It was a good experience. I didn’t have to wait too long for my appointment. The Dr. was thorough. The technician who helped me find new frames gave me her honest opinion, which I appreciated, and explained the original price vs the price I was paying through my insurance. I also appreciated explaining what each of the features were and why they recommended them. (I manage to lose some of that knowledge no matter how often I get new glasses.)

Very impressed with this office. All of the staff are friendly, courteous and helpful. Sweet ladies! Dr. Meany was prompt, friendly and professional. He made me laugh, explained vision issues very well and made sure I wasnt left with any questions. It is not often you encounter an office that exceeds the mark on every level. Selection of glasses and sunglasses was excellent too. Highly recommend!!

I am so disappointed and upset as I write this. My mother and I have been going to this location for decades and our last visit felt so unwelcoming. The manager was very very rude. My mother but has been a loyal patient of almost 20 years. The manager by the name of Stephanie I believe made her feel like a burden and hurt her feelings, she might be old but is still human! I am just so upset with how my dear mother was treated, I was told Stephanie seemed so annoyed with how my mother was asking questions and even rolled her eyes at her! My mother also told me she was talking in a ugly tone to her employees. The doctors have never been a problem; the customer service by the manager herself is. I will be telling many of my friends to stop going there. I will also be emailing TSO board members because this is not the first time I have heard about the manager. Seems like no one cares, very disappointing.

My whole appointment was going well up until the part where I had to pick out my glasses. I asked to speak to the manager because the woman checking me out with glasses was so unprofessional and rude! Rolling her eyes speaking in a tone like she was tired of me. If I am willing to spend hundreds of dollars here I think its only right to have respect anyway I asked to speak to the manager and the manager was the one helping me out very rude manager then she then laughed in my face never again will I recommend someone to go here

Unfortunately going here was a HUGE hassle from start to finish. First, I had to redo all my registration paperwork because it had been almost a year since I last did it. This was my basic information like name and address, and nothing had changed. Then, I had to re-answer all the questions they had asked previously about my medical history, etc., because they were putting it in their computer for the first time (2021!) and evidently only had it on the paper I had previously filled out. After I got 2 new prescriptions, the printout they gave me only had 1 of them on it, which I didnt realize until I was already standing in another store trying to buy new glasses. So I had to call and ask for the 2nd one to be emailed to me. 20 mins later I had to call AGAIN because they had gotten busy and forgot to send the email. All seemed a bit out of control to me.

We make it a family outing to get our eyes checked annually, and Dr. Sabol and her staff are THE best!! Very knowledgeable Dr and staff!! I had my eyes examined due to experiencing blurred vision. I’m over forty so I thought it was just time for glasses. I was seen by Dr. Sabol and received a very thorough exam. I chose the retinal imaging they offer. She was able to show me exactly what she was seeing in the back of my eye which was great and made me understand exactly what was going on. It turned out that I had what she called a hemorrhage in the back of my eye and some hypertension changes. She then spoke with my doctor about her concerns which prompted my doctor to see me immediately. I had testing done and it was found that I have type two diabetes and some blockage to my carotid arteries. I’m so glad I went and now know that your eyes are for more than just sight it tells you what is going on with your health.

This was my first time to have Dr. Sabol examine my eyes. I would describe her as “patient oriented.” She was very thorough and professional and answered all my questions. I have been going to TSO in New Braunfels since we have lived here, more than 13 years. I have always had a very good experience there and she will continue to be my optometrist.

I had a great experience at this TSO location! Staff greeted me as soon as I walked through the door. I saw Dr. Brodtmann, he was nice & very informative throughout my exam. I felt safe seeing that the staff was taking all health precautions due to Covid.

My daughter and I had our annual eye exams today and were very pleased with the staff and the exam at TSO in Courtyard Plaza. Everything was explained to us as we went through the initial exam with Sarina. She was quite pleasant, and we were told what our insurance would cover and asked if we wanted the test that was not covered. There was no pressure to agree to anything extra. During the eye exam, Dr. Brodtmann was very helpful, personable, and patient, as he always is. I appreciate that he is conservative when it comes to changing to a new prescription and purchasing glasses or contacts, and he never hesitates to say that we can wait another year if the changes in our vision dont warrant a new pair of glasses or contacts. In fact, Dr. Brodtmann advised my daughter against changing to the new contact prescription since her changes were minimal. We also worked with Lisette for the filling of our glasses prescriptions. She took the time to ask what we wanted and let us know very clearly what was covered and what was not. Again, there was no pressure, and we could have asked for our prescriptions and opted out of any purchase today. Everyone wore masks, we waited in our car until called in, and cleaning and safety precautions were adhered to throughout the appointment. The entire staff was very friendly and welcoming (from a distance). Great experience as always!

Dr.Brodtmann is one of the best doctors I have seen in my lifetime! I have been a patient of Dr.Brodtmanns from a very young age, but after my recent eye appointment with the new faculty I can confidently say I will be switching eye care facilities! Eye appointments are supposed to last longer than, literally, 5 minutes... Miss Sabol obviously was taught how to get the most money out of patients while attending grad school, she was also obviously taught how to get a patient in-and-out of the office as fast as she can, and what upset me the most was the lack of respect for Dr.Brodtmann! (Word of advice: It is impolite to try and belittle the man who is letting you take over his business.) Along with the inappropriate behavior of Miss Sabol; the new receptionist (with the colorful hair) couldnt be more rude to me while questioning me upon start of my eye exam. (If you dont like working with people.. dont be a receptionist sweetheart!)Miss Sabol and her new staff need to take a look around and understand that Dr.Brodtmann ran his office as a family business, and it should continue to be ran that way. Respect, honesty, and genuine empathy can go a long way with patients when compared to a program all about the money.I would NOT recommend this eye care facility to anyone!! (Unless you want to pay almost TRIPLE the amount you payed for contacts and glasses your last visit!! Yes we have receipts from last year.)

The doctor was very good, however the wait time seemed way too long for an eye exam with an empty lobby. I was misled and ended up paying $40 extra for a part of the exam that my insurance doesn’t cover, even though I asked in advance.I also did not get my frames from them because the lady tried to add $20 here, $40 there, and $40 more for who knows what special lenses. Overall the doctor is good and honest, but the sales pitches need to stop. This is healthcare, not a car dealership.

I was able to get an appointment within a week if my call. Some information was taken over the phone which cut down on wait time. I was seen by the Dr promptly and everything was explained, as well as all questions answered.

I felt like they care about their customers protection with the social distance and only having one customer at a time.

Not very good customer service, the ladies in the front told me one thing and the Dr in the back told me something different .Then I had mine and my husbands insurance and they told me they would compare the two and use the better one, me trusting them I let them make that decision, which was the WRONG thing to do . When I got home I compared them myself, the only better thing about his insurance is that his copay was $10 mine was $20,, but in the end mine gave a bigger allowance for frames, lenses, etc ..But of course they told me his was better so I could pay more out of pocket . Very disappointed in TSO, they are just trying to make $$$$ more then customer service .I would never reccomend this place for your optical needs ..Vision works is where I usually go, but my glasses were broke beyond repair and I needed them fast, vision works had no available appt, and TSO accepted me as a walk in 🤦🤦🤦...but that bite me in the rear lol never again will I go here. . CUSTOMER SERVICE IS 👎👎👎

Husband’s insurance said he could go to this TSO so he went today. When he walked in, presented his insurance card and inquired if they took his insurance (Medicare). Both ladies working said they didn’t know and didn’t want to check. So my husband politely thanked them. He was leaving and did share with them that Medicare sent him to this TSO, but it was okay he would find another eye place. No ambition to assist. Won’t get our business and will certainly share our experience.

Im so thankful to Texas State Optical of New Braunfels. They are so helpful especially Debra Sanchez. She helped me get my Fiances glasses to a perfect fit. I recommend you go check them out. Ask for Debra shes an awesome employee.

Went in today to get glasses and I will never go back. The person who dealt with me, because thats how it felt, was rude, unfriendly and couldnt be bothered once I wasnt spending extra money. And the ones I did get were fine except when she was explaining the costs was very condescending. I canceled my order. There are plenty of places to purchase glasses. They should really try harder to make the experience worth spending your money there. I canceled my order.Im easy to please, so thats says something.

I got my first pair of my prescription glasses nearly 20 years ago from this particular TSO location. Throughout those years from Dr. Brodtmann to Dr. Turner and staff. Ive always had the best experience coming in to get an examination or purchasing new glasses. Stephanie has been very helpful the last couple of years in helping me select my new frames. All in all, I will continue to visit this location in the future. Great job everyone! 😊

Grt place..good exam with knowledgeable doctor, wonderful optician who patiently helped me pick new frames. All around wonderful experience!

Took three tries to get the right lenses. First time wrong prescription, second time wrong lenses, third time still sitting here waiting for the new lenses to be put into my frames. Been 30 minutes. Find another optometrist. Edit for 3/12/18....had a call from the optometrist who apologized for the service. She knew what had happened and I felt that was important. Hopefully they figure out the kinks....and move forward with their service. So Ill bump it up a star or two for the personal apology.

Went to the doctor and they were fantastic. First time there and needed contacts. Got a year supply and a rebate to my house. Dr. Sabol, was great and that my vision and good in my contacts. Staff was excellent!!!!

I have been coming to TSO since I was a kid. Dr. Brodtmann has always been great and now the office is even better with the new Doctors and staff! Deborah has always been fun to chat and laugh with, she is very knowledgeable and helps me make wise decisions regarding my eye care. Brenda and Dr. Turner were both very friendly and fun, so much so that before I knew it my exam and fitting were over. Kudos to the entire team.

Glasses have been ready since monday and they said they called never got a call. Then i had told them that my glasses are a daily wear just not for work and yet they didnt listen. Mind you my glasses are safty glasses for that i have to wear at work and home and the safty shield dont come off. So they just looked at me and said ok thank you have a good. Never again am i going to that place. They are rude and they dont listen to there customers needs
