They have quite a hodge podge of items at fair prices! Half of the store is the footwear department! Many obscure items throughout!

I love this place. The prices are amazing g and you can find almost any non perishable item you want/need! Friendly staff and bring a box or bag for your purchases.

An incredible discount food store with a wide variety of vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and soy-free options. Many products are way cheaper then youd ever see them at the grocery or convenience store. I gave it four stars because a few products arent much of a deal at all; I question why they have individual ramen packs that are close to their Best by... date and are priced 3 for $5 when a new 6-pack is $4 at local stores. This store is extremely friendly to immigrants and migrant families, Spanish-only speakers, queer folks and trans people.

This place used to have great deals. Now it’s 20% off for almost expired items. It seems like someone just learned how to use the internet and marks down based on the first thing they search. I used to literally spend thousands here stocking up on things. Not anymore, unfortunately. Also, it was insulting the owner followed me around the store like I was gonna steal something(he thought he was being slick)after being such loyal costumer for years.

This store not only has great prices, natural and organic foods, but also clothing, shoes, and household items. But the best part is the customer service. During the pandemic, they have worked constantly to serve the community providing gloves, sanitizer and the most clean environment. They strive to take care of the customers, they bring what you need and ask for, they cater to you. But they also put food outside for those in great need, and many times, me and my family have eaten the food they leave out for the community. They are kind, happy, serious workers. My family appreciates very much that they have been there for us through these hard times. Please go and look around with time, and see for yourself. I suggest weekdays in the morning because the store gets packed, although during the pandemic, the numbers are limited on how many can go inside at a time. This is our store. Make it yours too.

Prices are great, like half the price of whole foods for the same products. No returns & no guarantees theyll keep getting the same products (they get overstock, thats why theyre cheap), but totally worth it.

Had what we need at great prices!

Terrible!! I bought a pair of shoes never got told they were final sale! Even though they say you get notified at checkout!! Wrong!!! I wouldn’t be calling!! Especially a healthcare worker myself fighting in this pandemic I tried to buy myself a new pair of shoes the owner wouldn’t even let me exchange for bigger size had little tags in box and receipt! Will not get my business again! Not for the customer!!

Awesome discount store! Its such a great spot for college students and low income folks. Wide selection and great prices. I always get dorm snacks, vitamins, and toiletries here.

Kind of not what I was expecting. I dont know if it was just because it was in Northampton. There was mainly earthy crunchy brands of everything. No normal average brand anything. We felt it was extremely pricey also.

This is a place that is hit or miss so you really cant go in with any expectations. Right now only 20 people at one time so you may have to wait but we were first in line so the wait wasnt long. They had a lot of gluten free options.

We were super excited when we first found this store. Unfortunately on my most recent trip (which we planned a whole day around coming from Albany), we were shocked to find how much the prices have risen. Literally, a good deal of it was the same price you would find in a regular store. Still love the people that own it, etc. But my goodness.

Cheap, but thats the point. Food for sale is ok but expired or just expired. Did I say its cheap though ?? Btw they dont make change for the parking meters even though you are going in to shop there.

Theyve been so incredible and helpful during this covid time. I called to see if they have curbside pickup and not only do they have this service, but they will walk around the store and shop with you! They put me on facetime so I could see the items in the store and helped me with the ingredients for my corn allergy. Really great service! The owners have been wonderful, and Ivy (co-owner) is so kind going around the store with me, and helps to find exactly what Im looking for. I love D&S anyway, but had to share this extra level of care and service. Thank you all!

Some items really are a deal and/or steal but I know that some things can be better priced elsewhere. I have gotten some really great purchases from the sale/clearance rack for expired/about to expire products whether it be snacks or cosmetics. As this is a store where items may vary each time you return, it is best to go in with little expectation, yet never leaving empty handed. Dry goods, bulk protein bars, beauty or cosmetics, clothing or shoes.. you are likely to find something, for yourself or others.

What an amazing owner, and the people who work there too are great. Deals ‘n steals has healthy and natural products for half the price of Whole Foods. They also leave a lot of food out of the store, for free, so people who can’t afford food, can eat as well. This place feeds seniors and people living in poverty, as well as offering food at a discounted rate. I am a very satisfied customer.

Also great for organic baby food, discounted diapers etc. Their clearance section is perfect for those looking for super cheap healthy favorites.

Very secureWhen entering there is hand sanitizer, then they give you gloves to wear. Very tight quarters but they only allow so many to enter at a time. Too clausterphobic for me. No mask, no entry like all Northampton businesses right now. I dont find the prices to be any better than anywhere else depends on what your shopping for.

This is a great place to stock up on dry goods. In truth it would be more accurately named Deals, Steals, and a Bunch of Normally Priced Items. There are some very good bargains if you look hard enough, but dont go in expecting to find everything at a discount.I dont shop here when Im on a diet, because its way too easy to stock up on very discounted high-quality junk food... Jerky, chips, candy... Its just a dangerous store.

This is one of my favorite places before going into downtown Northhampton Ma. It has all the things you want, need and a few surprises. Well worth the trip and its even better since its expanded Ive been going here since the 90s youll love it..

On sale for $29.99 a great pair of shoes, warm,water proof and very comfortable. Realtree brand.UPDATE ON MERCHANDISE What I had thought was water proof was not. The upper separated from the sole of the shoes in the most needed areas. Needless to say the shoes look cool but are not good for the snow or rain.

Come for the high quality, inexpensive groceries, stay for the awesome staff. This place is a gem.

All organic, expired shelf life food. This is my favorite place for pantry staples. Their tea and hot sauce selection is pretty astounding. But watch out for the Buy 1, Get 4 bags of chips deals. No one needs that many chips.

Has mix of shoes, boots even some sandals at discounted prices. Clothing. Dog & cat food. Too much to list here but all at less than normal retail prices. A bit like a treasure hunt. Lots of fun to shop. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Since product varies I stop in every time I go to town!

If youre in town, try them out. Stock changes often enough, and youre going to get some great prices.Keep in mind that due to the confusion nature of best by dates, some people might get scared off when products are past that date. Theyre mostly meaningless dates. Just watch Adam Ruins Everything on YouTube if you dont believe me.

Sadly it,seems like there have been more steals than deals here lately. They have cameras everywhere and you are not allowed to bring in large purses or bags. Nice little gem though for a small yet wide array of items from snacks to hiking boots!

I like to call it health food that fell off a truck. In a good way! I can buy the same foods that would cost A LOT more at other stores, and I dont care if the packaging has tears or dents. Think of it like a tag sale; you cant count on particular items being in stock, but when you find items you know you want, you will be thrilled by the price.

Went here for the frist time . This place is awesome everything from food, clothing, shoes let me tell you about the shoes awesome shoes and boots high-end for Low low low prices. So much organic foods its great for people who would love to eat healthy but just dont have the income to be able to. I didnt make it out of the store without spending over 150.00 . But there was an awesome pair of hiking boots for only 49.95 water proof really insulated,very comfortable hiking boot. Had to have them . Great selection of jellies, honeys, pastas, chocolates oh my gosh the chocolates and they have the greatest deals on chips tortilla, chips, flavored chips,popcorn all kinds of high-end flavors and Styles. buy one for 2.99 get 2 free. I was also looking for and found gluten-free wheat-free pastas they had an awesome Bean pasta it just delicious and then there was a tomato pasta, rice pastas,cookies all types, you just have to go and really take some time, look thur all the different special items. Really go up and down the aisles is absolutely great . leather goods to purses, wallets, socks, shirts, jackets .Im telling you this place is great and from what I understand its constantly change . The foods are always the same, to some degree but the shoes, boots,clothes, jackets, leather wallets are always changing .. ... get on down to seals and deals youll be glad you did.

I had originally rated this store as four stars but wow what a disappointment nowadays. Prices are ridiculous for past date, overstocks and discontinued products. I pay less for some of their items at the co-op store! Sad it was a great place.

Natural foods and discounted Cloathing combined.Little hard to get I to now but worth it. This store is not a big box its very trendy. Staff are small and can be busy quarters are cramped but they go out of there way to help you.Foods tend to be pantry fillers. No milk or cold items.

I used to come here all the time for stuff that was a quarter of the price and still perfectly good to eat. Now it seems like other than products passing the expiration date, all they have is far too many employees clogging the narrow aisles. Recently, most of their stuff is being priced OVER what you can find it for elsewhere so theres not much point coming here anymore. Im sure theyre paying a fortune for that location; I wouldnt be surprised to see them close shop in the near future.

The owner got all red-faced and yelled at my 70 year old mother. Who does that?? Genuine Uggs are found cheaper online. As far as the food section, I wanted natural maple syrup and creamed honey. They had neither. Mostly broken pita crackers and the like. Hated it. :(

A great cheap adventure in a grocery store! Its kinda like a thrift store in a way where you dont really know what youre gonna find. But thats the fun part and of course the price too! Some of the items are past the expiry date, but is only like 50¢ or a dollar. I would say its safe as long as it dry. Usually the expiry date is actually just for the quality not the safety. I personally dont get anything with water content. Fancy dry food like chips are nice and super cheap? Hell yah!

Love some if the special things they get in. I have some favorites that seem to sell out quickly many times.

Im a devotee of such shops. I live in Greenfield and shop at The Barn, yet experiences at Deals and Steals cause me to no longer shop there.I bought granola at Deals and Steals which turned out to be infested with moths. They filled my food cabinet and have been difficult to get rid of.I bought a five-pound bag of raw chick peas at Deals and Steals that were so hard they could not be cooked. I think that happens to dry peas and beans when they are old. I dont get to Northampton often, and when I do Deals and Steals is often closed (nights and Sundays), thus about three months later I was able to bring in the peas and request a refund. Management declined, advising me that too much time had passed since I purchased them.Thus, Ive purchased some food at Deals and Steals that was infested, and some that could not be eaten, and experienced a quality of customer service that was less than one would hope for. I now shop elsewhere.

Very unprofessional owner with very little to offer people. They put an item for clearance and told me if I bought it at another store it would be 5 times more, I told them then I will buy 3 of them to sell on ebay. Then I find out they sell for the same price as the store. So the same day I went to return the item and they offered a store credit instead of cash. I tried to reason with the people at the cash register and they then got frustrated and told me to leave the store. I said that is stealing and if you make me leave before I get a chance find 250 dollars worth of stuff I will go to the police station. Next thing you know the owner calls the police on me and demand that they put a restraining order on me from the store from 2 years. The police apologized for their inconvenience. All the customers got sickened and left, very unprofessional.

There are some amazing bargains here. Just watch out for stuff thats out of date and priced just like other stores. Otherwise, the use by dates are very recent, so not an issue.

Ive never had a bad experience yet, but you have to question the reviews on here where people buy food from a store that stocks things that are marked as past date, wait three months to return the food, and then wonder why they are declined. Only a jerk does something like that and gets upset about it.
