I had been going to this location since they opened but unfortunately the service has really suffered over the last couple years. The optometrist changed my preferred prescription brand without telling me first which has cost me more over the last year. I used my vision insurance but was charged more than I did pre insurance and everyone working there seems so irritated. I will be switching to a local optometrist with better all around service. So sad, because I use to love Visionworks.

Waited an hour past my appointment to see the tech, then had to wait on the optometrist while she walked around the office talking to an airline to ensure she could get a nonstop flight. I was prescribed 2 week disposal contacts, ordered them through the store and its been over two weeks and they still havent arrived. I was given no way to track the shipment, so as far Im concerned, I used up my insurance visit and gave this location $200+ to waste my time. Thanks but Im great at wasting time all on my own. 10/10 would NOT recommend. Lesson learned.

Receptionists took care of all my tests and explaining eye contact lenses care for a first timer, which even they were the nicest people they lack a lot of information that I should had. Only saw the doctor once and barely introduced or talked to me. I would not go here if you want profesional care.

Good experience with this location, but word of advice… you really should leave an automated message on your phone machine indicating that your location is closed especially if it shows it is open online. It would be beneficial for all customers that have to drive a far distance, so that’s very inconvenient you don’t have a way of telling your customers that your location is closed. Fix it please.

If you require special order contacts, please also get glasses. You’ll be playing Russian Roulette whether or not the contacts will arrive. I ordered contacts 7 months ago and have been repeatedly told that they need to order them. The lead time for the contacts are 6 weeks. They never called me to notify if the contacts have arrived. I have to go in and check for them.If you can avoid this place, please do. I paid $400 for contacts and would be willing to pay more for a better company after this experience.

Havent been in a while. Called to try and get my information so I could get some new contacts since my Perscription request from March 2020 went unanswered. 1st employee who answered was very rude and acted like nobody was supposed to be calling the store. 2nd person I talked to acted like I was an inconvenience to her. Because of this over the phone experience I will be going to a different location to have my vision needs met. You can cancel my appointment on Monday.

Brittany K. is awesome at this store. We purchased 2 pair of glasses at this store for our son and had problems with both pair. Brittany was exceptional at helping us resolve the problems and gave us advice on how to care for the frames to minimize any future problems. She is great. Make sure to ask for her when visiting this location.

Terrible service - appointment was at 9AM, I didnt get seen until 9:40AM. In the pre-appointment, the person did not know how to even turn on the machine, let alone use the machine. She asked me how to turn it on. She had to do the testing twice to get it correct. The actual doctor was great, but overall it was a very poor experience. I will not be going back.

I had an appointment set for 1, I walked in and was taken care of. The appointment was easy, the assistants and doctor were nice and answered my questions.Picking out glasses and contacts was easy, they told me how much I had to spend (insurance) and any deals they had set.An hour later, they were ready, adjusted quickly, and I was on my way home with new glasses.Thanks all, it was a pleasant experience.

I have given this place multiple chances. Each time I give them my business its been a poor experience and I keep giving them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately this location is consistently bad. Latest example: I called to order more contacts and they refused to help me because they were too busy. What business turns down a patient AND money?? They claimed they would call me back- never did. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. It will save you a ton of time.

Snails pace is a million times faster than people working at this center.Clearly lack communication, customer service skills.Ok selection of frames, and doctor visits could be mixed experience - ok at times.There is very less visibility behind charges, sometimes they dont give you receipt and just say how much it costed and got to pay for it.I wouldnt visit this place, given a lot of try and doesnt seem to improve.

I just want to say that if you visit vision works, ask for joe the women used to work for and eye doctor and knows her s__t. She is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about what they have to offer. If you ask me she should be a manager at that location but she’s only working part time

I had an appointment. Was seen within 10 minutes of arrival. Everyone was professional and friendly. Dr. Hoover was awesome at explaining information to me. I even saw employees spraying and wiping equipment which I liked. My whole visit was less than 45 minutes. Great experience for me! 👍🏾

I did not have an appointment but they were able to fit me in and I only had to wait 30 minutes. The doctor was amazing. I would definitely recommend getting an eye exam. The only issue I had was the pricing. The prices on the glasses are only for the frames. This makes no sense to me because who is going to get glasses without the glass. $199 glasses cost $400 out the door. Call me silly but I just cant understand the logic of purchasing glasses without the lenses.

Outstanding Service.Elizabeth was fantastic. She greeted as soon as I walked in the door and first gave me a tray so I could try on glasses while waiting to check in. Dr. Hoover was great also, nice sense of humor. After exam, she was right there waiting to complete my purchase.On a special note: Covid prepared. Free masks, Hand sanitizer everywhere, felt very comfortable.And again, Elizabeth was the Greatest!

I have worn glasses many years and have never had anyone at an eye doctor’s office spend as much time with me as TAMMY did at Nashville West. I hope this store realizes what a great employee and valuable asset they have in Tammy. I cannot say enough good things about her professionalism and patience. I lost count of how many frames we looked at and I never felt rushed! Tammy considered all factors when helping me, my face shape, the strength of my prescription, what frames were too big or too small, and how I was going to use. I feel very comfortable recommending Visionworks to friends and family. Thank you Tammy for making this an enjoyable experience. I would also like to acknowledge the service Elisabeth provided. I made an appointment online but waited almost 2 hours after I arrived for an appointment that lasted maybe 6 minutes. The young ladies at the front desk were friendly but not efficient. The girl checking me in didnt really listen and never heard me say I had an appointment. They were very busy.Then a week later I called when I didnt hear from them about my new glasses. after being put on hold for several minutes a manager came to the phone to inform me that the lab had sent my glasses to them but they never received them period theres no record of where they went period so he was going to have to order them again period it was all the labs fault not his fault.The tech who helped fit my new glasses and worked with me on the payment options was the only positive thing that happened during that visit.This in and of itself wouldnt have been terrible except that 4 years ago when I got glasses there I was totally the exact thing when my glasses didnt arrive within 3 or 4 days after when they told me they would have ithem. I remembered as soon as I heard his excuse that I had sworn I wasnt going to go there anymore and I didnt go there 2 years ago but I forgot and went again. I wont forget the next time.

I wouldnt recommend this place of business I was given a very hard time last night because I guess I came in at 5pm. Mind you the store closes at 7 and it was on two other customers inside. The receptionist lied stating that she didnt see my sons information in the computer in which this is the only one we travel to until today well most definitely patronize another business. I called this morning and spoke with another receptionist in which I gave her my sons birthday and she easily pulled it up so I asked to speak with a manager she told me the complications I experienced was due to covid-19 restrictions 🙄. So me being rushed lied to and told to pay out of pocket knowing that I have insurance was due to covid-19. Im just letting you guys know as well because this probably has happened to others trying to use their insurance

HOT MESS OF A PLACE! Basically just a factory to get people in and out in as little time as possible. I have been going to a family eye doctor my whole life back home but had to switch when I moved. He always took amazing care of my eyes. This place got my eyeglass prescription wrong. Granted, they did put in new lenses today but they are still not the right prescription. But I wont be going back to get them fixed. Young girl at the front desk literally yelling all morning how much she hates working at the front desk. Very awkward and uncomfortable. The only good thing was the nice guy that works on the glasses...I think hes called an optomologist? Very sweet man.

After going in to the store on Charlotte Pike to try to reorder contacts, I was told that the system was down and I would receive a call the next day (when the systems were back up) so that they could run my insurance and finish my order. When I did not receive a call, I decided to call them and check on it. Someone answered the phone, put me on hold, and every 30 seconds I heard a message that states Your call is important to us, please stay on the line. After about 10 mins of waiting, someone finally picks up only to sigh and hang the phone up. I called back, was placed on hold and, again after about 10 minutes, someone picked up the phone, let out an annoyed sigh, and hung up on me. I called a third time, told them someone had hung up on me twice, they exclaimed Eugh, not again and I told them I wanted to speak with someone about this without being placed on hold. She explained to me that I had to be placed on hold in order for a manager to pick up. After 15mins of waiting (with the Your call is important to us message playing every 30 seconds), a nice lady named Tammy came to the phone and told me she wasnt the manager but she would be happy to help with whatever I needed. After explaining the experience to her, she apologized profusely and asked what she could do to make things better. I asked her to fax my prescription over so that I could go somewhere else to order my contacts. I have worked a switchboard in one manner or another for 10 years and I completely understand how frustrating it can be when it gets busy. The fact that they were busy was out of their control. The system being down is also out of their control. The fact that whoever is answering their phones is hanging up on customers is completely within their control and, for that, I will not be going back. I do appreciate Tammys help in faxing me in a timely manner.

She documented what we discussed and saved all my information. She was very thorough In explaining my benefits.I returned today to purchase my glasses and my husbands. Elisabeth assisted me today. My husband and I had new benefits, she verified them and explained our options. She was able to pull up what glasses we had selected previously. She was very attentive and patient, spending a substantial amount of time with me to assure I was satisfied with my purchase. She explained all the lens options and pricing. I know I had a lot of questions, she never seemed irritated with them. That says a lot right there!The two of them worked as a team.I will definitely return and highly recommend them! Thank you!

As I went to Google to leave this review I was very surprised at the negative reviews noting that the customer has received no attention. Both times that I have come to the clinic I have been quickly greeted and helped. Tammy quickly made adjustments to two pairs of glasses for me. I made an appointment a week ahead for 9:45am on 6/26/20 at the VisionWorks on Charlotte Ave in Nashville and arrived on time. I had previously filled out and submitted on-line forms to avoid having to do this during my visit. Although there were three people already seated who were walk-ins, I was assured that I would be next because I had an appointment. At 10am, one of the walk-ins was called instead of me. I was already concerned that the chairs in the waiting area were placed too close together to protect people during the Covid-19 pandemic. I told the receptionist that I was leaving and would not be back. I do NOT recommend this business for anyone who wants to feel safe and be treated fairly.

Each member of the staff from beginning to end were excellent! My only suggestion is that patient history should be shared between locations. I assumed that since my last appointment was within the same organization that they would have access to my last exam. It makes no sense to go within the same company and they dont have your history! Pretty great experience! They have a good selection of frames and I was able to find something I like, which is usually hard for me to do. The wait for the doctor was a little longer than I would have liked, but expected since I went on a busy Saturday. I spent the time browsing for glasses anyway so it wasn’t an issue. The saleswoman I worked with, Vickie, was very sweet and helpful, and not pushy at all. And above all, the price was much better than I expected it to be and I got a great deal with my insurance! I will definitely be back in the future!

I had a scratched Cornea and they were extremely busy, first week back after COVID and all. They told me to come on in and they would see me ASAP.I went in, under extreme duress and pain, and they took great care of me. They made it quick and painless! Which is important.Thanks again to the team! I’m all better after only 2 days.WOUND REOPENED AND I CALLED IN TO HAVE THE EYE DROPS REFILLED AND THE DR ON DUTY SAID HE WOULDN’T!! IM OVER HERE HURTING AND THEY WOULDN’T EVEN HELP ME. THE EYE DROPS AREN’T EVEN A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE. THEY JUST WANTED ANOTHER VISIT AND ANOTHER FEE. Overall I had a great experience. Dr. Lu was great and listened to my concerns. Simmie was AMAZING! There were 2 of us getting glasses, contacts, and prescription sunglasses. He was funny and made the 2.5 ordeal very pleasant.Problem: Visionworks cuts their staff at a critical point of the day. At 5:30, when people are getting off work they had one person working the floor. There were 11 people other than us needing help. An elderly woman with a walker gave up and left. A man standing at the counter waited at least 45 minutes just to pick up a pair of glasses. He only got waited on because another staff member, who does not work the floor, came out from the back to help out.I’m sorry for the lengthy review, but the higher ups at Visionworks need know there is a problem.

I went in last week looking for a new frame for a new prescription. There were 3-4 staff members at that time but not even one greeted me or asked what I was there for. Terrible customer service. I actually hung around for a full 15 minutes trying on frames and still not one person thought it was necessary to say anything. I took my business elsewhere and do not recommend anyone with any self respect to take their business to this place. Actually they do not deserve any star but I could not post without selecting one.

I enjoyed the in store experience, always very professional efficient courteous, However I called in the store to get information on the insurance placed on my glasses. I was placed on hold by a representative name Jessica. i held the first time for 30 minutes hung up and called again I then held for another 30 minutes with someone answering briefly calling me the wrong name and placing me back on hold. this i found unprofessional. This is my second time visiting this location, and it has gone absolutely down hill since Andy left. The only positive thing I have to say about this location is how sweet the actual optometrist was.This was my first time ever getting contacts, and I was treated like I wasn’t “listening” and that my husband was making me “distracted”. I was also told that I was too “excited” in that moment, and I reiterated that I was nervous, not excited about anything. I’m a grown woman, and I don’t need someone to try to tell me how I feel.She made me continually touch my eye when it wasn’t needed to the point of extreme redness, and proceeded to tell me there was a certain way I HAD to put in my contacts. They couldn’t even find my patient folder because it was so unorganized. One lady, (I think named Charlotte) continually talked about how it was time for her break and how inconvenienced she was. I will never be returning to this location and will be taking this to corporate.Please learn how to customer service.

Despite the current advertising, the person taking insurance information seemed clueless, unable to answer simple questions such as the price of the exam after being asked 3 times.We continued with the eye exam and the eye doctor was very nice and pleasant. Also, Tammy working in sales exceeded my expectations.Too bad that I, and others that followed me had an experience so bad at first that it taints the entire company.Please train your employees before putting them as your representative to the public.** the lab tech Jeremy G. The sales people are only interested in what I assume is their commission. They didn’t answer my questions, and just pushed whatever they were selling. When something was declined, they just didn’t get how someone may not purchase whatever they were selling. There is a 30 day return period, though, so use it.

And then once contacts were bought, the employees refused to provide a rebate code and told me to go online to get it which does not make sense because rebate codes come from the doctors office that you purchase contacts from.

Really fast, yet still thorough. My daughter had appt at local hospital in Nashville and thats 120 Mile drive for us one way. I broke my glasses on way up, so knowing my prescription was out if date I was up the creek. I google walk in eye exams, Vision works is first to pop up, I call and actually get appt for that day. I was there for 20 minutes with a pair of trial contacts and glasses and contact prescription. (I have worn contacts for 20 yrs, just ran out a month ago). I highly recommend for anyone, local or like me just there for doctor appointment. Fast and very friendly, great customer service.

I cannot praise the Nashville West store enough. I recently had to take my mother for new glasses & this group of amazing people went out of their way to assist us. Because my mother has a very difficult time getting in & out of a vehicle & has to use a wheelchair they came outside to the car. Wasnt to pleased with the female Dr very quick with my daughter spent more time waiting then in the exam room the guy doing my daughters measurements very nice spent more time talking to him about her glasses and gave me info on contacts then the Dr did I understand she might be busy but aleast show ppl you care about there concerns give them a chance to express before going out of the room

This place is terrible! Only two people working who both hate their job. They are so slow and nobody even acknowledged me the 20 minutes I was in the store. I picked out a pair of glasses and was completely ready to purchase them and had to leave because the service was the worst experience ever!

I have been to this store several times for different things I needed done with my eyes and glasses . The staff seem friendly and I dont wait long . I dont mind going to this location for anything I need . I also will be referring this place to my friends when they are in need of a eye place . I have been going to Visionworks for several years. This location has some of the rudest laziest most incompetent people I have ever had the displeasure of working with. My right eye was over corrected and I had to make several trips to get them to correct the issue. Jessica is the only one who gets a pass. The rest of yall are a disgrace to the world of optometry. Save ur money go to a different location idc just dont waste your time and energy.

Im confused, normally when I visit, the service is great! Receptionists are nice, optometrists even more pleasant, everyone is all around great. But things have recently taken a negative turn. Unfriendly the past 3 times Ive been to the location, and I was left on hold for 12 minutes when I requested my contact/eyeglass script to be sent. She did apologize when I called back and said we were disconnected and kindly helped me out, but I wont be returning. Ever again.

I cannot put it into words the lack of professionalism and disrespect that Ive encountered with this staff over the past year The physicians were great and being a nurse rate them among the highest but just be aware your journey will be very agitating and anxiety producing on how your treated. They do not not care and it shows by the lack of communication on you receiving your eye wear. They have no answers for your questions nor do they seem to want to help you. My experiences have been scary for the fact you dont know if your even going to get your glasses or contacts after youve paid for them. Its definite that you are just a number and they are under paid and rude. I never write reviews but being in the medical profession I left this office today thinking were has customer service gone. Your on your own and I hope this company surely reaps loss revenue on the way they run a business.

I made an appointment for 2:30 and still haven’t been seen yet at 3:15. When I asked why it was taking so long and what the point of an appointment was, the lady didn’t even look up from the computer when giving me a vague answer. Don’t even bother with an appointment and only come if you have literally the whole day to waste.

I was very pleased with my service the online registration was perfect And once I arrived I was seen promptly Everything was fine right on down to picking out and fulfilling my prescription so I am confused about all the negative reviews that I have read . I love coming here and will do so in the future
