We (Top Gun Painting & Power Washing) worked very closely with Spectrum Paint this past year because of a city school project we were working on. Their staff was so pleasant to work with. Even with our nation wide paint shortage, Steve would always make sure we had enough per job! Dwane is usually the first to great me at the door with a smile and friendly hello. When I was ready to head out the door, Dwane would always make sure I had plenty of help out to my car with my supplies. Thank you team Spectrum! See you all soon with our next big project!
I called Spectrum Paint with lots of questions about color of paint and materials Id need to paint a small dining room myself. Phillip answered the call with such a helpful willingness to help. AND it felt authentic, as if he wanted to make sure I had all the information I needed to be successful in this home project. When I arrived at this location on Broad Street, I started looking for the possible colors and was able to lightly eaves drop of the interactions going on at the counter. Such kindness and happiness between the contractors and the paint professionals behind the counter! Greeting each other in a way that was joyous and friendly.... in a real way! I went back to Spectrum this morning to get the paint.... and the same atmosphere existed from other people working there. Wow... Kindness and expertise and care go along way in my book. I talked to the manager about my experience because it almost made me cry. I give the highest recommendation to this company for knowledge and superb customer service!

Edited to respond to the owners comment:6/2/21 Making multiple trips to a store to satisfy what should be accomplished on a single trip is never satisfactory. The regional manager was informed during our conversation that his efforts would be documented in a an unsatisfactory review. Simple returns should be handled in a more customer service friendly manner.Matching a paint color is their speciality. They can take a small chip and create a perfect match. The paint is the best and gives good coverage.Be careful about buying ANYTHING that you need to return or is on sale. The return policy is AWFUL. If you purchased with a credit card, you must have the card and the receipt to get your money back. I did not have the card. I had to return for a refund under $10. When I returned the managers customer service was terrible. He wanted to skip over me to help other customers who were making purchases. Reported his poor customer service to the District Manager (DM)Purchased an item on sale. Original price $15.99; sale price $3.99. Charged $15.99. Had to return to get the sale price. Returned again when the item did not work. Turned away again, because the item was opened. No manager was on duty to inspect the item. Got a refund only after contacting the DM and returning to the store. Thankfully, had his number from my first poor customer service experience. The employees did not have the DMs number.
Service is terrific and the store is well supplied with everything I need.
Where I always go to get my good paint. Top notch folks.
**Edited from one star to four stars because spectrum immediately reached out and assured me that management would address the issue of employees not offering masks to customers who walk in without them. I hope that asking those customers to leave when they refuse a mask is part of the protocol too, but Im happy to know spectrum cared about my experience and they are addressing the issues.I usually love spectrum but when I visited today, several customers entered without masks and none of the spectrum employees said anything! Only another customer and I pointed out the signs to them about the masks. In one instance, I spoke up and the other customer became very defensive and condescending and even refused to put on a provided mask. I understand spectrum is in a tough position but out of respect for the state mandate and for all your other customers who are complying with the mandate, Id expect employees to ask patrons without masks to leave and to serve those patrons when they return and are following the rules by wearing a mask. Total bummer that I can no longer safely shop at spectrum during the pandemic.

I cant believe they put a gallon of paint on top of a roll of tape in an order. They broke the edge of the tape all the way through, how is anyone supposed to tape a line with a broken Edge. They swapped it out no question. Seems like some of the new faces there never painted nor bagged groceries in there life.

I think their paint covers much better than some of the other big box retailers. Their onsite designer has been very helpful in the past, but their hours could be better.
