Beautiful location, lovely flowering trees, places to sit and stand out of the rain. There are benches to relax on too. Parking can be difficult but it is worth finding a spot and walking around, dont forget to pay for your space. The store is fun to look through.
Lovely gift shop for those who love roses. I purchased gifts for my friends who tend our community rose garden back in AZ. 🌹🌹 Only drawback is that the store is small and cramped. Wish it were larger to better accommodate the many shoppers, who were browsing. The staff/employees were very helpful and patient.
Love the store for gifts. I came up today and it was closed. Seems as though holiday hours are not updated online. I shouldve called first.
While visiting the park, and Japanese tea garden I stopped at the store while waiting for the free park shuttle. The lady inside was getting ready to close up for the night but graciously invited me inside to have a look around. I collect travel pennies that you wind up in a machine and they print a design of the location. I was having troubles with the machine and she was very helpful at sorting out the issue. The selection of items in store are fun, whimsical and unique. The staff are wonderful too. Thank you for making my first visit to Portland memorable.
When I brought only a few small items to their cashier counter, the lady there took them to the other side of the counter and put some additional items in the bag and charged my credit card. I’m glad my eyes just caught it when she put a bottle of body lotion that I didn’t bring to the counter and so I checked the contents of the paper bag before I sign the receipt and found 2 unfamiliar items.I requested her to cancel the payment and do it again with the correct price, then she requested me to sign the original receipt with the wrong price which says “I agree to pay the above amount” so I refused but she tried to push me to sign it and insisted they will refund it later. I still refused to sign it and finally the other lady said they can do it without me signing the original receipt.Pretty sketchy huh? If that was a pure mistake that’s ok everyone makes mistakes but somewhat I felt maybe they picked it up on me because I look like a foreign sightseer who is easy to fool.
Gift shop within the Portland International Rose Garden.Everything or mostly rose-related products, thereby, you immediately are met by the sweet smell of roses the moment you enter. The shop itself reminds me of an english cottage.A lot of beautiful and tempting items. Regret not getting more of the rose-scented car freshener and candles. Simply divine. A definite buy!!!The lady on duty at time of our visit was very pleasant.
The Rose Garden is laid out with grass paths between the rows of rose bushes, allowing easy access to a variety of camera angles. You can walk right up and touch the roses if you wish, taking in their beautiful aroma. There seemed to be an infinite spectrum of colors available. I thoroughly enjoyed the morning.
An excellent place to relax, take some pictures and have a walk through fragrant rose beds. Located approximately 10 minutes from downtown Portland by car, 20 minutes by bike- it‘s mostly uphill. The Rose Garden Store features a Penny Pincher/ Penny Press Machine if you are into these kind of souvenirs like me. It‘ll cost you the usual two quarters and a penny, make sure you bring or ask for a shiney one.
Happily busy when we were here, made it hard to find a spot.
The roses here are colorful. The gardens here are lovely. Every color rose is here. This is nature at its best. I enjoyed my day at this place.
Wonderful area. An array of lovely roses. Witch I love to smell. Parking can be a pain
Decently priced merchandise. Definitely try the rose tea samples at the counter
The rose garden is abundant with beauty, color, and aromas that cant be found anywhere else on Earth in one place. Its a seemingly infinite array of rose petals, a little slice of heaven nestled in Portland.I cant say the same for the gift shop.A sign on the door reads No food or drink inside the store, so sweetie pie and I consumed our goods outside before entering, in plain view of the shop attendant. As we are about to walk inside the door gets shut on us and the open sign gets abruptly turned over to closed. Slightly bewildered we ask if we can take a quick peruse through the shop and we are told that unless we know exactly what we want the answer is no and that she NEEDS to be out of there by 7:00 pm. Well it was 7 on the dot, the shop was full of people, so I can only assume she turned into a pumpkin in front of all of them and let out her embarrassing secret.
Maybe im just a nerd when it comes to roses, but the portland rose garden is one of my favorite zen spots in the entire city. If your a tourist with limited time, its probably not on the short list, but if you have lots of time then it is a great place to check out. beautiful park.
It was pricy but great service
