Got me in asap for oil change and NYS inspection. Choice of days, times, etc., very accommodating. Topping off windshield fluid and charging $3.50 for it seemed like a money grab to me, left me less than impressed.

Needed a tire plug on a Saturday afternoon, fast friendly and professional.

I went today on a recommendation from my boss for a simple tire valve issue/leak. I called, made a tentative appointment & showed up about 2 hours late and they were still ready for me. They immediately checked my issues, agreed thats what it was, fixed it right on site, added air into my tires and assured me I was good to go— no charge!!! I wish I had cash for a tip. I just want to commend them on being so honorable. It took less than 5 mins, but I could not have fixed the issue without them. So good to see people with awesome values still providing exceptional service. Will be back!

UPDATE: Incredible! My antique 1978 Cadillac needed an AC Compressor from Nebraska - first two were bad remans (shop did their quality checks) - then he sourced another one from across the country. I cant thank them enough for their patience, quality work, and follow-through. These guys at East Ave Auto are TOP NOTCH. Definitely recommend!! I am bringing donuts next time I am in town.I have had some ups and downs with timing and appointments, but they always come through with fair assessments of repairs and don’t do anything more than necessary. That’s awesome!Paul Marone, the owner, even delivered my car cause the repairs went into another day and I was heading out of town. Gotta give this place credit for standing up and doing the right thing.

The service was great and quick, and Tom kept me in the loop and was very clear about what needed to get fixed, which I appreciated.However, they switched out the license plate frame without telling me about it (I immediately took it off). I dont appreciate having my car become a billboard for the shop without my consent. It makes me wonder what else was done to my car without me knowing about it.

These are honest mechanics that you want working on your car. I take both my Mercedes and Acura here. I took my Acura in for a pulsing brakes (which I knew was likely warped rotors) and the mechanic told me that I didnt have to replace anything if I didnt want to, that it was more of a personal preference given the state of the rotors and pads at the time. I appreciate their honesty in giving me the option. You dont find honest auto repair businesses like this anymore, so Ill definitely keep taking my vehicles here.

UPDATE TO ORIGINAL POST: Paul, the owner, reached out to me with an apology, and repeated that he didnt believe replacing the one part would solve the check engine light issue.Experience matters. He was correct. The check engine light was indicating the need for more than one repair, and Ill end up paying about the same amount as was initially estimated by Paul. Although I prefer estimates to include specific information, the East End Auto estimate was fair. I appreciate the sincerity of the follow up calls, and the owners ability to accurately predict a complicated repair job.

I buy online and they take good care of me

Got a tow from this company after my girlfriend was sent to the hospital following a crash. The tow company told me I had to pay out of pocket right then and there if I wanted to tow it anywhere except for their own shop. I told them I would use another tow company in that case and the cops told me I wasnt allowed. Completely ridiculous and unprofessional especially considering the circumstances. I would not recommend getting any work done from these guys and I would especially steer clear from ever using their tow services.

Walked in this morning due to a leak in two of my tires. I didnt have an appointment, they took me and had both tires fixed in under an hour and a half. Everyone was super friendly and I am so thankful that they were able to help. I would highly recommend to anyone, thank you again!

Would highly recommend. These guys got me in last minute when I was having problems with my radiator (turns out it was caused by a different mechanic) - didnt jerk me around and got the job done quick. Will be returning for future maintenance. Also the customer service is top notch - everyone from the tow truck driver to the mechanic, very friendly!

Charged me $280 for a 1.6 mile tow and 2 days of storage even though my car was there about 15 hours total. Not even a full day. Their card machine was down as well so I had to go to use cash. Rip off.

Had a flat tire and happen to work across the street... the guys in my office highly recommended this place and I completely understand why. I walked over without any appointment, told them my issue and they said no problem, we can def take care of you. Turned out they dont make the model tire I have on my car anymore, so both back tires needed to be replaced. He (Sonny) found 2 of the model tires that I needed for the price of what one of my old tires would have costed me. I mentioned the battery in my key-fab had died and hed have to open the door manually... well, he replaced the battery on that for me as well. Total time from drop off to pick up was under 2 hours. HIGHLY recommend, he (Sonny) was very polite and I was treated fantastically. Much appreciated.

Worst experience ever! My grandfathers vehicle was involved in accident and they towed it away without telling him to gather his things. Driver said he could go to place and get anything he wanted out of vehicle. He gets to the shop same day as accident and they wont let him access vehicle to get his handicap pass until bill is paid. They very well know insurance pays for all this and doesn’t happen within the same day of which the accident occurred and he needed his pass. Why should he come out of pocket just to get his handicap sticker? This is exploitation at its finest. Not informing someone of this policy beforehand and taking vehicle without authorization without offering to get stuff out of vehicle. Then telling someone bill must be paid in full before you can even get anything out of or access vehicle. Denying an elderly man his handicap pass by holding his vehicle hostage? Bad business all around

Best auto shop ever! I always take my car here for everything. And they do 30 min NY State inspections, while you wait. Other places have made me drop my car off and come back a few hours later while they do an inspection. I highly recommend these guys!

Just moved to Rochester and had to have my car inspected as part of my move to New York State. Walked in off the street and they took care of me in no time. They also performed a brake service for a very fair and competitive price. I will be going there again!

Worst of the worst. Completely unethical company – do not trust these guys. They are dishonest sharks trying to make an extra buck wherever they can. They are the epitome of rip off mechanics and give other industry professionals a bad name. My mother was at home recovering from her surgery (she has cancer) and had just got home a few hours before I arrived. I was quickly stopping by to check in on her and there were no street parking spots available on her small side street, so I parked in their front lot during my quick visit. It was later at night – not during business hours. There were not any No Parking, Tow Zone, Private lot signage so I figured it was harmless. Not to mention, the employee closing up was standing right there when I parked. Well, sure enough when I came out my car was gone. They gladly towed it so they could charge me $120. (They also have a sign at their counter which says, Youll get charged an extra $5 for whining – I made sure to ask if they included that in the price because I was respectfully vocal.) I explained my situation relentlessly for 20 minutes – honestly, it wasnt about the money, it was about the principle. The guy didnt care a bit and defended his position every opportunity he had. Not to mention, it was the same guy who watched me park there. The one 20 feet away who could have said – Hey, Im gonna have to tow you if you park there or even, Sorry, this is a private lot. He said had I asked permission, he wouldnt of done it. Instead, he deferred to watch me walk away, call his truck and make some easy money. Disgraceful. If theyre not going to give me a break with my situation, its clear they dont care about people or good business practices. They clearly care about each dollar and cent they can squeeze out of their community and screwing families – rather than doing the right thing. If you like doing business with shops which enjoys ripping off well meaning people, you found your shop. I will tell everyone I know to never do business at East Avenue Auto – and its because of their integrity as a company.

Have only been here once. They did a job for $200-400 dollars less than other shops quoted, and had it done in less than 24 hours of me dropping it off (faster than they promised). The location is convenient, and the staff helpful and friendly.

Brought my car in to have a rattling noise from the exhaust system diagnosed, and went there because it is open on Saturdays. For some reason they decided to perform an oil change and charged me for it without asking me about it first. I will not be going back.

An extra star for humor here. My e-brake in my manual car wasnt working (at all, which is important later) and when I called Thursday I was told Friday worked great for them and theyd have it done same day. I was surprised at this, and could have brought it any day but hey.. sure why not. I dropped it off, took my $15 uber home and worked. Get a call at 4pm that they hadnt touched it, wanted to look at it tomorrow, and that it may not be done until Monday. Well thats a big hell no! So I get another uber in Friday rush hour traffic to find it waiting for me out front. How nice, right? I hop in the car - which was in neutral with the e-brake up. LOL thanks for the memory of you, guys.

East Ave Auto,I’m not one to review a business but this company went out of there way and they deserve to know it. A couple Friday’s ago my wife called me in a panic that her car wouldn’t start(Parked in a parking garage to make it worse) We were suppose to head out of town within the hour. I made one phone call to East Ave Auto at 5pm on a Friday and within 15 Mins Paul Marone was with my wife working on her car. He was able to jump start the car, but he believed her car needed to be seen at the shop to check the battery & alternator before we head out of town. He followed my wife over to his shop in case something was to happen on the way. By the time I was able to get to East Ave Auto Paul and his team had fixed my wife’s car and she was ready to head home. This type of service is something Paul and his team at East Ave Auto should be proud of. We have had our vehicles serviced at East Ave Auto for years and we will remain customers for life. Thanks again Paul!!

Ive been using the services provided by East Avenue Auto for around the past 10 years or so. All of my cars that Ive ever owned I have brought to them. Theyve done everything for me from oil changes, added new brakes, etc.

I have left my car for an oil change and come back at closing hours with no work done and have scheduled appointments twice only to show up and be told it wasn’t in the system and they couldn’t do the work. Very disappointed to not count on the local auto shop

I have been coming to East Avenue Auto ever since the 90s when I first moved into the area. I choose them as my auto shop way back because I heard about how great they are and that they are the best in time, which they are.

Customer service was genuine, service was quick.

One of my windshield wipers broke and there was no blade, so I pulled into East Ave Auto because it was pouring rain. He came out and measured what size blade I needed and I was in and out without 5 minutes (and it was cheap too!) Ironically, a few weeks later, my other blade broke and when I went back he recognized me and took care of me right away. Excellent customer service!

I always get ay car work done here as well as my State Inspection and everything is always taken care of and they do a great job for me. I would definitely recommend East Ave Auto to anyone that is looking for trustworthy guys to work on their cars.

They made my car worse after a check and tried to make me do the repair at their auto shop.My car was having some issues starting, but it drove fine after it had been started. I had actually been driving it almost daily to/from school. But as a pre-caution I DROVE the car to East Avenue Auto for a checkup for the starting problem and left it there in the morning. In the afternoon I received a call saying they needed1.5 hours of labor for further inspection and a potential additional $600-$800 for the repair after the further inspection. I said I wouldnt want to spend that much on an old car. Then they told me my car could not be started and cannot be driven any more. WHAT?! And they didnt even feel they did anything wrong and no sympathy. They still charged me the inspection fee. I said why should I be paying you for ruining my car? I drove it here in this morning and they said you can try starting it yourself. We couldnt start it. I went to try to start the car, and after a few tries it actually started and I drove it home. However, the car felt different (in much worse shape) when I was driving it home. I am not sure what they did to it. But the fact that the car actually started and this auto shop kept telling me it couldnt start really bugs me. And the fact that they charge you for making your car worse really didnt make sense.By the way, I called another auto shop for a quote of the price to repair, they are mostly in the range of $350-$500, instead of the $750-$950 East Avenue Auto quoted me.

Moral of the story, do not use East Ave Auto if you have a warranty you plan on using to cover the work. My Fiancé was the one to do most of the dealing with the shop and would give it a no stars. He took our car in to have the heating/cooling system fixed because it stopped working. They were kind enough to let us know the part we needed was expensive and they would look for a used part to keep the cost down. The real problem came when (after being in the shop since Thursday) we get a call Friday night that they were test driving it and they would let us know how it turned out. Heard nothing back from them and by Saturday afternoon we had to call the shop to find out our car was done. Told them we would be in Sunday then to pick it up (no ride to get there on Saturday). Go in Sunday, the gentleman working could not do anything in regards to our warranty, he didnt know how and we would have to come in Monday. We understood but were slightly frustrated at this point. Went in Monday after we both got out of work at 5pm and the gentleman who was able to do the warranty left the shop at 5pm even though they are open until 10pm. Today is Tuesday and my Fiancé is not at work but at the shop at 8:30 am, I get a text from him that we had to pay out of our pocket, and call the warranty co. ourselves, because the guy wouldnt even try to call!

East Avenue Auto truly goes out of their way for their customers, one morning I called because my passenger door wouldnt open, the manager came out to where I was and was able to fix the problem. He saved me so much time and money, it was amazing.

This shop failed my girlfriends inspection claiming she needed $800 worth of work (brake rotors). Took the vehicle to a reputable shop afterwards and they passed it no problem. There were issues with the brake rotors but both shops I took the car to after confirmed that East Ave Auto should NOT have failed the inspection because of those issues..... Everything that the business owner replied with is false. Please see my review on Browncrawft garage to validate that this business owner is untruthful. Browncrawft garage inspected the vehicle and said the brake rotors should NOT have failed inspection. Browncrawft failed the vehicle FOR A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ISSUE because the rear brake calipers were seized, something East Ave auto didnt even find! Browncrawft wanted to replace the calipers and refused to try to fix them first. A THIRD shop passed the vehicle with no work whatsoever. This third shop also found the brake calipers to be siezed but said it was not an issue that should fail inspection, and also fixed the calipers (instead of replacing) for much cheaper than browncrawft quoted to replace them. I contacted the business owner of east ave auto, Paul, who seems to think I have reported him to the DMV and sent inspectors to his shop. He must be confusing me with another customer tbat he tried to rip off. I have not reported anything to the DMV yet, but now that I know that is an option, I will definitely be doing so.I have to wonder if Paul things that all auto shops have to make a point to reply to all of their recent reviews. This shop has had all one star reviews for the past year, and there is a reason behind that: Dishonest business practices.Update 8/8/18 - Since the owner Paul accused me of reporting him to the DMV and sending inspectors to his shop before hanging up on me yesterday, I have filled out a VS35 form and submitted it to the DMV. I will follow up with their findings.

Ive been a customer at East Ave. Auto since about 2005. They can fix anything and everything! They have worked on ALL of my cars which include: toyota, mitsubishi, bmw, fold and my land rover! The quality of their work is fantastic, its a really great shop.
