I have only begun going to CycleMania since purchasing my Yeti through these kind folks this season, but so far the staff have always been super-friendly and helpful during my visits, to include the service folks helping me address a mechanical issue with my bike in a pinch the day before I left for an MTB trip out-of-state. This place deserves more pics and more top notch reviews. From the outside, doesn’t seem like much. Once you walk in the shop you’re transported to a bike haven. They have all the equipment you will need, are so helpful, and make you feel welcomed. If not just the friendly staff, the shop dog, Fitz (Australian Shepard) will come for his pets and love as you wait. Everything about this shop makes me want to come back for more.The staff is super friendly and super knowledgeable. I went in thinking I needed a new tyre and they directed me not to the highest price item, but to the best solution to my problem. The trust built after one visit was incredible. These are cyclists that are here for cyclists and anyone interested in bikes. To me, trust is the most important and this shop is one I certainly trust.What could they do better...so many tourists in Portland area that may like to bike, so area maps could be cool. I’d love more cycle mania gear (bottles, shirts, stickers, jerseys, etc), spruce up the outside a bit, maybe include some kind of food truck or coffee truck. But honestly, this place is AWESOME! If you are a local and need a go-to place or a tourist and stopping by for a one-and-done experience, Cyclemania is THE bike to visit in Portland.

David and the Cycle Mania team are an amazing bunch! The frame of my 5-year old carbon-fiber Trek was cracked earlier this summer, and I was facing riding my old, old bike for 18 months due to the current shortage on bikes and parts. But David miraculously found a lightly-used Trek rental in exactly my size and an upgrade at that! I am in love with my new bike, and so thankful for CycleManias amazing help! Definitely a ten out of ten for the team!

Very mixed experiences here.Pros- got some nice shoes here with a little extra discount.- they have worked me into their busy schedule.- I was able to test ride a couple saddles.Cons- was sold the wrong size stem which could have cracked my carbon bars.- they changed my 11-23 dura ace cassette to a SRAM 12-27 and threw away the perfectly fine dura ace. When he got it out of the garbage can and zip tied it there was a spacer missing.I’ve gotten very good advice here and bad advice here so I guess it depends on who you talk to.

Very knowledgeable, they sell and service a wide array of bikes. They repaired a flat on our Dahon folding bike on the spot while we waited for a very reasonable price.

There are so many great shops in the community but I feel most at home with the CycleMania team.

Ive been here twice so far and I feel compelled to write a review on service alone. my first time in was very easy as I was able to find someone immediately to help me find some tools. The second time I had the pleasure of speaking with Chris who spent a lot of time with me to make sure I was getting the right bike. He was also very knowledgeable on maintenance and happy to answer my questions about a bike I didnt even have at the shop. All around great guy going out of his way to make it a great experience.

Wonderful service! We went in in the last 15 minutes on a Saturday with more than a few questions about our mountain bikes. We thought we’d have to leave both bikes for a few weeks, but in 15 minutes we were walking out the door with everything pretty much fixed. Everyone we’ve interacted with at Cyclemania has been nothing but helpful, informative and kind. They are also very straightforward about cost and what is worthwhile to put money into. We’ve been to a few bike shops around the northeast and consistently come back to Cyclemania for the service and prices!

I highly recommend Cycle Mania. The staff is very knowledgeable and attentive.

They performed their work on time, and did what they said they would do. They informed me of possible solutions for issues they found along the way. The primary service was done well, however, I didnt feel welcomed there.When I dropped off my bike a month earlier the employee suggested that my bike simply would need a chain lube and a bottom bracket to be ridden again. He was nice, but when I asked about a bike for my daughter he suggested that their bikes might not be for me. So I left the quasi-elitist comment behind me and left my bike there for repair.One month later: I got a phone call and six text messages (within 2 minutes) telling me to come get my bike. When I arrived to the shop to get my bike the employee who spoke with me asked me if I needed help, then treated me as if I was bothering them by asking for the repaired bike back. When it was wheeled out to me it had someone elses tires wrapped around the handlebars, and no seat installed. My bike had a make-shift seatpost mount when it arrived to their shop. It wasnt pretty but it was solid and I could sit on the bike. It was returned to me without a seat even attached to the post, and the post no longer clamped in place. When I asked where the clamp was that held the seatpost in place, I got a scoff, and, You want it back? for a reply.If I didnt have to replace missing parts that needed special measurements I would not have gone to a bike shop.

I was referred to CycleMania by another bike shop several months ago when I desperately needed assistance putting a new BB on a new frame I purchased online. Tyler took my call that day and was the most delightful person to work with! He was patient, informative and willing to spend the time teaching me some of the basics of building a bike from scratch. Since then he has helped me build a road bike, purchase a cyclocross bike and helped my husband with the purchase of an e-bike. Ive been going there for years and theyve outfitted myself and my family with all manner of bikes from kid bikes to my wifes Tri-for-a-Cure bike to a full-suspension mountain bike. I love the place. They were very helpful and gave me a ton of free advice as I try to do basic maintenance and installs myself. I couldn’t even buy direct from Trek). They shipped me this beauty all the way from Portland, Maine to my home in Vermont! It got here (mostly assembled & tuned) in just TWO DAYS! Super grateful for their service. A+ would definitely recommend.

Ive had great experiences here, starting with bikes bought and serviced at the old location, but today was a disappointment. Staff completely snubbed us and appeared to have more important things to do (on phones) than service three bikes. Vibe was condescending, egotistical, and sexist. Even old ladies can be athletes under the attire!

While on a bike tour needed some repairs done on both bikes, they were the only shop for hours around that had both the tires we wanted and a tech to look at my deraileur. We showed up ten minutes to closing and they fixed everything up in 9 minutes. Astounding, we were so appreciative and were back on the road! Di2 battery went dead, dropped off bike, received call an hour later that bike was ready for pick-up. Good discussion with the tech, Tyler, about corrosion on old battery and possible causes. Experience exceeded my expectations.

Arrived in Portland on cruise ship about 9am and walked to CycleMania to rent 2 bicycles for my wife and I. We got there a little before opening, but were helped right away and set up with 2 bikes and helmets and a lock. We had learned about some of the bike paths that Portland had to offer and were anxious to get going, and CycleMania got us out there before their opening time.Thanks for all your help.
