One of my favorite stores in Portland. I have had C&R make multiple gifts for friends in the area. They always help me put together the ideal gift, within my budget. I have several pieces of theirs in my home and I love it all. My favorites are a hanging wall snake, and a little air fern I’ve had for about a year. If you havent ventured into the shop, its fabulous! XXOO
Absolutely love the cute little wall plant holder I got for my new apartment a little over a year ago. Sadly the plant has since died cuz I thought I was taking good care of it but over the past 2 months it slowly turned brown and died. 😓
I love Carter & Rose for many reasons especially around the holidays. First, the original hand crafted unique items make wonderful gifts. Second, the service and friendliness of the employees makes it a treat. Lastly, the affordability during these times is greatly appreciated!I highly recommend shopping on line or in store if you happen to be in Portland! Thanks, Oliver
Carter & Rose is a boutique that I have heard so much “good” about over the years. I ordered a birthday gift remotely and they were very helpful. They put together a box gift for someone I know, that loves their little snakes and planters.I’m super excited to work with them again.
Ever since stumbling into the shop 3 years ago while visiting the area, Carter & Rose has been a reliable source for me to find an impressive selection of beautiful and unique gifts for my loved ones. During the beginning of the pandemic I saw the owner was putting out bags of clay for the community, posting regular online clay classes, and firing your creations... all for free!! That takes a lot of work and organization to pull off and it helped provide many parents suddenly needing to care for their kids 24/7 while working from home with some relief. Throughout all of my experiences with the owner and her staff, I have had above and beyond customer service. Anna is someone who not only truly cares about her local and global communities, she takes action with these values in mind to make the world a more inclusive and cohesive place. I was so grateful for Carter & Rose this year to score some amazing boxing day deals that help support talented local makers instead of feeding the cycle of cheap mass-produced industrial products. Also, I cant wait til I come by when the food truck next door is open... My husband did not stop talking about how incredible this type of loaded hot dog was!
Such a sweet makers/gift store. I LOVE this store and everyone else who discovers it at my urging does too. Locally handmade art with function is my favorite!!
Curated goods, so many cute things to look at in such a small space. The downsides: the prices are pretty steep, comparatively to other small shops in SE Portland ($38 for a ceramic mug, yeesh).Another off-putting encounter: I said thank you to the cashier as I was leaving, but she was unimpressed with my lack-of items and didnt reply. Made me feel bad as a customer and I am more hesitant to shop at a place that only treats people warmly if they BUY something. Though Ive been on Division since, I havent been back here :/
Carter&Rose is exceptional. Their hand made products are very cool!Customer service cant be beat!
Purchased some things during the anniversary sale! Love all the items I purchased! Great customer service! Really well curated, hope to visit one day in person.
I never leave reviews but this place deserves one! Carter and Rose is an incredible little store with a great atmosphere. All merchandise is local or handmade and everything is to die for. Their jewelry and planters are always adorable, and I’ve done their open clay night a few times and it’s always a great date night or girls night!
I went to Carter and Rose for their open clay in order to meet new people in my neighborhood. I was so enraptured I came back to buy some accent elements for my apartment. The staff and space are amazing. Dont miss out by not coming here.
100% the cutest store on division! Carter and Rose has the best local gifts and art and their wall planters are a must have. They even come with an air plant when you purchase one. The staff is always very knowledgeable and kind. I recommend everyone check out this sweet little store when their in town!
I purchased a hand-made soap dish from Carter & Rose and could not be more satisfied. Anna and the C&R team really know how to make great products!
Carter and Rose is a must stop shop in Portland! I love that the store supports and highlights local artists. It is my first stop when looking for a gift and their decor never disappoints. I dare you not to take photos of their beautiful planter filled walls!
Carter and Rose is the cutest shop!! One of my favorite shops in Portland. This store is seriously Instagram goals! Ive meet Anna the owner and maker of Carter and Rose a few times at pop-ups they do at local markets and she is really nice and so talented. The store has a really great atmosphere and is so inviting. Nice and clean, airy, and bright. A great local shop to shop and support. So cute, modern, and hand made. Id definitely recommend coming to see for yourself.
Carter and Rose is a Portland treasure. Not only is it woman owned but it’s also filled with local art and the most AMAZING staff. Open clay is a super fun time and if your clay creation cracks in the kiln that has nothing to do with the staff. Definitely the best place to visit when you’re in PDX!
My mom and I went here a few times and the past two times they were a mess. The first, they broke my moms item and never called and didnt offer a refund at first, they lost my stuff for a while and the lady we talked to in person got back to us about it or told the manager like they said they would. We emailed the manager and she sent a picture of an item that was not mine; meaning that item was without a label and they didnt know whose it was either. After some emailing back and forth, we received a gift card for my mom to re-do her item and enough for me to do something too after they found my items weeks later. We went in and I took my boyfriend as well, my boyfriends piece came back broken and glued back together very carefully as to try and hide it as if it was the oven that cracked it. (They told my mom when her bowl was broken that she must have made it so air bubbles could get in and break it) My item had multiple chips, and they didnt finish glazing my moms items. Not to mention, the lady working there the past two times had no clue what she was talking about. Whenever we asked her advice on how we can prevent chipping or cracking she just went, hmmmm... as though she didnt know and we would put out suggestions and then she would just agree with them and say yeaaahh. Any advice in general we asked about clay she didnt seem to know. I knew more than her and I am by no means skilled with clay, and she WORKS there. I am a very understanding person but I am super disappointed with this place and surprised it has the reviews it does.
Customer from their online store. Fast shipping and great communication. Gorgeoussss creations that match my boho theme home. Thank you! I want more :) will order again soon!!!
Open Clay Night was great with Anna! What an awesome amenity for the local Richmond community. We were visiting for a few days, and she kindly offered to post our clay pieces to us after theyd been fired in the kiln (which can usually take a week or so).If youre after a fun activity, or perhaps some unique gifts, check out this place!
