Excellent service for German and quasi-German (Mini) cars. Dat, the owner, is honest and helpful. Not cheap, but that’s the nature of these cars, and certainly cheaper than the dealer. Highly recommended.
Ive taken my car to German Car Service for 5 years. The owner Dat, and his staff are trustworthy and professional.
$180 for saying the engine does not work, which is why we brought the car there. No details provided.
The customer and car service here is excellent. Ive been coming here for several years for work on my BMW; from routine maintenance to significant repairs. The pricing is good, and service is speedy and reliable. I frankly would have replaced my car a few years ago if I had not found Dat and his team. Theyve been able to keep the car in good shape at an affordable cost over the years. Highly recommended!
Took my GTI in for engine misfires (90% of the time related to spark plugs or coil pack). Dat performed $190 check, determined that it was *not* the spark plugs, and likely some PCV valve. Cut to a couple months later and I take it to a different shop - they immediately diagnose as a spark plug that is gapped at 1.6mm instead of 1mm. Easy diagnosis, easy fix. Car has been running fine ever since.
Dat and his team do great work! I have been going to his shop for almost 2 years and I highly recommend it. Not only does he offer convenient hours and an accessible location, but also fair prices. In addition, the customer service cant be beat!
I feel really comfortable taking my car here - theyre honest and direct. They did a thorough job in a very timely manner and their prices of course are a serious challenge to the dealership. Its really great to have a local place that can work on german cars. Right on guys!
Ask for Dat. He gives the best service with high quality of mechanical expertise. Fast turn around and I always feel like family when he services my car. Wouldnt go anywhere else.
I began taking my car to German Car Service when the factory warranty expired, and I was really glad to escape the dealerships service department shakedown, where they always insisted I should approve hundreds of dollars in extra work whenever I took the car in for a free oil change. Dat is an excellent, certified German car mechanic--He really knows his stuff, and does excellent work for a fair price.
Love Dat & Co! He took great care of my VW and now my Mini Cooper. Always forthright about what needs work now and what can wait, gives great advice, does excellent work and at a fair price. Great locally owned small business to support.
Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced with a business. I only called to find out what time they were opened and closed on Saturday. He he just said “No” and hung up the phone. Never answered when I called back. WOW
Fair prices and fast high quality service. Great communication about options.
Dat and his team have been providing maintenance and service for my car for about 4 years. Dat is resourceful, fast accommodating and fair. I highly recommend German Car Service.
Dat is fair and reasonable. I had him replace my brakes and my tires. When I had a slow leak in a tire, he fixed the leak for free.
Dat took care of my VW Passat years ago and German Car Service is now the only place I bring my 2009 Audi A3. I trust his expertise (hes an Audi master technician), his recommendations (re: whether something is proactive/elective vs. urgent), and his pricing, and he gets things done on the timeline he commits to. Theres no reason to pay ~2x at the dealership or other more expensive specialists.
I like this guy and I trust him his advise and work
This service shop which specializes in German cars is awesome. They are very honest, reliable, and dependable.
I have used German Car Service from the 1st day of opening, in fact, followed Dat from another location as his work has always been spot on. Im also very happy that he is in the neighborhood, as I can drop the car off and easily walk anywhere I need to be.
My Mercedes savvy friend recommended Dat, the owner, and this shop. Dat got me in the morning I called and he explained what was involved with replacing my broken door actuator. He texted me photos of the repair in progress (!) and was spot on with the estimate. He also informed me that my brake fluid was dirty and I had him flush the system. The prices were much more reasonable than the other shop I have been going to. Great 1st experience and I will be coming back.
After a comprehensive search, Dat has been our go-to mechanic for our Mini Cooper ever since we moved to Oakland a couple years ago. He has been the most reliable, thoughtful, trustworthy, and honest auto shop we have ever dealt with - by a long shot! I trust that whenever he diagnoses an issue or makes a recommendation for repair, he knows what he’s talking about, gives it to us straight, and charges a competitive price. On top of all of this, Dat is just a genuinely nice guy who I enjoy catching up with when we’re getting work done or when we catch him in the neighborhood. Thanks Dat!
Ive taken my Mini Cooper here a few times and Dat and his team do a great job. Mini maintenance isnt going to be cheap anywhere, but this is a much better deal than going to a dealership.
I have been brining my car to German Car Service for two years. Dat works hard to take care of my car and does a great job keeping it on the road. Hes up front about what to expect and always follows thru. I highly recommend German Car Service.
Good, fast service and reasonable prices.
Great local shop . Knowledgeable and honest mechanic.
Dat and his crew were very professional and prompt. I needed new brakes for my s430 and the got it done with time to spare. I will be going back.
