I was told yesterday by Jim that my car would be done @3 so I call at 3:15 to give them time and I had to call 10+ times no one answered once so I drive there and it’s CLOSED @ 3:20 when actual closing time was 4pm. And good luck trying to get an update on your car here. Mechanic team was great. Front desk not so much. If my cars not done or it won’t be for a few days SAY THAT! Don’t lead me on I have a job I have a child I need my car and the least you could do is give me an estimated time and be truthful. I will never take my car back here. BUT whoever mike is who answered the phone this morning thank you! I should’ve taken it to Clay Dooley they’re fast, great with communication, and know what they’re doing! Highly recommend Clay Dooley.

Was visiting the area when the under carriage protection shield came loose on my vehicle & was dragging on the ground. This shop was close by & told me to come in & they would re-attach the shield. Jim was very professional & helpful. It was a late Saturday afternoon & they had other customers but still fit me in their schedule so that I could safely drive my car home. I was very impressed by their service.

I have been coming to Meineke in Normal, IL for years. I have had problems with other shops in town, but never here. Jim has to be one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. Extremely pleasant and helpful. This shop never tries to sell me more than what I need. Anytime I’ve had work done, it’s been explained clearly to me and the prices I’ve paid there seem more than fair, especially in comparison to some of the other places. I even found out today that they have a free towing service if you live within a 5 mile radius, which is saving me a lot of hassle. I’ve never had an issue with my services, and I’ve done almost all my maintenance there. This is a fair, honest place to go. As long as I live in this area, this is where I’ll be taking my vehicles.

Meineke at Venon/Towanda could rectify a mistake done by another shop on my GMC TERRAIN timing chain. The other shop took my money and when I went back complaining that the problem persist. They only told me sell the car. The problem is irreversible. However Meineke proved them wrong as the other shop used right parts but poor workmanship. Thank you meineke for your professionalism.

Employees in this business were very pleasant to talk with as well as very expedient in performing the exhaust repair for me. I was really amazed at the quality and care that all working in this shop showed. My car started having trouble at the end of a brief vacation stay in Bloomington/Normal Illinois - and a kind gentleman named Mike, assisted me at 7:00 am when they opened, had me a diagnosis by 8:30a, and a repair completed by 3pm the next day. (They might have finished it sooner, but parts availability limited them). All staff I interacted with were courteous, gave me reasonable estimates on timelines and costs. Their work is insured/warrantied by any Meineke shop - knowing this was important, as I was from out of town and needed to know that a Meineke shop back home could look at my car should something mess up again.Easy recommend, non-commission paid staff, honest work.

Took longer thank originally told due to parts being faulty (3 times) so that makes me feel like they did a great job checking and making sure everything was perfect before letting me have my car back.

I called on a Monday and made an appointment for Thursday to have an oil change/tire rotation, and also install an oem valve stem, on the phone they confirmed no need to order this part. On Thursday morning they started 30 minutes late in spite of having a 9am appointment, didn’t have the valve stem for my Jeep in spite of confirming the part on the phone, and didn’t bother to rotate the tires at all while the car was lifted. Now I have to schedule another appointment somewhere competent to have the rest of the work done, and my weekend deadline will come and go. Use a different garage if possible, there’s like three right across the street from this place.

I had diagnostic done at this place and they quoted me 1200 to fix it. I took to the actually dealer and they said that the part that they said needed replacement was not it. Im extremely disappointed and I would never recommend this place to anyone. Very rude person helped me and said “ you will have to calm down and take a step backwards” when I asked how long would take the diagnostic. I was extremely mad and almost told the guy who is he to tell me to calm down when I asked a question about my car. They literally just want to get the money and doesn’t car about what you feel or actually car to fix the problem. If I didn’t go to the actually Jeep dealership I would had paid 1200 for something that would not fix my problem. If that had happen I would be extremely mad and would definitely sue this place that has no capacity to fix a engine light.

My daughter has been taking her new car here for a long time. She values the honesty of the mechanics that work here. Shes even had her 3 year old son here a few times and theyve never minded at all.

After waiting for a week for the vehicle to get done, I got it back with a completely dead battery following six calls demanding that I come pick it up because they didnt have the room. . . It took over a week to get it done, give me more than 2 hours to pick it up, especially if you park it and leave it so the battery is dead and I cant even start it in the lot, folks...

Was quoted a price of 69.99. Actually was over $80. Was supposed to rotate the tires. Did not die to uneven wear on back tires. Was not explained to me not what additional cost were. Was told that synthetic oil was good for 5000 miles yet maintenance was set at 3000 miles. Was very unsatisfied with this business. Won’t use again.

Appointments mean nothing to this place. An 8 am oil change took over an hour and the reason was we are a repair shop and repairs come first. I then saw the same guy who told me repairs come first, taking a smoke break. Not one employee, or the two customers waiting were wearing a mask, so I waited outside on a somewhat chilly day. I also got a coupon from the Meineke website for a Synthetic Blend Oil Change for $29.95 but was told after the car was on the lift that it needed some other kind of oil which would cost $70. The coupon says offer valid on most cars and light trucks so, I guess my Outland Sport isnt like most cars. 🤔 I cant stand when companies use bait and switch like this. Needless to say, I wont be patronizing this business anytime soon. Im giving them 2 stars instead of the 1 they probably deserve since Ill give them the benefit of the doubt that my car wont blow up because of their work.03/22/2021 Update. As the owner response to this review shows, I contacted Meinekes customer service. I received a reply, 9 days after submitting a form, with a generic response that seems like they didnt even read my comment. That reply does not make me feel like a valued customer and I still will not be giving Meineke my business.

Great service. Little later than expected, but there were some unexpected problems that delayed the time frame. For how busy they were, I was impressed with the turnaround. Definitely will be using them again.

I came in with the intent of using a coupon that I got in the mail for an oil change for 17.95. This flyer had this specific location on a map printed directly onto it. I made my appointment online for 1:00, showed up at that time, and was greeted pretty flippantly by the receptionist. When I told him I had the coupon, he informed me that the owner would not honor the coupon, and 19.95 was the lowest he’d go. Even though this is the only thing that brought me in in the first place, I decided I was already there so I’d accept the unexpected cost. I sat down to wait and quickly realized that none of the employees or customers had masks on, including the receptionist. The reception area wasn’t exactly spacious, so that was worrying to me. After waiting for an hour, the mechanic finally got to my car. He said my tank took more oil than the basic oil change covered, so I would have to pay $5 more per quart. When trying to ask for the details, including how many extra quarts I would actually need, he treated me like I was stupid and didn’t have time for my questions. After an hour and a half of waiting for an oil change around a lobby full of unmasked people, I finally made it out of there, paying ten dollars more than I had expected to pay. Don’t go here if you want to be respected or dealt with honestly.

Before coming to Meineke we were unaware that the Mazda 3 we own had a major suspension problem. Initially all it was there for was an oil change. But when the technician found this issue, Mike the service advisor call immediately to inform us. He expressed to us that this repair was very necessary, and understood that since we are selling the car we didnt want to sink a lot of money into it. A few repairs were left undone because it wasnt detrimental to the safety of the car.I appreciate that the repair was done in a timely manner, the price was as reasonable as possible, and most of all they showed they care about their customers safety. I felt I received outstanding service, and that explains why theyre always busy, because others had to experience the same outstanding and caring service!

Very Bad experience got car towed to them as brake paddle was jammed there was burning smell coming from brakes.They gave bill of 800$ and fixed nothing .Have to get vehicle towed to another place.

This was very unexpected, but it just shows you how this Meineke location goes above and beyond for their customers. This business showed and demonstrated extreme knowledge regarding my vehicle repairs. The maintenance of my vehicle to be back on the road without any worry or further need of repair, was exceptional. The cost was nowhere near what I had been quoted at a previous shop (and Meineke was not aware of that quote). The technician repaired all items and test drove my vehicle to give me the confidence, I needed as a single woman, one vehicle owner, etc.; that all repairs where completed and nothing else was wrong. I truly appreciated all their management and owner skills in resolving all my concerns.

I recently visited this shop to have my muffler replaced on my Jeep Wrangler and cannot say enough about the staff at this facility. All staff were super nice and finished my exhaust very quickly. I had a very pleasant experience and would definitely recommend this facility to anyone that asked. Thank you gentlemen for taking such good care of me and my Jeep.

They didn’t fix two of the important things i asked them to fix - a broken door latch and my DRL. i told them i could change my own air filter but they took the old one out instead of leaving it in so i’m left with no air filter until i have the time to fix it

Brakes are done, but they werent bled correctly at all ( still air in lines) and Im pretty sure the parking brake hasnt been reconnected.

We have had our oil changed here for a while. We scheduled an appointment a few days ago for 8:30 this morning, but when we showed they were already so far behind they said come back at 1 for an appointment. Got there at 1 and they said sorry we cant do it. Well we have a 10 hour drive tomorrow so this is not ok.

The team at Meineke provided excellent, fast and friendly service and went above and beyond to fit the work into my schedule.

Jim and Mike got my daughter all set and worked overtime to find a solution she could afford. They really helped our family out and Im glad to find another honest and courteous business I can rely on in town. I wholly recommend this shop and its management!

I brought my vehicle in to check it’s brake pads but ended up finding out my brakes were fine but I had a destroyed axel joint and a leaking brake line. Jim called me and told me the news, I drive an old car so I wanted his opinion on the fix Vs just going and buying new. He was honest about what he would do and why he would do it. Jim is a great guy to meet when you go in, he will take the time to make sure you make the best decision and he even stayed late so that I could pick it up the same day! If you want to be given the time of day, get your car fixed here! I hadn’t found a great place to get my car fixed in town until I found Meineke!

The service here was great! They explained in detail the issues with my car and kept my safest interest in mind when determining what I should do for repairs. Jim and Mike were very helpful and I will be going back if I have any other problems!

I am an Uber Driver and they require an auto inspection once a year. Meineke does these inspections for a very reasonable price.

I went into Meineke because my brakes were a bit squeaky. They took my car on a test drive and thought the brakes were fine. But after taking the tires off, did find that the back brakes were slightly worn. The manager took the time to show me the issue and left the decision up to me . They did not push me to purchase replace since the wear was slight . I went ahead with the back brakes. They were quick and also rotated my tires. They impressed me with their professionalism.

I had my oil changed and tail light (led lights) looked at the other day. Mike who is at the front desk was so nice and accommodating from the time I called to the time I picked up my car later that afternoon. He kept me updated on what was going on and did research for me as well for a part, was very honest and up front with me. The technician who I did not talk to I know did a lot of work to test out the problem. I would highly recommend these guys and will be going back in the future for any of my car troubles. This is about an issue I am facing with my Honda Odyssey. When I turn the wheel of my van, I hear some strange noise. And so, I took my van to another local auto repair shop (not Meineke) a year ago to fix this issue. They charged me around $500 to change the power steering pump but unfortunately, the issue never got fixed.This time, I took my van to Meineke Car Care Center to hear their opinion on this issue. I met Mike there and explained the problem...After careful examination, they gave me an honest and truthful assessment!In their opinion, it is better to take my van to a local Honda dealership rather than getting it fixed at Meineke as this particular problem is best addressed with original parts from the manufacturer rather than through after market parts.I am thrilled to see their honest assessment. Instead of fixing it up from their shop, they gave me honest feedback which shows their care and respect toward the customer.Thank you Mike & Meineke!I strongly recommend Meineke to all my friends!

Took my Commander to have CV Shafts replaced. The techs destroyed my ABS sensor while doing the job and charged me for the replacement. I was called back to the shop to assist in the repair a few times. When my Commander was completed it had a brand new sound. Something grinding on the front driver side. They were not capable of handling this repair. The staff was fun, courteous, respectful.I decided to trade in my Commander. The dealer fixed it and they told me the wrong size shaft was installed on the driver side. That’s what made the noise.

I called Mike on a Monday morning describe to him that I had an exhaust flange that needed to be repaired. But I also had a funeral to go to at 2 PM that day. I took my vehicle in and he called me with the price that was going to cost with possible red flags. That was by 9 AM. They finished the repair a little bit before 11 AM and I could get on the road . Thanks for your service Mike, you and your team did a great job

I’ve been coming to this store for many yearsThat says a lot about this store in particular.Fast, efficient, and very courteous no one has ever talked down to me nor treated me as if I didn’t matter.It’s been times the owner has sat in the car with me to see how it drives and to hear a sound. 10/10 great place, I did spend a number of hours waiting but I didn’t mind at all. It’s not the first time I’m spent the better part of a day waiting for car repairs.While I was sitting I overheard them talking to others and they’re priority was definitely safety and I appreciate that.I was overdue for a lot and they went over everything they found and helped to get the most important things handled to make sure my car was running and safe so that’s awesome!Also best price for an oil change I think I’ve ever had. $70 ish for full synthetic normally I pay 80-90 so yeThey are uber nice and I’ll definitely be back when I need more stuff done

Jim, Shane, and company are top-notch at affordable, quick service, and honest work. I have been there a number of times and always receive clear communication about what is needed and what isn’t, which is refreshing as a female. The dealer quoted me 1200.00 for replacing my brakes. Jim did the work for half. The parts were to come in later than expected and Jim seamlessly arranged transportation for me As a single mother, it was refreshing to have someone arrange a solution and not require me to do extra work. I’m grateful Jim and Shane because when my car needs work, I don’t dread the experience as I did with other places.

I was driving home and my ABS light came on. I called Shane at Meineke and he told me not to worry, I could bring it in the next day. When I dropped it off, I remembered I had an appointment. Jim threw me the keys to his personal car and said to bring it back after work. When I came back Jim has looked back at my service records and found that my parts were under warranty. I paid nothing. He took me in the garage and the mechanic explained that there was a defect in the hub and sensor. He patiently answered my questions and I was on my way. Jim and Shane made things so easy. I feel like I can trust them to work on my car. The guys at the shop do a great job! I recommend them highly!

Always professional and trustworthy

Dropped vehicle off with instructions to not exceed estimate without contacting me. Upon arrival, bill significantly exceeded estimate given. Based on explanation, estimate was intentionally miswritten plus shop advised me that a coupon is available online and to use it when paying for repair. Upon presentation of coupon to pick up vehicle, the coupon is handed back to me after they highlight custom parts are excluded. If custom parts, why tell me about coupon? It is a regular car. Still have noise from exhaust. Considering the higher cost, other shop quotes were actually less. Very disappointed. Shop is friendly which is why I thought they could be trusted.

Mike got me right in to assess the problem and fixed up fairly quickly. Next time I was driving out on the road I had a completely different issue come up and pulled in to the shop. Once again, right in on the lift, confirmed it was a new issue and had nothing to do with what had already been fixed. Got me fixed up and out the door in a very timely manner. I will definitely use and recommend this shop again.

The staff were very friendly, but I was very disappointed in the service. About a year ago, I went to them to recharge my A/C. Staff informed me that I needed to have my shrader valve replaced because if I didnt, the coolant would eventually escape and Id eventually have to get it recharged again. So I agreed. The A/C worked for the rest of the summer, but this summer, it didnt work and would only blow out hot air. I called Meineke to ask about it as I was frustrated with driving around in the heat as the days have gotten hotter and hotter. I spoke with Jim last night to ask if this is normal given they replaced my shrader valve last summer. He asked who completed the work and when I said that they had, he said immediately for me to bring it in and they would take care of it. I came in this morning and they lifted the car up and I thought they were going to fix the problem, but then I was told I needed to spend about $120 to have freon and leak detection dye added to the system and then, if there was an issue with the shrader valve, I wouldnt have to pay for that. Which was nice, but the cost of the freon and leak detection dye from my receipt from last year was only $34.95 (technically, it was $17.48 because Id had a coupon). I guess the rest of the cost was going to be for labor. I dont know, perhaps my expectations were unreasonable. I was just so excited when Jim had told me that they would fix it that I didnt realize they meant only after I fork over a fist full of cash. I thought they were taking accountability for the issue and going to fix it. Maybe I would have to pay for the coolant, but that 100+ dollars just seemed like a lot. And why did they wait until my car has been brought in and hoisted up to mention the cost? Did they not know this would be needed? Again, staff were polite and they were able to get me in right away. The gentleman at the front desk apologized for not wearing a face mask while in the lobby and he was friendly and genial. He stressed that I would need to have the leak detection dye added to my car eventually and recommended that I talk with my husband about it. TLDR summary: They were certainly never rude and they didnt perform any work without my authorization, so I wasnt charged for anything today. However, I was really let down by the fact that they urged me to come in right away so they could fix their problem and then revealed that they wanted to charge me over 100 dollars to do so. Had I known, I wouldnt have made the appointment.

Meineke was able to save me money i was told my water pump was making loud noise and was going out. after they got my vehicle in and diagnosed it, the alternator was on its last round. it cost little more for the alternator but saved me from spending money for a unnecessary waterpump. drove later that night wow my lights were even brighter! so pleased with them going back to have another issue taken care of when i have the funds. thanks guys!!
