My 1999 Ranger 692VS repeatedly left us stranded at Canyon Lake. It was almost impossible to start and when it did, it often stalled or went into “limp” mode. A Mercury dealer had it for two months in 2020 but their “Fix” failed leaving us bumping up on rocks on an island. I’d read reviews about Wayne and his Boat Shop being good at fixing older boats like mine. What could I lose? If he couldn’t fix it, I’d sell it. He had the boat for over a month and gave me periodic updates. He worked with Mercruiser technical teams in Wisconsin to no avail. But he persisted and eventually found the culprit, a failed magnetic pickup off the flywheel. We picked up the boat and took it to the lake. When we turned the key, it instantly started and purred like a kitten. Then, we opened her up and it jumped out of the hole and tore across the lake. It has never run this good. Kudos to Wayne for his persistence. I now have my boat back and am confident it will provide many happy years of memories.

Called on Tuesday early morning . Was told cost of winterization was $99. Informed them of my receipt from previous owner showing they inspected and worked on motor trim . They advised me winterization was $90 and they would look at trim again as it was going up slow . Tuesday 4 pm had not heard anything so I called . Was told winterization was almost complete and they would be in touch . Wednesday came and went and no communication . Thursday 2 pm I call again amd the owner tells me they spoke with me about replacing my trim motor . I inform him no one has called me in 2 days . He gets upset amd becomes argumentative. I tell him look I’m just trying to find out status of my boat and why no one has communicated with me . He tells me to come for my boat and pay for the winterization. I arrive and once again he begins to argue . I tell him I simply asked about my property and why no one communicated with me . He writes my invoice and charges me more than quoted winterization price, charges me for an inspection and when he is pulling my boat out with a tractor, it detached from his hitch and rolls . He proceeds to re attach and pulls it to parking lot and leaves it without a word amd goes back to his yard . Will never ever recommend or do business with a business who has no respect for customers time, property and lies .my boat was detailed before I dropped it off and has mud all over it now from their shoes .

Wayne is great to speak to and very knowledge. I like that hes honest enough to say I dont know what that could be but Ill look into whats going on... Im only rating 4 vs 5 stars because Ive got my boat in for the 2nd time for the same issue. Im hoping it gets fixed this time around for good and that Im not charged unnecessarily which, doesnt seem to be the way that this business operates to begin with.

Let me start by saying this. I do not write reviews ever, but this is an exception. I have been building a boat for the past 3 years. And last part came down to the motor which was a 1970 Mercury 650. Most boat shops wont touch motors this old. Im no mechanic but I got the thing running after hours and hours of work, but it was running a bit rough. I took it in to the boat shop and the gentleman there went out of his way and made this motor go from a angry tiger growling at its cage master to a nice purr. The work here is great and I highly recommend it. The price is even better, I was expecting the pay over 300 bucks I came down to 75 with military discount. IF I ever have a boat motor issue I will definitely take it back here.- Lehman

This shop fixed my issue and was very informative. Wayne kept me up to date on what was going on. The turn around was less than a week. I left a very happy customer. My boat runs great now. Thanks Wayne, youre the man. If any of you out there has boating issues, I would highly recommend this shop.

I had to wait two long weeks to get my boat serviced, they are busy. Seemed like forever, but some things are worth the wait. I had a starter bolt break off in the engine and I was not going to tackle it since the engine had to be removed. Boat was ready in about a week and the cost was in right in line. I could have easily been overcharged more but felt it was a fair price. I could have taken my boat somewhere else but I trust this boat shop. Wayne and his guys do great work. Time for the water one more time before spring.

Purchased a used boat from a family friend that had been kept in a garage for a few years. I know nothing about boats. Looked around SA for a shop to take a look and get the boat up and going. Brought the boat in around the end of January. Gentleman that helped me seemed like a good guy. He said they looked it over and found that it was running great. Just recommended a few small things. Left with a bill of around $350. Was very happy.Got the boat out on the lake a few weeks later. Backed it down the ramp and tried to start it up. Battery completely dead. Luckily was able to get a jump.Attempted to drive the boat and it died multiple times.Brought it to another shop- multiple issues needing to get repaired.I am out $400.I would not advise this shop at this time.

This is a square shop. My little motor went in for tune up and carb rebuild. It ran well for a little while then was cutting out. I remembered Wayne said to bring it back if I had any problem. I took it back and Wayne took some time and pains to figure out the issue. He found it fixed the issue and did not charge although he could have. He called after hours to let me know it was ready. Great job!Mike

My husband and I took our boat their twice with all times the same problem engine not getting enough gas and then dying. The first time mechanic said he rebuilt the carburetor. We went back on the lake same problem took it back and this time the mechanic said it was bad gas and that he flushed it all out. When we took it to the lake again same problem. This time we took it to a different mechanic who was referred to by a friend. This mechanic informed us that the carburetor was never rebuilt. Basically stole our money and time that could have gone to so many other things for our family. So disappointed and disgusted.Dan and Rose Rodriguez

Very honest boat repair shop that I highly recommend. Took my scooter for steering problem and owner was easily able to identify problem was a bracket was installed upside down. He even explained how to fix it on my own, but I had him fix it for me. Boat was returned in a couple of days and the steering is absolutely working perfect. Cant ask for better service that that. Will be bringing boat to this shop in the future for sure. Thanks for getting my scooter back in the water!!!

Great first experience with the Boat Shot. One week turnaround, unbelievable!Wayne called with assessment and estimate on repairs. You should always choose new parts, not worth it to try used parts.Fished this morning, engine started on first try. Excellent power, smooth idle; then engine died out. But, my bad; I did not snap in fuel line all the way. No problem after my error.
