Upon taking back a vacated franchise facility in Rochester NY, from a tenant that had previously used ADT Security, I began the process of continuing with said company for service. However, I had so many problems with the ADT salesperson from the very outset and his repeated attempts to up sell me with all sorts of add ons that I had absolutely no interest in, that I was prompted to research ADT nationally. I came across the national register of complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau whose sum total exceeded 3,400 poor experiences. Most of which seemingly had to do with customers trying to terminate their service, all the while ADT continued to bill them, even in instances where the original contracted term had ended. Needless to say I went with another company for my security needs. My strong advice to anyone contemplating using this company would be that you would be making a huge mistake to do so. A simple google of ADT nationally, reveals the most widespread negativity of any company I have ever researched...and by far!

I was on the phone with Thomas, he helped me with my billing and helped me trouble shoot my security system. He said he was in upstate New York near Rochester so I figured this was the best place to review him. I want him to get a raise! He was super helpful and took the time to understand what I was going through. I wish I had a last name but I believe he works in the general care department on the phones. he was working from home for sure, and he has a very unique voice ( not to be mean at all! He’s great! ) he has a hard time pronouncing certain things, which is perfectly fine!hope this helps! Thank you THOMAS!

Hi my name is Steve Caswell Ive been doing reviews on Google Now for a little while and got great success have that other companies treat me this way Ive made a review and within a week these companies are calling me back asking me to take my review down and my answer to all of them are the same no if you didnt win a bad review you should have done exactly what you said you were going to do from the beginning if theres something wrong with your company and you try to fix it later on thats your bed not mine I will never take a bad review down because the reviews are for people like me who are researching companies to find out who they want to work with I realize this review is rather long but if you read it Im pretty sure you think twice about using ADT or at least be where of what is happening when you call them There are a lot of things going on that ADT Home Security Systems Im going to start off by saying the only one good thing about them is the fact that when your alarm goes off they are quick to call you other than that everything about ADT is wrong there are sales people sell you and things that really arent true like their promotional deals in September I got a promotional deal the deal was if I signed up for a 36-month contract I would get a whole complete home security system on the promotion paper it showed all their new things Mobile touch screen wall mount system doorbell cameras cameras sensors the works when you talk to the salesperson they tell you youre going to get all that what they dont tell you is when the technician comes to your house hes only going to come with a stock old system a few centers for your windows and doors in a panel thats bolted down to your house and its push button after my technician left my house I called Apollo Global Management who owns ADT talk to you somebody in corporate they went to the tapes and they sided with me and said their sales person was shady and sold you on something of a false pretense so for the price of $540 they said they come and install what I wanted and what they said they were going to give me from the beginning their technician wouldnt take my money order and I never got my whole complete system and now they got me roped into a 36-month contract and there is no customer care there I had their system put in in September it is now Midway through December they dont care about their customers enough to give them what theyre paying for the only reason why I gave them one star its because like I said as soon as your alarm goes off their calling you saying somethings wrong other than that their company sucks I will be taking them to court to get out of my contract I have recordings of our conversations they have recordings of our conversations and I am fairly confident a judge will side with me if I were you I would look into other companies if youre looking for home security systems ADT in Apollo Global Management are clearly taking Safety Systems as a joke furthermore even though they called me if my house was really being broken to at 3:30 in the morning when my alarm went off I could have been killed along with my family before they even called me I cant even hear my alarm going off when Im sleeping how safe is that my hope is that a ADT person from corporate sees this more so I hope mr. Leon black sees this as he is the CEO of Apollo Global Management the company that owns ADT I am so dissatisfied and disgusted at the way there customer service people talk to you and the way theyre running their service I guess all there is left to say is in 2020 things have changed so much the people have forgotten about customer service and how people should be treated when theyre paying somebody for a service all Im going to try to do now is change things so that other people dont get screwed

I cannot believe the horrible experience Ive had with them. I just bought my new home and they put 3 giant holes in my walk installing the system then tried to give me something I didnt want or was told I was getting. Over 6k of stuff they tried to bill me for!!! I told the technician to remove it all and I dont want it but he talked me into the trial period. After a day I was still unhappy and called to cancel. I had to call 3 times to get someone to email me the cancellation form. The fax number on the form itself didnt work and I called only for their representatives hanging up on me or acting like I was an idiot. Theyd answer thank you for calling we are not talking to you good bye and click! I ended up calling 10 times just to end up in tears! Then no one could answer who will come and repair this damage, who will pick up the equipment, when will I receive my refund, and can I have a working fax number!?!? I also mailed the form as well but i dont trust that this company will do anything. I purchased ADT because I thought i was getting a high quality product. In the end I am just getting scammed.

Technician was very friendly and explained the whole process. System was installed in a timely manner. And very clean. Had a test period so we could check out additional features as well without actual alarms. Cameras are great too.. System Review.

The tech was friendly, polite, and clearly knowledgeable. He was efficient in clarifying for me what a big house like mine needed. Once we agreed he got to work and kept at it all day.. How a professional does it..

I think it was a great experience. the install tech was very knowledgeable. he took the time to explain everything thoroughly and also offered items that would enhance my security system such as fire and carbon monoxide detectors. He was really a nice young man.

I felt the technician, Armando, that was sent to install my new alarm system was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable on what system was needed for my home. He was very trustworthy and didnt try to sell me on all the bells and whistles of an expensive alarm system. He was great and I feel like my house is protected!

Do not recommend. Awful bait and switch business practice. Based on other reviews on Yelp this is a trend for this company... i think a lot of these google reviews are fake.I was told over the phone a price and made an agreement with the sales rep, after asking several specific questions. When the time came to install the equipment, the price went up 20x because of reasons I specifically made sure to ask up front. 20x!!! I was told the sales person made a mistake and that he would get re-trained on that specific issue.So I was then put in the position to renegotiate the price down after I had invested my time and money for the installation visit, and still didnt get what I was promised.The company asks for your credit card information up front so they can charge without your authorization, equating to robbery, like one of the other reviews mentioned. In the future I wont give a company my cc info, instead Ill have them send me a bill.I need the service, but Im looking for a different authorized dealer because I dont want to give these guys any of my money. They are the classic middle man that provides zero benefit to the consumer, and makes their money off of shady contract practices. Dont trust these guys. Unfortunately for ADT, these guys represent them and are ruining their name.

Very impressed with ADT technician/sales representative. He was prepared, listened to my concerns and was able to respond to questions in a professional manner. He customized my security around my needs and installed system effectively and efficiently.

Luis was great. He explained all our options and why each one was Important. He went overboard for us and was very personable and we know feel much safer!

Technician, Matt, who installed my new system was knowledgeable & polite in explaining how the system & service worked. However I have received numerous trouble alarms on my living room window sensors. Need a technician to come out...

Look at Tabitha swan and Kelly Watkins reviews just for starters. I was going to contact this provider but oddly enough as I read the reviews you find that the same people review very similar companies with similar statements like Nebraski plumbing and heating or truegreen etc.... No doubt fake posts by paid posters. Really too bad because reviews, true honest reviews can make a business great. Read reviews and you will see the odd coincidences then make your own decision. My one star is based on the review honesty not a personal experience

The installation process met my expectations seamlessly. The technician was outstanding in his manner, judgement, skill, and professionalism. Your company should make him the minimum standard for employees.

The installer was so very nice! And he really knew what to do and explained the various options his company offered the customer! He performed his job with excellent skills and explained the systems alarm system and said to call himIn the event something went wrong !

Well trained and competent people. The terms we had agreed to on the phone were the same oneson the contract. This was not the case when we recently dropped Per - Mar.

Exceptional Service....Amanda was great - she helped up decide exactly how to protect our home, and we are very happy with the system we received that was customized for us and our home.

Terrible customer service - bounce your calls around and dont try to resolve issues. No accountability for correcting errors.
