We love coming to Organic Food Depot on our trips to Norfolk. They carry a lot of the healthy and certified organic foods that we like. I like the bulk department, as it offered some of the organic low carb nuts that I like. There’s a wide selection of merchandise at this store, and it’s great they have such friendly staff here!

Lots of selection for such a small store and they have online shopping for more selections. Reasonable priced for organic, plus you are supporting a local shop, so it may be worth paying a little extra. 👍

This is a great place to shop. The way they do perishables in a refrigerated space is the way all stores should be, the way Costco does it. Definitely will be back.

This little store is fantastic. My husband and I usually shop at Whole Foods, but this place is much closer and carries most of the products we usually get at WF. There is a small refrigerated produce room in the back, isles of dry goods, a small section of house cleaning products, toiletries, and supplements. The employees are always super friendly, and I enjoy trying new snacks each time we visit.

OFD is my hometown, earth-friendly product shop. Their staff is most helpful, and their prices are reasonable. For an establishment with a small physical footprint, they manage to provide access to a large selection of foodstuffs and household products.

Ive been shopping here since about 2008. You can split cases of items you like via their online ordering co-op. I always find something new and delicious to try.

Convenient to Ghent area and Downtown. For a small food store, Organic Food Depot has a wide selection of healthy foods and products. Produce is fresh. If you dont see it, the manager can order it! Friendly, helpful staff. Family owned.

Love this place!!! Surprised how affordable the prices are as well as the amount of VEGAN PRODUCTS!!! Not to mention all the produce is ORGANIC and FRESH! I’m definitely a regular now after stumbling upon this place. Oh and the staff are very friendly and approachable as well as knowledgeable. They also told me about signing up on the website to get even BETTER PRICES! Definitely my new go to spot for groceries!

Great vegan options

COVID 19 FEAR MONGERS WELCOME! First of all, a face covering is a face covering until the Governor states that the public is mandated to wear a biohazard, surgical mask. Having an arrhythmia, I am unable to wear a mask that hugs against my face as it makes it difficult to breathe (yes, difficulty breathing affects your heart), however knowing how FACE COVERINGS are mandatory, I wear my scarf around my nose and mouth cinched at the back in a knot. Upon arrival to this store, I was first greeted pleasantly by a young lady, but then seconds later I was rudely told to leave by some guy because my face covering didnt look exactly like his. What a shame, my very first visit, after deciding to go vegan to better my heart health.. I was told I had to leave the store. SO! Shopper beware - you MUST have a surgical, hospital issued mask in order to shop. To the shop owners - suggest to your staff to be a bit more pleasant and/or have masks available to your patrons that suit YOUR requirements.

The store in Norfolk has a great staff. And the store is always clean and bright.

Incredible selection of healthy vegan foods, organic vegetables, herbs, spices, coffee & tea, etc. If youre craving some frozen vegan junk food, this place has the most comprehensive selection Ive ever seen--puts Harris Teeters and even Whole Foods selection to shame. Prices are reasonable and staff is friendly also; you can tell they really care with how curated their store is. Support local grocery!

I swung by the store yesterday to give the place a look around. They are WAY better than I could’ve expected! There were so many vegan products, I was actually baffled! I’m a transitioning vegan so the fact I just found one shop that has EVERYTHING i could possibly need to help my transition go smoothly is even better! As expected, their prices are not cheap but reasonable for what you’re paying for. Definitely a go-to food store if you’re looking for a vegan shop or a place that sells non-chemical items!

If they dont have it here then youre on the wrong planet. They have the best selection for vegan foods, mixes, sauces and their frozen food section is fantastic. They also have supplements, breads, snacks, gluten-free fare and a great assortment of vegan cheeses and yogurts. Cants say enough good things about this shop!

Products can be a bit pricey, as you would expect for organic/local/vegan items, but there is a free online membership program where one can order online at a 15 percent lower markup. Great selection of organic produce, vegan products, and other items for food restrictions. Also carries CBD products.

The clerks were very knowledgeable. This is a small business and worthy of our (the publics) support. Prices are now competitive with large chains too.

Great little neighborhood store that carries items that are hard to find at nearby chains. They were the only place I could find coconut flour.

While I love how I can get rarer vegan products that I cant get at chain grocery store, I have a major issue with how they run their business. I will come in and what appears to be a manager or owner will be sitting in a chair in the corner and will randomly decide to acknowledge me, depending on the day I go in. There are either no other employees or 3 or 4 who dont seem to understand customer service. Ive been in the store for ten minutes, mind you there are 4 aisles, and 3 employees didnt acknowledge me. One was on his headphones doing inventory and only head-bob greeted me after passing by me about 10 times. Are headphones really appropriate when there are customers in the store?The pricing is constantly changing and despite all the employees, they can never seem to keep the labels updated. Every time I seem to spend 5 minutes comparing the prices on say vegan cheese, find the cheapest, have it rung up, and then as I walk out I see on my receipt that I was charged a higher price I was trying to avoid. This happens with pretty much any sale item Ive ever grabbed. The first few times I shopped here I didnt realize until I got home and didnt want to go back for $2.50 but thats money the store pocketed out of, most likely unintentional, dishonesty. After checking out I now immediately walk back to the shelves to make sure the prices match up. One item was rung up 10 cents cheaper but three other items were incorrect. Ive really got to wonder how much money theyve made from this practice.In their refrigerated room they have a small shelf of discounted items. Ive seen products Ive wanted but they still seemed a little pricey, so I would wait another week to see if they were discounted further. Ive come back 2 weeks later and an expired product from the previous visit is still sitting there, now 2 weeks past date, and the same price. I didnt think it was legal to sell expired foods.If youre looking for a great selection of vegan and organic groceries, definitely check this store out, but dont expect real customer service.

This is my go to place for water, since they have a reverse osmosis dispenser. I also like their selection. Fruits and veggies are a little expensive, but they are always fresh.

My fiance enjoys coming here and I also enjoy coming here everything is great and people have so much information that it helps out and buying other items.
