I left today disappointed. Id had a few records to purchase but noticed a couple of others were not stocked. I had asked the gentleman if they would be willing to place an order and they refused saying that it wasnt their type of music. I think a record store should be about people coming together to enjoy all types of music. I will not return and will not recommend.

One of my five favorite record stores in New England. I usually find the rare combination of I have always wanted this and I have never seen a copy this clean. The Clash wall (youll see) will stagger any Strummer fan.

A while ago I had called looking for a specific record that they didn’t have at that moment, but I had asked to be called if they should acquire it. Weeks later they gave me a call and I paid over the phone and they saved it for me! I am so happy to have it and so happy they saved my number to call!!

I did not know this place existed until I started searching for a local vinyl shop. I was in love 😍 I used to DJ with pair of Technics and missed the sound of vinyl. Shuffling through vinyls here was so nostalgic. Ill probably invest in a good turntable again one day but using a cheap one for now but the second here was like everyone else said! Highly recommended and with great vinyl selection 👍

Skele-Tone is hands down the best record store ive ever been too. In the heart of down town Rochester NH this place has a soild local with plenty of foot traffic and with a wide variety of music and friendly staff you cant beat it

Not only do they have an amazing selection but the staff is friendly, the atmosphere inviting, and the owner Todd is best. By far the most knowledgeable record store owner Ive had the pleasure to meet and a genuinely kind person. Really great place for lots of old vinyl. Theyre slowly starting to stock more and more new releases which is a pleasant surprise. Steer clear of the UK Colored Vinyl bootlegs though, theyre overpriced as hell and the colored. vinyl does not warrant ~$70 for, say, a bootleg copy of a Tool album. I wish the owners would stop stocking those because some customers dont know better because I ended up learning the hard way.

Really cool record store in downtown Rochester, NH. It is way bigger than it looks from the outside with a massive collection of records of all genres. The two working up front were helpful and engaging. Definitely check this place out!

So many options to choose from! Vinyl, 8 tracks, CDs and cassettes. Hilarious childrens albums from the 80s. Cool UK recordings of GNR. Kids snagged some Beatles, Queen, AC/DC, and ZZ Top vinyl. Definitely worth a visit!

Rochester is out of the way for me, so I rarely get up there. But I was hanging out in Portsmouth recently and had some time to kill, so I took an impromptu drive up to visit Skele-tone. I was impressed with the organization and layout of the store. Everything was neat and filed by genre, name, and all items were stickered with a price. Plenty of room to wander the aisles and browse. Lots of neat items to look at, decent vinyl selection, and the staff were very courteous. My disappointment (hence the 3 stars) was mostly regarding their prices. I found them to be 2x-3x higher than what I see elsewhere. I was in this shop for almost 2 hours, and only ended up finding 1 LP that was worth buying at their asking price. The other 4 or 5 albums I was considering I ended up putting back, as I knew I can easily find them for significantly less at other shops or online resellers. Even though they clearly only sell clean vinyl (no $1 junk bins here), a lot of the jackets were in VG or worse condition, yet still commanding TOP-dollar for the LP. Some brand new albums I found were priced 20% higher than Ive seen at other shops or even Amazon. Very discouraging to say the least. From my personal experience if you are hoping to score some bargains on vinyl records, new or used, unfortunately this is not the place to go.The other bummer was all the unofficial pressings that were mixed in with everything else. These are usually unauthorized imported reproductions of rare/OOP titles. Most of them are not labeled as such and can easily confuse or mislead someone who isnt familiar with them. There were tons of them in almost every section, and they are definitely not cheap. I feel like if youre going to stock these counterfeit pressings, they should be labeled appropriately so customers know what they are getting. Overall Im glad I took the time to visit this shop, and although I had fun looking through the inventory its very unlikely that I will return as I simply cant justify the high prices on stuff that I can easily find at other shops more local to me.

Todd, Becky, Rachel and all are incredible when it comes to knowing whats up with any type of music youre looking for. Their inventory is massive and ever changing. Prices are great as well. Often running sales and also have a stamp card program for additional discounts. Im usually not looking for anything in particular when I walk in, but I leave with a stack o vinyl every visit. Well worth the trip from near or far!!!

Incredibly large selection inside the small footprint of the store. Although I personally am not one to listen to records frequently, the scope of their selection had artists I recognized, and many I did not. Definitely worth checking out, if not just for the cool factor!

Great Record store. Well organized, friendly, knowledge staff, great selection of rare, out of print and rarities, most in very good or like new condition -many still in shrinkwrap. Wish Id bought a few more before the sale ended. Some T-shirts, posters and other stuff. Unfortunately no store branded t. I make a visit every time Im in town.

Great selection and upfront about the conditions of the vinyl. This is a serious record store. With a seriously good inventory.

Five ever-loving stars. If you dig vinyl, man, this place is like stumbling into Aladdin’s cave. Arguably the best record store in New Hampshire (although Pitchfork in Concord could give em a run...).Worth making a special trip.

Love this place, amazing staff, the best record store in the area, however, the prices are far too high. $10-15 above their value in most cases. It is over the top, but frequent sales keep me coming back. It must be said that if you go in there and there is no sale, walk out, you’ll get ripped off.

Skele-Tone Records. What more needs to be said? With a great name comes great responsibility, and these guys dont mess around. Wall to wall records, CDs, both new and used, some clothing, electronic devices and buttons... I could live there. The knowledgeable staff are on the ball and are always at the ready. I highly recommend Skele-Tone for those people looking for music to round out their collection!

This locations selection is huge and you could spend all day flipping through the bins. I personally wish they had a larger Metal selection as well as I wish that there was more common/everyday stuff that you would find at stores like Fye/Newbury comics. Aside from those two complaints this place is great. Prices are a little crazy though depending on what you are looking for. They have tons of t-shirts and even audio equipment in the back room if you are just starting out with vinyl. This place is worth a glance even if you are not into Vinyl
