We went to the Apple store at South Hills Village Mall ready to purchase a laptop and to shop for a new phone. I am very much a shopper who needs to see things in person to make a decision so I prefer brick and mortor over online shopping. Unfortunately, this store cannot serve customers who cannot wear a mask. When I told the associate I’d have to take my business elsewhere they didn’t seem to care. It also seems odd that 90% of their customers are maskless in everything they do, even as they walk through the mall, yet they are willing to turn away business and have no solution to serve all potential customers. This is poor customer service.
Great visit. Joseph on the pro table knew exactly what I needed and took the time to understand what I was using the computer for. Masks are required again no big deal but made it a little warm especially with all the people in the store shopping. Clean, friendly, and some of the most knowledge I have had the opportunity to work with. Thank you!
I was eligible for an upgrade on my iPhone through Verizon, and I was able to do it through the Apple store (I never knew this was an option) which was amazing! Alisha made my experience so easy, quick, and painless! The best customer service I’ve ever had while getting an upgrade!
It was a good time in the afternoon to shop. I picked up a top that I saw in Macys. It wasnt too crowded and had a late lunch. Macys had some good sales.
You can get better discounts buying online. They won’t tell you about all the promotions you’re eligible for. They will legitimately offer you a deal worse than what you’re eligible for so save your money. If you need to see things in person I would go into the store, maybe look around, but ONLY BUY ONLINE. you can even set it up for in-store pick up if you want. Management here is particularly toxic and will gas-light customers.
It was a nice store, just like most other Apple ones, and the store associates were all very nice. However I was a bit bummed that they didnt have any other accessories for the iPhone SE (2nd Gen) other than 2 cases in black or white. Heck I dont remember seeing anything for the iPhone 11 either. Seemed to be all based around the iPhone 12 series. Which I found unusual for Apple. Ill probably just stick the the Ross Park Mall store from now on.
One of the last, great malls in the area! Always a great walk through. Oh, and the Apple store...yea!
Fast, friendly staff. Great selection of products.
Awesome store!! Very helpful and knowledgeable! Recommend
Stopped at the Apple Store with a problem in both my phone and iPad. I’ve been unable to send emails but could still receive them. Dan (supervisor) was extremely helpful and was able to correct both devices. Thank you
Relaxing helpful stress free environment!! Great staff
Always a great customer service experience. Very knowledgeable and efficient.
Service was attentive and friendly. A little bit of a wait with appointment, but generally folks went out of their way to be helpful and resolved my issue with great communication.
What an unpleasant experience every time I go here. The employees are smug, the store is a disorganized mess, I’ll stand and wait to talk to someone and people come in and weasel their way in front of me and they don’t even have an appointment and I get ignored by employees. . I don’t understand how apple is one of the most successful companies but they can’t figure out how to organize their store properly. To fix your phone it takes 4 hours- unacceptable. Most employees stand around and don’t do anything. Who ever runs this store needs fired immediately- horrible store.
A real, live, indoor shopping mall. Every store you want. Plenty of Shoppers and Clerks in every store.
Was told I was not permitted to leave the store without Apple Care for my new MacBook. I kindly said I am okay I dont need it and I will look into maybe getting it in the future. Was then told again that she doesn’t sell MacBooks without Apple Care and that I would need to spend $200 on top of the purchase that was made 4 days earlier. Reminder I was here to just pick it up, I already went through buying and debating what I need and do not need online. Do not purchase in store, you will be given the most expensive options possible, and forced into unnecessary purchases.
I really love the team, they do their best to help each customer with their problem as soon as possible. But as for as the reason of rating them a 4 stars, its because at times there arent enough staff to help each and every customer quickly since some need more attention then others, and some problems are more complex leading to other people waiting for more than half an hour. Sometimes as well, customers are sent off with a suggestion to call Apple support instead which just makes the trip to Apple a waste.Dont get me wrong though, the people have great customer services and really try their best especially during the pandemic to help everyone as soon as possible with what knowledge they have.
Staff is knowledgeable and very helpful!
I had to call ahead the day before and they make you and appointment and email you to confirm the time of your appointment. You then go inside and you are then standing in line a wait your turn to be called in to have them check out you phone. It was really well organized for as many people as are there I was really surprised and haply to be out in and out so wuick@
Walking in the village is so different..All the stores seem to close at 7:00 pm..
I took friends with apple devices there.Staff helpfull and kept me entertained while i waited.Nice.
Very clean in stores and restrooms. Only problem is people who work in food court are rude. Workers in stores are amazing very helpful and friendly
Due to the super inefficient, cannot think for themselves security they had outside the store a couple of months ago I decided to never support this Apple store again. Have been across the river twice now for Apple products.
Actually felt comfortable doing in this mall. Each store monitored the amount of people in their stores and did an awesome job enforcing social distancing. Even if people were to close there was a lady whom walked around, kindly enforcing social distancing. If have to go out, I would prefer here
Denis was very friendly, signed us in. Hal promptly took care of our ear Pod issue. Great folks!
I took my son into buy him an Apple watch SE for his Easter present & they really have their services on point;the gentlemen that helped us was super! I especially like that they didnt try to talk us into something more than what we wanted.
THERE WAS NO APPLES GOD HAS MET MY NEEDS!!!!!!!!! I ah HIGHLY allergic to apples and any kind of veggie tables but ESPECIALLY APPLES so wen I lost a game of tic tac toe my my friend who is a starfish told me I have to go to the apple store and take THREE WHOLE DEEP BREATHS. I was not having it but wen I realized the apples where actually phones I took a HUGE BITE!!
Always helpful geeks here.
Great shopping experience.
Best PGH shopping experience
Terrible. They were no help and didnt care about a customer who wasnt able to call or text from a phone.
Honestly, I havent had any good customer service experiences at this location in at least 2 years. I wouldnt shop at this location again.
Omg! Such a huge mall. So nice! Went to Hot topic! 🔥 and zumiez! Both...were on point ..as always! Bought me & the babe...some rockin awesome huff socks! ♡~
Overpriced garbage designed to break so you have to buy more
Friendly and knowledgable staff.
I dont use Apple products, but I can see how this store and its friendly employees would make the Apple experience pleasant.
Could not help unlock apple phone sent me to customer service that sent me there in the first place
The one star reviews here humor me since they are likely from disgruntled Samsung/Android groupies. The reality is that the wait times here are long, even with a scheduled appointment, but that’s because this location is almost always packed and busy. However, the staff here have always been super friendly and helpful. My iPhone 6 last year took a nasty fall and needed to have the screen replaced. Turns out they couldn’t get the screen to lay properly so they ended up giving me a replacement refurbished iPhone 6! I’m still using my phone with no issues over a year later. My wife and I bought our first iMac here in 2004, and we just replaced it a few weeks ago with a new iMac not because the old one stopped working but because it would no longer accept new software and updates. What PC lasts 13 years?! Our old, white, polycarbonate iMac is still working and is now at my mother-in-law’s house so she can learn to use a computer. Apple makes amazing quality products that are intuitive and sleek. Their products are not only functional but artistic. I’m glad to have made the switch from PC all those years ago and will continue to come here for all my Apple product needs.
This is my second time to this store for tech support. I called ahead and spoke with Mark (not sure of his last name) but he was tremendous in fixing the problem. The time wait was great. He was super helpful, courteous and knowledgeable....highly recommended!!!!
Waste of time, they don’t stand behind their products or service, and customer satisfaction is the least of their concerns try other locations!
Well the place is very nice, the people that work there are very kinda they do take a long time to get to you but I understand because there is a lot of people in the store over all I recommend you going to this Apple Store.
Meg is the most badass and friendly worker i have ever encountered! she is so informed and personable to customers! she is awesome and made my experience at apple feel like i was just hanging with an old friend! keep doing you meg!
I bought my previous phone from this store but recently I went to this store to buy a new iPhone walk-in but the security guard threatened me to go away otherwise they will call the police to arrest me. I had to go to Ross Park Mall and they were very polite and understandable.
To drive 1 hour half to get your beats head phones replaced and a i pad looked at because they dont work and be told you have to make appointment to get in is BS when all the other stores in the mall are fully functional and open but Apple its time to switch everything over to Android
Was sick for 2 days after being there
No mask, no entry!
Had a great time
Great customer service.
Fast process of buying and paying.
Long lines but good service
Tonight, I was THAT customer. I came in at 4:30, not realizing that the process of buying a new phone would take close to an hour and a half because I was unprepared. The store closes at 6. The store was so busy, but an employee put me in the virtual line and I went on exploring the products on display. I was helped by a very nice man. He was great, and helped me get set up with another employee, Larry. Larry was SO SWEET and patient. I asked about a billion questions, all of which he had answers to. Eventually, I was able to sort out the details of my new phone and the process of transferring my old files to the new one began. The gentleman that was helping me before Larry walked me through everything. I left the store feeling excited about my new phone, happy about the buying process, and thrilled to be coming back in store soon for a photography class. I appreciate that the employees are only helpful and not pushy. I read reviews about waiting in line. Apple products are in high demand, so you must wait your turn when youre in the store. Its well worth it. I have been shopping at this store since I moved to the South Hills and I have had nothing but positive experiences. Thanks for reading if you made it to the end! Heres a pic of my cat from my new iPhone!
Got put in three different lines after standing there for a long time. They gave a 2-2:15 pick up window for my device and I had to stand in line for at least a half an hour.
The staff of this Apple Store are very friendly and knowledgeable. This store was recently remodeled and is a beautiful sight to behold. Even if youre not shopping for anything, just going into this store is an experience. You can take part in one of the free workshops available every day or just have a conversation about how to get the most out of your Apple products. They have a large selection of accessories as well, most of which are on demo so you can actually have your hands on things before you purchase.
Staff is awesome here!
I had been twice to this store.... they not only do the discrimination but also the technicians who were assisting me could not resolve the issue but I had got the issue resolved at the Ross park mall apple store..they answer after 1 hr
Called in to inquire about products and trade in program only to be on hold for 10 to 15 min. Poor customer service, Ill happily take my business elsewhere.
It was good very nice helpful people
Way too many people inside, had a very long line to get in. Not too much to look at
I bought a 2020 macbook air in July for Grad school. It stopped working in October. I took it to this store which is approximately 1 hour and 1/2 away and they were unable to fix it. They instead told me they could send it off to apple repair and that it would be overnighted, repaired, and then overnighted back to my home address. This was on a Tuesday and he said the earliest I would get it would be Saturday and the latest Monday. Then the only solution they had for me since I needed a laptop to complete my school work was for me to buy another laptop or Ipad?? Well, I checked the status of my repair on Monday and it hadnt even shipped from the store or at least that is what it was showing me. I called apple support and they stated on their end it showed it was at the repair center but not being worked on. Also the support staff said it takes two days to ship not overnight and that its business days only so I would have it from 5 business days that it shipped. The apple store in Pittsburgh said they were shipping it that Tuesday evening and it actually wasnt shipped until Wednesday. It is Wednesday exactly a week since its been shipped and I dont have my laptop, have no clue where it actually is or if it is being fixed, when I will be getting it back and no one seems to be able to help me. I understand if they are backed up but they shouldnt tell a consumer that it will be fixed and returned in 5 business days if it isnt going to be and they should be able to fix my tracking status so I can see exactly where it is and what is going on. I even asked if they could exchange the laptop for another since its only a few months old and they said no it was past the 14 days. Im sorry but that is absurd. I bought this laptop because I loved my last macbook air and knew it would get me through my Grad career and now here I am without my laptop during finals week and when I have major projects due!? Unfortunately after this I will probably steer from buying from apple ever again. :-( Worst customer service!!
I like this mall. It has a lot of stores.
Customer service is just awful. Waited three days to make an appointment and call off work only to have the store close early that day and cancel the appointment. Would not recommend going here to anyone. Impossible to talk with anyone from the store.
Great mall. Had target attached.
Didnt go to Apple
Had to wait forever and was hungry af
Great service on a Sunday afternoon. Braden (spelling?) helped me get my iPhone 8 functioning. Thank you!
Horribly disorganized with the wait lines and express line. Avoid the security guards who are not Apple employees and have no clue what to do...and they security guards were making snarky remarks.
I feel like no one ever comes on these review forums to write good reviews...and my experience tonight at the Apple South Hills Village store was SUPERB so I feel it deserves to be posted. I came into the store tonight at 8:00 pm. They close at 9 pm. I was IMMEDIATELY helped by two employees who fixed my phone in 30 minutes. No charge. I wish I remembered the employees names. One had sick green shoes. Both were rockstars... super friendly, extremely helpful. GOD BLESS YOU TWO WONDERFUL SOULS. I wish I could be friends with both of you.
Have not been there recently but know excellent service.
Apple (including this store) is a total rip-off and forget about the customer service
Huge store with an amazing staff on hand. Everyone here is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable with their products. The only drawback is the price that comes with Apple products. Honestly with this store though, they teach classes and help you know your device the best you can, so in some ways the prices does make up in the end of you need it.
It’s a very nice mall. Lots of good stores. I went specifically to go to the apple store. It was my first time to this mall. Overall, I was impressed considering how so many malls are declining in attendance and stores.
Had an appointment that I arrived early for. Checked in and sat down. A guy came up to, I assume set me up with a tech and instead apparently cancelled my appointment and proceeded to ignore me for half an hour until I went back up to the front check in to ask what happened. No idea why. I said hello and showed him my broken home button, so it’s not like I was rude in any way. He asked me a couple questions then proceeded to help multiple people who arrived after me. I had two toddlers with me and knew time was not on our side in a store full of expensive fragile electronics. I had brought toys and books to keep them busy and away from bothering people or merchandise and it was working for the time being. Luckily the lady I talked to got me bumped to the front of the line since at least three people had been helped who arrived after me and again, I had an appointment until someone cancelled it for no reason. They fixed my phone and had it ready an hour and a half later just as they said. The complete lack of organization at these places is not good. It also means a lack of accountability and that you could literally sit there all day waiting after a random employee messes with your appointment. I’m sure nothing will happen and he will continue to randomly choose to cancel appoints on people because he didn’t like their shoes or whatever. Good luck, One bad apple spoils the bunch unfortunately.
I hate apple lol but real anser allways has to manny ppl inside make sure you wipe yout computers down
I visited the store on Sunday July 21, 2019 and had a terrible experience.I was welcomed with a sweet smile but the experience became sour soon. The staff is not at all friendly and I would recommend going to a store on walnut street in Pittsburgh.I needed to buy a macbook air and was using a students discount and also getting the beats studio headphone. There were two things that ruined the experience.1. For selecting the headphones (that come with laptop for free), the lady just showed me beats solo3 headphones ($200) and did not show me the beats studio3 ($349) ones that were also available with the laptop for free.2. Since I knew the offer about it, I did select the studio3 with a shadow gray color but she kept on insisting that it is not available. She also billed me for a gray color even though I kept on mentioning I want the shadow gray color and it is there on the shelf. She kept on insisting that she does not have it available in store and I can go to a different store to exchange the color.Only on mentioning that I dont want to buy the laptop in this case, she got me the correct color. She had to do the exchange for the headphones as it was already billed.I believe thats not how you deal with a customer who is there to buy a laptop !!!
Too crowded and not enough workers
Great store! Lots of tech stuff. The nice thing is you can check it out. Before you buy. Great staff.
Very nice Apple store. The employees are very nice and extremely helpful.
Went for a battery replacement. The lady there said even if you replace you won’t get a full day charge and better you replace it. I thought then what’s the purpose of replacing battery?? Anyways after replacement I went to pick up my phone and saw a crack on the screen protector. I asked how did this happen and the lady Lisa said I don’t know, it was there before. I mean there is a limit to say lie to your customer. Just be honest.
The apples there taste weird
I was here earlier to get an apple watch and everyone was super nice and they took proper precautions regarding covid. Shoutout to the employee that was helping me - his name is slipping my mind but (moved here recently from florida, 22, pitt student, slovakian, cute???) he was extremely helpful and if you somehow see this then follow the insta @valerievernik
Have to wait in line, but worth the wait.
Don’t know why everyone puts bad reviews on this but I bought my xr here and took me about 15 mins and was super painless and easy. In and out to look at the phone I wanted for about 10 mins. One guy came up to me and help me out left and came back to get the phone. Super friendly staff and the person that helped me I think was unable to talk and I’m glad that the store gave that employee a equal opportunity to work at a Apple store
Just bought a “new” Series 5 Apple Watch from this store. Got home and it’s locked with someone else’s Apple ID, so clearly it’s not a new watch I was just sold. Pretty disappointed I have to take time out of my day to go back to the store tomorrow because I was unknowingly sold a used Apple Watch.
Very nice staff. Wonderful service would recommend.
Bad services and the most employees are liars, using all lies just to sell it, and when probkem with devices they dont solve it
Love their selections
Hayley was beyond excellent ! It was very busy in store but wait wasn’t to bad. We had 2 phone issues and she took care of them both! She was our hero that day! Highly recommend this store and Her-can’t miss her she the tiny little red head! Thank you Hayley !!
Long lines over priced outdated tech, poor service.
Wasnt there!
As soon as I walked through the door, I was greeted by a friendly lady. I told her I had an appointment. I only had to wait 5 minutes or less even though I was a few minutes late. Colleen was very friendly and knowledgeable and is a super sweet lady. Even though she could not fix my phone she gave me a new one and made sure everything backed up for me. Colleen is great.
Employees are rude (Including the manager). They need to be trained how to talk properly to costumers
They paired a 44mm watch with a khaki band, brought it out to me, had it in my hand, made me wait another 30+ min because of a checkout error. Then after four of them couldn’t figure out the issue told me I couldn’t purchase it. My sales rep was super nice but the manager was rude, wasted my time, and couldn’t even find a resolution. What a joke.
I’m so beyond impressed with the service at this store today. I worked with an employee who was deaf and it was an amazing experience. He was so happy and nice and made the process go so smooth and quickly. I’m glad to see that Apple looks at everyone as being whole. The employee was very educated and knew what he was doing and was so polite. So greatful for small things as this.
LOVED that this Mall had exactly what I wanted!!
No respect for the client I stood in line for 1 hour they still forced 1 hour to submit
I tried to call this number 2 times. They had toldMe 3 hours ago they were going to call me back because they were busy. I didn’t recieve any call from this website. I am very upset with the service and I definitely won’t tolerate this behavior from them. If I were you I wouldn’t get anything from this store they are unreliable!😡😤😠
Walked in yesterday with an android phone released in 2015 and a 2009 MBP which was no longer able to be updated. Brian was very knowledgeable about all the products, even knew what processors were in which laptops and phones. I walked out with a new laptop and phone, kudos apple! I’d also like to mention that the store looked packed but I did not wait long and was greeted literally as I’m walking through the doors.
