I’m impressed. Decent prices and wide selection of car sound systems. Initially I assessed average customer service, the small things mean a lot. When my car is serviced by mechanics, I expect to be acknowledged when I walk into your store even if you are with another customer, the floor carpet mats to be protected with a paper floor mat and my steering wheel cleaned.UPDATE: The store Manager, Marco called and wanted to know the details of my visit and how he could make it right as he and his team do practice courtesy and ensure an auto’s surfaces are clean after his team services a vehicle. He has offered to have the vehicle detailed to correct the oversight. Customer service is important, thank you!
Best place for alarm system, had alarm system installed about a month ago and working great.Update:So brought my Chevy obs and they didn’t a great work putting alarm on this vehicle as well. So far two vehicles and they have done magnificent work on them. I still have another vehicle that needs an alarm and will return for a third one
I have an Anniversary Jeep Rubicon (my baby) and I have gone to Custom Sounds for EVERYTHING - my under-glow lights, wheel lights, 2 sound systems (since I wanted a newer version a few years later) and even just to stop by and hear what ideas they have for my jeep. The work here is AMAZING and great quality - I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Sometimes the shop is a bit busy - but they are worth the wait. The manager Marc is always able to get what I’m looking for, or come up with ideas on what I can do - very knowledgeable and friendly. I love this place, I will be a customer for life!!!!!!!!
**UPDATE Marco from store called in to apologize for bad experience and vowed to have employee trained on issues in this comment; Also said he would work with me on getting parts needed for install and answer any questions I had. Very Impressed with quick turnaround. Marco was very professional and understanding.Nice inventory fair prices. My salesman sucked. Said there was no kit made for my car (2013 Camry). Then forgot to list all Items in quote. Just overall not really knowledgeable or enthusiastic. If I buy from this company I will go to another location and see if its any better.

I came to Custom Sounds in San Antonio off of 1604, to get a two way alarm on my car. I got them on the phone and got an appointment within a week. Upon entering the store I was immediately approached by Daniel and he got the process started quickly so that I could go back to work. He was very courteous and made sure to explain all the options available to me to fit my needs as a customer. They were able to complete the alarm in my car in a matter of hours on the same day. I definitely recommend coming to Custom Sounds on 1604.
Just bought a jeep and had tint done. Upgraded my radio system as well. Prices were great and service was even better. Marco Martinez was the one that assisted me and was very professional. Made an appointment and my jeep was done on time. Definitely going back again.
They installed my new headlights that I asked them to do and they left them uneven, after that they left my horn positioned weirdly to wear it was a funky sound to wear you couldnt even hear at all while driving till I got home and leaned it, I could hear it much better.

Dont waste your time with this place. Made an appointment well in advance. 3 weeks to be exact.10:00 a.m. appointment time, showed up at 9:45 a.m. Got a call that the vehicle was ready after being there 8hrs. While in route, received another call asking to keep car overnight cuz they had just started it, however, when pulling up I noticed the car was still in the same spot. It wasnt even touched. Looks like this place is overbooking appointments, dont know whats going on, and doesnt value a customer time.

My experience was terrible, beyond terrible in fact. I payed 900 dollars for them to install a basic four speaker and a head unit, I asked for pioneer speakers, specifically, and did not receive them AT ALL. Then was told, and I quote, “hertz were better”. They are in fact, terrible speakers, that can’t even handle 75% volume without crackling badly. The reason I believe I was given such a high price tag and sub-standard equipment was because I utilized the “in house” credit program. I’ll NEVER employ or recommend this company to anyone I care about. I hope to help anyone who is thinking of giving their money to this company, know that it is better spent elsewhere.
This place doesnt know how appointments work. Took my Jeep here a couple weeks ago for a 10:15 appointment, they didnt even start working on it till 6pm!! Then rushed to finish it before closing at 7. I was mad but I let it go things happen. Now on Jan 10 I have a 10am appointment imagine my surprise when I show up and THEY DONT EVEN OPEN TILL 11!!!!!!! who does that? Apparently this place.

BEWARE of Customer Sounds. They installed a stero with blue tooth in my truck in October. They scratched my dash, they had cables dangling from the glove box, and damaged my navigational system. They dont answer the phone, so I have to go to the store to get a status update. Mark the manger is useless. I had to go over his head after four months. Gus fixed the scratches on my dash in January, but swear they didnt do anything to my naviagational system. When they put the system in my truck the navigation stop working and they put another system in it and the color came back. Basically I paid them to messed up my truck. It has been a nighmare. Beware people! I would give them a negative 3 stars.

Went in and spoke to Marc about having a sub and amp installed in my 2020 ROUSH F150. Marc was awesome! Very personable, great customer service as well. I also met with Javi (technician) the day of my install and he was very customer service oriented as well. I was very impressed with the clean install and it sounds great. Exactly the way my stereo was supposed to sound. Keep up the great work guys!

Great experience i had a issue with my wiring and did not know. One of the employees marco helped me out all day. He made sure i got the sound i desired and never gave up until it was done. Really took care of me for a good price. I recommend this location for anyone thats looking for a great deal in sound quality.
I went by to check what it would cost to get a Viper alarm installed and he said $899. I did check some other local companies and they were $200 below this price. When I mentioned this to him, he said well good luck with that. I said thank you and as I turned he hissed at me. As a consumer, I have the right to choose the company that charges less without getting the guilt trip. Thanks but no thanks.
Took my truck in a couple weeks ago for alarm,tint and touch screen, and back up camera.. came out to pretty good $$$$ . But the customer service was AWESOME!! Thanks Frank the help and assistance.. will have to go back to align my camera a bit better.. but GRAET WORK GUYS!!. THANK YOU!!

Don’t waste your money and time here. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else for window tint. Had to bring back my car FOUR TIMES! until I finally told them to take of tint so I can go elsewhere.

I went to go get a new alarm system put in to my car after break ins in my neighborhood. I was met there by Marc and he gave me the best service possible made sure I was comfortable with the alarm system I was getting. I even referred my niece to go over there and speak directly to Marc.Amazing service company is lucky to have him!.
Needed a car stereo for my mustang. Met the store manager, Marc. He was very informative and give me several choices to choose from. I don’t know much about stereos and didn’t feel rushed at all. Had it installed with no problems. Will definitely recommend speaking to Marc if you have any questions about stereos or tint.
Don’t waste your time and money here for tint. Had to bring my car back 4 times and had to leave it for a full day every time. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. On top of that they don’t even have a guy there every day, they use a contractor to do their tint for them. And one more thing to add the cherry on top, they stained my brand new 2020 Subaru with less than 2000 miles on it.

I chose Custom Sounds because I thought it would be good to help out a local business.I was going to have a new radio put in my truck on Saturday, July 4th. The day before scheduled installation, Marco, the sales guy, called to let me know they did not have the face plate to match my truck. They just now figured that out? I went to the store on Saturday to look at the face plate they did have, but it wasnt a match. Marc, the manager, ordered one for me and I had to pay $60.00 up front to process the order. I was told that it would take 5 to 7 business days to arrive.I went back to the store on July 13th to check on the status of the part. Marc looked up the order and could not find a tracking number, but he did say it was being shipped to the store on San Pedro. Marc promised he would call me the next morning with an update. Guess what, no call!So, I went back to the store again to talk to Marc. He said he was sorry that he didnt call, but he didnt seem sincere. He said the part was coming in on the 17th or 18th, but he wasnt sure about the exact date or time.I told Marc that I wanted to cancel my order and asked for my $60.00 payment back. All he asked me was, You paid cash right?Marc needs more training on customer service. Not once did he ask me what he could do to make me happy, or how he could keep my business.
Exceptional service! Cameron was extremely friendly and welcoming right when we walked in and helped show me some Bluetooth options.He said they were able to install my new Bluetooth same day. So I left to run a few errands, and sure enough, less than 2 hours later, Cameron called to tell me my car was ready.I felt like I was in and out in no time and would highly recommend coming here for any audio/window tinting needs!

I went to this establishment thinking it was going to be like a car dealership (pressuring you into buying)But instead I was welcomed and got to look around instead of someone just hovering around me, when it was time to make a decision, I talked to a young man named Francisco, as old as I am, I really didn’t believe he knew much about car systems but he was very knowledgeable and very helpful in deciding what I want, and what I liked more about my experience was Francisco wasn’t pressuring me to buy anything and he is a social person, We could’ve talked about our cars all day if it wasn’t for my wife nagging to go home lol, all in all, It was a great experience, I recommended coming here and speaking with Francisco.

Excellent customer service from Cameron at the 1604/Braun Rd location. Cameron was helpful and knowledgeable, and he respected my time in front of him throughout the purchase. I wanted to update my girlfriend’s car with a touchscreen/iPod ready receiver, and Cameron recommended the Pioneer AVH-2550NEX. I also told him my girl has been driving around with no tint, and the Texas heat was killing her. Cameron recommended the ceramic tint, although he said “all of them are great products.” He demonstrated the differences in heat dispersion between the tints and I was sold. Cameron just brought my girls car into 2020, and she is thrilled with how her car looks and sounds now. I definitely will be back to this location for future business with Cameron and his team. I live in florida and decided to get a new head unit for my 2016 ford taurus. I wanted wireless car play but every where I looked everybody told me there wasnt a stereo that I wanted that would fit my car. I ran into Mike from custom sounds on Amazon and he told me hes got a stereo thatll fit my wants and itll fit. I was a little, ok a lot skeptical about it because big name online stores said it wasnt possible but he reassured me it would. So I put all my trust in this complete stranger and bought it. It was delivered with days of ordering it and all looked great! I just had it installed today and it fits and is absolutely AMAZING! If your looking for a car stereo go see them you wont be disappointed!

We had a new stereo system with Bluetooth hands-free calling and text capability installed in an older Tundra. Marc, the manager, was very helpful in providing information on the various systems available, keeping in mind our (lack) of technical expertise. The prices were very reasonable, and the system is superior to that of the factory-installed stereo system in my car! Additionally, we bought a rear-view camera, which connected seamlessly with the stereo’s video display.Dennis did the installation of our new system, and he did an excellent job. Nothing looks like it was installed after-market.Marc ensured that we understood how to use the new equipment and welcomed us to call or come by if we needed assistance.In summary, the customer service provided by both Marc and Dennis, and the quality of the products guarantees that we will be repeat customers.

Radio was installed wrong at another place so I took my truck to custom sounds to get a second opinion. Talked to Marc over the phone and he was awesome, he told me to go ahead and come on by so they can take a look at it. They were able to fix everything that was wrong with the radio and it didnt cost me much at all! Cant be happier with custom sounds and the service Marc was able to provide! These guys really take care of you over here and Im definitely not gonna go anywhere else for future purchases!

I got the receiver I was looking for
Went to order simple cheap speakers and receiver. They had to order model specific kit. A week later no kit. They were very apologetic and friendly! Refunded charges no problem. Went to best buy and got same receiver and better speakers with install/kit/parts etc. For $320. Custom sounds wanted $600+? No sure whats up with that!
Very bad experience with custom sounds off 1604. I made an appointment over a week out for 10am on a Saturday and at 5:30pm I called to check on the status since I knew they close at 7pm and they told me my vehicle would be done by the time they closed as they were almost done. I showed up at 7pm since I hadn’t been called and they hadn’t started on it at all, but said they would work late to get it done and have it to me by noon on Sunday. I showed up at 2pm on Sunday as I hadn’t received a call yet. At that time they told me that the remote start and alarm module was for a 2017 and it didn’t work with my 2018. I confirmed with them twice on Saturday and when making the appointment and on the order that it was a 2018. I’m really not sure how they didn’t know that a 2017 module wouldn’t have worked and didn’t even ask if I was okay with them using a 2017 module on my vehicle before breaking my vehicle down and stripping wires. The guy at the store also told me that they had not ever worked on any 2018 vehicles yet. If this was the case why weren’t they just honest in the beginning so I wasn’t without a vehicle for almost two days versus allowing me the opportunity to go somewhere else with my business. They blamed it on low manning. Again why not be honest with your customers as I could have gone somewhere else. These folks are not customer friendly and not completely honest. I had the roll ups tinted as well and that took them 5+ hours when my appointment was at 10am. Be careful using custom sounds off of 1604 in San Antonio. I won’t just gripe. The tint was good after them having it for two days. I was going to take my wife’s vehicle for tinting, but I will find a more reputable place.
In short. Custom Sounds sucks. I will be more than happy to show anyone their cradtsmanship. They did a number on my truck. Hissing speakers, non-working bass knob, non-attached bass knob (just dangling under dash), and now tweeters arent working. I will eat this one. But if I can help anyone else from making the same mistake I did, I will show you their quality of work and you can make an informed decision.
1 customer when I walked in I looked around as I waited. Was told they would be with me momentarily... customer left 5 minutes later someone else walked in they acted as if I didnt exist I walked out. Month later (last week) I called spoke with Nick he sounded enthusiastic about helping me. Said call the following day, I called left message....never got a call back...they never need to worry about me bugging them again.
Customer service was on point here. The plethora of speakers they have is mind boggling. Its always nice to check out the sweet red Dodge viper that have on display. Its great to know that they have a location here now.
I went into store to look at radios, speakers and alarms for my Chevy Silverado. The manager Marc Robles helped me out. I was very impressed how knowledgeable he was. He was also so polite and professional. He was patient and answered my questions that I had. He took the time to show me and explain the difference type of speakers, amps, radios and alarms. He gave me great customer service!!!! I asked a lot of questions cause I hadn’t played with speakers, amps or radios since high school and I felt very comfortable talking to him because he listened to me and answered all my questions. You don’t get this kind of customer service anywhere now these days. It’s good to see places like custom sounds still have employee with great customer service. I diffentely will buy my stereo, speakers and amp from this place because of Marc Robles.

I wanted tint and saw this new-ish buisiness On 1604, so I went in to check them out. I had a great experience! They worked within my budget, gave me options and had my car completed when they said it would be. The work they did was very good! The tint warrant is really good! I recommend!
I decided to upgrade the audio setup on my 2017 Sonata Sport and visited a few places. Custom Sounds had a way better selection and variety of quality audio components at very competitive prices (I checked). What sealed it for me was their staff. Marc went above and beyond the reps from the other stores. He learned my listening habits and analyzed the acoustics of my car. He took extra time in the demo to show me a variety of options based on my budget. I ultimately took his recommendation of Focal PS 165FX in the front, Focal 165AC in the rear doors, two 10 JL subs in the trunk, an Infinity Kappa 5 amp and a bad to the bone audio controller to connect my stock deck. Then Marc did what no other store did, he covered the installation process from A to Z along with the door damper option. At the pickup reveal, I met Dennis, the installation technician. He tuned everything to perfection and the sound is powerful (at all volume levels), crisp, clear, full, dynamic and amazing. These guys knocked it out of the park!!!
They honor their warranty, great customer service. Theyll hear you out and are understanding towards your misfortune. They dont try to hustle you, like some of the branches of the custom sounds franchises does in San Antonio. Youll walk out not feeling cheated.

Worst service I have seen! I purchased a radio and specifically asked their return policy, simple, 14 days, unopened box. I went to return it a week later (this place is not easy to get to during the week with my work schedule, and not close to my home either) and was told we dont do returns on Sunday. The kid was rude, had way to much power and showed no remorse when I explained to him the difficulty I had getting there. His only response was that he did not sell me the stereo and that he wasnt going to bother his manager (Regional Manager by the way) on a Sunday. The story goes on from there, but needless to say, this location and the people running it, suck! Im only giving one star because I have to choose that in order to post this.

Agreed to buy overpriced amp and sub woofer. Within a couple of months the sub woofer blew out. I contacted CS and asked about the warranty they told me that they would take it out send it to the manufacturer and they would repair or replace it. Really! If its within 2 months wouldnt you think they replace it and you wait on the manufacturer to deal with CS? Just because the building is pretty and you pay way more than one should doesnt mean they stand behind what they sell!

Considering I didnt have the work done I cant speak to the quality but I can speak to service selection and prices. Bottom line shop around if your on yelp pay attention to the reviews and you will find several quality and qualified installers willing to offer a customer a fair market price...ex...I was just quoted a rearview backup camera mirror...installed for $847.00. To put in perspective I was quoted a complete head unit replacement /upgrade to NEX4201 with steering wheel control sirrus/xm and back up camera $1100. That is the flagship pioneer headunit...my advice buyer beware, read the yelp and Google reviews and shop around and shop local. My advice to Custom Sound...put some effort in selling the product. Why should I pau $800+ what does the camera do for me demo it for me YouTube the reviews for me how does it compare to other cameras. Also what was the remote control for? I still dont know...I asked...why dont I know? Custom Sound I was the only customer in the shop your staff was jaw jacking among them self and they diffently appeared disinterested and bored. Hire better or train better...my 2cent
