Simply put, this is a phenomenal shop, rife with really cool items that are reasonably priced. I could spend thousands in here were I financially able to do so. There’s many items that can be personalized as well. Free shipping on anything over $100 and that includes the total cost of anything purchased as opposed to a single item needing to cost $100. The young woman running the shop at the time was very helpful and quite lovely. This is a hidden gem you should visit, even in a town such as this with so many great shops.

It was the second time I was here to buy a present for my father in law. They have a lot of very attractive, fine and quality gifts. Some of the things can be personalized and they ship the orders to other states. Very convenient and afforable. Great location!

We were just window shopping along Jackson Square and this place pulled us in with their cool window display. They have a good selection of nautical and vintage-type gifts and decor items that look high quality, which is a nice diversion from so many of the kitschy gift shops in the area. The staff was pretty hands off (no, we didnt feel ignored; there were a few different groups in on a busy Saturday, so the employee didnt reach out to us necessarily, but she did answer any questions we had 😉 ), and at least they werent rude when I brought three kids into a shop full of potential breakables. 😂 My son even found something he loved so much we went back the next week to purchase and he has loved the quill pen set so far.

We needed a rush order with expedited shipping for a going-away gift for our boss. They put a rush on it, and shipped it expedited delivery at no extra cost. The sign was awesome. A+ in our book. Will definitely buy from them again!

I am so very pleased with the purchase from an aesthetic point of view, but the rich tone of its sound once we rang it only made my decision to purchase from you even more valid. Great experience! I was looking for the Boeing clipper that is out of production and was wondering for information about how I might obtain one either talking to the owner of simpler time or going to the manufacturer or something, after hanging up a little while later the associate called me back and said that she had one as a display in the store I was able to get that after a nice discount packaging was awesome no worries on the FedEx shipping everything went great! Looking forward to doing business with A Simpler Time again!!

Came here last year and bought one of those personalized professional signs as well as an old school compass and was super impressed! I must say this business is a very much a class act and super professional! Had to email them on more than one occasion, once for an error on there part and then another time when the caduceus emblem had broke unbeknownst to me and this company was super accommodating in terms of getting back to me promptly and without ever asking for much detail or going into all these extra questions, they sent the repair pieces and paid for shipping...no questions asked! Way to go! Next time Im in NOLA I will surely be making another trip back to this fine establishment to do some more shopping!

Loved it in here!! Wanted to buy one of everything!! They had a bunch of really detailed metal models of airplanes and models of boats that looked 3 times the asking price. A lot of other cool stuff too!

A little pricey but a real nice store

Best store of its kind. Has lots of unique items and fantastic service including shipping. We wanted to buy stuff for ourselves and gifts but didn’t want to lug around so they shipped everything including made to order items. It has a combination of items that look and feel museum quality without costing you an arm and a leg. Incredibly original customizable gifts that have an authentic antique look and field. Items have heft to it. Nothing flimsy. I make it a point to visit it whenever I go to NOLA. Leave your credit card at the hotel if you don’t want to spend money. Love this place.

I couldnt find any propellers that were nearly as beautiful as the ones on A Simpler Times website, but I saw that the propellers were out of stock and sent an email to A Simpler Time asking if they could make our tight timeline (I needed it for an event in two weeks). They assured me that they could and if I placed the order that day, they would ship it out within a few business days. Relieved, I placed the order and they shipped it the very next day! This place is always a fun stop when coming to New Orleans. There are many nostalgia-driven gifts, signs, and paintings. I bought the painting of multiple presidents sitting around a poker table and laughing. I genuinely like the Americana-style art that they sell. Its right next to St. Louis Cathedral, and my favorite shop to stop at in the square.
