Heavenly Bliss is a fair description of just how good the fresh ground coffee is here at Grinders Coffee Company. This is a mom and pop run coffee shop and as you may have guessed mom is in charge, and Pops is OK with that.pThe have live music some weekends and I have been to a few several years ago.If you happen to be in the neighborhood of 3rd Street and Dunlap then follow directions from Google Maps and you will be glad you did!

Old bald dude working this morning had the WORST attitude for no reason. He was in a bad mood since I walked in and said good morning to him. He took my order with such frustration and when I asked for a cup holder for my 2 drinks he gave me a dirty look and said “You need a cup holder for two drinks?”. I wouldn’t be asking for it If I didn’t need it sir. Will not be going back after today. The coffee is great, but the service was shitt today.

They won’t accept your modifications on drinks and when you elaborate further they’ll get defensive about it. Weird because everyone has different taste and it shouldn’t be an issue to make a drink with only a pump or two of flavor. Had this experience both times I went, will gladly drive a little further for Cultivate which always has better customer service (and coffee!)

Barista this morning (old bald dude) couldnt help but cuss the entire time he was making our order while having multiple customers in the store. He also got a bit agitated when asked to add a flavor to my coffee, I used to frequent this place because of the great service, this is no longer the case.

This tine around, I just asked the barista to surprise ne and boy did she! I got a Serious Latte with White Chocolate, Butterscotch, Hazelnut, and a little splash of Chocolate. It was amazing. Smooth and sweet.

Awesome place. The barista/ owner is very personable, talkative, and hilarious. Our first time here, we will definitely he coming back. Love the art on the walls, the fresh pastries, and the beans ground in-house. ♡♡♡

Skip the Starbucks down the block and enjoy a local gem. Filled with unique art from artists in the area and friendly service at the counter.

Grinder’s Coffee always does it for me. It’s consistently delicious and keeps me going through my day. Shalina is also amazing at providing recommendations when I am not sure what I want. One of my favorite coffee shops in Phoenix hands down!

This coffee shop has a great lighting and a cozy and calming ambiance. The coffee is extremely sweet and fairly priced. There is plenty of seating inside the store, as well as a comfortable bench outside. Both of the employees are friendly and responsive to my needs. They treat me so well that I am fully satisfied. This first-rate coffee shop comes highly recommended.

Go here if you are particular about your coffee, especially if you like black coffee. Organic! She blends and roasts the beans as they should be. Smooth, rich, and good flavor. I drink Will come back every time. Nice atmosphere, happy staff.

This is such a great local place. Their espresso tastes so unbelievably delicious that the chain coffee places don’t even compare. The quality is just so much higher! There’s great customer service and local art on the walls, so it feels homey. It’s a great place to shop small and feel good about your purchase, while getting amazing coffee as a reward.

I love going to local coffee shops and this place is everything good about visiting one. The atmosphere was very relaxed, the service was fast and friendly, and it was for a great price. I got a large custom Chocolate and Toasted Masrshmallow Iced Coffee for less than $5.00. And it was delicious!!They also sell coffee beans and the bag decoration is priceless lol. It makes there shop a little more unique. They grind the beans for you if you ask and the bags are very reasonably priced: about $6.50 for a half pound (I think).This place was great and definitely worth a visit; especially if you arent from Phoenix like me. It should be on your list of places to visit if you want some good coffee.

That was the best scone Ive ever had. Still warm from the oven. And the coffee is very good and well. They had three different roasts available and the medium roast had a lovely flavor that you only get from good beans, proper temperatures and clean equipment.

Coffee is outstanding FOR-SURE. Decided to try a bakery item (croissant) it was stale, very disappointing.I thought to myself dang, what a great idea it would be for Grinders Coffee shop to serve some bakery items from Karls bakery right next door. Local supporting local. If Im correct the bakery croissant that was given to me was from Costco. Won’t order that again but will Definitely be back for the coffee.

Excellent coffee. Definitely not your starbucks coffee but their Extremely Serios Caramel Macchiato is the bomb!

Grinders is the BEST quality and tasting coffee in my world! Shaleena is an amazing, friendly and capable barista; you may wait a minute or two, but the wait will soon be forgotten as you sink into a state of complete coffee bliss. My wife and I, who have our favorite coffee spots in Flagstaff, have been so disappointed at the local scene for coffee here in Phoenix (there are 3 pretty good ones). BUT! Grinders made up for, nay, exceeded the quality of our former favorites (taking nothing away from our faves, but adding one to the winner circle: Grinders! ) FYI: we regularly purchase the whole bean double french roast and drink it everyday in the mornings to start our day. Perfection every time. Grinders! Grinders! Grinders! Try em and revel in the great choice you made today! (and theyre local!!!)

I dont even need to add some kind of sweetener because its as tasteful as it is. Its a super cool and special spot!

The owner is super nice and the baristas are killing it! I don’t use killing it likely. I loved hearing about the roasting process. This little gem is a hidden oasis or coffee and nibbles.

The cost is fair for everything and the atmosphere is good. Music and all is up to the right place to visit. Good experience of feeding.

Over 20 minute wait for regular coffee and Mocha coffee.. girl was too busy flirting with customer who walked in AFTER me... she was careless and grabbed his credit card with no gloves and then went back to making coffees with her mask half off... so gross! And the 2 customers who walked in after me had no masks on 🙄😷

Security (guards?) were standing Inside in close proximity of each other chatting. No social distancing! There was one girl who is taking orders taking money and then making coffee. I didnt see her wash her hands. The owner came in with his son add allowed the child to behind the counter. The child was rolling his truck on the fridge / wall. A guy came in that the owner apparently knew. The owner gave him a high 5 and encourage the child to also give him a High 5 which the child did. Even though the chairs and tables were stacked and there was no outdoor seating sanitation is poor and social distancing was not followed.

Recently started Whole 30 so Ive been on the hunt for coffee that actually tastes good! Fortunately, a fellow hiking buddy turned me on to them ...so yummy!!

My favorite coffee shop ever. Im so lucky I live only a few miles away from this gem. Best espresso... nice bold flavor and creative flavors for lattes. I recommend nutella fluff, cookie batter and peach cobbler supreme 💚 This place is great to hang out, chat, read, just soak in the atmosphere. Great scones and cinnamon rolls, homemade pop tarts and muffins, bread. So tasty!

I have only been here since the new owners took over -- but every experience has been fantastic. Not only do they make a great cup of coffee, but they also have an excellent selection of fresh roasted whole beans to take home. Lots of happy natural light flows inside, and a patio outside features live music on the regular. Check it out!

I found the space small, but the people very friendly. And the coffee beans I take home are the best Ive found in Phoenix. I get the French Double Double and grind them at home. And they make a truly flavor-full cup of coffee.Ive only had one pastry so far which was a scone, and it was pretty good. But I will get all my coffee beans here from now on. Theyre better than my old favorite *$s French Roast. Plus, this is a local biz, run by a local. If you get a superior product from a local business, you should spread the word. Stopped in before my job interview and immediately knew I made the right choice to stop here for coffee. A small place - 8 tables but such a cool vibe here. Staff is very relational and the coffee was great. They serve swiss process decaf here which I enjoyed a lot. If youre in the area this is the only cafe you need to visit. Well worth your time!

I stumbled upon this gem after having lunch down the street. Came solely because it was the closest coffee shop to me that wasnt Starbucks. I was excited to find that Id discovered a dope coffee shop and not just another pop up. Come check it out. I love the energy and feel of the place, the dozen raw bean bins, the local art, the wrapped lapidary work, and the coffee too. Come check out this little spot and order a surprise. They are fully prepared to get crafty with a surprise if you dare.

Pleasant environment friendly people and good coffee. Lost a star for selling a small piece of banana bread for 4$!!!! WAY overpriced. Lost a sale there and in all future foods sales also. In response to the response. I saw that little piece of banana bread and in order to weigh in at 1/4 pound it must be made of lead. So while you may think it weighs in at a massive 1/4 pound I doubt the tiny piece I saw weighs anything above 1/8 at most. (Simply calling something Monster —— does not make it big or monstrous.)

Its a neighborhood spot, go there when I can, but always treated great and love thier espresso.

This place is awesome. Grinders is exactly what a local business should be, high quality and a part of the community. Dennis and his employees are great in so many ways. Anyone who spends time in the Sunnyslope area knows Grinders. It says something when the chain stores around you are closing and your business stays strong.

I like this place a lot. The coffee is organic, and is always available in three strengths, to suit your preference (mild, bold, dark). The prices are quite a bit lower than Starbucks. They have some very nice scones in the morning which I enjoy, as well as other pastries and some sandwiches which I havent tried. There is free internet, a sofa as well as both indoor and outdoor tables. And the staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, way better than Starbucks!

Well worth it to Wile out with the super serious iced espresso drinks! I have the Viennese perfectly made and very tasty. Its a smaller space, so not exactly a place youd want to go with a group to hang out. But very cute with a covered patio. One of the Baristas working was Super Sweet, positive, happy, and actually made me feel welcome there. Because she so naturally lightened my mood Id really like to give Grinders a 4.5 *rating! But sadly, 😞, I had to stick to a 4* rating. Unfortunately, the other barista on duty completely killed the happy vibes with her dark cloud Eeyore presence that made me pack up fast and roll on out. But seriously this Viennese saved my day!

The coffee was good, but in all honesty I dont I have to down grade. The scone I was craving came out burnt and hard as a rock. No real attempt to do me better. Makes me leery to return.

Friendly and fun staff, great atmosphere if you like your cafe experience to not be overly serious. The coffee and tea are great and well priced. Watch out for weekday afternoons around three. That is when the nearby highschool lets out their inmates and the place gets flooded.

There have been so many times that Ive come here only to find them closed, so today I make it a point to Google them to confirm hours. Google says open till 6:00. So I get here at 4:37 to find them closed with a little paper taped to the door with summer hours of closing at 4:00. I live in Sunnyslope but Im never coming back. Change your hours on the internet.

Everything is good. But the coffee is a bit too dark on the roasting side. Would love to see it more in line with new third wave coffee roasting style.

We get whole beans here. They roast them weekly on site. Would recommend the house special heavenly blend. My son also loves their mango smoothies.

I used to love Grinders until a visit this morning.The girl taking my order had her back to me while talking and when I mentioned I had a hearing impairment (which i was mentioning because i didnt want her to think I was ignoring her). She turned around and bitched me out because there was only two people working. I was not being rude but screw this place . I am not going to get treated like garbage because I mentioned i couldnt hear her 100% - discrimination at its finest. She was condescending from the get go . At the end of the day- do not talk to people with your back to them .In response to owners response:I never said anything about running late. I actually had an hour to get to work but I said exactly Im having trouble hearing you because I am hearing impaired.Either ways- all the excuses in the world doesnt make it okay to blame the customer because you are busy. You literally read me the riot act and talked to me as if I was stupid. There are two of us here! And I couldnt understand the rest but something about having to make breakfast with her hands out and very aggressive. That is not okay. Having a condescending smile while bitching me out doesnt change the rudeness.Had you not been condescending and defensive- then MAYBE you would have heard EXACTLY what I said vs what you THOUGHT I said.
