelp some time ago but have new info that warrants another review. First off, the coffee here is horrible. Espresso? What espresso? Gave them yet another chance and once again, their americano is the weakest I have ever had and certainly not worth the cost. Anyone who knows what espresso is supposed to taste like would agree. Not sure why theyre using Stumptown coffee for espresso because its not the right roast and should not be used for that purpose. Shocked that they still charge so much considering Ive heard from multiple sources that the business is not doing well. *****Note to anyone who is considering applying here: I had a friend work here earlier this year, she kept us updated on the business practices and why she quit immediately upon finding another job. She said that the owners did not treat their employees well and pay was poor. Apparently they would yell at employees if they forgot to clean something but when they, themselves, worked a closing shift they would leave the shop cleaning from the night before for the opening baristas to do. So be advised that the work environment is poor. Plenty of other fantastic shops in Moscow. Its too bad because the former Sisters Brew was my favorite coffee shop downtown.

Ju
Review №93

Delicious Stumptown coffee, dialed by trained baristas every morning with coffee that is roasted and delivered every week so every shot is delicious. Homemade pastries made by the owner herself. Youll feel good spending money at this shop as Stumptown is a direct trade business, cutting out the middle man to ensure every farmer they buy from gets a living wage. Also, keep an eye out on their Facebook page for days they give a percentage of their earnings to a worthy charity. The last organization they chose to give a portion of their proceeds to was the Hispanic Federation for disaster relief in Puerto Rico. The owners are a genuinely fantastic family that adds to the fantastic local businesses Moscow has to offer. As for the last few reviews complaining about the medium roast and the kind of shots that are pulled, Im not sure what the deal is except it seems those reviews are obviously biased and out to get the shop for personal reasons... That being said, they pull shots and use medium roast as per the specifications of Stumptown itself. Lets lift up local businesses and be supportive, shall we?I love Cafe Artista
