Blackwell is by far the best place for anything you need done to your car. They are so helpful, kind & willing to take the time to answer any questions. They are always on time, they offer to give me a ride home if I don’t want to wait while they do my oil change or repairs. They always give me an estimate before doing any thing & they don’t price gouge you. I’ve been going to them for years & highly recommend them!

First time using Blackwell. I felt welcome walking in the door. Was greeted promptly and they acted like they were glad I was there, unlike a lot of garages. The work was done in a reasonable amount of time and for a fair price. I think I have found my go to shop for all my auto repair and maintenance needs.

Blackwell was recommended to me by a very reputable RV service firm. I could not be more pleased with the work they did on my 2000 Dodge powered 20 Leisure Travel camper van. They were creative in fixing my cruise control and resecuring the heat shield on my exhaust system, as well as replacing driver window controls. All work done in a day and a half, at a fair price. Kudos to them.

Fantastic experience. My car did not pass emissions and since it was old qualified for the state program. They not only repaired my car, but took it back to emissions and got a pass! I will use them in the future for any car repair on my own and without the state program. Thank you.

The owner Tom Blackwell is a true professional. I have used other auto shops but Blackwell is now my go to choice. It is refreshing to have an honest trusting relationship with a person in an industry where most consumers do not have an expertise. They completed some maintenance on my 1966 Corvette and completed it on time at a reasonable price. The shop is extremely clean and the employees are all knowledgeable and friendly. Steve who worked on my car took the time to explained all the issues. You can see Tom’s influence on the the shop. I have already referred some people to Blackwell. Tom and company are straight shooters when it comes to car repair or restoration. Thae art of the above is always filled with changes, and every gear head should know this. I would recommend this shop over and over again. They have plenty of experience to provided good estimates and provide the customer with a feeling of being taken care of and not just some slick willy trying to make money.

This will be a long review, but hopefully worth it for someone out there looking for a new mechanic team.I’ve always been an owner of older vans, motorcycles, random cars, etc, and one of the most difficult things for me has been finding reliable and CONSISTENT mechanics to work with. I’m fortunate to have never been priced gouged by any shops, but I have dealt with places that had poor communication, high turn over in employees, and a lack of understanding budgetary restraints. These kind of things can lead to quite an amount of chaos and confusion, which is stressful when you’re dealing with your vehicle!My current car of choice is a 1981 firebird, and it’s my baby. She just needed an oil change, and to have someone look at a few things. She had only been seen by two other mechanics, both of which did great work, but were pretty bad at communicating, which lead to some confusing scenarios, and not being even remotely timely. (I’m talking not responding to me for over a month, which just isn’t okay.)First off, if you have a classic car, and it needs work you can’t/don’t want to do yourself, I highly recommend Blackwell. When I arrive to drop her off, Tom gave me a tour of the place. This place is rad and HUGE. They have it set up so that one side is all classic and vintage vehicles and the other side is all newer, modern vehicles. As far as for the classic and vintage cars, it was really amazing to see that they have a team and an area SPECIFICALLY for them. It’s obvious that they really try to make sure that each project has the proper mechanic assigned to it to ensure the best outcome. They were working on every era car you could think of. Some of which were undergoing full restoration, down to every nut and bolt being cleaned properly. (I also love a good organized space, and this place was so satisfying to walk through.)One of the things I knew was bad on my firebird were the breaks. As soon as my car had been looked over, Tom gave me a buzz, went over everything they noticed and asked me to come down. I was walked through and SHOWN everything we discussed so I could see for myself exactly what was happening. The entire process I was kept informed of what was happening, what could POTENTIALLY happen (as we all know that in older cars one thing leads to another), and what kind of time line I was looking at. This truly was a great experience.I’ve brought her back for other things now, and it’s CONSISTENT, every time. The whole crew is awesome, great to chat with, and honest. Seriously great customer service that doesn’t feel fake or pushy and weird. Just good people doing exactly what they know how to do. With any new minor issue, we discuss all the potential costs when we start going down the rabbit hole of fixing a small thing on an older car. This is so important, as it saves you from being blindsided in the end.Something that costs thousands of dollars to own can be expensive to fix. It’s bizarre to me that people think that they should be able to fix all things on a car for under $50. The pricing has been completely on par with what has been done. Nothing has been “expensive”, and it’s all been accurate. Seriously people, when they tell you what’s wrong with your car, you can literally google it, and see that the pricing is accurate for the service. Calling them “liars and con artists” is hilarious when you can just look it up on your dang phone.Point being, old or new, I would trust this place with any vehicle. Came up from Tucson and my can began shaking on the freeway. Came in a half hour before they closed and the gentleman there diagnosed and helped me with the tire. Then wouldnt even let me pay him. Totally saved my bacon. Very grateful.

I took my ‘16 Tacoma to Blackwell after my service contract with Toyota ran out. I was under the impression that I needed a full brake replacement due to the noises coming from the truck. Christie at Blackwell took my truck in, and called me very quickly to advise that my brakes were in good health but the rears could use a cleaning and adjustment. Their labor in my opinion was more than fair and I really appreciated their honesty. Tom, the owner, also came out to meet me and thank me for my business when I came to pick up my truck. Great service all around. They even offered to give me a ride home. Will be going back when my next service is due.

I was referred to this repair shop by an associate and I must say that the owner and the mechanic team exceeded All my expectations. I have a limousine business and one of my vehicles was in need of significant repair due to a drivetrain issue. Tom informed me of the problem took care of it and it was resolved in a couple of days. My boyfriend took his truck there initially to get the wiring harness re-soldered and cleaned up so his lights would work properly. They charged us $250 AND DIDT FIX ANYTHING. The kid who did the work literally just wrapped everything up in electrical tape, not even bothering to keep it tight. It was a sloppy tape-up job that cost a quarter of a grand, and theyve refused to fix it. RIP OFF ARTISTS! STAY AWAY!I cannot BELIEVE Mark Salem recommends these guys--I know hes friends with the owner, but maybe he doesnt know whats really going on there.

This is a GREAT place to get work done. I have worked in the mechanical side of many businesses and I can tell you, you have a choice when it comes to things mechanical: Cheap, Fast or Good. Now remember, you only get two!These folks are Fast and Good and you get what you pay for. Never a comeback, always right the first time. Try them for something and see!

What an awesome shop, they were able to squeeze me in for an oil change which I was super grateful for. My car was done in less than hour just like they said it would be. I also couldn’t help but notice how clean it was inside the waiting room and also the service bays.

These guys are the pros from Dover. I got literally chased away from other shops when I drove up in my 59 Buick. These guys didnt bat an eyelash and asked detailed questions on what exactly I wanted...and proceeded to find the rare parts and skillfully fix things manufactured before most kid mechanics in other shops were born. I swear these guys could find and fix a flux capacitor for your Delorean if you needed that.

Not only do they repair but they are also a certified emissions facility to make sure you pass. My engine light fix was somethin dealer was charging $700 and Blackwell did it for $400. Reliable and its not something had to go back and tell them something was wrong.

I always give this place another chance because my friends know the staff/owner and I always give the benefit of the doubt that maybe Im catching them on a bad day but Ive never had a good experience with the staff here. Ive never left my car with them for more than a $50 job but I have gone in multiple times to ask questions and I never get a friendly response. I always get the sense that Im in idiot and know nothing. The lady at the receptions desk was extremely rude and didnt seem to care and/or ask any other staff if they had experience with what my car issue was. Their prices are high but they apparently have master mechanics but they will never see my car since their first impression leaves me with such a bad taste in my mouth.

I have been taking all of my 4 vehicles to Blackwell auto. I can trust that the job is always done correctly and the advice they give can be trusted. In one situation, my water pump went out due to a faulty part about two months beyond my 1year warranty. The staff at Blackwell worked with getting it replaced for free.
