Im thankful I found these guys. When my torque converter began to fail in my Toyota, AAMCO quoted the repair at $1000 less than anyone else could. Granted, they use re-worked components to save on parts, but if youre like me and not made of money, AAMCO is the way to go, no question.
They didnt give me any problems doing a transmission flush on my 08 inifiniti G35
My Name Is Tony Goodrum I am a pipefitter of local 290 . I bought a 1999 Dodge 350 extented cab diesel 5.9 cummins truck in Salem Oregon a year ago in December or 2019, love the truck but is was shifting between gears and would jump 200 rpms back and forth driving me nuts . It has litteraly the truck was setting with very little driving time ( for a year ) on the truck because I was afraid of the cost of repairs . Ever shop told me total rebuild $4,500.00 to $5,000.00 . I had a good experince before with Aamco before in Boise Idaho on a diesel 7.3 F350 . I called Jim in Salem on Liberty Street, He told me it might be electrical so i took the truck to Jim . They found the problem with in less than 2 hours . WOW what differnce their experince at that shop showed me . It was a small issue and had my truck back the same day !!! My experince with Jim and the staff at Salem was awesome over the top !!! The cost of repair was very minimal thousands less than i was expecting . Honesty to their customers and repeat customers is diffiantly their goal !! I put my approval on how i was treated and HONESTY to their customers . Thanks Jim to you and your staff . Started out my year GREAT Tony Goodrum Grand Ronde Oregon
Good work good price nice lab.
They did an awesome job of checking the issue and communicating the problem. The repair was done on time and at a fair price, I would definitely use them again.
Great service will use again as need happens
Thank you guys for your work on my jeep you rock!!
This place is awesome! I took my Subaru to a local dealer, and they wanted 4,000 to fix my transmission. At aamco they did it for 1300 and it was fixed in less than 24 hours!! Unreal!!! I highly recommend them!! Jim was awesome!
The staff at Salem AAMCO are fantastic. They gave us a thorough explanation of what happened to our car as well as what needed to be done. Our car was fixed incredibly quickly. I highly recommend them for any transmission or drivetrain needs.
Amazing staff! I got my car back in like 2 days! The clutch is beautiful definitely feels great and the transmission has low miles on it, I highly recommend going here
Shout out to Aamco for being patient my son had ordered a transmission out of state the other company took forever to get it back to him and they let him keep his truck there they were able to put the new transmission and quickly and get him up and running again thank you so much. Wish he would have got in his transmission from there to begin with!
Amco did a great job getting my truck back on the road. Jim kept me up to date with how long it was going to take and stood by what he said! Thanks guys for the work!
Dishonest and incompetent. If you cant get/keep customers based on your performance, then you dont deserve to be in business. Absolutely zero integrity or pride in their work. They lie about parts to get you to spend more money, they leave parts disconnected/not adjusted properly, its very shady and unsafe.
Dealt with Rick. Very proffessional and ran a safe disinfected environment. I was imperssed on the social distancing and the efficient and quality work done on our work truck. Thanks. Joe
We have received the most amazing service from your company, AAMCO in Salem, OR. I would most definitely recommend you to friends and family. Most important factor, Brian is a kick ass service representative who went beyond what would normally be expected to make sure that both my vehicles were taken care of quickly and efficiently and the PRICE was definitely right. Thank you so much.
We would give the shop more than 5 stars if we could. Brian, the manager, went above and beyond after our truck broke down when we were traveling from Minnesota to Northern California. Got the work done super quick and at a fair price, plus has a very qualified group of technicians working for him. Mario was one of the technicians. I want to give him a special thumbs up for his great customer service and work on our truck. Thank you, Brian and crew, for providing such a positive experience when we were in need of help. It speaks highly of AAMCO to have him as a manager. Thank you! Steve and Kathy Krueger
Does Anyone Know How Many Years AAMCO On Liberty Street in Northeast Salem It Has Been Open? Im Not Really Sure
Great mechanics here and they wont try to jew you out of money like some shops do
Helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Words cant even explain how outstanding my service was here with master mechanic Brian, being from Wisconsin over 2000 miles away from home, he checked over my car for free and told me what needed to be repaired, after all that i needed money to be wired to fix it, he went the extra mile and came and picked me up in the city and drove me to get the money on his own time and drove me back to the shop! we stayed and conversed for a while, all in all if i could rate this guys work and customer service it would be through the roof, he had my car ready in just a few hours and i could not be happier with the outcome, check this place out if you need work done on your car you will be 110% satisfied with the work done to your car!!! Thank you again Brian you are a life savor!
My Automatic Transmission lost all the upper gears on Saturday morning. I called AAMCO in Salem, Or.first thing Monday morning. Was told to bring it in. Was there at 8:15 AM and was promised Id have a rough estimate by early afternoon. As was promised, got my estimate. I gave them the OK to continue. By 2:00 PM Tuesday I had the total cost. I was promised I would have it back on Thursday and I did!Transmissions and motors are the most expensive things to replace or overhaul on a vehicle. If you look into the insides of a automatic transmission, think of an empty box with three flaps of the lid shut! Now take a puzzle and put it together inside the box. The mechanics are worth every cent of the repair job. They recommend returning 10 or more later to check for leaks and Etc.. Went there without a scheduled appointment and they checked it and everything was fine.BEST AUTO SERVICE IVE EVER HAD!
Just fair warning. They have great customer service and they are very committed to getting you back on the road but its comes with an extremely steep cost. My transmission rebuild cost more then double what it would have cost me to buy a brand new one and have it installed. As with any place or product, do you homework before taking it into a shop.
They did a great job!
I will be going back here for anything my car ever needs done, Jim especially was so Patient and absolutely awesome with all my high maintenance needs on my car. I felt important and they jumped through hoops to get my car running and back on the road. Thanks again guys!
Aamco in Salem always does the work well, does it professionally, stands behind there work, all for a reasonable price
Extremely friendly, very accommodating, willing to work with me.
Very good work. nice people. they fix all my family cars very good. brothers, cousins all use. A+++ They even stay late last time so i can pick up car.
Honest and great customer service
Paid for a transmission and one year warranty at the Salem store. It has always leaked a quart of fluid a month. I took it back five times in the first year for it to be fixed. Theyd have it for a half hour and tell me it was fixed. It never was. The last time I took it in, they told me it was a leaky seal and needed replaced for $380 since it was now over a year. I told them it had been leaking since they installed it, and they told me, No, its a new leak. TOTAL BS! Dont take your car here, they wont honor their limited warranty. They give you excuses, wait for the warranty to expire, and then theyll fix it if you pay them more money.
Very nice and very helpful
Extensive repairs on a neglected old ranch rig. Got my truck done by the next day
Salem AAMCO is the worst place to go for your transmission I have a 1999 dodge ram 2500 and Ive paid them personally $5,200 just for transmission itself, not including the lines that they forgot to put the clips on so they broke and they told me they didnt touch the transmission lines when they replaced the transmission and that they are NOT under warranty and I had to pay for them and have them installed. after all that my transmission is still BROKEN!!!. If there was an option for zero stars thats what I would rate AAMCO as a company. My truck has been in the shop several times for several weeks at a time this transmission should be almost invincible at this point!!! Im done with AAMCO! This is ridiculous!!

Hey AAMCO,Thank you for giving us awesome service this week! We brought our truck in for transmission service and ended up getting our oil leak fixed, and radiator replaced for an awesome price! AND most important, done in a very timely manner. You have scored a 5 star review from us! And we will be coming back for future servicesOnce again thank youMichael Bundy/ Diane Brinlee
Brian was willing to adjust his schedule to look at my truck. He was friendly and made me feel confident that there was not need for my truck to be service( though recommended by Oil can Henrys) . I am grateful for his work. Thank you Brian
Absolutely AMAZING service! Marty and Jim took care of everything. My car needed transmission work, and they made a very frustrating situation much easier to handle. I also found out that they do more than transmissions (I got my brakes and a/c taken care of too)
Got me in right away to change my back btakes. Great customer service jimmy, fred and ray!
Our tranny needed a complete rebuild. Aamco gave us a quote comparable to the other locations around Salem, but with a much better warranty. They honored the time frame they said theyd do it in and they honored the quote they gave us even though the extensive damage they found once inside should have cost more. Clean location, polite staff, and able to answer questions. Would recommend.
I have heard horrible things about this place, someone I know very well has had terrible luck with this store. The owner (Fred I think) is a coward and refuses to even return a phone call. Its very easy to run and hide but it take a man to step up and own his mistake and fix it.
Over charged for parts lied about the price for parts. The manager is a tweaker, FYI I wouldnt use a credit card there if your dont want to see charges on it down the road. Pretty fishy.
Five transmissions over four years. I was made to feel like I should be honored that they continue to work on my transmission after I paid over $4000 dollars for a transmission. Over 12 tows out of my pocket, four break downs, 1 that caused an accident and over 50 hours of my time dealing with this, my car is back at AAMCO with a bad transmission. And now Im told that I need to pay MY portion of the 40% prorated warranty. For a service that has not lasted more than 4 months!
Cant say enough good stuff about this place. This time they were super busy but still got me in on the same day. I have been to this aamco several times, and they have been friendly, helpful, and honest every time. Thanks Marty and Jim!
They came through for me in a time of need & also worked with me for the financing. I would recommend them to anyone with minor or major car issues. I certainly will be going back but hopefully just for regular car maintenance & tuneups.
Brian was awesome with the service we got at AAMCO. He was very informative and friendly. Compared to Salem Transmission Services that we stopped by first, we chose AAMCO...and Im picky so thats saying something.
They gave me the answers i wanted with the price. Thanks AAMCO
I own Woodburn Carcraft Body shop & Garage. When I need help with transmissions .Aamco is my go to shop. Fred & Brian take very good care of my cars. Thanks guys
These guys get a zero, and didnt even get out of the gate. We need some transmission work, so I called to see if they were open Monday. They were not, but I left a message asking for a call back when they opened. Two days later I havent received a call back. My husband told me he called yesterday to talk to them to see if we could just bring the car in or needed to make an appointment. He was put on hold for ten minutes before he finally hung up.So at best, they are too busy for new business. But I doubt thats the end of the troubles for anyone who takes their vehicle there.
I had the 3&4 four gear basket go out on my Silverado truck in April. AMMCO gave me a fair quote and fixed the transmission within a couple days. They also help with financing and provided a warranty for the work they did. Great job, recommend you consider them for your transmission repairs.
Went to aamco originally 7/2017 to have transmission rebuilt, cost $3091.00, more than i was told...fineIn april 2018 my car loses power then dies, i have it towed to aamco, they say not the transmission, its the crank shaft, car is toast. I decide for a second opinion...thank god and tow it to my mechanic, he within less than an hour says it is not the crank shaft, what he finds is that when aamco rebuilt my transmission they did not install my dowl pins, this caused the flexplate to brake completely free of the crank with then caused the crank to seize and the timing belt to jump 3 teeth. Total cost of repairs $1566.00, aamco refuses to pay for their negligence. And if that wasnt enough after my mechanic got it all back together, he test drove it and noted it was shifting to hard, so i take it to a different aamco they check it out and there is metal in the fluid has to be rebuilt a second time, 5 days after i get it back it starts dumping transmission fluid, back to aamco, front seal needs to be replaced.Good luck talking to the owner, i still havent.
I took my car to Salem AAMCO when it started having issues. Marty could almost guarantee that it would cost $1,700 to rebuild my transmission and they would have it done by the end of the week. Got the call that to rebuild would actually cost $3,200. Now at this point if I decided not to have them fix it they would have to put everything back together which would cost nearly the same amount. Now I understand you cannot know what is going on in the transmission until you fully pull it apart. Then you shouldnt almost guarantee something. That should have been my red flag! Lesson learned. The rebuild they did on my transmission came with a 10 year warranty. That gave me some peace of mind. Then my car started acting worse than before I had the transmission rebuilt. They willingly looked at it to tell me that what it was doing was not the transmission. After taking it to my regular mechanic, he confirmed it was a transmission issue which is why 3 tranny codes were coming up. He told me to have AAMCO check the valve body. Took it back to AAMCO with this information and they fixed it, but he says it is not the valve body. Car continued to have problems. I took it back to my mechanic who, again, tells me it is the tranny. Marty is quick to have his crew look at it and, again, tell me it is not the transmission. I gave him codes and a video of what my car was doing. Not their problem. My mechanic and I did some research and it appears that Salem AAMCO is not the place to take your car for transmission repair. Corvallis AAMCO is the way to go. I called and Phil immediately took care of the problem that was not even his responsibility. He figured out very quickly that the problem was the valve body. Surprise! I finally received the customer service and car care that I should have received from my neighborhood AAMCO. If you are thinking of using AAMCO to repair your transmission it will be worth your while to drive to Corvallis. If you are in Salem and need a good mechanic who knows his stuff call Doug at Real Tech.
Staff very friendly and helpful. All work was completed on schedule in time frame scheduled.
Awesome service, low prices, all around great experience, thanks again guys.
Cant express our extreme satisfaction with AAMCO (and Brian) enough... not enough stars!!! Thanks guys!
My transmission got stuck in third gear and I want to thank Brian and his staff for helping me get my truck back on the road and dealing with my extended warranty
These guys replaced my new parts for theirs. Then tried to charge my wife another $400 for something that didnt need to be done.Found out later that these were the new owners, and the previous owners moved to Corvallis(Best guys around).
Not sure if they forgot to bleed my clutch after replacing it but I could hardly make it home and after bleeding it myself I can finally get it in gear without an issue. They had told me they were taking it for a test drive before I picked it up. I paid $1,300.00
Fair, and quick
Awesome shop good people
We take all our cars here for everything.
