The technicians does not make accurate diagnosis on vehicles. I was told my diagnosis earlier in the day and my out of pocket cost. That item was replaced and later the same day I received another call, telling me I had two parts creating my problem. My total cost of repairs would have been almost $1800.00. I taken my vehicle to another dealership and had it fixed for less than $500.00. The additional 26 miles I drove was well worth it. Keep in mind it good to get a second opinion.

Came in to do recall. Asked service advisor to look at button that got loose on my dashboard. I got quoted 140 just to diagnose the situation. Guess they really need to make money from somewhere. My truck is two years old with 15000 miles. So much for three bumber to bumber service!!We have bought 5 vehicles here in the past 15yrs. Guess thats the last time we with come to this dealership.

I see this dealership got great reviews from others, maybe because we are of a different race ( and I hate to go there) we were treated very different. We are going to stick with North Park Toyota. All the employees there are very friendly, even if they arent waiting on you they will offer you a bottle of water or a cup of coffee and everyone speaks to you even the mechanics passing by you! I have low expectations when it comes to dealerships. Universal isnt any different. Great response and professionalism up until you sign the deal. They are not looking for repeat business. If you HAVE to go there, get everything in writing and trust no one. I got caught up in the personal attention and trusted them. Will not return. One extra star for Rocco. First met with Ruben Gomez the sales manager and had a wonderful introduction. He listened to my concerns and wants. Ruben then got me set up with Jesse Monrreal, who worked with me for at least five hours. Came in with a lot of baggage/bad credit from my previous car that I was trading in. Jesse took care of me, educated me, made me feel comfortable and ultimately supported whatever decision I made. At the end of the day I was able to get a vehicle I really liked and with a great interest with Anthony Rosario (the finance manager). 10/10 would recommend to a friend. Great experience!!!

We have generally liked this place and its conveniently located only about 5 minutes from our house. I scheduled an appointment for an oil change at 7:40 am on a Friday. My wife took the car in at that time and did not get home until 10:20 am. She was not happy. When she arrived, they said it would take 1 1/2 hours. She asked what was the point of scheduling an appointment if it took that long for an oil change, and they told her they were short of staff and also had to deal with additional restrictions due to Covid19. The car sat there for nearly two hours before any work was started. Although she could not see exactly what was going on in the garage that might have caused delays, she did observe other things that contributed to overall delays. For example, when the service was finally finished, she had to wait an additional 15 minutes or so just to have somebody walk the paperwork over to the cashier, and then wait longer as the cashier casually chatted about something before processing the paperwork. She then asked for the key but was told that somebody else would bring the car around front. She could clearly see where the car was parked and thought she saw the key with the cashier. She sat down and waited until she saw a guy casually stroll in to pick up the key. Rather than wait for him to get in the car and pull it around front, she grabbed the key from him and said shed take it from there. So, the 1 1/2 hour appointment (which was already unreasonably long for an oil change that was scheduled for an early morning appointment) ended up taking 2 1/2 hours. Our previous maintenance appointments with them have usually taken long as well, but this was just too much. We wont be taking our vehicles there anymore for routine maintenance.

My family and I have been buying Toyota’s and using their services FOR YEARS and I will no longer give them my business. I called to get a quote for tires and secured my appointment. On the day of my appointment I was told after I checked in that it was over $100 of the original quote. I even had a coupon that didn’t even help. I was told that I was not given the cost of labor and only for parts. The person I spoke to didn’t tell me that, he used the exact words “out the door”. I spoke to a manager and she would not honor the original quote. For a $100 they lost a customer, very sad. I have complained about the wait time in the past and it has gotten worse. You need to make sure you have an extra 3-4 hours for an oil change even with an appointment. They say they have five star customer service and unfortunately this is not the case anymore. I’m glad I didn’t buy the new truck I was seriously considering a few weeks ago.

My experience wasn’t as good as the last (last time I got a new car) but it was okay. I traded my car in and got some equity on the car I was purchasing, but the car wasn’t ready when promised and I was not offered a loaner. I was offered to take the Corolla I just sold to them. I didn’t feel comfortable with doing that especially considering I was on a spare tire. Anyway, I am happy with the purchase for the most part, it was mostly clean, but there was some hair and crud I had to clean out myself so the detail was not thorough.I was expecting a professional detail on such a big purchase from a dealership. I was also promised a tank of gas and was told they were out but I could come back. Experience was just okay. Car is great.Ask for Ohannes when doing the finance portion, he will take care of you. 5 stars for him.

After texting back and forth with the dealer for a week due to being out of town, was told in text that the payment plan and pricing I was looking for was “something we would be able to do.” So I drove for over two hours to get here, only to be told that this statement was false and made me feel ridiculed for even proposing such a number. They also pulled shady sales tricks, for example while the salesperson went to consult with the manager, they sent in a worker saying “Is this where the keys are? Someone wants to see it”, as I’m watching him walk the keys to my salesperson. Lastly after leaving very disgruntled, I get a follow up text about a simile vehicle they received, and when asking for more information, received no communication back. These are the establishments that give car dealerships a bad name, and based on the lack of integrity and poor service, I do not recommend anyone to do business with this dealership.

Daniel was my car sales person. He was OUTSTANDING. I never felt pressured to buy a more expensive car at any point. He talked to me about my options and was very helpful along the way.When I went to finance, they helped me out a lot. They remembered from conversation that I was a teacher and found my a better rate because this bank gave discounts to educators.A great experience! They gave me the most from any other dealership for my trade in.The only thing I wish they would do is fix the AC in the preowned building. It was boiling in there and made it super uncomfortable to be in there for very long. Once you walk into the new car building its very obvious which building they put all of their resources into. Water bottles are also only in the new car area. Daniel was extremely nice to walk over there and get my daughter and I some waters.

Thirty days later I am still waiting for my equity check, I was told once the pay off check then I would receive my check also. To this very day I am still getting the run around. Let me just tell you guys. Jesse monrreal did an outstanding job in helping me get approved for a 2021 Toyota . The experience was much surpassed from my imagination that I thought was gonna be harder. But this guy right here is the man. Never gave up but always kept his cool even when I didn’t get approved for a Tacoma. But understand I had bad credit. And the whole hustle that Jesse has Is unreal and professional. We did my whole sale through text and very short phone calls since I was at work and not enough time to talk, I have to say this whole buying experience has been the best that I have ever had. Brought my SUV here for service and they broke my front liscense plate holder. They said this happens all the time in the car wash. They offered me a lame replacement part for it and sent me on my way. @universaltoyota #universaltoyota If you know your car wash damages property, you should fix it. Pretty weak guys. Do better.

I had a bad experience with Universal Toyota. I took my vehicle for state inspection and the Toyota service representative tried to scam me out of my hard earned money!!! He told me my vehicle needed running lights which I had no idea what he was talking about. When I saw the price of the repair he said it was going to be $47 for an item that my vehicle didnt need. I told the service representative that I was not going to pay $47 dollars for light bulbs and took my vehicle. I took my vehicle to the local jiffy lube and they said all of my vehicle lights were working correctly and just paid $7.00 for the inspection. I understand Universal Toyota wants to make a buck, but dont do it this way, dont scam people out of their hard earned money. I will never go back to this place again!!!!😠

I purchased a new vehicle 8 months ago. Cash purchase, nothing financed. I was told I could not get military discount or loyalty discount because I did not finance vehicle. I since traded this vehicle and I have been trying to cancel a warranty on the vehicle. they told me it was Friday and that were busy n for me to come back Monday morning. I stayed n waited even though they told me it would be a while thats if they could get to me. I was given a paper and instructions to call in three weeks if I didnt hear anything. I noticed they put down wrong address on the paper and have made 6 phone calls in a week and a half trying to correct that and get information. Left messages and no one has ever called me back. Very disappointed I cannot recommend this dealership nor will I purchase another from them. By the way once deal was done I was sent on my way no info on technology or how to use gadgets in car. Im elderly and disabled so I did need the additional time. I normally dont complain but unless I go back to the dealership and sit there nothing is going to b done. Thank you

Answered a Facebook ad about a used car. Tom Harbison was the person who posted the ad. He was very rude after I tried to ask him when he was going to be there so I could come in. He became angry in the messages because I didn’t answer him back right away and he was on vacation now. To say the least I told him I would not be doing business with him and he told me that it was fine that I should go somewhere else and he didn’t want to help me instead of telling me when he would be back. Instead I went to a competitor with my business and $2500.00 down payment and got a very nice 2019 Honda with 36000 miles that same day. Universal Toyota needs to retrain this salesperson to be courteous to his customers and be patient. He was trying to sell to me that same day and I needed a few days to get things in order and he got mad because I finally got back with him 4 days later and he was on vacation. SMH.

Went to Toyota in Victoria and had THE WORST experience. Walked out and left without a car.Called Toyota in Universal City, San Antonio and Chelsea-Leigh Scott was AMAZING!! From start to finish, keep in mind everything that was discussed and setup was all over the phone and text message. When we got to the dealership we literally walked in, signed everything and left with a new car and extremely satisfied. Mr. Bakht (I apologize for the spelling) was exceptional as well. He didn’t haggle the price and if we declined something he didn’t continue to push it. He was very polite and professional!My husband and I left completely happy and satisfied! If you go here for service do not expect to use their shuttle service. Have been waiting over 2 hours, then was told the shuttle was not available right now. This is not a customer service at an acceptable level. I told them when I booked my appointment that I would need shuttle service since they indicated that the service I requested would require drop off rather than waiting.

You set appointment time for services, yet you still wait 4 hours or more for just an oil change, what a waste of time. The lady staff, after checking my details, informed me that my oil is good and they are changing only after 10k miles, how ridiculous, i told her that is too long, that is my average 1 year use, don’t know if she is just sleepy or dont know what she is doing, knowing the company set the oil change every 5k milea

I have nothing but good things to say about this place, my experience here, and the people that work here. Julia is absolutely wonderful. She was extremely knowledgeable and respectful of our time and bent over backwards to get us the best deal possible. Michael Chambers in the Finance Department explained everything in detail and didnt rush through anything or make us feel pressured into taking anything that we felt wasnt necessary. The people in the Service Department are all very polite and courteous. The entire process went so smoothly that I dont think well ever purchase another Toyota vehicle from anywhere else.

Love the car, but not so great experience otherwise. It didn’t seem like my salesperson was listening to me. Kept showing me cars out of my decided price range. Finally decided on a specific car and it was already sold. Found another option but the price seemed off. Anyways, decided on a car and purchased. I will mention that the finance person was great and explained everything. The sales experience was incredibly long and frustrating.Was told by salesperson/his manager? to come back in for tint. Was told it would only take a couple hours and would be given a loaner car. Went in on my only day off for the week and asked for the loaner car, but was told they did not have Any. Was told it would take two hours. The salesperson never came back with an update, another person saw that I had been sitting there for two hours and decided to check on me. He went back to check and came back told me it would be an additional hour. In the end, it wasn’t even my salesperson that handed me the keys, it was the person that checked on me. It was just an incredibly frustrating experience. Again, great car but would not recommend because of the customer service experience.*****Just a follow up - I called the person the owner commented to call and left a message. It has been weeks and I never received a call or email. So, that’s the type of customer service you can expect from this place.

You can honestly tell that he likes his job and takes great pride in his work. We are working on our 8th Toyota so car buying is definitely not a new experience for us.When we arrived a young lady came outside with the warmest most enthusiastic welcome ever. I had already had arrangements with Ernest Ayala to purchase a Camry. Relocated out here due to a military move. My 4Runner needed maintenance due to an airbag recall. Dropped off my 4Runner and due to the unexpected length in time for maintenance I was given a rental. Customer service was great. I ran into one of the sales reps and had asked a question regarding lift installs. A very nice gentleman named Jon Henry. We were talking like we had known each other for years. Before I headed out he said he wanted to show me something and of course I knew we were headed toward the Tundras because I said I had been wanting to get into a Tundra again. Anyways long story short I went in with a 4Runner and left with a brand new 2019 Tundra lol. I couldn’t pass up the great deal I got. The process was smooth and Jon made it fun throughout the process. We all know how long this process takes. If you are in the San Antonio area hit up Universal Toyota and ask for Jon Henry. You won’t be disappointed.

Buyer beware! With all the choices too buy from Toyota dealerships in San Antonio - why would anyone ever go to Universal Toyota? Their salesman do not know the features of the products they sell... they are only about getting the sale!I could go on and on about the terrible buying experience I had but their actions speak louder than their words. I am from out of state -a state that requires 30 day registration from the date of purchase. I explained this multiple times to the salesman, the finance guy and even the finance manager. I paid an extra fee to insure that my car would be registered in the allotted time given to me.Here I sit, 38 days after the sale... and the county treasurer still has none of the necessary paperwork to register the vehicle. I have called so many times, the only person I can talk to is the lady who answers the phone! Voicemails are not returned and no one gives a care.I have always bought Toyota’s... but I will never do business with this sub standard dealership. Toyota should remove their products from this dealership.

Unfortunately I traded in my 2020 forerunner for a 2021 tacoma due to family needs. I previously bought my forerunner from Universal where I had a great experience with my salesman William (Tony) Frank in 2020...thus why I went back to universal Toyota.Buying a vehicle is a big thing for me, Tony’s knowledge of the product is phenomenal on the Tacoma. There was not much of a selection due to vehicle shortage but got a good value for my trade and a good price on my truck. Tony found the right truck for me ( lifted and V6). Tony is very personable and Keeps it real, that is something missing from the auto sales industry.Funny story, My friend (came for moral support only)was so impressed by Tony’s expertise on the Camry and professionalism he bought a 2021 Camry the same day.....That’s what you call a two for one special! LolI’ll be back in the future, Thanks Tony!

First off found a vehicle in the website that I requested a test drive on. Everything went well, I was called back, and I confirmed the vehicle was still available. I was informed yes by the dealership. Arriving my assigned salesman came out for the test drive. I was immediately asked if they could take my car back for an estimate. I advised I wanted to test drive the vehicle I saw first. So, the salesman took me to the vehicle, but it wasnt the vehicle from the website photo. I was advised that was not available there right now. I looked at other options they did have. After test driving U decided to get my car appraisal to see what they said I would get. Mind you I was told they even give extra back on a trade in. So, while they did the appraisal I went down the street to grab some dinner. While at dinner I was asked about my current car loan, a picture of my drivers license and was asked to send my Social Security number via text to the salesman. (Obviously, I was not comfortable doing any of that because it was going to be available in someones cell phone.) I called and asked why he needed the information for an appraisal, and he said I thought you wanted to run the numbers for purchase. I never once said anything like that. Returned to the dealership, and was given all kinds of excuses about the truck photo from online, and the appraisal came back at 14,000 ( verbal, no paperwork showing). I was pretty offended by that since I already knew an estimated value based on kbb as good condition and very good condition, and the fact that they said they give more on a trade in that anyone else. After being done dealing with the lies and bs that was fed to me the entire time I left, went to CarMax next door and received an appraisal for 17,000.Beware of the online click bate (photo attached) for this location, the shadiness, and the appraisal value they give. Since I have had at least 2 other people tell me this location is not the place to go.

Ive dealt with two different sales guys and theyve been friendly and helpful. But,nobody sold me car here, I picked out the car myself online that i wanted to buy, and thats the only one I went to see.The vehicle was supposed to be ready 3 days ago, and tomorrow will be 4. Its been like pulling teeth every step of the way including the finace department. I understand they might be short staffed but its been a terrible buying experience.I told the sales team and the finance team my urgency but nothing seemed to effect anything. And anybody i ask doesnt seem to have detail on what the delay is.This has inconvenienced me, Ive wasted some of my time, im second guessing my purchase, and have lost trust with this dealership. Hopefully theyre not selling me a lemon cus I dont know what theyre doing to it.I wish I wasnt in a rush to buy a car, i would of canceled and went somewhere else.

My family took my 2018 RAV4 to Universal Toyota service to get a mirror replaced. When they were asked to pick up the vehicle they were told that the mirror had to be paid for and then ordered. I called in the next day and spoke to Brianna McDonald. I told her I wanted to order the mirror. She asked if i wanted the whole mirror. I told her the mirror works and could I get just the top replaced. She said yes. I paid for the part over the phone and she said she would call me when it came in. 7 days later. I had not heard anything. I called and she stated it HAD JUST ARRIVED THAT MORNING. (interesting that I called the same instance it was delivered to Universal Toyota). I told her I would pick it up. When I arrived at the service department, there were 5 cars in the area. They eventually all were moved and I was the only car.left. One worker said someone would be with me. Nothing for another 5-7 minutes. I called the Service Department and asked for Brianna, person who answered said she would be right out. Another car drove up and was taken care of, yet I sat there waiting. It would not have been a problem, until Brianna walked up with the mirror part, NO GREETING, she tried to install it but could not, she said it was not going to work as I told you before I told her I had not spoken to her, she said she told my husband - she said i have it on the invoice, I wrote everything verbatim so there would be no issues I asked her where she wrote it and she said the invoice. There is nothing verbatim in the invoice. Her attitude was the pits. She claimed she did something she didnt do. She had told me she would install as soon as I came in, as it would just snap in. WRONG, she couldnt install, she had to call someone else to help her. When she I told your husband when he paid and took the car. I paid for the part over the phone no one else paid for it. This experience was totally HORRIBLE. Bad attitude from a service person. That is the last time I deal with this person who obviously needs a different job other than dealing with the public.

I would give 5 stars for the service while purchasing my truck. Unfortunately the service or total lack there of after the purchase has been like I’m a ghost. I bought a brand nee TRD Pro that has a black tip exhaust. It turned green in the first month of use and I can’t get anyone to help. I get sent to voicemail every time I call. No returning of voicemails. No returning of calls or text from the salesman that sold me the truck. No response from anyone. 🤷🏼‍♂️

A big thank you to Justin Randow and the Toyota team! Took my vehicle in just for a oil change and brought up the weird alignment issue I was having. The team appointed me to the service advisor Justin, in which they immediately took action on. Long story short my 2021 Toyota RAV4 XLE was encountering a steering wheel sensor issue in which then was resolved and is running perfectly. If you are having problems with your vehicle I HIGHLY recommend taking your vehicle into Universal Toyota! They will update you in a timely matter and try to get your vehicle back to you as quick as possible! I didn’t even purchase my vehicle from this location but they still treated me like I was their customer! THANK YOU!

The sales person was nice but I’m pretty disappointed. I went in to look at low priced vehicles I told them my credit situation they showed me one car the only car they said I could get approved on they offered me a pmt of 500-580 but never even told me what exactly the pmt would me I asked if we could get to a smaller pmt I am not even asking a big difference under 500 and that was the end of the Experience. I asked them not to blast my credit all over the place and they did just that and to primary banks who more likely would not take someone with my credit. Not only did I not get a fair chance to buy a car here they sabotaged my chances at being able to buy a car anywhere else my score dropped 40 points because of this. Not happy at all.

First, please don’t think that making an appointment means anything. Our appointment was for 9:00 for an oil change and flat tire. At 11:30, we’re still waiting.We just missed the 45,000 mile checkup. That was due to a flat tire. Prius owners beware- there is no spare tire and the sealant that is provided didn’t work. Defective can, I guess. This put our family in a very dangerous position as it was an isolated road in Texas with no cell service. Toyota alert- they really don’t care. The service representative told us the sealant ruins the sensors- that begs the question as to why Toyota puts it in the cars in the first place.Toyota road service is terrible. When I called, the person who answered the phone couldn’t even find us on the map. Not reassuring if you’re looking for a tow.With these issues, Universal Toyota was not the least interested in recognizing that we were over 45,000 miles because we didn’t have it towed. So we pay for the oil change instead of having the cost covered.As an owner of 5 Toyota’s, I am disappointed and discouraged by the attitude at Universal, and the shrug of the shoulders by Toyota regarding safety issues.By the way, we’re still waiting for our car. We finally got some help when I complained to the Parts Management Office. It’s almost noon and they’re, finally, I think, attending to the car. Also FYI- I asked three times why they bothered to make appointments and got no answer.Classic Toyota in Waukegan Illinois is first rate. Universal Toyota in San Antonio is truly terrible.

Extremely poor customer service. My husband and I had our financing approved before entering this facility. We are hard workers who utilized our earned income to facilitate financial freedom via our small business. We are also African American. We were not even greeted when we entered with our 2 year old son. They just stared at us for literally 7 minutes, then my husband started ducking into offices asking for help. Purchased a 2018 ‘special edition’ tundra (big tires, aftermarket rims, 3” lift, bed cover etc.) new couple years ago. Jose was the salesman. Whole process was smooth as butter. One time my wife called the wrong Toyota dealer to schedule the oil change by accident, which we didn’t know until after we showed up at Universal, and they still got us out within an hour. Also noticed a few flecks of spray in bed liner where it was thin, and universal fixed it ASAP that day. Great dealership.

Nothing in stock unless you have perfect Credit. We put $2000 down on a vehicle. Ezekiel said we can pick it up the next day. Its now a week. Still no car. No one cares or understands the frustration they have put us through. So fast to take our money. Mr. Maldonado was rude as well. We needed a car last week. Ive been to many car dealerships and never paid money for a car and had to wait. You put down on a car, do the paper work and drive off. Not the case here. Ezekiel sells cars that arent ready.His excuse is we dont have any cars ready dont waste your time here unless your credit score is over 700.

I went there to shop for MYSELF and get MYSELF a car but this guy Xavier was extremely rude to me and only gave my boyfriend respect when talking about the cars. I’ve never had this bad of a experience with a car dealer but it was unacceptable. He should really learn how to treat women shopping for their own cars and it makes sense why his sales are so low. All,Yes, Tony Franks was my salesman, or should I say is my salesman. I say this because he will always be my salesman for my Toyota needs. Unless of course Universal Toyota promotes him, which they should as soon as possible.Tony was the first sales person in my 40 years of buying cars that actually got it right. First thing I noticed was Tony’s knowledge of the product. So many times when I’ve purchased cars in the past I knew more about the car than the salesman selling the car. Secondly, nothing turns me off more than a salesperson who comes off as flash and dash or all about money or looks. Meaning if you feel that by wearing a Rolex or a fake one (had this happen years ago) and presenting yourself in a status you are not, it’s a big fail in my book. Tony was nowhere near this. He was genuine, trustworthy, and on the level.Don’t let Tony’s young looks deceive you, he knows people, can develop rapport with them, and he knows the cars he sells. You can tell he knows all the inner workings of Universal Toyota and has relationships in each department.
