This was my first time visiting Sweet Spot, I must say it definitely fulfills its name. My friend and I are just visiting for the night on our way to DC in the morning and I have been craving sweets. I got a slice of key lime pie (they sell cake by the slice from another local business), an Americano and a scoop of the Maple Nut ice cream. The pie will have to wait until tomorrow but the ice cream and americano were amazing. The selection of ice cream flavors, both dairy and non-dairy was extensive! It was hard to choose just one, I did not regret my choice though. I will be back for sure the next time I make my way to the East Coast.Also, the customer service was fantastic! I didn’t get the young man’s name unfortunately, however he was so nice! Seems like we got there just in time because as we were leaving the place became busy.Thank you for a great food experience. My friends and I were looking for a good dessert spot before he headed back to the hotel, and stumbled across this spot, and Im really glad we did! We came on a Saturday night, and it was decently packed, but aside from that the line was not terribly long and we were able to order in a reasonable amount of time! They have a large menu of flavors, but only a certain amount them are available depending on the day.The actual ice cream and service was great as well! Although the server did not know how most of the flavors tasted (not her fault necessarily), she was very accommodating and friendly. When I ordered, I ended up getting a mini cookie dough ice cream. Although mini may have been the smallest size, they pack the cup very well, so no complaints on that. The ice cream was also very creamy and flavorful! It was very easy to eat, and actually surprised me on how high quality the ice cream was.Overall, Id certainly come back, as I have no complaints and only good words for this spot!

Kept passing by this place some time ago, but it wasn’t open yet. Finally was able to try it the other day. The inside looks simple yet aesthetic with greenery covering one of the walls.As for the ice cream, there were plenty of flavors to choose from. Some of them were unique such as guava cheesecake and Smurf— which is blue raspberry with mini marshmallows. Now that may sound odd but it tasted surprisingly good.The ice cream itself had a nice, creamy consistency and reminded me of Cold Stone in Short Pump. It’s not local though. I recommend this place if you are in the area and are in the mood for ice cream.

Best Ice Cream store I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been all over the world. Nothing tops Sweet Spot, so many flavors and variety. They got cakes, cookies, ice cream, and more. Not sure why Sweet Spot isn’t worldwide by now :) but they are definitely on their way.

Tons of different ice creams and toppings to choose from!Their menu board inside has stickers to show which things theyre out of so you dont have to wonder or ask, I thought that was a pretty good idea.My girlfriend got the peach ice cream and it had nice little chunks of peaches and was very flavorful. Definitely a place Ill be going again!

Quaint little shop downtown. Butterfinger bomb ice cream was... the bomb! And they had a coffee bar with espresso options. Not much seating but we were taking ours to go anyway!

Really nice place, ice cream pints handy to the left when you walk in and a whole display of ice cream where you can also order drinks. The employees were helpful and sweet. I didnt know this was here and Im looking forward to future visits!

Although I love the ice cream and the other treats in this shop the customer service could be a little bit better from those serving. I have been here twice and it seems as though the customer is a problem when asking about certain flavors, etc. Also the feeling of welcome didnt seem to be important to the servers when I walked in. I plan return to this spot soon, but hopefully the customer service is better.

I didn’t like the flavor I got, but I blame no one but myself lol. Interior was very cute and modern, place looked very clean as well!

Love supporting Black owned businesses. The store is very cute, good ice cream, very busy. The reason for the 3 stars instead of 5 is because of an unpleasant experience I had with one of the employees. The cone menu is an area that could definitely use some improvements. Find a way to add it to the regular menu on the wall or make an additional chalk board for the cones with the flavors clearly written .

Really delicious ice cream and a very helpful staff is always a win-win-win!!! Theres so much variety here which makes it the perfect opportunity to visit on a Sunday afternoon or making a late night stop to satisfy that beautiful sweet tooth! So many fun yummy flavors of ice cream and cones I havent come across before! We stopped in for the first time tonight. We are not even from the area but could tell this is a fun area to eat and walk it off! Sweet spot was a hit for us!

The ice cream is very BASIC it’s nothing to rave about. I also got charge $5.00 for a small sugar cone with ONE scoop of ice cream after being told it was only $1.00. I would not recommend don’t waste your money

OverchargedI asked if they can split a small portion for my two toddlers, the server said yes. She gave them the ice cream.When it was time to pay, they charged me the full portion for both of them. I asked why, she said she couldnt split it since I asked for cones instead of cups. She didnt mention that at any point during the ordering process.The service was flippant, but everyone can have a bad day.All in all, we paid over $20 for a two scoop sundae, and what was supposed to be a small. I now realize weve been overcharged. Ive reached out to the owners to get a refund, lets see what happens.

Just discovered this place today. Very impressed with the assortment of deserts they have and the assortmentof ice cream flavors. Everyone liked their ice cream, plus they have different flavors of waffle cones! This may be our new go-to dessert place in Downtown Richmond!

The dessert is good but the fact that you all don’t answer the phone is bad business. You all are located in a spot with horrible parking and should offer curbside pickup.

Popped in on a whim and I was in love.The shop is immaculately clean with a lovely staff in over 20 flavors of ice cream and sorbet. Today I chose the triple mint with a scoop of special praline! Wow, just wow. My stomach is VERY sensitive when it comes to lactose. With expressing this I was then presented with a plethora of non diary ice flavors. Man oh man, I ate the whole carton of Oreo ice cream... and guess what... my stomach was just as happy as me! I Will definitely be returning.

The mediocre ice cream does not make up for the servers poor attitude. If I want passive-aggressive entitlement, Ill call my mother. Avoid it, unless youre into that kind of stuff.

This place gets a three star rating only on the selection, flavors and ingredients of the ice cream. Not the best, but tasty enough to subside your sugar craving.I give a fair rating and I struggled on that last star. My problem was the staff. They weren’t organized at all. There were 16 people (adults + kids) in line waiting to get served with only two workers taking orders and the other two cleaning a space smaller than my bathroom for almost 20 minutes. We waited a decent amount of time while we watched the two workers struggle to keep up and the other two sweep and wipe down the same 6x6 (being serious. It’s a tight spot) space for more than 20 minutes. With the amount of people in line and the other two workers struggling, they should have stopped cleaning and helped. That guy literally swept that tight space for more than 20 minutes while customers in line were getting frustrated. Once it was my turn, I asked for a coffee with my ice cream and the poor girl acted like I was speaking a different language. She didn’t know if they were serving coffee or not. She asked another employee and they didn’t know. After about 3 minutes of confusion on weather to pour me some coffee or not, I said forget it. During all of the ordering and all the cleaning, one of the cleaners kept rudely inserted herself in personal spaces to clean the glass or floor etc. without saying excuse me.The flavors are good and the place is neat and clean, but my first experience was not good at all. I will go back a couple more times and possibly update my review. Until then, this is all I got.

Yall please do not waste your time here . there is 32 flavors in the shop but only 5 flavors sell, the menu and its prices is jacked up and makes no logic sense. I use to work here and I ended up leaving the job because of a stressful situation Im in currently but no one cared for me. I tried to explain to the owner but had the phone hung up on me deliberately two days before prior of not getting a response today all because she cant keep nobody so in my eyes I dont see this place in business but for so long. I have yet to receive my last check and this people better be lucky I dont send a lawsuit out on em but Im a let god and mother nature handle the situation. This is why I do not support black business owners because of the lack of hospitality and the amount of disrespect you gotta take is sad in itself especially in Richmond. In other cities, I never got treated like this at all. I have ate at better ice cream places in which are located in Carytown and Short pump so yall can thank me later. I wont ever walk in this place ever again in my life!!!! this place aint it. Just to let the owner know in these comments basically trying to be nice, you owe me 201 dollars that I clearly worked hard for during my time here so lets make that very clear. As Im writing this review, hes sitting on the couch. Hes as happy as a clam. They did give my husband a free scoop of ice cream for our troubles.However, Im still pretty miffed, so it will probably be a little while before I go back.I will go back though. Their ice cream is amazing.But I will be telling all my friends that they have someone who works there who is terrible at customer service.Bottom line: The majority of the time, I have great service.
