I brought my truck in with what was an impossible or extremely time-consuming task for me to do and Jason & the Stingray team took on the project, diagnosed the issue, ordered the parts, and kept good communication while the parts were being sourced and installed. For an unscheduled drop-in with an unknown electrical problem they had me back up and running in no time at all. It wasnt the price I was wanting to pay, but was more than happy to pay it because I know had I tried to take it on myself I wouldve spent triple the time, may have caused more damage, and wouldnt have gone above and beyond to make sure all problems along the way were addressed. Overall great value & good service - WILL DO BUSINESS WITH AGAIN FOR ALL OF OUR VEHICLES! Highly recommend.
This used to my go to shop for a while as I prefer to pay to local shops than chain stores, I even recommend this shop to many of my friends.I left my car there for sway bar change, which I had done before from another shop. The labor came out to be 1.5 hour, so I asked why so. The shop owner replied he had to take differential down. I told him that wasnt necessary, to cut it short it didnt go so well with him. I was also charged computer generated shop supplies fee which was conveniently 10% of total charge. Not going back again or recommending shop to anyone anymore. Again, I was standing and talking to friendly mechanic at shop in Raleigh when he did the same job, I know countless people who did it at home with a jack and no one had to move differential down.I even offered to put those aftermarket sway on another car I had (same model). I told him that If he couldnt get sways out from side and had to move differential down, I would pay the full labor he charged again.Edit: going through the reviews, I saw one response from stingray to one that said Do we make mistakes? Yes.. But they get very angry if you say the made one.
Very Professional and 100% about customer satisfaction. Took my Dodge in for some power steer work; Jason & his techs were relentless on working to fix the issue. I recommend as they can service all makes/models and are very professional.
Look no further! This place is TOP NOTCH for professional, fair, quality service. The guys are sincere and thorough. I didnt realize service like this still existed, especially on the Eastside. I cannot recommend Stingray Auto Repair enough whether youre looking for an oil change or a full engine replacement, the guys know their stuff and will offer you the best deal in town.
Ive been going here for years, taking advantage of the Groupon oil changes. When I needed breaks on one car and major repairs on my other car, I took them here. Great service, Honest service, Jason explained everything that my cars needed and didnt need. Found out my mother took her corvettes here back in the day too. Thank you Stingray.
Always transparent and fair. An excellent repair facility in a sea of questionable organizations.
The repairs to my truck were done quickly and on time. The price was very fair. The staff is friendly and easy to communicate with.
Fixing things correctly takes time and time is money, they are fair and honest. We had a power steering leak that poured fluid all over our driveway. Had our car towed to the shop and had it fixed.Jason and Justin communicate well and take the time to explain repairs in terms anyone can understand.Recommend them to your friends.
Fast service. Friendly. Honest about what is wrong with your car. They do charge a pretty penny premium for some parts. Everyone’s gonna make money, but....yeah. 4/5
I bought an oil change from them on groupon in March, tried multiple times to call and set up an appointment. Every time I call I get the voicemail system. After leaving multiple voicemails asking for a call back- I call today to find out that they either did not get my messages or just neglected to write them down. Anyways the guy say’s they don’t have any opening until June 21st. Presumably I just got lost in the shuffle of paperwork. Seeing as there are so many other automobile repair shops around I would advise seeking them out for lower rates and a more timely service.
1. Appointment got rescheduled without notice;2. Told me 1 hr later after taking my car that AC recharge cannot be done as they don’t have the refrigerant type, while I provided all the vehicle details when making appointment. And they didn’t even make a call to save some time.Waste of time, won’t visit again.
I have always had wonderful experiences with Stringray! They have been nothing but friendly and professional for the many years I have been going to them! Their prices are hard to beat, they are fair and honest, and they go above and beyond for even a small service such as oil changes. My car and I thank you!!
I had a Groupon and drove further than I expected to get an oil change, I was late and it was pouring rain out and they still did the change. It was super fast and I was back on the road in a little less than an hour. Great service.
Fast, no B.S., expert advice, problem fixed. Thank you.
Small issue but resolved. They are close to home and take it into the shop very quick.
I was a customer for the last 8+ years, I’m officially done. Owner/manager Jason only cares about making money. This place is consistently more expensive than any other shop I’ve used. Poor communication. I’ve had 2 experiences now where I get my car back and it’s got a new issue that it didn’t have prior to bringing it in. Stingray will offer no help/ solution without charging me more. Horrible business
Great place for oil change for my VolvoXC60.
Great Service. Less expensive than my long time mechanic! Id recommend to anyone!
Hands-down, the best mechanic shop in the valley! I’ve been a customer of Precision for years. They always take such great care of their customers... Honest, hard-working and sincere, the owner and, staff and mechanics provide excellent service
I like this place because they are always very honest about the repairs and maintenance options. Have used them for our Toyota for many years. I first went to them asking for brake pad replacement after the dealership asked me to get brake pads replaced because they were dangerously depleted. Stingray told me that I did not have to worry about that for at least two years. Did not charge me a penny.Recently I purchased a Honda which came with lifetime free oil changes from the dealership. Naturally I went to the dealership when the car was due for maintenance. Per the Honda manual, I had to get a few “inspections” in addition to the oil change. The dealership quoted $100 on top of the free oil change. I called Stingray who said they do the inspections for free when we get the oil change by them. Total cost $80.
Used Groupon offer which was pretty cheap compared to other conventional oil change businesses. Their appointment runs usually 3-4 weeks. Oil change took around 45 min despite on time. So bit slower compared to regular oil change places. They also do basic inspection during oil change and let you know what is due for maintenance. Never used for repair or maintenance but overall satisfied on oil change service
I have gone to them twice. These guys are professional. Service was done on time. Reps were friendly.
These guys are fantastic. My 10-year old car started having issues for the first time ever literally weeks before I was due to drive across the country. Justin in particular was great and very patient with me calling up repeatedly to ask questions and check on things while I was stressed out. They are thorough when diagnosing the issues and didn’t charge me a dime for it. The prices for the actual repairs are very fair, they treated me with respect and didn’t talk down to me like I’ve experienced with other auto shops. I’m very grateful for all the work they put in and highly recommend them.
Amazing customer service! My radiator ate it when coming into Seattle, and even though I didnt have the money to pay for their service, they let me park my car there while I waited for a buddy of mine to come help me out. They were super nice, and professional.
I vowed to never return. I still have 2 punch cards for 3 oil changes I bought from Groupon and I threw into the shredder. The owner Jason is a big money eater and Ive tried them out two times already but he still tried to rip me off so I have had enough of this place. They charged me full price for oil change and not at the groupon price.
They treated me with respect. They assessed my vehicle and told me what was most urgent to fix. They didnt overcharge. When they found they didnt need some parts they said I needed, they didnt charge me for them or pretend I still needed them. They fixed the vehicle in the time they promised. GREAT customer service. Will take all my vehicles to them in the future.
This is the worst experience I have had at a shop. They took 7 days to do a job that they said would take a day. They then didn’t actually fix the problem. Took it back in when they said they would make it right. Then they ordered the wrong part and tried to convince me that there wasn’t actually a part that could fix what I needed. I literally googled the part and it came up on multiple websites including amazon. They had the car for another 3 days. Then locked my keys in the car causing me hours of delay to my day not to mention missed hours of work. When I tried to explain my frustration the staff were rude, then ignored me and started a conversation with my male partner. Worst experience ever! I will not be going back!
Always great customer service!
Stingray has been working on my car for a few years now, and I have always been satisfied with their work. Justin is a very professional, helpful guy. They are probably a little more expensive than other shops further out from the city center, but they also have to cover overhead in a very expensive city, and for me, the fact that they are an easy bus ride away cancels that concern out. Ill keep coming back so long as the work remains as good.
Technicians and staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Had my vehicle towed to the shop and was ready the next hour. The level of their professionalism remain unmatched!
Great service
I tried this place out after seeing them on Groupon. They seemed honest - they didn’t try to up sell me on expensive repairs that I don’t have an expertise on. They did give warnings to projected future maintenance costs. Based on my interactions, I will very likely return to this place to address future maintenance needs.
Great service with a helpful staff. Im very impressed!!
Good people good oil change prices on Groupon.
Justin and Team were amazing! I was referred to them by the driver from AAA, and they were able to get me in quickly and take care of all the issues on my vehicle at a very reasonable price. I had breaks, oil, steering pump and full inspection done. Thank you Stingray Auto!
Reliably good at auto repair and maintenance
Fantastic service and amazing staffing. Never had a negative encounter with diagnostics or repairs. Hands down, the best around (Seattle and Redmond locations).
Super great guys! They were able to replace my fan motor at half the cost of what other mechanics quoted me. Really honest and great service!! I will definitely be using them to take care of my vehicle from now on.
Happy with my service, great Groupon deal! Everyone there is nice and professional. Just a bit upset that after free inspection I was told my break pads needed replaced. I had them done just a year ago all new high quality pads, rotors, calipers. Was told the front was 10% and back 30%. Since they were under warranty I took them back to my mechanic, they were correct on the front.. but back were fine 70%. Just get a second opinion.
I have to share how incredible these guys are! Last night, my car completely overheated while I was on my way across the mountains. I pulled over into the closest parking lot I could find, and by some stroke of luck, it happened to be Stingray Auto Repairs parking lot. I popped in to ask if I could park there quickly, and instantly, the guys ran out to see what was going on.They were about to close, but they took over and told me they were on it. I had just taken my car to another mechanic, and they had made several mistakes that caused my car to overheat and almost ruined the engine. There we were, the shop closed, my car sizzling, steaming, and splashing coolant and water everywhere, and the two guys on duty doing their best to get it up and running. They took care of the issues and saved my car. They assured me it was ready for the long drive ahead and told me what to do if it ran into any more trouble. They took their time and helped me even though they were closed. When I asked them how much I owed, they refused to let me pay. I am in awe of how kind, skillful, and attentive they were and I cant express my gratitude more! I highly suggest them and I know they are my new go-to shop if I ever need one again.
Experienced a failed water pump a mile of where they were located. Called them up on recommendation of a local Japanese service garage. Justin was totally fair and helpful. Got a new pump and fully serviced between 3pm and closing time at 6pm. Wow! Great job team at Sting Ray. Good service! Thanks now I can get home tonight the same day - 2 hours away.
Excellent customer service. Quick on getting things done. Had my oil change with them earlier. Today when I went for the free brake inspection again, they gave me honest opinions. Didnt try to scare me and get it repaired at their place like another company.Highly recommended! Thank you guys!
I stopped in to stingrays because it was across from my hotel. I had a tire light on my rental car. Justin at the front counter promptly pulled the car in and checked the pressures. I felt better knowing they were good. He told me the possibilities of the light and options, and did not charge anything for his time and efforts knowing it was a rental and not a return customer. That is good people. Prompt, courteous and professional. Thank you guys.....James Trueblood, Specialized Import Auto, Anchorage, Alaska.
I used this garage for years, went to the location in Seattle (the folks there are also great) when they replaced their super helpful, but quirky front desk manager with an absolute tool (in the derogatory sense). I came back when I found out they had a new guy up front as this location is closer to me. Ken is awesome and the techs in the back are great. As always, you should always do your research and asks questions, but this is the garage I go to for regular maintenance and trouble-shooting.
Super honest, go out of their way to help and way less expensive than the dealership shops.
Very good, reasonably priced. However if you need any parts you’ll have to pay upfront.
I have been to stingray for three oil changes and always refer my friends here as well. They are so easy to work with and do an amazing job. All of my oil changes have been speedy and done well, and theyve often fixed other little problems my older car has had. Theyre pricing is the best around too!
They are so sweet, caring, and understanding here. I will gladly go back again. They were quick and affordable.
I got in a really nasty car accident a year ago, a lady turned into me out of nowhere on a straightaway, and I instantly feared about what I would do about finding a new car. God placed all of the pieces together for me and has faithfully brought the most honest, hardworking, quality, and knowledgeable men into my life over the last year to piece together my new adventure vehicle. Now Im a poor college student and extremely money savvy. I wanted to find quality at the cheapest price (tough to do and kinda an oxymoron in some ways ;) ) Jason most definitely deserves high praise and will take care of you! As a woman shopping in the auto industry, Im even more vulnerable to scams and no reliability, so Im extremely happy to share with you all my recommendation for a reliable, honest businessman to support on the Eastside! He solidified a honest business persona for me to follow as my Senior year comes to an end.
Great guys! We popped a tire a few blocks away from their shop with no lug wrench, uh oh! When we rolled up these guys helped us jack up our truck and swap tires for no charge. That was super awesome nice of them!! Great customer service even for people who arent customers! They saved our day for sure.
Justin was very helpful answering my questions and explaining concerns he found during my oil change and brake inspection.
Cheap and quality work comes standard here, but you pretty much have to drop off the car and wait all day to get anything done. If you have the time, then this is the place for you. They do quality work, but sometimes I have noticed they dont catch everything, or are too busy to be thorough. I just follow up with them on all the points and it works out fine. I have taken 3 cars here and spent a few thousand dollars. Overall I am satisfied with everything, but the process can be frustrating sometimes.
Stingray is a great local shop. They do great work. They understand budget constraints of customers. Great shop to create an ongoing relationship with.
Never made it to the shop itself before I vowed to never return. Mind you, I still have a punch card for 3 oil changes. I would rather do it myself than allow them to touch my truck. ....when you keep asking a customer to pay $18 for parking on your lot for same day service....you inform me that you are not what I seek in auto repair business.
Always a great experience, usually happy to remind you to get a Groupon for oil change.
Jason is great, hard to find an honest car dealer but he is that and then some, highly recommended!
Great job, very good prices, and when I get an oil change, Justin simply tells me what the mechanic recommends, if anything is needed or looming, without the pushy scare tactics of previous shops. Im usually able to get an appointment within 8 business days, and when I was stuck in traffic, running fifteen minutes late, he said if I am able to be there no later than twenty minutes late, he could still get me in. Knowing in advance the appointment wont be scheduled for tomorrow, and that the appointments are arranged carefully to get everyone in on time, where running late can cause problems, should eliminate the surprise of having to reschedule if youre very late. Running even a half hour late will cause the next person, and the next, to have to wait an extra half hour, and we all know how much we like it when we arrive five minutes early and all of a sudden the no show before us arrives twenty-five minutes late, and now we have to wait an additional twenty five minutes. So you may be asked to reschedule. Also, they have very limited parking and in a neighborhood where parking is $18 a day, and the Groupon rate for an oil change is $15, people have taken advantage of the parking, leading to the rule stating that if you park all day after your oil change, you will be charged the $18 lot parking rate. Understanding the reason behind it and of its existence in advance, should save some people from the shock and anger.
The work they perform is good, however they are over priced. Usually the dealership is 15% higher than independent shops. Not the case regarding Stingray. They are usually equal or higher in price than the dealership. I might as well stick with the dealership or find another independent with reasonable pricing.
Just had my 1993 GMC Sierra serviced there for a water freeze plug leak. Extremely professional, friendly and efficient.Im very pleased with all their staff. Pleasure to do business with...Five Stars....
Ive been a customer here for several years and they have always taken good care of my cars. They run an honest business. They tell me when my cars need repair or how long I can wait for repairs.
Extremely helpful car service, and they were willing to work with my poor person budget.
Oil change was done on time and didnt have to wait long. No one tried to upsell unnecessary parts and services. A-1 in my book!
Justin served me and he was so enthusiastic and friendly! They fixed me up and I was ready to head back to SJ all in less than 4 hours (checking what went wrong and replacing the parts). Very thankful!
Good mechanic shop. Honest guys! If you are in this area, go to this shop.
Excuses, excuses, excuses. 4 weeks to schedule anything over multiple years, no matter what the excuses are, is the definition of BAD management. If you dont think it is, look up capacity planning - its easy to understand. And to think you win by arguing with a potential customer? You lose when they walk along with the people they know. Basic management knowledge. You may think you have enough customers to burn and stay busy, at some point your diminishing reputation will catch up with you.
I had gone for oil changes many a times and they fixed brakes on few of my cars. I have always found them to do decent jobs.About last year our old and reliable Toyota Prius needed a new Hybrid battery and Jason who is an owner of this auto-shop quoted $2500 vs Bellevue Toyota dealers quote of $3800. The car worked alright after installing a new hybrid battery for almost a year. But, few months ago, it developed some issues with the hybrid battery and they did warranty replacement. Subsequent to this replacement, we experienced another warning sign for hybrid battery in last few weeks thus I took the car back and this time, we had to replace 12 volt battery. Again, it It all looked good for few days and same warning issue popped up for hybrid battery. Frankly, I was getting worried and wondered if I should just go to Toyota dealer to get my car fixed. But, Jason assured me that he will check it out and they found a faulty sensor that caused hybrid system and battery to fail. Not only he replaced the faulty sensor for free but test drove the car for a long time to ensure all looked good. Jason could have charged $95 for the faulty sensor plus 2 to 3 hours of diagnostics and labors to repairs too. Since, they didnt catch this issue before, he didnt charge anything was the reason given to me - I appreciate their integrity and care shown towards workmanship. Thank you Jason for being honest Auto-shop owner. Kudos for job well done!
Friendly and cooperating staff, prompt service. Their service fees are very competitive.
Great customer service. Good prices.
These guys are great! Honest and transparent. They have won me as a customer for life.
Seem like good guys. Received fair advice and no pressure to fix what wasnt urgent. A little expensive since in city but to be expected for location
Great staff and always thinking of their customers.
They are awesome, honest, and great at what they do. I had a minor problem and they fixed it for free. I think I found my new favorite mechanic shop.
These guys are the best!! Always trust them with my car and if anything goes wrong they make it more than right to you. Great guys.
One of the MOST professional and trustworthy mechanics I have ever taken my cars to. Amazing price and experienced.
Got my van in next day and fixed it quick.
Great service - feels like youre getting honest service which is what customers truly appreciate with auto repair places.
Jason Shackelford the owner is the most upstanding business owner. Not only is he honest but compassionate. My son needed repairs on his vehicle. After my son told him that his son was airlifted to childrens for a life threatening surgery. Jason told my son there was no charge....Who does that? Thank you Stingray automotive and repair.
Very helpful and professional staff. Quick service. Its no wonder theyre so popular.
Employees are polite, helpful, honest and transparent, and the work is good quality auto service and they work quickly when possible. Prices seem very fair and transparent.
Good place easy to find. Staff is polite and helpful. Small garage, good for oil change and regular service.
Owner and crew provided quick solid work. Trusted them from the start
Stingray Auto Repair staff was super respectful. I trust these guys a lot because they always inform me exactly what my car’s problem is, without trying to charge me for any unnecessary work or parts.Recommended.
I found Stingray via a Groupon for oil changes, and had them replace my front brakes on my Honda Element. The price was reasonable, cheaper than the Honda dealer, and I was impressed with Justin at the front desk. They dont seem bent on telling me I have to replace x number of other things everytime I bring the car in, unlike the Honda dealer.
Kind of in a weird location where you have to be able to make a quick left or else you could be the cause of a backup. Appointments can be hard to come by if you need something right away. They are pretty busy with oil changes due to the number of Groupon that they run for the service. I think they hold the best value for the standard oil change. Can get one for an average of $12. Even if you dont have a Groupon, they have a sign that says that they do it for $16.If you need an oil change, try to plan it so that you can get it done in time. I havent got anything else done except oil changes, but reviews are mixed on Yelp with the prices.
While I am sure Stingray is great for North American cars, there were a number of issues with work done on my European car:1. The cover for the oil filter was over-torqued and let to oil leakage (and almost required a replacement which would have been hundreds of $$)2. replaced brakes with substandard parts for a high performance European car which quickly warped.3. I was late for an appointment by ~20 minutes to use the Groupon and was told it could not be rebooked and use the Groupon. This is certainly noted, however, things do happen.
Super nice guys!! Ill be taking my Highlander there for all mechanical work from now on
Super helpful people and easy guidances. Good place.
Awesome experience! Super easy, convenient and Justin was incredibly helpful.
Ken is a great guy. Extensively helpful with a very difficult car.
Seems pretty trustworthy. My go to place for oil changes and car questions.
Had been a satisfied customer for a few years but that has changed.
Quite simply, these guys are awesome.
If you are looking into having your car repaired here and are reading the positive reviews only, PLEASE READ.I was like many people who pay attention to all the five star ratings and thought this would be a good place. I have seen a few one star ratings and little or nothing in between. Which probably means that they have really great days, really bad days and probably have friends and family give this place a cheap five star rating. Cheap.I took my car in because I thought I had a sticking caliper. They inspect the brake system and it turned out that all I needed was a new caliper. GREAT!I leave and about two weeks later it starts sticking again. I take it back in and they make me pay for it this time around. Turns out it was a proportioning valve. Some what unhappy, but mistakes happen.I leave and within about a week later it does it AGAIN. Turns out that it was a brake line. You mean to tell me you didnt check the brake line?Worst. Place. Ever.
Honest guys that will give you reliable service
I went to StingRay auto with an issue that sometimes when my car heated up the steering wheel was shaking visibly. They root caused it to a transmission issue and told me I had to replace the transmission. I paid 5Gs and got it replaced. Came back and within 3 weeks saw the same problem again. Went and talked to them and they said they could not reproduce the issue and this is when they started being defensive, and made statements like “this has nothing to do with the transmission we changed” - huh? Did I not come to you for this issue.. so why did we replace the transmission? They told me the transmission anyway needing replacement. I’m an idiot to have trusted them instead of getting a second opinion. Second time they kept the car, did a free oil change and told me the issue could have been because of low oil. Very next day I was driving on 520 and saw the issue. I took a video and called them from the car. They were now in the stage of washing hands off. “This does not seem like a structural problem - it should be with the tires - wheel balancing etc…” I got frustrated and took it to Goodyear in Redmond.I showed them the same video. Their mechanic Omed looked at it, drove the car, reproduced the issue and diagnosed it to the Left caliper seizing and unable to turn the tires once it heats up. This is what caused the issue. They fixed the issue in 4 hours and I was happy.Stingray have low quality mechanics who can’t diagnose problems, they don’t own their faults and blame others without even fixing the problem. I have a lawsuit coming up for them as I’m a lawyer by trade so don’t expect to get oil changes from them any more. If I were you, I would check if they actually replaced the oil or just reset the oil change indicator and sent the car right out.The one star in my review is because I cant give zero and still post.
Quick and cheap way to get oil changed
Awesome!
Great Groupons for oil changes
Always fair. Been taking my car here for years.
