Recently had both of my eyes prepared for cataract surgery and Dr. Boerman knew exactly what to do to prepare me and my “dry” eyes For this kind of surgery. She referred me to the Wang Institute And the surgeries were painless and the after care By Dr Boerman was excellent!

I had my first appointment with Brentwood Eye Care in June 2021. Great experience - I saw Dr. Svennevik and she was positively delightful! I highly recommend. Her demeanor was professional, yet fun. She recommended a new brand of contacts (I have been in the same brand for 10+ years) and after a 1 week trial, its hard to use the remaining inventory of my remaining old contacts. The news brand is much better. Thank you!

I have nothing but amazing things to say about this office! From Drs to desk staff, everyone is unbelievably helpful and friendly. I would get check in calls from the Dr during an event where I damaged my eye, and they resolved an issue with my contacts getting lost of the courier. Highly highly recommended

Brentwood Eye Care is wonderful! Dr. Boerman and Dr. Svennevik helped me with my pre-op and post-op PRK surgery care and have gone above and beyond to make sure my vision is at its very best. The office itself is very clean, welcoming, & modern. While briefly waiting for my appointment, I noticed a great selection of designer eyewear and a competent staff accommodating patients. I have been to several optometrists throughout the Nashville area over the past 15 years and Dr. Boerman and Dr. Svennevik are by far the most thorough doctors I have seen.

Dr. Boerman literally saved my vision. During my eye appointment she saw something that was very concerning and sent me immediately for surgery. I had a lovely time here! I was fitted for contact lenses. The staff was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is wonderful and the decor is beautiful. All of the machinery is sanitized before every use. Ms. Helen and her staff did an excellent job helping me put the lenses in and taking them out. I also got a pair of cute glasses and got my prescription updated. There was also a free table of food for the patients. This was a terrific process. Easy to get in, the office is lovely, and Dr. Haviland is great to work with. The ability to try multiple lenses while here was very helpful - as is testing them before purchasing. Wholeheartedly recommend.

REVISED: got a call from Doctor Helen and she informed me of updates to their pricing and checkout. It was nice for her to reach out and inform me that they are improving their process. Thank you Dr. Helen! Review now reflects revision.Doctor Helen is very helpful and kind but the pricing is confusing and makes for a bad experience. (Cost is important because Im on a tight budget.) Long story short: I was given two different totals by two different people. In the exam room after we finished, I was given a sheet with a total for $106. When I got to the front desk, the total changed to $180 and there were a few fees that were never discussed. I know insurance makes it difficult to estimate the final cost, but at least be transparent about it or talk about it on the front end that way the patient doesnt question your trust.

I had never been to an eye doctor before, but of course I read horror stories online and feared the worst walking in. The fact I have an anxiety disorder didn’t make it more exciting. However, the staff—every one of them I encountered—was courteous and welcoming all the way through. Everyone was smiling and friendly! (And patient with my weird questions and jitters at each test.) The visit was quick, and the doc saw me right as the tech left my room. She answered all my questions, even the ones I didn’t know to ask! Then when I was trying on different frames for the first time ever, the woman who helped me, Kelsie, was extremely helpful! She picked out colors that matched my skin tone and styles that complimented my face shape—it came down to two frames I liked. The receptionists were the final decider and made me feel very comfortable with my end decision...so much so that I took a selfie and felt confident enough to show my coworkers the picture! I never do that (ahem, thanks anxiety)! I went on a Thursday afternoon, same day appointment, and I was in/out in 1.5 hrs. I’m stoked to have my new glasses and hopefully stop these headaches from straining to read all day at work! Thank you all for helping me!!!!

Dr. Boerman is always very thorough and detailed. She recently helped me with an issue that my doctor and several other specialist dismissed. Because of her, I had tangible proof that something was wrong. I was able to take her diagnosis to my PCP and have the needed test. I ended up having surgery. If she hadnt listened to me and been so detail oriented, I might still be dealing with headaches and dizziness! She is wonderful! I would recommend her to everyone I know!

I have had a wonderful experience here every time I visit! The environment is beautiful, the staff is incredibly friendly and professional, and Dr. Boerman is so attentive, kind, and all meets my eye-care needs. One time I ordered contacts and it took longer than expected to get them in (which was out of their control). My daughter and her eyes are growing up with Brentwood Eye Care! I love how much time and attention to detail both doctors there always take. The office is lovely and they have always had a great selection of frames. Dr. Boerman has also been knowledgeable about the latest technology in my contacts, and the multifocals she suggested for me have helped so much!

No other improvements that I could see is needed. The renovations that the eye clinic did is really amazing. The wooden sliding doors to the exam rooms are really a nice touch and the addition of cushioned benches and decorative pillows are quite a beautiful addition to the overall look of the clinic. I will be remiss not to mention the paint job of the office. It really brighten up the place quite a bit.

Great Experience! From the minute I arrived I was very impressed! From the warm friendly reception I received to the decor of the office, I felt “at home”. This was my first visit and it will not be my last. The equipment was new and state of the art. Dr. Boerman took the time to listen and answer all my questions regarding my vision care. I am always pleased with the quality of care I receive here, as the vision Rx are spot-on. Dr. Boerman makes helpful recommendations on the brand of contact lenses to try for comfort and ease of use. The staff are willing to go the extra mile to address any concerns with billing and insurance, and ensure your satisfaction with vision products purchased in their office.

Find somewhere else. The doctors are nice and very helpful but their staff is ridiculously inconsiderate. Let me explain, I switched there recently for my normal eye exam and to update my glass and contacts. That appointment went fine I loved the doctor I saw but the support staff seemed a little uncaring. However, I had to come back for a second appointment for an issue with my tear ducts. I showed up for my appointment 10 minutes early and they set me in a room at the time my appointment was scheduled for and then they left me there for an HOUR. No one came in, to explain what was taking so long until about the hour mark and all she said was thank you for waiting. Really? Really? After about 15 more minutes I came out and said I couldnt wait any longer and needed to get to work. The girl at the desk asked if I wanted to reschedule, and I proceeded to tell her no I would find another optometrist. She said she was sorry (rather callously) but there was an emergency patient. I would have been fine with that if someone had bothered to tell me BEFORE I had been sitting there for almost an hour and a half. If someone had actually came back there and said Im sorry for your wait there was an emergency, I would have politely asked to set up another appointment. If someone had talked to me I would have been ok, but to leave me in there waiting for an hour and a half with no explanation is not acceptable.

Dr Harman and the staff at the Brentwood Eye Clinic have cared for my eyes and those of my two boys for twenty years now since moving to Nashville. I count on his expertise to see the world and I have been well taken care of. You couldnt find another Eye doctor that would be as kind and caring as him. They informed me that I have discounts for sunglasses on my insurance per year that I didnt even know existed and was never told at my previous eye clinic!!! As well as this clinic gave me paper work to enroll in discounts on my dry eye Prescription! The technology and assistance to understand your eye care and its cost was superb! I already gave a business card to my coworker who is checking out their website! I will be highly recommending this clinic to my friends!

Highly recommend Dr Harman and the Brentwood Eye Clinic. I was dealing with an issue off and on for about 7 months hesitant to go see a doctor. I finally went and chose the Brentwood Eye Clinic. Dr Harman gave me a prescription that healed me in a week. Would recommend him for any eye related visit. The staff is also very pleasant.

The staff was absolutely professional and I felt very much cared for from the time I was greeted at the door, to the testing and teaching of my eyes by Dr Boerman, to the teaching of contacts, to getting fitted to glasses, to checking out at the end of the visit! The office was very busy when I arrived, I was nervous and a little worried about being rushed through and not having time for my many questions (as this was my first eye exam in my life). I was very happy with my experience. Dr. Boerman took her time with me and at no point did I feel rushed during my appointment. The front office staff was very friendly and gave input on my first set of frames. I was very anxious about the visit but was guided through the whole experience by a very friendly and caring group of ladies from beginning to end.

Its no wonder Dr. Harman quickly became my favorite optometrist. I dont know how but his eye exam took half as long as any other Ive ever had and his prescription was far more accurate! And there wasnt the constant, Hmm, Im not sure which one is clearer. I dont know how he does it but his eye exams were both the most accurate and the shortest Ive ever had. Wont go to another.

Dr. Harmans work as an optometrist is first-rate. His office staff as very professional and efficient. The equipment in the office is top-of-the-line and gives me confidence that I am receiving the highest possible quality care for my eyes. I have received the best of care from Dr. Harman, even now since I am on Medicare and medicare supplements. He is keeping close records of my tendency toward glaucoma and has always showed the utmost care and concern. His staff is also very helpful.

My family and I have been going to Dr. Boerman for years and at every visit I am grateful for the knowledge and expertise she and her staff provide. I have glaucoma, which they monitor closely and keep under control, and dry eye, which they also treat on a regular basis. The Brentwood Eye Care offices are lovely and Dr. Boerman and Dr. Haviland and their staff are always warm and welcoming. Also, they stay up-to-date on the latest procedures, so I know I am getting the best advice and care for my eyes. For example, I recently noticed a small shadow in my peripheral vision and BEC fit me in for an appointment right away and then they sent me off that same day to a retina specialist, where a partial detachment of my retina was confirmed, and surgery was performed that same afternoon. I am so thankful that they caught this right away at BEC and knew exactly what should be done. With all of my eye issues, I know I could not be in better hands than with Dr. Boerman and Dr. Haviland and their staff.

I cant say enough wonderful things about Dr. Boerman as she truly saved my vision! I was out mowing and foolishly wasnt my safety glasses. Long story short, I drove under tree with a low branch and caught a leaf directly in the eye. The pain was immediately excrutiating (Sunday 1pm), I went inside and went to sleep because I couldnt stand the pain.Monday morning I went into see Dr. Boerman, who fit me in last minute. After a brief exam she told me Id scratched over 50% of my cornea but her excitement was immediately obvious as she told me of a new procedure/technology which uses amniotic fluid to heal the eye. After inserting the bandage into my eye (which wasnt comfortable but nothing compared to the existing pain), and 24 hours later the pain had subsided from a 10/10 to a 2/10 and 2 days later the lens was removed, my pain was gone and my vision was back!Shes truly the best optometrist Ive had and hope youll give her a shot if youre reading this!

Dr. Boerman and her staff are polite, courteous, and knowledgeable. They are efficient and detailed in every aspect of the practice! I highly recommend both doctors, Helen Boerman and Shelby Haviland. They are well trained and deeply care about their patients and their patients care. This attention to detail is filtered down to all of the other employees from their contact specialist and glasses specialist, to the front desk and medical assistants.

Some of the front desk are not well trained in customer service. I made an appointment for me and my husband to have an eye exam and explained that he could not make the appointment until later in the day. I asked what their latest appointment time was and the receptionist said they could see him at 4:30pm. I went to my appointment and met the blonde with short hair who I had spoke with on the phone. I was a little late to the appointment but they fit me in. Today, my husband shows up for his appointment and the same exact woman (according to his description) who made his appointment with me over the phone and who I confirmed my husbands appointment with before I left, told him that there was no record of an appointment with him and that they never do eye exams at 4:30pm. This woman didnt offer to schedule him another appointment, nor did she apologize for the mistake. Simply was rude and sent him on his way as if he was at fault for the error. Funny thing, they had his birthday, name and address on file, but oops, no appointment. Honestly, I think the appointment was purposely cancelled because there were some issues with my insurance while I was there for my appointment a week earlier and unfortunately was not able to get my frames that day. I needed to call and sort out my coverage with them because the eye clinic was trying to overcharge me. My advice, go somewhere else. The doctor I saw was great and Nancy, the woman who does insurance, was completely friendly. But the head honcho blonde is obviously someone you dont want to rub the wrong way.

I Finally reached that Age where you know if you visit an eye doctor you’re going to realize you know longer have 20/20 vision. Sure enough, I needed my first pair glasses and Dr. Helen made it a very smooth transition

Brentwood eye care is a pleasure to come to for eye exams. The office is beautiful and the staff is very friendly and prompt in their service!

I of the things I like about Dr Harman is he takes his time with you. So many Doctors now rush you in and out. He is a good listener and wants to help you see better. I would recommended him to anyone looking for a new Doctor of Optometry.

Dr. Boreman and the staff at Brentwood Eye Care are amazing!! From the time you walk in to the time you leave you feel very well taken care of. The staff is helpful, kind and attentive. I have been a patient of Dr. Boreman’s for several years and have always experienced excellent care.

Sorry, but I cannot offer any helpful suggestions because my entire experience was so superior to anything Ive previously experienced. I offer only encouragement in the form of gratitude for a terrific experience in every way.

Update:After posting the below review, Dr Boerman called me to resolve the issues that I had experienced the very next morning. And she texted me. And she checked in to make sure the Lasik people called me immediately like she asked them to. If only every business had this kind of customer service/issue resolution. You can tell she is very much invested in making sure her patients are taken care of.Everyone seemed helpful and friendly during my appointment, however, when I left I was told I would receive a call for a lasik consultation I requested. That never happened. Also, after waiting two months for my contacts to come in I found out after getting them home that they are only approved by the FDA for up to 6 days of extended wear. I was told when I ordered them that I could wear them continuously for up to 30 days. Ive obviously cancelled my next appointment with them.

I saw Dr. Boerman and she was quite lovely. I had not worn contacts before so I had to pay for a class on how to put them in and remove them. The problem I had with that is I then had to come home to actually learn how to really do it. The girl had never worn contacts and was not much use on giving advice. The main problem...she didnt know there was a right and wrong side for the contacts! Paying extra (it was not an optional lesson) for something like that is a waste. My husband will be getting his contacts somewhere else so we can compare experiences.

I love Dr. Boerman! She was extremely professional and thorough. I am very excited to be a new patient of hers.
