We visited CarMax a few days ago to sell my husbands car that wasnt needed to us anymore. They gave us a really good price on it and everyone working was super nice and quick to help us! The wait time for walk ins isnt long either! It would be much quicker if you have an appointment with them though!

I cannot express enough how easy and pleasant my CarMax experience has been. Our salesperson. Sean, was extremely nice and professional. He was a joy to be around. My experience was well Nate Im guessing he was fairly new did well, if he wasnt sure about something he asked his manager which is a huge responsibility thing for me. I rather you get the correct information then someone who doesnt know and pretend that they do. The only issue I had was they said the car was cleaned and it wasnt there was dried ketchup on the inside of the door in the floor and the same same sticky substance that my husband and I spotted in the inner console was still there. Eww. But other then that it was amazing experience they said they were going to order some parts that were needed and fix what needed to be fix but quick easy and painless.

Overall a very good experience. The communication before the purchase was great. The shipping and buying process was explained thoroughly. The paperwork didn’t take long and I love the 30 day like it or bring it back policy. I do wish the inspection of my vehicle had been more thorough. My windshield washer fluid sprayers didn’t work and my transmission had to be flushed but CarMax paid for that to be done so I’m happy. Hopefully will get many good years out of this vehicle! I would use CarMax again in the future.

I traded in my 2016 chrysler 200S with light damage on the bumper. I was dumbfounded when they appraised it at 17,000.00. Carvana quoted 9,000.00 and local dealers 11-12 k. This has changed my life. Im using the funds for a down-payment to purchase my first home.

I sold my 2017 BRZ to CarMax. They gave me a good offer online so I went to see if the final number would be close to what they offered. The form online I filled out was as accurate as I could be. My car was in great condition minus some paint blemishes on the front.I walked in for my appointment with all the documents I needed to close sale. Everyone there was very friendly. The woman helping me took pictures of my car and I was given the final offer shortly after. The final offer was about the same as the internet offer so I went ahead and sold my car.I had all of the paperwork and the car didnt have a lien on it, so the process went quick and easy. I couldnt have asked for an easier car selling experience.

Still waiting on mats that were somehow removed from the vehicle during transfer. Had the car in possession for 3 weeks now. Jason, the store manager did respond to let me know they ordered these. Hoping to get a call soon.Wait time for paperwork processing can definitely improve. And every car of 3 I bought from Carmax always needs to be cleaned, not sure why this is not done prior to test drive especially in case of a paid transfer.Great experience with actual vehicles.

Efficient and no BS. The quote I got online was exactly what I was quoted once at the store. I was taken in for my appraisal exactly on time. Process was done in less than 30 minutes, I really appreciated the hassle-free experience and timeliness of it all. Also, Carmax gave me 2.8k more for my sale than local dealer offered and was higher than other internet companies!

I browsed online and paid to have a truck shipped from TN to a CarMax in FL to test drive. The test drive experience was great, and when I decided to pull the trigger and buy the truck, the paperwork process from start to finish was super easy! Horrible place. They take your vehicle for a ride, an inexperienced young person takes pictures of your vehicle and sends them somewhere and an hour later they came back and said the system is down so they couldnt tell me how much they would buy my vehicle for. I think it was done on purpose so they could call and tell me how much that they would give me for my vehicle. They insulted me with their offer. They seriously low balled the offer. The cars on the lot are dirty. Dont recommend them.

I’ve personally purchased two cars from here now. Once in 2019 and again in 2021. I’ve sent friends here as well. My only complaint is that it takes forever. The employees were great and friendly. But I filled out all the paperwork online beforehand, and still spent 6+ hours in the store signing everything. 😫I was hoping with that done, I’d be in and out. Especially with two small children.

We had a great experience here purchasing our Toyota Sienna. The staff was very friendly and quick to serve us. We were in and out with our new car within 4 hours. We had some issues with the vehicle after purchasing it and we were able to bring it back and get everything fixed free of charge. They were quick to get us an appointment for the repairs as well. The establishment itself was clean and appeared well taken care of. I would most certainly recommend purchasing a car here.

I travel from Panama city Florida to Pensacola to get my jeep grand cherokee. My car was not clean fully, wasnt filled fully with gas. On top of all that my change oil light was on. On my way back home it was raining and thats when I came to realize how bad the windshield wipers were. Once I got home I called to complain about all these things and they fix them free of charge but to have to go through all this after getting a car it sucked. Also I found that I only had 4 out of the 5 lugg nutts. One was loose, found this out after having my car for 3 days.

Found the Expedition with the options that I wanted. Had to have it shipped to Pensacola, but I would never found what I wanted looking local.Car max had to do a few things to make it right, but they took care of it.You have to pay their price, but to find just what you are looking for is worth it.

This was the absolute best car-buying experience I have ever had! I knew the exact car make/model/mileage that I wanted, and when I saw it on their website, I applied to get pre-approved online and was contacted by a very nice representative, Cliff, who walked me through applying for the vehicle I wanted. He scheduled me for an appointment that afternoon to test drive the vehicle. He stated he is not part of the local branch, and that I would be helped by someone else upon arrival, which I was completely fine with. Everyone at this facility was welcoming. Tee was my sales rep and was incredibly nice and easy to work with. Since I completed my application prior to arriving, I was LITERALLY in and out in just an hours time. Incredible experience! We had a 2020 Honda Pilot and we wanted to sell that vehicle. I went online and received an offer, scheduled an appointment for the next day at local Carmax store. Went to the location and went thru the process of taking pictures and verifying the registration etc. Once everything was completed, I received a check and handed over the keys. Entire process took about 45 minutes to an hour.

This review is not specifically about the Pensacola location but as Carmax as a whole. I have dealt with Carmax a couple times in the past to buy and sell cars. However, this year has been terrible dealing with them. First, at the Pensacola location I wanted to trade my car in for a better Jeep. While test driving it, a service light for the axles kept coming on. This was on a Saturday and I let the associate know and he said they would have their mechanic look at it on Monday and let me know what was going on. Well Friday rolls around and I still dont have an answer as to what was wrong. Then the next day, I was told that the Jeep had to be taken to the dealership to have its problem fixed. So then I started looking at having another car transferred to Pensacola to buy. I have tried to transfer four different vehicles now without any luck. For example, yesterday a new arrival popped up of the EXACT car I wanted and I immediately put in a request to transfer it. No one called me about it so I had to call and found out that someone else already had it on hold for a transfer and that within the next hour, they would call me back to let me know if it was still available or not. Well, its been about 18 hours and I still havent heard anything. They keep uploading cars to their website making it seem like they are available for transfer but then someone else already has it on hold. Their communication sucks and when someone says they are going to call you back, dont hold your breath because 90% of the time, they wont. Its a shame because I want to do business with them since they are offering about $4,000 for my trade in than anywhere else!

I tried to get a car from Carmax for more than six weeks. After three attempts (and 90 points decrease on my credit report) I finally was able to secure a car in Myrtle Beach transferred to Pensacola. The following occurred:1) The mileage on the car was listed as 22,444 on the contract, when in actuality the correct mileage was 25,987.2) Called Carmax -- spoke with manager told me to come back to Pensacola(45 miles one way) to have mileage changed.3) once arrived was told you didnt have to come back over here, we could have changed the mileage.4) Questioned if car was serviced before being bought--no documentation. Was told sure it was done (oil change). Oil change was not done -- last time at 22,444. Given coupons for oil change; however, when called for appointment, could not get appt until two weeks later (mileage was over manufacture recommended of 3750).5) Called manager again and he arranged for service/oil change two days later. Complete check and service was not done.I am VERY disappointed about my second car purchase. The first car purchase was great. My second purchase was horrible.When you buy from CarMax, please check every thing VERY carefully.

Dont know why I try anywhere else. We have purchased two vehicles at Carmax and the experience has been great each time. Quick in and out, good financing options, fair prices, clean newer vehicles, low mileage, and the warranty! I have tried others and none compared. Lesson learned, it will be Carmax from here on out.

I had previously tried to purchase a vehicle through Vroom and they had messed up every part of the transaction from the paperwork to delivery, registration and delivering an unsafe car, so I decided to go to CarMax. What a night and day difference. Everything went smooth and quick with CarMax. I picked a vehicle online, had it transferred to my local CarMax and it was delivered ahead of schedule and the transaction went off without a hitch. I will be using them again in the future.

Awful experience. Long story short. My idea and their idea of safety standards and how you treat customers is Very different. You will get a better deal at a dealership if you can find the vehicle you are looking for. Check Kelly Blue Book and NADA before you buy! A dealership will work with you and try to earn your business, at least reputable ones will. Carmax wont.

I bought a car from there back in October. I had it shipped from mississippi to florida. It arrived quickly, and I was able to submit all of my information for my trade in online which made the process a lot quicker. When the vehicle finally arrived I went in, test drove it and decided it was the car for me. Months later Im still loving my car, and have not had any issues with it. All of the staff at carmax are so friendly and helpful. Id recommend them any day!

When I got my car it was the worst experience ever, Karen MacDonald is terrible help. I did all of my paperwork online, also using a federal document as my form with my address and Karen said that could take it files. Something that was supposed to take 30 mins ended up taking 3-4 hours. Karen also tried to tell me i wasn’t going to be qualified for the car. Long story short, 4 hours later i got my car and we left, come to find out a few days later, the paint is fastly peeling off the top of my car. I don’t recommend car max, and if you do use it not the one in pensacola florida.

Ok so my wife chevy broke down and i have to replace the cylinder head was renting a car so she can get to work. Was stressing all week on what can I do. I called carmax and was stress free after talking to robert the agent we got aproved on a sunday and went to carmax finished the paper work o and did get MAXCARE which covers the car for 48 months or 150000 miles if car breaks down. I just sold my car at the Carmax Pensacola, and it could not have been a more simple and quick process. They explained everything so well, gave me a GREAT offer, and had me in and out in about 45 minutes with my check in hand.

These people are ripping people a new one . The photo was my offer which is way off of kbb . Carmax inform me they dont use kbb for trade values but use it to value their vehicles . That screwing every one who trades or buys a vehiclefrom them . I was offered $28000 from another dealer so guess carmax just lost a sale . Dont trade with these people and ask for the same value system on your purchase that they use for trades .

Waited 30 minutes to just talk to someone about a car, which never happened. The receptionist tried setting us up with the three cars we were interested in, only to find out two were not available and the other had “title issues.” Why have cars on the lot, if they aren’t available or have issues??? Very disappointed, and a waste of time.

Selling a truck, I used the online NADA app to determine a sell outright value. It came up with $53,300. A pop up immediately came up and said Carmax wants to buy you care; bring it in. Long story short....the offer from Carmax was $49,300.....not an insignificant difference.This isnt some beater mobile. Pristine 2019 GMC Sierra SLT loaded with less than 22,000 miles. I clearly understand things might come our exact but $4,000 off the NADA figure was beyond ridiculous.DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.

Easy process. Compared dealer and Carmax along with Carvana prices. Found my vehicle at Carmax completed most background paperwork including financing at home. Arrived at the dealer and my vehicle was out from ready to go. Had to physically sign papers and complete the trade in I started online and was out the door in under two hours. Easy with no haggling and I knew trade in and finance was completed up front.

After purchasing many vehicles over the years at typical car dealerships where every negotiation became a mickey mouse routine with ill-informed salespeople running interference for their Managers, and pushing hard for incentivized extras, I found CarMax to be a refreshing change of pace. Upfront no-haggle pricing, non-commissioned agents, and a simple no pressure setting is a welcome set of conditions to make shopping for an expensive item far more enjoyable. Spent a $100 to ship a 2019 F350 Lariat from TX. Price was high 65+k set an appt up, for 11am had all docs with me to make it as seamless as possible, drove an hr to test drive/close and when I realized my eta was 10 after 11. I called them to let them know. When I arrived, my location rep wasnt actually on sight. No one was expecting me and when they found my appt. they said the next guy can see in you about 45-1hr.. and I had a very small time frame to get this done. So I crossed the street and bought a similar vehicle at World Ford and am very happy.

Very easy, non stress transaction from start to finish! The only reason its not five stars is because it could have been more physically comfortable since you are there for 2.5 hours: better chairs, offer a bottle of water since the fountains arent working, give the CarMax reps two screens, one for them and the other for the buyer; the constant switching the screen back to one another was awkward and very hard to read. If you did those things, it would be like buying from a high end dealer!

Sold me a truck with faulty engine/transmission/timing belt/camshaft phasers. 2019 Ford F-150 bought it for 38k with 24k miles now has 34k miles. Been in and out of the Ford dealership for major repairs 3 times now and the engine light is still on and will definitely have problems trying to sell it. Thanks 👍🏼

I have bought 5 vehicles from CarMax now. I have a 2015 Jeep and a 2016 F150 now. The Pensacola store is lacking on serving my vehicle now. They always want to send us to the dealership to do anything with the 2 vehicles. I wish I was back in Nashville sometimes. They know how to work on your vehicles but Pensacola never has time to or cannot work on it. I guess I will look at buying my next vehicles from some other place. Don’t buy from Pensacola.

So I bought a 2015 Jeep latatude 3 years ago that came with a auto check history report that stated it had NO Accidents! I just went to trade it in and the carfax stated it had moderate damage before we bought it. Moderate meaning damage on all 4 sides not just a scratch. Our trade in value was much lower thankfully I kept all my paperwork for the purchase and I stated at purchase that I wouldnt buy a wrecked car. THIS IS FRAUD my next step to call my lawyer. Dont believe anything they tell you get a real carfax dont trust the auto check.

As always we were pleased with CarMax and the stress free purchase. This is our second purchase with CarMax. DJ assisted us with our purchase about half way through the deal. My wife and I wanted to trade our vehicle in but CarMax didn’t want to give us what we wanted for it so we kept it and purchased a SUV. We love the newest edition to the family fits great in it! The whole experience was not good. I paid $99 to have an F-150 shipped to my local Carmax. When they notified me it had arrived, I set up an appointment to test drive it seven days in advance. I arrived and the drivers side outside mirror was busted. They told me it must have happened when they took it off the delivery truck. I was promised they would repair it at no cost to me. All they have to do is order the part. The other thing I noticed was the vehicle hasnt even been washed or the interior was cleaned. It has been sitting on the lot for a week and they couldnt even wash it. It was on a Saturday when I bought the vehicle and took delivery. They estimated my trade in payoff to be $1000.00 above what was actually owed on it because My credit union is closed on the weekends and they couldnt obtain the actual amount. This caused the amount financed to be larger so I have to pay more interest on the loan. They assured me I would be refunded the $1000.00 once my credit union received the payoff payment. My monthly payment on the loan was larger because the amount financed was larger. After taking delivery of the vehicle, I visited the Carmax lot 3 weeks later to inquire about the status of the drivers side mirror . They havent even ordered the part and they need to have the vehicle so they can order the correct mirror. The vehicle is 75 miles away in my driveway where I live. I was driving another vehicle for the visit. I told them I will bring the vehicle to them on Saturday because I work during the week and havent the time to do it except on weekends. I dropped the vehicle off as I said I would and they gave me a loaner vehicle to drive in the mean time. Now a month will be gone since I took delivery of the vehicle and it is at their Carmax lot waiting to be repaired. At this point, I dont know when I will get it back. When I visited the Carmax lot to.inquire about the mirror, I talked to the only two full time mechanics at the site and they told me it may be awhile before they can get to repair my mirror because they are already behind and they are working 50 to 60 hours a week to get caught up. They said they are the only repair facility for 8 Carmax dealerships and have their cars to repair also. Service after the sale is terrible.
