Great place. Walked in and someone helped me right away. Very friendly and helpful people. Has a good selection. They had the gun I wanted, and within 30 minutes I was walking out the door with my new pistol. Will definitely go back the next time Im in the market for a firearm.

We made sure to stop through on the way to a company meeting. I had the pleasure of visiting with Mike, the owner, and was very pleased with his knowledge and attentiveness to his customers. Though what I was looking for wasnt readily available at the time, he and his staff were ready and willing to point me to where I could find it. I had a gun shipped to Olathe Gun Shop (OGS) from an online retailer. Unfortunately, I dont yet have an updated Kansas ID(recently moved to KS from MO) and OGS was so incredibly helpful when transferring my purchase to a Missouri shop. Excellent customer service! Highly recommend

I’ve visited Olathe Gun Shop twice in the last 2-3 weeks. The employees there are fantastic, knowledgeable and make me feel like a priority when in the store. At my second visit, someone even remembered little details of a conversation from the first time I was in there. I found the used USP45 I was looking for and got a killer deal considering the accessories along side. Background check took an hour or so due to overload, but was out in a reasonable timeframe. Everyone was exceptional. My 3rd purchase here and will be back.

By now I must have bought over ten different guns and spent around $10,000 in guns, parts, ammo, and other serveses here. Ive been shopping here for years and every time I need help, parts, or a transfer, its always been very smooth and easy with these guys. You will not find a better place to do business with. If they dont have it in stock theyll order it for you. If you dont have the money on hand but really want it, you can put 20% down and make payments. If youve got a safe queen taking up space, you can have these guys sell it for you.

Great Selection. Decent prices. Most of the staff are very helpful, knowledgeable and courteous but you do have a couple of the usual douche suspects. All in all its a great place to go. I always find something to take home with me. Im mostly impressed by their rifle selection and the fact that its the only place I could find frog lube!

I would always recommend coming here first when looking for new firearms, because it will probably be the last place you visit for purchase. The best shotgun selection in the kc area. Ill even go as far as to say the best in Kansas or Missouri. So many gun shops cater to the AR groupies. This shop has that too but if you are a shot gunner you will love this store. I do.

Really pleased with this shop. Theyre extremely helpful and have an amazing selection. They helped me and my father out with every issue we had. Im pleased with their presentation as we could see the tags of near every gun. They also didnt discriminate and judge your every move and follow you around the store. Most of the prices were good. Im probably one of the biggest pain in the ass customers for these people because I come in, take a lot of time, ask a lot of questions and so far Ive only bought a holster. The salespeople are incredibly informative and patient and respectful and seem to be genuinely invested in finding the best choice for you. They wont pressure you into spending more than you plan to, and they will tell you everything you need to know about a firearm (pros and cons) and do what ever they can to prevent you from making a purchase you arent comfortable with. For the quality of the staff alone this is my go-to gunshop and where I plan to make all my firearm-related purchases while I live in Kansas. They also have a great selection at very reasonable prices but the salespeople are so good you almost forget that theres such a wide spectrum of inventory to choose from

Was looking for a Rock River Arms Tactical Operator 2. The sales person and the other staff I interacted with were friendly and knowledgeable. Their selection was very good and pricing seemed to be competitive compared to other stores I have visited recently. Would definitely shop here again!

I went into an adjacent store with not much success so I decided to check this place out. They were busy, but I and quickly realized that these people are watching for the next customer in line. I had a jammed rifle and Mike asked me to come back and he would take a look. He fixed the gun on the spot, reviewed how to tighten, etc.. Wow, was I impressed. I love to support these types of businesses - salt of the earth. I will be back to trade with them.

I just love Olathe Gun Shop. When I walk into the store I feel like I am home.Being a women at first I was a little shy but they truly make you feel like a friend. They take the time to answer any questions you may have and trust me between my son and I we have had a lot. And the guys they have working there have wonderful knowledge of what they are selling. I have never felt rushed or like I was a bother. They have always great prices and a wonderful selection. I have learned a lot from them and can not think of a better place to go.

The staff is exceptionally friendly, and Dale, their trap and skeet shooting expert is incredibly knowledgeable and was surprisingly generous in spending extensive time educating me about the fine points of trapshooting as he was helping me pick out my first trap gun and make sure that it fit me well.I like to go there and enjoy doing business with them. I went in as a first time customer and came out a very satisfied customer. I had a shotgun that I wanted to trade and I received a good value in trade. I walked out feeling good about the deal and how fairly I was treated including several other visits since.

These guys were great! Went there and looked at a ruger .308 and decided to look around at other places and Olathe gun shop had the best price. The guy I worked with was extremely friendly and very informative about the rifle. Will defiantly be going back these guys

This shop is good. They always help me and answer my question. They however dont have the best prices. Theres better places in olathe to buy a gun, but if you have questions then this is the place to go.

Ive been a regular customer since 2011, purchased about 9 firearms from them and sold about 3. Staff is always friendly, and back in the great .22lr shortage (2013-2014) I really respected how they prevented folks from buying everything they had so they could scalp it later. Little things like that show how they take care of their customers. I have never walked in the door and felt that somebody wasnt ready to answer my questions.

Walked into this shop to buy some parts for a build. Initially I wasnt greeted and I felt really unwelcome. After talking to one of the salesmen I had an opportunity to speak to a young man named James. He was very knowledgeable, polite, and professional. If it were not for him I would not have given this place a good rating. He spent a great deal of time simply answering my questions and recommended several things that I didnt know I needed. Also he recommended some options that I would have initially avoided but based on his advice I decided to spend a little more money on quality parts. I hope the store recognizes the importance of a friendly sales associate, and specifically the value of that employee.

Very helpful service. These guys arent the typical know-it-all gun shop guys. They are happy to show you the inventory and if you have questions they arent going to treat you like an idiot just because guns arent your life.

Every time I go into this store, im welcomed and remembered. Service could not be better! The staff is professional yet friendly and very knowledgeable about what theyre talking about. You can tell they enjoy being there. I also like how humble they are, i asked a question to someone and he admitted he was unsure and went and found me the answer both by asking another employee and searching the internet. If you go into this store, youll feel valued and appreciated.

Completely clueless on background checks. I had a change of address and they would tell me what documents they need to establish proof of residency, so Id bring them in, and then they tell me that those documents arent sufficient enough. This happened three god damn times. Im sure a change of address isnt something they see every single day, but they really should know how to handle it without jerking around their customers and making me come back over and over again.

Always courteous and knowledgeable to all my questions. Seems to be customer minded and willing to take their time to ensure I am fully satisfied without pressure sales tactics.

Theyve got a huge selection and the store was very clean. Will be shopping with them again.

Store was closing and I made a gentlemens agreement to come back the next morning with cash and buy an AR-15 they took off the shelf for me (it was on consignment). I came back the next morning as they opened and it was gone. When I asked why they sold it and to whom the guy said, Yeah, the owner didnt realize what we had and he decided he wanted it. I asked, Did he know you agreed to sell it to a customer? The guy replied, Oh, he doesnt care. As a free-market capitalist I applauded him. As a dude, it was kind of a jerk move.Ive been in the store MULTIPLE times and its the rare occasion that a grumpy old man ISNT giving you attitude about something. I once walked in wearing bluetooth earbuds and the guy pointed at me and said, No...take those off while youre in here son. I wanted to reply, Son...Im a 41 yr old college professor. I did not. I just left.

I have been researching and thinking about buying a personal firearm for a month or so. Admittedly I was very nervous. This is a big deal, and a big decision not to be taken lightly. I didnt know what to expect when I entered Olathe Gun Shop, but I had researched the business and saw that many people liked them.I was approached by Brad Becker who was absolutely the best person ever to help me buy my first pistol. We looked at several, including the one I had intended to buy, the Bersa Thunder .380. He talked about the pros and cons of each gun we looked at, which was very helpful.He showed me a revolver, a Ruger and then when I asked what gun hed want for his own family, he showed me the Sig Sauer 9mm. Well that gun and I were meant to be! I love it!I have to commend Brad for his patience, wealth of knowledge, and the many tips he showed me on proper gun use. He literally spent 45 minutes showing me guns and educating me on each one. He was really great! I felt at home, comfortable and like he was family, although wed just met.I walked out of there with my first firearm, and some knowledge on how to get started properly caring and using the gun.Many thanks to him. Hes the only person Ill want to work with now. I even gave him a hug before I left, I felt my first experience purchasing a gun was so seamless because of him, his easy going manner and expertise. Cant say enough good things about the shop and the staff specifically. Came in today to either consign or trade a shotgun and find something different. They really listened to what I was wanting and in the end got a fare trade value for almost exactly what I was looking for. The review could end here but it doesnt. While checking out with a young man named James we were chatting and I mentioned some issues I was having with a rifle I purchased somewhere else. He offered to help me out with it and went above and beyond to troubleshoot the issue. He was extremely knowledgeable and even helped get some melted plastic off my barrel at no charge. From now on this is the only shop I will go to for purchases and service.
