First time I have been in The Fresh Market. Loved the set up. Selections are awesome!!!!! Unfortunately I was pressed for time and couldnt look around much. Highly recommend for vegan and plant based foods

The store is clean, well lit, and well organized. The associate at the bakery and the cashier were very friendly. The store has unique items. The prices are high so beware.

Horrible service; rude staff at checkout and at meat counter and selling molded foods. Manager aware of issue and said they are working on it but they need to get it it together.

A fine top shelf grocery store. Excellent selection of meats and cuts, fresh seafood, fresh baked breads, pastries, and sweet and savory baked goods of all kinds. Many good wines, a decent selection of domestic, craft and imported beer, domestic and imported cheeses, gourmet snacks ( including chips crackers, dips, spreads, chocolates and candies, gelato, ice cream, etc., etc...) They even have salmon jerky (a favorite of my better half). There is a really nice olive/antipasto bar, but, personally, I dont know if Ill ever go back to those after Covid. Dont forget a top notch produce department and a knowledgeable and friendly staff. Of course, its pricey. Not unreasonably so, really, and you definitely get what you pay for in this instance.

High prices but the cleanest store in town. The butcher counter is top quality for both product and advice. Check their daily and weekly specials, and if youre on a budget, plan on multiple trips a week to save money by hitting the various sales. Beef and chicken deals are Tue/Wed and fish is on Friday, with roasted chickens on Thursday.

Great local shop for goods you cant find on regular markets, good oils and spices. Wine selection is good but pricier than other places.

New favorite grocery store. I love that they have fresh peanut butter grinders and a ton of bulk bins for people trying to go waste-free.

I love this place. The staff is super helpful and they carry tons of stuff that you just cant find other places. The meat and fish is very high quality. Their vegetables selection is always great. If I cooked more, I would shop here weekly.

Went in for Instacart shopping and it was a lovely experience. Its not a large store but has just about everything you need for your grocery trip. The staff was friendly and the music was relaxing. Ill definitely consider shopping there occasionally for myself.

Its nice my co workers and I enjoy this fresh market daily. We work at the tattoo shop near by so were always getting drinks, food, plants and most importantly cake. We buy lots of cake. 😂 We love the bakery section. 🎂 keep up the good work. The staff is awesome.

Their BBQ baked chicken is amazing! They also have delicious almond croissants.

Everyone was so nice when I came in and greeted me everywhere I went. I was having trouble paying and the lady behind me paid for my groceries! This was my first experience here and it was a good one!

I visit this store occasionally. I would shop here more often; however, it is so ultra deluxe in its offerings that I honestly cant afford to shop here regularly.Oh what an amazing market! Everything you ever wished for is here from fresh food to purchase, amazing bakery and cakes, organic everything. Its as if you have walked into a beautiful slice of heaven. Wines of all sorts, sumptuous produce - you name it.Plus free coffee to sample!Its a market you will want to visit and shop again and again. The ambiance will send you...the lusciousness will keep you coming back again and again.

Great experience everytime! I have been shopping here for years now. They have a great selection of high quality foods. I particularly love their seafood and produce.

Normally, I love going into the Fresh Market for the experience. I enjoy checking out the seasonal specials, and getting cooking ideas from the Little Big Meals. However on my recent visit I was underwhelmed by the service and attitudes of some of the employees. I arrived around 8:00 p.m. on a Tuesday night and in most sections, employees were busy closing down their stations. The person servicing the deli counter was mopping and clearly ignoring the fact that I was standing there. When another employee walked by she called out to the young man behind the counter to let him know he had a customer. He told her he knew, and kept on mopping a few more seconds before turning around to help me. He was neither kind nor apologetic, even though I tried to be exceptionally cheery. What the store manager should impress upon personnel, especially at a small, fresh format chain like Fresh Market is that people shop there for the experience - the coffee samples, the smell of the bakery, etc. With high prices, you expect top level customer service. Shoppers have other options, especially with Harris Teeter increasing their offerings of home meal solutions, organic produce, etc. If the experience isnt worth my time, I wont return - and I know I am not alone. So Fresh Market Norfolk, please properly train your staff in excellent customer service, and remind them that the store does not close at 8:00. Every person who comes to spend their money in your store should have the same good experience.

Great fresh meats and produce, with a wide selection of quality grocery products. Not the place to get your standard processed foods or drinks. They have what looks like a decent wine selection but Im not an expert on wines so Ill defer as to their quality.

This is where I go to buy all the special goodies that make me happy: cheeses, meat, deli dishes, snacks, fresh oj, exotic ingredients, orchids. Friendly staff, relaxing decor and atmosphere, a pleasant shopping experience always!

On May 5, 2015 I went into the Fresh Market location in Norfolk and met Mickey in the produce section. Mickey was very informative, showed me the Tuesday deals and Saturday deals. He also turned me on to the Opal apples. He gave me a taste test and stated that he could make the apple taste better. I asked him how he could do that and he gave me a sample of the apple dipped into the Honey Roasted peanut butter. It was awesome. Kudos to Mickey!!!!! Love the store, I can spend ours in there!!

A little too high end for my blood, I have a hard time paying$5 for a cookie 🍪, but the quality is 5 Star also! They carry barrels of every kind of coffee, home made peanut butter and almond butter. Cold drinks, fresh 🍣 sushi. And meats. I get my plants from the floral department. Nice selection, large selection of teas and organic foods.

I have always loved The Fresh Market. They have fun ingredients that are hard to find in a typical grocery store, and sometimes items that are hugely discounted compared to the local chain. Their prepared items from the bakery, desserts, meats and seafood.. all very incredible as well. Their $20-25 weekly meal combinations are typically great also, and give a wonderful excuse to drive the extra distance to visit this store. Very pleasant and helpful staff as well!

Very clean and calm atmosphere. Smells amazing all the time. Great for finding specific ingredients and/or compounds that may not be available elsewhere. The only bad thing would be that its the absolute worst place to lose impulse control. You have to be strong-willed because the price point is higher than traditional grocery stores.

Ive been to the location in 21st Street in Norfolk dozens of times. Love the place and will return, but this time I walked out after watching the 1 - count em, 1 - worker in the deli wait on to customers that showed up after I started waiting. He wasnt being malicious, he just never looked in my direction. Ill skip going back here until its cost them a couple of hundred dollars, then start going back.

This store is wonderful, a wide variety of products, amazing coffees you can purchase or sample a cup and get the beans in store. A counter with fresh meats and fish. There is a salad bar, cheese counter, deli and many excellent ideas for lunch and dinners as well. The staff is great as well, friendly, helpful and willing to chat about recipes and how they cook things ! My own personal experience was getting the dinner special yesterday which was salad, meat, veggies, a choice of cheese and dinner rolls. They went above and beyond for me. I have a personal allergy to Mushroom they made me a veggie tray sans mushrooms. It made my night so thank you wonderful employees at Fresh Market.

The service along with the quality of fresh meat and produce make Fresh Market one of my favorite stores. It has an excellent selection of local and Regional beers. The prices are slightly higher than other stores, but the sale days accompanied by the better experience make it worth while

Great variety of healthy food but they are very pricey and IMO, not for much reason. The clementine bags had several rotten, the cheddar cheese on display for pairing with fruit was very moldy.. makes me wonder about the rest of the freshness. Ive spent hundreds $$ here but I dont know if Ill keep coming back. The bad cheese really got me thinking.

I love this place! It is well laid out. The music creates a wonderful ambience. Everything from the meats, to the breads, to the pastries, are all fresh. The fruits and vegetables are just wonderful. However, what makes this place so special are the people. They are friendly, professional, and a real joy. This Fresh Market is a great place to go. I love the coffee, the chicken breasts, the salads, the breads...oh and all of the pastries...just wonderful.

First time here and I experienced a clean store, friendly associates, lots of specials (2 for Tuesdays & 1/2 of specials) The meat department really knows their stuff. Produce is super fresh and neatly stacked with plenty of varieties. Ill be back!

The fresh market is a lovely grocery store. We shop here very frequently. Its very clean and the service is very friendly.They are happy to check on an item thats out of stock. They make suggestions when they see you buy an item frequently. The selection here is great. The bakery is fabulous. We love the baguettes and croissants. We even take some of the prepared food to potlucks and stuff.Its a little pricier than other stores. But its worth it because the produce is fresher and there are never lines longer than 2 people and the service is super friendly.

Great place for a sugar fix

A great place to get things for a meal or two. Very good bakery and deli, large produce section and florist. This is a small store, so it wont be a place to go stock up on items for a week or more. The staff are very courteous as well.

This specialty grocery store is amazing! Every health food option you could want! Lovely, cozy design and layout, friendly staff, and amazing food bars ranging from salads to soup to rows of candy by the pound! Its a bit pricier than other stores, but I love the all natural variety and atmosphere here! =D

I absolutely love this store. The produce and products are incredible. One can get a higher standard and variety products here than your normal grocery store. It also has a pleasant atmosphere and a wonderful staff. This is my favorite place to shop.

I really like this grocery chain. This store is specifically very nice. Its clean, organized, and easy to move through the store even when its crowded.They have a good selection of local and organic produce, as well as similar selection of products throughout the store. They also have a very nice meat/seafood selection.The staff is always friendly and attentive. There are some good deals scattered throughout the store, but for the most part dont come here expecting to save a lot of money, it tends to be a bit pricey.

Its a nice, clean, Well Laid out store with a pretty good variety of products.They lean a little towards prepared foods - a great thing for those who prefer this availability.They also have a rather large bulk section, which is really nice to see.

What can I say, I absolutely love this store. Im not sure if its a setup because Ive been to other Fresh Markets, but I always come back to this store because I just love the look and the feel of being in there and shopping.

I am a faithful Fresh Market shopper. Even though we have many new and emerging grocery stores in the area I still chose Fresh Market. I do wish they would put their bulk nuts and candy in cylinders, because Ive seen people put their hands in and dig in and walk around the store and eat. I think that is very unsanitary.

The store is well organized and clean. Without being crammed or having the feel of a warehouse, there is a large selection. The range of fresh produce is amazing! The whole store is a treat for foodies and although Im not one, Ill return with pleasure.

I like the store well enough. There is always a good and varied selection in the meat department, where the prices are often better than the local Harris Teeter, which surprised me. Produce is always fresh. Its not realistic to do your entire weekly shopping there if you have a large family, as I do, simply because their offerings of dry and canned foods just arent sufficient. Dairy is a touch more expensive than most chain grocery stores, but the product lines they carry are going to be a big more robust.This is a good place to go if youre seeking things that arent always offered other places, such as tallow (decent quality) lard, duck fat, etc. for cooking. I dont have any dietary restrictions, but were I vegetarian/vegan/gluten intolerant etc, etc, etc, I think I would be pretty happy as the store seems to cater to that customer base quite well. I go here often, and am generally pleased with my experiences.

Out of licorice wheels, fruit tarts and lemon bars?!?!? All in all a nice store. My cashier was awesome!
