The staff was GREAT! They took the time to make sure I felt comfortable. I had a very bad experience with the last eye doctor I visited 5 yrs ago and was skeptical about visiting another doctor, but I was really impressed by all of the women at the location! Going to make sure my next an covers Dr.Tavels office with my new job.

The staff was amazing so friendly and, knowledgeable! The exam it’s self was the the most through exam I’ve had my life! The doctor explained what she was doing and, what my results mean!

Arrived at my appoint 15ish mins early, had to wait almost 2 hours before I was seen.Asked to talk to a manager about another matter, called back again 2 weeks later. Was told she called and left a message. Checked my messages, no message was left. Called back again, asking if she could call again, was told she already left a message. Had to explain myself and still havent heard from the manager.Feel like the manager was never told or this company doesnt care about customer services.Wish I could leave 0 stars!!!!

I recently had an eye exam at Dr.Tavels.. Im 23 years old and havent been to an eye dr since i was probably like 8 yrs old. I have an irrational fear of any kind of doctor 😂 so ofcourse i went in nervous as can be especially for the puff of air but, the puff wasnt bad at all. I honestly laughed at myself afterwards for fearing it. the staff in this office were INCREDIBLE. They were sweet, curtious, calming. All very polite and helpful. They reassure you every step of the way and answer all of your questions. I felt comfortable and at home from the minute i walked through the door until the minute i left. Absolutely a great place to be all around.So, a Big Thank you! To the ladies at Dr. Tavels. I truly appreciate the calming environment and wonderful service.

Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Most thorough eye exam ive ever had and ive been wearing glasses for 25 years! The only negative thing i could even begin to say was the dr (and keep in mind there is only 1) was running about 30-40 behind. But that happens at most medical offices especially when you only have one dr. Who actually sees and treats the patients. Plus she was so nice, informative and thorough!

Great place but when your website says two weeks for your prescription to come in and then the office tells you three weeks and then you call and they tell you four weeks and really can’t give a idea as to when you new glasses will be in is ridiculous probably be my last time with them, you don’t just tell people what they want to hear just to make the sale

In my life, I have never ever had such a thorough exam, I was blown away!.Multiple approaches, with simple techniques, with hands, with many lenses, measurements with many-many machines and the doctors own eyes where I was not rushed, to get an understanding of what my eyes actually needed from all these methods,I also had a scratch in my eye that was causing me pain, and I was given a full examination of that eye, explanation and an approach for treatment of that too. .If I had questions, I was given explanation and options from the whole team.Everybody had (time) for me and actually cared about my situation.I think that this might be my new home,Thank You!

I had used my insurance benefit for new glasses but needed contacts also. Melissa and Michele were both great in getting me pricing options and even an additional trial pair when there was concern the contact wouldnt make it before my trip. The entire team was awesome to work with and very helpful.

I had the most in-depth Eye Exam I ever experienced!! The Dr. was Top Notch very friendly and Knowledgeable. Brittney at the front desk was so helpful and kind, even though her Computer was giving her fits lol. Justin also was a great help and made me feel relaxed with his up beat Vibe. Over all great experience at the Richmond Indiana Location!!

Thorough and well done eye exam

This is by far one of the best eye centers I’ve ever been to! The staff is extremely friendly, very accommodating as I had to change my appt right before the holidays, was changed without any issues at all! The Dr. took her time to ensure that my RX was perfect! This will be my eye Dr. for life!

Absolutely fabulous to be able to see again. Melissa is excellent and very knowledgeable in helping with the world of insurance as well as helping with picking out glasses, etc. The doctor is awesome and very good as well! I used to be nervous to go to the eye doctor but she gives you ease of the process!

Just want to give a quick shoutout to Tanner and Brittney. Miles above the staff that they replaced. I have been a patient there for many years because they were, at one time, the only provider in town that accepted both of my eye insurances. My insurances have changed, and I have thought about going elsewhere. I gave them another shot tonight. And although I had mentally prepared myself for a dreadful appointment and feeling like I wasn’t important to the old birds behind the counter, I am happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised! (My opinions only reflect that of the front office staff. The doctor has always been a favorite of mine) Excellent teamwork coupled with friendly and knowledgeable staff, well done ladies :)

I took my son for his annual check up. We had a little longer wait but it was worth it. His visit was thorough and everyone was so friendly. Definitely will go back

1 minute late for my appointment and told that I would have to reschedule i am out of money cuz i had to call off work and feel very misled they they say they are friendly and family owned they are a joke. I do not recommend them for anyone who has a job.

They also have a great selection of frames to choose from! I was in and out within an hour, frame picking included. I couldn’t have imagined a better overall experience!

Wow! Dr Tavels is great at the Richmond location. I had a wonderful experience there with all of the staff and especially with the Dr she really knows her business and took great care of me. I would recommend everyone in Richmond IN. to use this locationWhen I picked up my glasses and tried them on I felt like crying from joy because for the first time in 2 years I could actually see clearly even the colors of everything were clear and bright. Most in depth thorough eye exam I’ve had in my life and I’ve needed glasses/contacts for 35 years! She really tries to get the prescription beyond perfect.

The patients were great, but unfortunately poor management made it an unbearable work environment. Employees as well as many patients were treated very disrespectfully.

I have been to them 2 different times and both times I have had the same eye doctor and I love her to death. Everyone in there is really sweet .

I have been informed that my promised date of arrival of my eye glasses to the Richmond location will be on Thursday September 7th. I called this morning to check if they had arrived and Melissa informed me that they would not be receiving a shipment today. When I asked if my glasses would arrive on Thursday as promised, she stated that they are not in control of the lab and things do happen. So to summarize, I am still waiting on my glasses to arrive and I am on a strict time frame because of my job. I will not be in town after the coming Saturday of this week and if my glasses do not arrive as they have promised, then they will have cost me money and time wasted. I am hoping that they will make this right and have my glasses in on time as promised. If not, they may have lost a patient and a good review of the practice to others.I have spoken with Monica in Customer Service and she informed me to check today with the location in Richmond, and I have, and the above was their response.

Always friendly! But, was disappointed to find out Dr. Tavel is not a real person there. Did not know it was a franchise until I mentioned Dr. Tavel being so friendly today to my husband. Whoops! However, wonderful doctors work there!

Dont ever use it! Walmart is more reliable! I got my first pair of glasses in two weeks, but the prescription is not correct, frame fell apart in 3 days. I was told, i will be able to get a new pair of glasses with new prescription. However, this pair NEVER CAME. I called every week, they told me few more days. SIX WEEKS later, I am still WAITING! And my contacts ran out. I asked for temporary fix (a pair of contact) while WAITING for the glasses. Store manager asked me to get a contact fitting, which cost $60, they will split the cost 30$ with me, and promised the glasses will be arrived on Saturday. I checked, still no. Then promised will be arrived on Tuesday. I went to the store, still not there! After Seven Weeks, anyone still believe in its coming? I NEED MY GLASSES! I asked for full refund, and get my glasses somewhere else. On Thursday, they called and said the glasses is arrived, with my OLD FRAME. After 7 weeks of waiting. They dare to give me the wrong pair of glasses . I asked for full refund. They asked me to pay FULL 60$ for the contact fitting instead of 30$ they promised.After more then SEVEN weeks of waiting. I got nothing.I trusted in your business, but after SEVEN weeks of waiting, you have the wrong pair of glasses for me. You wasted my time and effort.I would NOT recommend it to anyone. Unless you wanted to wait forever for a wrong pair of glasses.This is my first time writing a review. I hope I will get my refund like they promised. I will be checking.

Took a prescription in to have contacts made. The glasses I had made originally from different place also did the vision test. I took my script to Tavel because of insurance reasons to have contacts made. The contacts will not work at all. Not even close. The lady at Tavel said well you brought me a script nothing we can do till you see your other dr to verify that script. I explained to her that dr is no longer on my plan that your dr is more than willing to see your dr to verify script and get the contacts I need. Nope u have to see your old dr I can’t help you with what you bought. Sounds like won’t help. Not a problem because I have a feeling I can turn a few of your patients to get my $180 worth. Very curteous and professional staff. They made my daughter feel comfortable during her exam. The Doctor is extremely knowledgeable and informative. I went to my appt thursday at 4 and didnt get in until 530! I ordered two pairs of glasses. One came in and I was told over the phone I could pay half of the remaining balance. That would have been $25 and I brought $30. After getting off work early and driving to the other side of town, I was informed that I can not do that. I was late picking my kids up from school. I was told my glasses would be in tomorrow (wednesday), well as I looked at their office hours tonight I saw they are closed tomorrow! So to say the least I am furious. I am having constant headaches needing my new glasses. And they have lied to me twice.

Although the staff and doctor at this location are trying the hardest (you can tell) I have came back time and time again and had to sit for an hour+ (I’m not complaining about the employees) I’m complaining about the companys choice of appointment times I have never not had to wait at least 30 mins and I feel that my time is wasted every single appointment.
