My car is currently in their garage being worked on a second time, hopefully I don’t have to come back. Also I got a loaner car from them. They gave it to me dirty. Not vacuumed, not even wiped down and didn’t clean the back seat out which had a customers clothing tags and a shoe hanger just laying everywhere. Also found this in the car door.. didn’t clean this car at all from the previous customer I see..

Took my car in for a noise that got louder at higher speeds. They claimed it was bad bearings in a tire. It was to take 4 hours so they offered a loaner car. 3 days later and a $850 bill I got my car back but alas the noise still was there. Ended up taking my car to another repair shop and the problem was solved in 1.5hrs at half the cost. The problem was a bad hub in a different tire. So if you want people who do not know what they are doing this is the place for you. Never will I take my car to this place again nor will I buy my next car from them.

The financing people are also great unlike other financing team at other car dealerships who suck! I ended up buying my new vehicle here, but gotta give it to all the Bob Johnson locations (went to a few locations) and all locations were wonderful experience. Horrible !!! If I can put no stars I would !!! I purchase my vehicle from marketplace Mazda back in 2019 it’s 2017 Mazda 6 . At midnight on august 9th my car stalled out in West Henrietta road . I called roadside assistance to bring my car in . Keith in service stated that they don’t know what wrong with my car and had to bring in a expert Mazda mechanic to see what wrong . On August 11th, I had to go out to Bob Johnson Mazda dealership to gather a couple of things out my car for father’s funeral . I spoke to Keith and the mechanic that was working on my car they stated to me that the sensor broke in my engine and they will replace it and the price would be three hundred dollars . I told keith that’s fine you can proceed to work on my car My father funeral was on 8/11/2021 and I told Keith I will come and pick up the car tomorrow on 8/12/2021 and I told Keith I will come and pick up the car tomorrow on 8/12/202. In the morning, I called Bob Johnson Mazda to talk to Keith and he stated that they replace the sensor in the engine and while the car was on the vehicle made a Big Bang and shut off. While they were investigating the Big Bang, they located a hole in the bottom block on the engine . Keith stated I need a whole new engine and the repair will cost seven thousand dollars plus . Horrible worst customer service !!! They really broke my car
Bought a car from Marketplace Mazda many years back. I’m have to agree with a lot of complains I read. They are very dishonest about the price. They will give you a price and when it comes to signing the paperwork, they give you a different price and will make some excuse to why it’s so much more.
Sara Ingersoll was our sales person when we walked into the door. Right away, I knew this was a good match. She helped us find the right used car for us and was so patient with our current situation. She treated us so kindly and professionally but was not pushy or forcing us to make a decision quickly. Never buy a used car here after a year rust explode everywhere and dealer wont do nothing about it, I went to Facebook and posted on there page and the dealer erased my post and pictures. Warranty WONT COVER MUCH I brought my suv because A/C stop working and they charge me almost $500 just for the diagnosis

Alright dealer, I had just an okay experience overall when I was shopping there. I came in 2 times to try a couple different Mazda 3s out, ended up really liking one but then they sold it without talking to me after I told them I would buy it if they replaced the smacked bumper they tried to hide. Not a huge deal but a bit disappointing.They were very efficient about letting you take test drives, they basically hand you the keys and say have at it which was cool. Felt like my salesmen Scott wasnt really taking me seriously as a buyer because I was only interested in used cars, but that could just be me misreading the situation.I ended up going to Ide VW on a Tuesday and left with my ideal car that Friday. Had a better experience there overall but it was a lot more strict (paperwork before test drives and such).
Wonderful experience! We had difficulty with our key and were dreading going in for service as we had difficulty in the past with the previous owners. It was a welcome surprise! Everyone friendly, knowledgeable and glad to assist. We were in and out quickly with problem solved. Highly recommend.

I have been a customer of this MAZDA location since 2012 and had seen a steady decline in the service department over the years and was seriously considering going to another dealership because my last visit (Oct 2020) the customer service was downright surly. I hit a pothole on 1/7/21, busted a shock absorber and thought Id give them one more try. Heather and Scott at the front desk had me come in right away. Their demeanor was friendly, professional and energetic - thankful for my patronage. Literally a 180 degree change. They got me a loaner. It was repaired the next day. My confidence has been restored and I heartily recommend their service department!!!

I took my Mazda in because the tire pressure light was lit up on my dashboard. Tim, an associate at Mazda explained in detail what the issues were and suggested what needed to be fixed first. It wasn’t a long list but enough to keep coming back...lol I appreciated the woman who assisted me she was happy and friendly didn’t catch her name. Overall I wasn’t charged for the sensor light it was an easy fix and I don’t feel pressured coming back to get my issues fixed. Only flaw wish they had some healthy snacks while you wait like some nuts or fruit. Overall I loved their customer service especially during the pandemic. I will definitely return for repairs in the future. Two thumbs and a snap...

From beginning to end the process of buying my new Mazda was wonderful. The staff was kind and knowledgeable and made the whole experience very enjoyable.
I brought my CX-5 that has been experiencing intermittent acceleration and braking while using the radar cruise control to be serviced. We were told over the phone that no problem was detected and asked to pick up the car. When I arrived, I asked for further clarification of what was done. I was immediately told to pay first before any questions would be answered. I paid the 53 dollars requested. The service member, Jim, then proceeded to remove some sheets of paper from the packet given to me and read verbatim what was on them. When I asked clarifying questions such as Was the car tested on the highway to reproduce the problem he responded with Our tests didnt detect a problem. It was clear the car was never driven. He also said all my problems were explained by the sheets attached to my receipt. When I stated that the issue occurred in weather conditions not found described in the attached sheets and only began to happen a year ago, he responded defensively, stating that I should have come earlier. Jim also read parts of the information regarding the lane departure system which has not been malfunctioning and was not our problem. I wanted further tests done, but it was clear from Jim’s body language and the fact that I had to pay before finding out any information, that the service center felt the issue was solved. This will be my final interaction with this service center.

I recently bought a used Mazda CX5 from Mohamed and Cameron and the entire process with the two of them was very pleasant. I searched Mazda dealerships in Rochester, NY and this Buffalo site and was overwhelmed with the positive response I received from Northtown Mazda. These two sales reps were very polite, they listened to my questions and had helpful answers to all of them. They also were willing to negotiate with me regarding the swap of my previous car with the 2018 Mazda. If you are in the market for a new or used Mazda, the car sells itself with the outstanding reliability reports from Consumer Reports. I would also add there were other Mazdas at Northtown Mazda which I would have attempted to purchase as the selection at this site has so many good cars to choose from. I trade in cars in 2 to 3 years and I will come back to trade with this dealership often.
Exceptional quality and worth the drive. Got my used SUV from them in October. Unfortunately I got into an accident and lost my vehicle to it. Went back in August and now have another SUV. Dealt with George, he was willing to look for a solution right away. They dont turn you away because your credit is poor. They look for what is best for you with your interests in mind. They have a wide range of knowledge and selection to choose from. Will say I will come back when I need another vehicle again. No ifs, ands, or buts. Definitely my first Choice.
Every since it was changed to Mazda from Suzuki, the service changed. Prices higher& customer service in servicing department is not too friendly. I had a hole in my radiator & it needed to be replaced. They quoted me $800. I purchased a used one from Webster for $100 & my local garage put in for $125. Saved 575! My valve cover gaskets were leaking, after fixing, $600 later, i still see small amounts of oil under my SUV @ times. We really miss Dan who was the 1st face you seen when you walked into garage. Always cheerful, friendly & willing to help& offer best low cost service. To top it off! After replacing valve cover gaskets, somehow the oil dip stick got broken & repaired with tape! Surprise! Oops I guess that info was not told to me!

I purchased a certified used cx-5 from George Leach and was very happy with his service. He is the only reason I gave the company two stars. The car came with new front brakes which, after 30,000 miles are still in decent shape. A little over a year ago I had to have the rear brakes done. By this past January the rear brakes were shot, pads were at 3mm and making noise, after less than 10 months and 10,000 miles. I was unhappy that they wore out so quickly and was told I had some life in them. I left dissatisfied, to say the least. Now the brakes make noise constantly so I set up an appointment after emailing George about the situation. I was told I would be taken care of. I took the car in today and was told they would replace the pads but I had to pay for everything else. I told them no, that I wanted them to cover everything, having never had any brakes last less than 35,000 miles. At that point the service guy tried to blame it on me for not driving enough, therefore rust was building up on the rotors. I have two issues with that- I was driving nearly 14,000 miles a year, until everything shut down, and the front brakes have held up well. I see no way the rear brakes could be done in 9,000 miles unless they are junk or the service department missed some other issue with the brakes. After the manager was consulted, they offered to split the cost with me 50/50, to which I said no. I feel the service department has really let George down as I will never set foot in the dealership again.
The dealer had no idea what he was talking about, he started trying to work with another client before I was done talking to him, they tried to upsell me on a bunch of extra stuff that I didnt need, and the detail cleaning they did on the car before I picked it up was horrible.

Ive had Honda, Ford, Chevy, Jeep and a bunch of other cars and until Mazda, the service department has always been less than pleasant. Not at Mazda, these people are genuinely nice and take good care of you and your car.
Im not sure who I dealt with the couple times I was there (it was the same person) but they laughed in my face a couple times and was completely unprofessional. I will never buy a car from there. Also, the one time I called the service department the guy who answered couldnt care less if I got my car fixed and refused to look at anything unless it was completely broken. Awful service. Awful people. Awful place. Go next door to Dorschel.

To be clear: My review is of the dealership, not of Mazda. I love my new Mazda. When I went into the sale room the sticker price on the car was 19,000 The selling price somehow jumped up to $24,483 and I ended up paying $27409.14- Thats 8,400 more than the price on the car. You always hear about jumps up from the sticker price, but be very careful about this! I kept trying to question it while signing, and the guy I was working with kept dodging until he got my final signature, and only then would he answer me. My first attempt at making an appointment was for the body shop. I made an appointment online, and thought I was all set. I received an email that even though the system allowed me to make the appointment they could not do a Saturday. I replied asking if I could drop my car off before 8am, like at 7:30. They replied that I can call to make an appointment- not answering the question of if I could drop if off before 8am. The point of this review: BUY MAZDA! Just go to another dealership.

My family and I stopped in to Marketplace Mazda to take a look at the new Mazda 3s. We were interested in possibly trading in the Mazda 3 we already had for a newer model. Our salesman, Gary, was very knowledgeable of their product and helped us find a car that had the features we were looking for and could afford. Altogether, we are loving our new car. We get great gas mileage and my wife loves the safety features! I would recommend purchasing a Mazda to anyone.
I bought a preowned 2017 Equinox from this dealer with 19,000 miles on it. I was led to believe by the salesman that the vehicle would have been serviced and detailed prior to picking it up. I live 45 minutes from the dealer. After checking out the vehicle at home it was discovered that three tires had 37lbs of air and the other one had 30lbs of air. The oil was at 20% and needed to be changed. The dealership never checked anything on this vehicle. Nothing like buying a car from the dealer and having to work on it when you get it home. The door jams were filthy. The only thing that was done was the vehicle was washed. Thats it!! No service and no detailing. Now I am wondering if the brakes are good? Im sure they didnt check them. I wrote an email to the dealership several weeks ago and they never even responded. Be aware!!

This was my first ever new car purchase. I bought a used Suzuki from another dealer and used Marketplace to service. Loved the service I received and the efficiency of the team. Wanted a test drive. Hours listed on the door are not correct. Pointed it out to the salesmen and they refused to change it. They called my girlfriend a loon loud enough for her to hear. They lost two definite sales in one interaction.
I purchased a used 2011 jeep liberty limited (beautiful) with 32 k miles and have been very satisfied so far. Working with Bryan and Anthony was very straightforward and they Made the buying and financing process very easy. Car was delivered as promised, and the whole process went very smooth. Seemed like stand up guys at first. We agreed to a price, but when I went to pick up the car, the price had changed, one of the rebates was gone, the salesman I worked with spoke to me like I was “mistaken”, and may have just “been tired”. The whole experience was comical at best. I got mad at them for being dishonest, some guy who wouldn’t identify himself basically told me to take the deal or take a hike, so I did. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to go to a dealer and offer them more money for a car than it’s actually listed for.They obviously knew something wasn’t going to fly, because the car hadn’t even been undercoated. I should have walked right then and there.

November, 2013, I purchased a 2014 Mazda 3 from Marketplace Mazda. I was greeted at the door by George, who was courteous and friendly. He took the time to get to know me as well as my needs in regards to an automobile. He respected my budget, as he did not try and put me into a vehicle that I could not afford. In fact, George matched me up with a vehicle perfect for me; black, speedy, full of little luxuries and technologies. Marketplace Mazda’s staff was welcoming as they all introduced themselves and celebrated my new car. I am in love with my new Mazda 3. Just today, I dropped it off at Marketplace Mazda, so they could add a sunroof and heated seats. And though they were accommodating by providing a temporary car to drive, I am already missing my Mazda. Working with this dealership was a positive and seamless experience. Not only would I recommend Marketplace Mazda to others, but I would return in the future for my next car-buying experience.
Just purchased a Mazda3 for my daughter through Shawn with Marketplace Mazda. This was the most pleasant buying experience of my lifetime. Shawn provided a quick quote online, and when we went in to close the deal the next day, no surprises or unexpected additional costs. I recently leased a new Mazda CX5 2019 at this dealership. My representative was Shawn Bishop. I am a new car owner. I did a lot of research about cars and leasing, and spoke to many dealers over phone. I felt many dealers were using a lower price over phone as a bait to get me to the dealership. Others quoted higher prices. Reading some of the reviews online about tactics used by some dealers, I felt more anxious.Among the many dealers I spoke to, Shawn was the only one I felt I could trust. We could negotiate a deal I was happy with. He was honest, friendly, and patient. He did all the paperwork for me. Now, I have my new Mazda cx5. This is the second car I have purchased from Marketplace, the people there are great to work with. They make the car buying experience truly pleasurable. I have gone elsewhere before, but never treated as welcome as Joe, Anthony and George made me feel. Mike and Dan in service are friendly, fast and efficient and cant do enough to make everything perfect. This is the only place I will ever go to buy or service a car!

The power steering light on my Mazda CX-5 came on and I made a reservation online to bring it in to the Marketplace Mazda service center. The online price of the power steering diagnostic was listed as $49.99, this price was listed in my service appointment confirmation, but after the work was completed I noticed that I had been charged $105. I brought this up with my service advisor, Scott Proctor, who was unable to resolve the issue, and then contacted the service supervisor, Phill Walter, who never responded. Its dealership service centers like these that keep the stereotype alive--finding ways to overcharge the customer. Time to find a new service center!

Bought a 2018 Mazda3 from Marketplace Mazda two weeks ago and I still cant believe how easy it was. Shawn Bishop, with the help of Tiger Chapman, did everything to make the process totally hassle-free. Shawn also gave me a great end-of-year deal and assures me getting service will be equally hassle-free. Reading my own words, it sounds like hype, but this experience buying a car was as easy as buying a new computer or a refrigerator.Reading the few negative reviews here, it looks to me like some customers dont do enough homework before buying. There are so many options available today that the price range can be huge. Research online first, know exactly what you want, and know the average selling price for that exact car. I looked at dealerships all the way from Buffalo to east of Syracuse and Shawn gave me the very best price for the car I wanted.
Tony and George did a phenomenal job of getting my trade appraised, applied, and financing for my beautiful 2015 Mazda CX-5. I went in at 10am on a Wednesday and drove home with the new car Thursday morning at 10am. They were very good with their communication, and worked for me to get into the vehicle I wanted for a price I could afford. I highly recommend this dealership!
I dont buy cars often, preferring to hold on to them until they die. So, I was dreading going to dealers again after 10 years with my previous car. Wasnt I pleasantly surprised to find that the people at Marketplace Mazda were super friendly and helpful without being at all pushy - even the negotiation was simple! Wow!! Bought a 2014 Mazda 6 earlier this year (June) right when they hit the lots. This was the second car Ive bought from this dealership. In all, it was a pretty positive experience. I have owned the car for not quite 6 months, and have just about 4500 miles on it. I have not had any problems with the vehicle, and would definitely refer my salesperson, George Leach for someone interested in a Mazda.
Just recently purchased a car from Shawn at Marketplace Mazda and it was awesome! Hes laid back and doesnt do the whole pushy salesman thing, which was a huge thing for me. Also talked to Joe during my purchase, another great guy. Glad I had these two to work with during my purchase. Everything was set and ready when I came in to sign the final paperwork.. Everything from meeting Shawn, to the test drive, to talking about pricing, and signing the final paperwork was super smooth and easy- especially compared to some peoples horror stories that Ive heard. Bill from Marketplace Mazda was helpful to us when buying our new Mazda5. The process was relatively quick and painless, and I feel that we were able to negotiate a good deal. There were a few things that he seemed uncertain about, but he was able to find the answers relatively quickly. When we pulled up to pickup the car, there was someone outside wiping it down, which was nice. I would go there again to get a new car.
The whole staff was warm and polite, but not pushy or in your face. George was great to work with and definitely made this the best car buying experience that I have ever had. there was a minor issue with the car when i took delivery, so had to bring it back to have their great service department replace a part. I live in Syracuse and wound up there for the better part of they day while they straightened everything out. They gave me a loaner and sent my friend and i out for lunch, on them, while we waited.I my friend liked them so much that he wound up following me back to Syracuse in a 2015 Miata that he leased that day!I would definitely recommend them; Ill be going back for my next Mazda 3.
I went into the dealership knowing what car I wanted already, so my goal for the visit was to give it a quick test drive and start the paperwork. The salesperson, George, was very helpful in making this as short a process as possible. They let me take it home that same day in order to make it on time to a party I was attending. Very helpful staff, and overall a good experience.
I just bought a CX-5 and love it and my experience with Marketplace Mazda. I did shop around and good deals elsewhere as well but Marketplace had the exact vehicle I was looking for. My salesman, Shawn Bishop, was outstanding and I felt at ease with him, even the finance guy was so nice and willing to work around me and not the other way around.If you are thinking about a new car, this is my second Mazda (My wife has a Mazda 3 and we love that as well), if you have not looked at Mazda, do at least take a serious look, you will be impressed! And when you do look at that Mazda, be sure to include marketplace in your mix... especially Shawn!

Went to Marketplace Mazda to look at a Chevy Cobalt listed on there used car sight. Was a hassle free Test drive, and purchase cause I all ready knew what I wanted to look at and purchase. Staff was courteous and helpful during 1st week after purchase; when I thought wipers on car were defective, come to find out owners manual did not be as specific on how to operate. They told me to come in and mechanic showed me with in 5 minutes how to operate. Thank You for the Experience.
