I sold my car in approximately 45 minutes. It was quite easy, I just checked in with the business office, waited for them to check the car, sat in a nice clean waiting area, and then they emerged with my offer. The offer was exactly what I was quoted online, which was great (I had actually expected it to be a little less). The quote was great and quite a bit higher than another online quote I received. So overall it was a great experience, highly recommend.

This was a second chance purchase after I had a not so good experience at another store elsewhere. This time the experience was great! Doug was awesome as a salesman, and David was great as the office paperwork guy. I drove a car for a week and it was not comfortable for me at all. So I returned a week later and upgraded to a Honda CR-V. They made everything easy and were extremely helpful.

After the car was purchased I received zero attention. They waited a full eight days to provide a registration despite my daily calls, and even BLOCKED me on the seventh day. I had to call several managers and waited on hold hours by the time I received my registration on the eighth day. Legally, I had only seven days to receive this and because of their lack of wherewithal I had to drive my car illegally for an entire day. The absolute worst service I have ever received. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional.

Bought a car there but the process was not very good. Had an appointment. Got there early. Still waited 40 mins past my appointment time before being helped despite a couple groups of salespeople chatting with each other about sports - clearly no one is managing things in the front of the house. Once helped, it was a pretty cold process where the people seem to be far more interested in selling you an extended warranty than the actual car. Purely transactional place - if they have the car you cant find elsewhere - great. Otherwise, you are probably better off buying somewhere else. On the positive side, good place to take a test drive because they were good about letting you go take an extended spin.The pickup experience however was even worse. I had provided all the necessary paperwork and information in the days leading up to getting my car. My pickup was a SCHEDULED pickup at 12noon...I arrived early and filled out what they needed, paid my down payment, gave them my financing documentation (all pre-arranged), gave them my insurance info (had gotten the car insured to my name in advance), then they went in back to get all in order and I waited...and waited...and waited...and waited...I finally drove out of the dealership a little after 3:30pm. It was a complete disaster of an experience. Almost 4 hours.

This was one of the worst automotive buying experiences Ive ever had. The sales team was only interested in talking when they were trying to make the sale. It is impossible to get through to anyone in sales. Was actually put on hold for 30 minutes and no one ever picked up the phone. The business office was very nice but didnt do their job. Tried to transfer plates but was unable to do it because they didnt follow through. They did not communicate problems that should have be resolved in hours not weeks. I had to call them weeks after to find out there were issues.The service department was actually very good to work with but didnt make up for the bad service from Sales and the Business office.

We agreed to buy a car and had it delivered to a store near home to make the pickup convenient. We were under the impression that it would be a few days before we could pick the car up because it needed to be inspected and prepared. It ended up being a full two weeks before we were able to finally get the car. In that time period, I tried to get information about when the car would be ready for pickup. It was very difficult to talk to anyone who could tell me anything useful as their phone calls go to a nation wide call center and they insulate the local stores from taking calls. The people at the call center gave me no help. When I insisted on talking to people at the store near me, they gave me incorrect information. They also were incompetent in coordinating with my me, my lender and my insurance company to get the paperwork needed to complete the transaction. I hope that I had inexperienced people working on my sale that are not representative of how the company operates overall, but based on my one experience it seems that CarMax has some incompetent staff. For me, dealing with CarMax was very frustrating.

The process was painless and fast too. I was happy with the offer I received and even happier to learn that I could hold on to my car for a full 7 days which saved me money from Ubering or renting a car my last week living in Boston. Staff was friendly too . So why the 3 stars ? I was told to bring my title and registration on the day of the appraisal which I did so. The Sales associate clearly reviewed my title and registration at his desk and held onto the documents during the inspection of my car. When the inspection was finished, the salesman returned the documents in the envelopes they came with (or so I thought) but the following week when I returned to Car Max when Roger the business associate opened the title envelope there was no title ! He had to order a copy of the title from the registry for a $25 service fee. I hadnt opened the title or registration envelope all week and assumed the documents were returned safely to the envelopes. I would encourage everyone to check to make sure their documents are returned when visiting there. Spoke to Taylor a manager and he claimed that they would have returned them if found but that was not the answer I was looking for. Other than that, it was a good experience for a quick sale of my vehicle.

Came in for an appraisal on a 2018 f150; They were quick to get the appraisal done (about 45min) and polite. After disclosing that the vehicle was indeed in perfect condition and needed no work/repairs they offered me 8k under trade-in value (according to NADA guides) for the vehicle.

My husband and I had such a great experience with Doug! We needed a second, safe, vehicle that could accommodate our growing blended family. We had visited a CarMax in Albany, two days prior, where we had a less than positive experience. When we walked into the CarMax in Norwood, we were immediately greeted, and although it was last minute, Doug offered to help us find our perfect car. Doug was so welcoming, friendly and professional, and a day after test driving our new Jeep, we drove off the lot with it. The process was so smooth and seamless and both my husband and I were beyond happy. So thank you Doug, and CarMax Norwood for making our car buying experience such a wonderful one!

Process in purchasing was ok as this is my 2nd vehicle with car max. However may be my last. The car was advertised on the website with automatic rear lift gate. Which is did not have. Also the sunroof does not work correctly. I my be bringing to a Kia dealership as I’m not confident in car max to repair or fix it.

Just purchased a vehicle from Carmax in Norwood! Very disappointed with the salesman we worked with. He had no knowledge of selling a vehicle. He was a new salesperson and I was understanding of that. He should have had more training and someone guiding him through the whole process. We’ve had to bring paperwork work back because it wasn’t filled out incorrectly!!! Now we’re waiting on the registration, told it might be 30 days for registration which means I can get the vehicle inspected!! When you call to speak to someone you’re put on hold for a very long time. I’m just upset about how long this process is taking. They gave me the car and I was told they’d have the registration done by today but now told 30 days. There’s a lack of communication and no stronger leader to guide the sales department. As of right now I wouldn’t recommend Carmax to anyone.

Horrible communication, every time I called I was transferred to someone else. All of the salesman that I spoke with at Norwood were rude and not helpful at all with answering questions. My vehicle was supposed to be ready on the 18th but CarMax didn’t have the title until 2 weeks after my car arrived in Norwood. I ended up waiting almost a month all together for my car to be ready after ordering it. CarMax was unable to deliver the vehicle like they had promised. They told me they were short staffed and didn’t have the man power to get the car to me. I will never go through CarMax again and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Started the transaction over 8.21.21 and paid to have the car transferred to Norwood. Car needed repairs and reconditioning and it took weeks to fix. Car was finally shipped to Norwood and due to title issues which I had to call them to find out this information was waiting for my to come test drive. I go into the dealer to test drive it and a few days later come back to run a paint meter on the car. Decide to buy the car and leave my debit card with the sales associate to finalize the purchase. I sent the sales associate an email detailing all the documents needed to get the loan with my bank and insurance from my insurance. No movement after a week and after hours of phone calls between the call center and getting hung up on and after 15-20 minute rings to get to someone live at the Norwood site I finally get a copy of the purchase agreement... then same hours of calls to get a copy of the title to my bank. Then again they need a copy of the RTA and again hours of bouncing around and dealing with the call center and then getting transferred to their business office and then to a sales guy They will need an RTA form which is filled out incorrectly. You win CarMax you have defeated me by death of a thousand cuts. Paid them 800 to transfer the car and they said in a text that it would be refunded. Havent seen that either. Guess its small claims for me now...

I went in yesterday with check book in hand to buy a $35,000 Audi. I asked at the front desk if I could see a salesman, but the young man at the front desk went into full on what do you want to see a salesman for? mode. Well, I said, the car is in Houston and I wat to understand the process for moving the car here and what happens if it is scratched or the brakes need replacing. I can only describe the treatment as hostile. I would never buy a car from this company. He didnt want me to sit with a salesman, just write up the transfer there and then. Yikes! I dodged a bullet for sure.

I came to CarMax to sell my car that I was about 3 years in on a 5 year loan because I was moving downtown and could no longer have a car. I was expecting it to be a hassle, or something to go wrong much like my other experiences in the past with other car dealers. I was very wrong. Everything went very seamlessly, and the staff were incredibly kind and efficient. I would recommend this location to anyone, especially someone who still owes on a loan or lease.

I was able to select the vehicle I wanted online and requested it be shipped to the nearest CarMax closes to my home. I test drove it and was able to make my decision within a few days. I purchase a Mini Cooper Countryman (hybrid version) from this CarMax about a month ago and im extraordinarily happy with every facet of my purchase. The price was good/reasonable especially at a time where there is a shortage of cars in the market. There were a few minor issues with the vehicle that had to be repaired by the dealer and CarMax completely covered those costs without any hassle. I was also happy to learn that a wheel alignment was included in the 90 day warranty. Initially I was concerned about what interest rate I would receive in comparison to my local bank in financing the vehicle; however, CarMax was able to offer me the lowest interest rate and I was able to compare the interest rate CarMax was offering against other companies at CarMax. Some dealers charge you for getting the car licensed with the state but CarMax didnt do that. All of the personnel that I interacted with were friendly and helpful. All around im very happy with my experience with this CarMax and would definitely purchase from them again.

This was a nightmare.Being a mom of 3 small children under the age of 10. I specifically asked for a reliable vehicle that would not be an issue for me for some time. I have been back and forth dealing with service department the first month of me having this vehicle and many more months after. There were issues that were not fixed. They have told me to come back to the service department with the vehicle several times and still have not fixed it properly . When I asked if the brakes were good Service managers confirm thought it was but when I took the car to be serviced somewhere Carmax has referred me to due to them not having any availability JB auto explain many issues with the vehicle that should have been taken care of before I even drove off the lot, and of course the breaks were not new. Unfortunately the vehicle had some more issues loud noise that we mentioned several times to CarMax but never got resolved. I was able to go to an Acura dealership and had to pay over $3000 to fix an issue CarMax says could not be fixed. I will never recommend this company to anyone. I am disappointed. Worst experience ever. I did not feel like my family safety was important to them.

There is a lot of miss communication between the office and the call center. The call center should mention the whole process and the time that will take to get the car, you loose your time by phone and the you need to do all over again at the office. What a pain the phone every time that I tried to call the office I need to go though the automatic response and then the representative then they do not know thing, they call the office… them the Office take too much time in answering the phone.I had to use Twitter to reported that noone answer and nobody communicate with me the status of the car.

Horrible overall experience. I paid 600usd for transfer from Florida and they allegedly tried get the stains out. They neglected to noticed all of the stains, they were above drivers head. I stopped communicating for one day as I was disappointed and needed time to cool down, well, when I was ready to communicate with the dealership and confront them about the stains Ive discovered that the ships the car that I was buying to another location out of state without even telling me. No dishonest about the stains oh, I paid to have it shipped with stains and they did not reimburse me oh, and they werent willing to work with me overall. So I went across the street to the Land Rover dealership and bought a brand new one, I would say thanks for nothing CarMax. When I first went into Comics we were greeted by a young man who told me that the person I was looking for doesnt work there I believe that my salesman was well-known so Im not sure what that was about whether or not he was trying to take the sale from yourself. Please do yourself a favor and go to a traditional dealership where you going to be treated with better respect dignity and self worth.

Took around 90 minutes from evaluation to signing the title and cutting a check. Friendly and courteous folks. Offer was reasonable. Be warned that the check they give you takes six business days and is Payable only upon receipt and verification by the payor of the title to the vehicle described above. I am a business owner and buy one to two vehicles a year. This was hands down the worst handled transaction I have ever experiences. It was definitely not The way it should be. First off after a day of back and forth with our obviously extremely green salesman he told us we were all clear to take delivery. We drove an hour and forty-five minutes from the Cape only to be told the paperwork was not complete and we could not pick up the car. From there the paperwork was not prepared correctly which intern forced us to pay the vehicle off in full, re title & re-register. Finally after promptly paying for the car in full the title was not released. I was told it was when I called to inquire why I had not received it yet. However, my insurance agent informed me they released it a day after my inquiry. The business office never bothered to call me back and update me as promised. Do not buy here!Update: It has now been over 6 weeks and still no title. I took the time to call the number they provided in their canned response. The rep took all my info guaranteed that she would contact the location and get back to me with an update. Guess what? She never called me back!

Overall my experience was not terrific Carmax had a chance to make it right. Instead the associate that helped with the test drive and paper work just made up lame excuses for a week+ delay in getting to test drive the vehicle. I am on the fence whether I would ever use them again or not. Read on to understand why.Finding the vehicle I wanted was actually quite easy. Then getting things moving, including arranging shipping was very efficient. I was told it would take about 7 days for the vehicle to arrive to our local Carmax, which was ok (at least I knew what to expect). Then if I had not called REPEATEDLY over the course of the next 7 days I think I would still be waiting. I was treated rudely, as if I didnt understand their business and basically was blown off. I made on last attempt and got a very helpful non-local Carmax sales person who was extremely helpful. One day later I took the test drive and bought the vehicle. The excuses from this delivery person were lame. There is NO excuse for poor customer service. Which is why I reflected the 3 stars.

From my 1 star review: I have been a loyal Carmax customer for years in Hoover AL (Ive bought 4 cars from them & my partner has bought 5) so when we relocated to Massachusetts I didnt think twice about going there. However, this was a terrible experience. First off, unlike Hoover I stood around for about 5 minutes before three guys chatting at a desk acknowledged me and it went down hill from there. In the end, I asked for my car back because after keeping me waiting over an hour for an appraisal that I had already done online (and told them I did online yet they ignored me and had me go through the process all over again) they told me my credit union was closed for the evening and I would need to drive back tomorrow (I live 2hrs away round trip) to finish the car buying process. By that time I was tired and hungry and facing another hours trip home. Like hell I was coming back the next day.Postscript: I have amended my review from 1 star to 4 stars. After shopping around, I discovered that they had a vehicle which combined with the appraisal value they gave me was a very good deal. This time I worked with Jeff and he made all the difference. He listened and communicated! In fact the only reason I am not changing it to 5 stars is because the whole process took a long time because of a computer glitch - totally beyond Jeffs control but added about an hour or more to the process. So kudos to Jeff for renewing my faith in Carmax!Scratch that. Business office gave me incorrect information over the phone about transferring my loan and I made another 2 hour round trip after work for nothing. And now I am going to have to make a 4th trip out there this weekend to sign papers. Down to 2 stars.

Staff is very nice so thats a plus. But they extremely low-balled my cars appraisal, it was in average to great shape but their offer was below even the fair/rough condition price on KBB and edmunds.The appraisal took over a half hour, and although they have lots of open parking spots, they have a strange staging process so they have a hard time putting your car in some random party spot they want it in. Just go to Carvana if you want to sell...they offered me $2k more and was closer to KBB, Carmax wasnt even in the same ball park.

Could have been 5 stars, but way too many excuses for delay in delivering vehicle. Paid to have vehicle transported from another carmax facility (110 miles away). I was ok with waiting 7 days quoted for delivery. Called destination on 8th day as I was finally notified via email vehicle was delivered. Was told by a RUDE sales clerk that I will be called once this facility goes through the vehicle. Waited thru the weekend and still heard nothing, so I called and got a very helpful person (part of carmaxs virtual sales team) who got someone to call me that evening. This carmax associate was very nice, but made excuses for the lag in delivery of my vehicle. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth so much so that I am not sure I would use them again or not. Last thing, the price that I paid was fair based on the Kelly Blue Book value I found. Advice to anyone thinking of using Carmax, do your homework and bird dog the staff to get your vehicle in a reasonable amount of time.

I knew nothing about Carmax. A friend asked me to go online and get a unseen offer. If happy bring car in to appraise. I did and the numbers were the same offered prior before visiting. In and out 35 minutes with a check in hand after paying off my lease. This was the best experience you can get. OMG. I’m a fan now and will definitely recommend CARMAX in Norwood Ma

We saw a car that fit our needs at Carmax. We were hesitant to use a big name car sales place, but family members said they had multiple good experiences so we went ahead on that recommendation.We do not regret our decision. Trading in our old car was simple and straight forward. Buying our new car was simple and straight forward. What more could you ask for?NOTE: We found our car before engaging with a sales associate so cant speak to their ability in helping you find a car. We also didnt finance so cannot speak to that either.

Frustrating. Received a price to buy my vehicle, a week later i went to sell the vehicle and upon a closer inspection, the quote dropped $2200 dollars. Then, there was an issue with a lien being flagged on the vehicle, so the sale couldnt be put through on a Sunday. I expressed concern about the entire process starting over and i was assured it wouldnt. it should only take 15 minutes the following day. I arrived the next day after the lien issue was taken care of; however they decided to appraise my car (AGAIN), the appraisal came back lower a 3rd time, luckily i made the manager sign paperwork that they would honor the 2nd quote. the whole process took nearly 2 hours, and i didnt feel attended to or valued. i felt bounced between isolated, silod departments where no one person could know how painful the entire process was with the exception of the manager, who didnt seem to care. AWFUL experience

They went above and beyond our expectations! They brought a car up from CT for us to look at. We liked the amount they gave is for our trade in and the price of the car with all the accessories was best we found anywhere. The tire pressure light was on and they said they would fix it. When we drove off the lot the light came on so we called. At 9 pm they had us come back. Found a screw in the tire so they said they would replace it. They drove us to a local restaurant and paid for our food, picked us up and brought us back. When the car was ready they had replaced all 4 tires!! Just a great team of folks from the sales force, service department, finance folks and store manager!

Sold my 2003 Toyota Camry to CarMax, Norwood and couldnt be happier with the experience. Very efficient and friendly process. Received a very fair offer in about 20 minutes which I accepted and 15 minutes later I left with payment in hand. We will be selling another car soon and CarMax is where we will be going. I would recommend them to anybody looking to sell there car.

Great customer service story! I originally found the car that I wanted on the CARMAX website, but it was in Indianapolis (Im in Boston). Since the car looked to be exactly what I wanted, I decided to pay the shipping fee and have it sent to Boston. The car arrived before the scheduled date, but the title still wasnt available. When I called customer Service, they indicated that it may take another month to get the title. Being very disappointed, I decided to take a ride to the CarMax facility in Norwood, MA. I spoke with a salesperson and told them my story and she in turn talked to the manager. The manager came over almost immediately and apologized and credited me back the full amount of my shipping fee! The sales person assured me that they would contact me as soon as the title arrived. 2 weeks later, the title arrived and I was able to pick up my beautiful new car that was exactly how it was described on the website! The story doesnt end here....After the first day with my new car, I got an error warning indicating that there was an issue with my front sensors. I called CARMAX in Norwood, and they offered me the choice to bring the car to them to have it checked out, or go to my local Audi dealer to have them diagnose the problem. Since Audi was very close to my home, I brought the car to Audi. They diagnosed that there was a faulty sensor and that it would not be covered by Audi warranty. The estimate was over $1,200. I called CARMAX to tell them the situation and they said no problem....have Audi fix the car and CARMAX would take care of the bill. I was absolutely shocked at how easy it was to get this resolved! Thank you CARMAX, I will definitely use CARMAX again!

I worked with Esther out of Norwood and she was literally a gem. She was out in the lot doing work for someone else and approached me and introduced herself. I wasn’t even looking to buy a car I was just in the neighborhood and was killing time. Esther is an asset to Carmax... in fact I wanted to recruit her and take her with me.Service was good too I worked with Javier from Danvers. My breaks were making a noises and one small other problem and they were quick to look at everything. I’m happy to report the breaks were new which is why they were making that noise.I will never buy a new car again. I am now part of the Carmax family and will be on the lookout for these two. Please make sure both representatives get acknowledged. 10/10
