The name museum is a bit of an overstatement. it is a free gallery with some pictures and a trolley. it is nice you can learn some history.

The SEPTA Transit Museum has lots of great stuff for all ages you can buy SEPTA hats, shirts, sweat shirt, t-shirts, backpacks, carry bags all with the SEPTA logo on it. They have multiple great items from past and present. Books, magazines from all over different Transit companies. Toys for kids from Thomas, collectable train sets from Z, N, HO, S, O, etc scales. Toys from diecast to plastic. NJ Transit toys, MTA NY toys, DART toys. Postcards through out the history of Philadelphia Metropolitan area. Before and after book. Souvenirs for Transit riders Cups, plates, and jewelry with SEPTA logo on it. At times you might see The President off SEPTA thats always cool. Its fun to go on to the vintage trolley they have its easy to view that from the sidewalk on Market Street and as well from riding the Market Frankford EL line at 13th Street Station. This location is very easy to find its in the Heart of The Downtown Center City Philadelphia. Many SEPTA buses, NJ Transit Buses, The Regional Rail trains, Greyhound are all in the area. Its nextdoor to the Loews Hotel, across the street from Macys. Blocks away from The Philadelphia Fashion District of Market East. (There is a Round 1 amusement in that mail.) The area is a little homelessness. Customer service can be different at times. Black Friday is near get all your Christmas/Holiday Transit gifts right away. Have fun and be safe in the area.

Really cool place to check out the history of SEPTA and the advancements of trains and trolleys over the years.I didnt even realize it was here, I was having lunch before a job interview and had some time to check it out.Definitely a must see if youre in the area and want to check it out. Also the SEPTA store upstairs is worth stocking up on SEPTA merchandise.

Its very small, and I didnt know where to start. The name museum is quite deceiving because its really more like a memorial+gift shop because there are maybe 4 displays of interesting objects, 5 panels about the transition to green buses, and a trolley downstairs that you cant enter because something is broken despite the door being open. It was worth reading the panels and looking at the displays, but the gift shop wasnt even manned (the cashier was missing), and the choices were sub-par. Otherwise, it was a worthwhile experience, but only go if youre in the area already.

A small display with a trolly and a nice gift shop, not much of a museum but a nice place to pop in with the kids and warm up.

Not really a museum....wish there was more to see. The trolley was nice to go inside. If you go, its free so keep your expectations low.

For those who remember the PTC, a fully outfitted trolley you can enter and sit down in. Nicely staffed, well inventoried gift shop, murals and historically significant dioramas. A place to go, in recollection of a simpler and less frenetic time in Philadelphia.
