This coffee shop had a calm feel with inside and covered outside seating. The prices were reasonable. Theres a specials/seasonal menu to the left of the cash register so check that for anything new. They have baked goods as well. They were a little busy but very quick. My ham and egg croissant breakfast sandwich came out delicious. It was on a real plate. The drink came in a real glass. I tried the caramel pumpkin latte, which was good. I never felt rushed or bothered. Theres a little spot at the door with napkins and such. I visited on a weekday.

The backyard patio is a nice place to sit. The food and service on the other hand were both terribly poor. My scrambled eggs were not scrambled but looked like a plastic crepe, the potatoes were terribly salty, and I nor my party could eat them. We asked for water twice and the waitress never came. I had to get up and bring water for all of us. I so much wanted this cute coffee place to be in my repertoire. Staff needs to be better trained and cook as well.

Place is amazing! The coffee was above average reaching for extraordinary. My husband had 2 cups of French press and was upset that we couldn’t stay longer. Definitely great way to start a quiet lazy Sunday. Can’t wait for our next San Antonio trip to see them again. Thank y’all so much!

I sure do love me some good coffee spots & this one did not let me down. I kept it simple getting the Cortado & boy (or girl) did those espresso shots have such a smooth, not too bitter taste to them! I didnt try any food this time around but from what I saw their I cant wait to try their sweet & savory items! They also have an alcohol menu so if you need an extra kick with that caffeine theres the option. The woman who assisted was very friendly as well as efficient at her job. All this together makes me excited to come back for more!

Great local coffee shop, always delicious, always consistent. Local roaster. My only complaint is they dont always have my favorite roast in stock. But, cant blame them for being popular. :-) Thanks for being my go to coffee shop!

If you like frappes and sweet drinks, I recommend the Ice Chai Tea Melange. They have tasty breakfast, too! Indoor and outdoor seating and minutes from San Pedro Park if youd like to take your food and coffee to go for a nice picnic outdoors.

Lox bagel and sweet cream pumpkin iced coffee were DELICIOUS! I will definitely be coming back. The service was wonderful as well. Definitely give this place a try.

Very nice people, eager to please. Comfortable with good patio. Decent selection of coffee, tea, beer, wine, and food (which aint easy to do in small space).When the previous wave of employees left, the barista skills and artistic finesse did a nose-dive, and the music changed to horrible whiny bass thumping R&B that would make Otis and Aretha throw up in their coffins.However, one of the old employees did come back, and if you go on the right days, you can enjoy a really good cappuccino and some groovin tunes. Hopefully this will raise the bar, and eventually better taste will prevail.

A delightful part of the neighborhood. Delicious hot coffee made from San Antonio Coffee Repeaters beans. Light tasty muffins like little cakes. A terrific, professional, friendly, and attentive staff. Makes my mornings.

Found this trendy little jewel this past Saturday. They have a nice variety of desserts/pastries. And good variety of lunch food. We went mid-day. Took a little long for a salad, bagel w/Lox and a ham, egg with cheese Croissant. Food was very flavorful. The coffee hit the spot. As we got our order, they did not offer us no eating utensils, napkins or a carry-out bag. We had to ask. And at mid-day, on a rainy Saturday they had no take out bags. But the coffee & food was well worth it.

I went there and its super affordable and really cozy! The staff was nice and patient since I knew nothing about coffee lol. I got an iced caramel latte and a hot caramel latte. The designs were cute and they served it with a smile. 11/10 recommend going there for a warm and welcoming atmosphere and great coffee.

Philo is the perfect place to get some work done with a coffee by my side or to get lunch with friends. Their scones are delicious! The coffee is also reasonably priced.

Its a very small hidden cafe. Didnt really know where to park. There are tables on the outside but the bushes are so high it doesnt feel like a cafe, more like a backyard garden hideout.

Nice place, clean bathrooms, parking is confusing. Not sure where to park when you get there. It is mainly a college kid place. Prices are kinda high. It is a nice chill place to go to.

I came here thinking I was getting something advertised on IG by a foodie in town, instead the avocado toast came with 2 less ingredients from.what was on the menu and latte was not made with color due to the barrista not knowing how to make it. Food and latte were still very good. But was dissappointed to make a far drive to experience something that was not available. :(

Comforting and quaint little coffee shop in Alta Vista, SA. Offers a great variety of coffee and espresso drinks, as well as several delicious options for breakfast and/or lunch. I have been here multiple times over the months and the staff has always been very welcoming and super informative about the menu. They have this point system that allows you to accumulate points thru text or email to collect toward free items.

Coffee was the best. When I come I never want to leave. Everything is soooo good. Love they had pescatarian options. Dont forget to ask to add color in your latte!!! Super cute. Love it!!!!

The workers need to not wake&bake so hard in the morning, I can see yalls glazed over eyes and spaced out looks. I went there with a friend to get coffees, pasteries, and a sandwich. Got the coffee relatively quick except that afterwards they continuously got other peoples orders after me ready. 15 minutes pass and I havent even gotten the one blueberry muffin I asked for. I reminded them, they FOROGOT ABOUT MY FOOD, another 15 minutes pass and I get the sandwich. Still no pasteries yet, I have to stand right in front of their faces and stare at the woman who took my order and keeps making eye contact with me physically run out the store and avoid, 35 minutes after I come in, I get my all my food but my coffee was all watered down by that point. Their food is WAY OVERPRICED for the kind of service and food they offer. Not worth a single $ 👎

So...this was my first ever color latte, I didnt notice that it altered the taste of the coffee at all but I would have to say it was a strange feeling drinking a purple colored coffee! Im not sure Ill jump at drinking them on a regular basis but it was fun to try!If your looking to branch out and try something funky I suggest giving it a go!

This place is everything that is good about coffee shops- quaint, intimate feel with outdoor seating and indoor seating tha makes sense in the age of Covid. Baristas who know how to pull a shot and who are sweet as all get out. Bring cash because chances are youll get a second cup and wish you had it to leave a proper tip.

The space has plenty of seating options despite the cozy building size.The location is the best - high atop Alta Vista with generous street parking right near SAC. Cozy atmosphere but with all the staff they had working, my coffee took too long to make and it was luke warm. But with anything, Ill still be back to try their all day mimosas.

I dont know why people are giving this place a high rating. The service is horrendous and they lost our ticket. People that ordered after us got their food before we did. I dont even know if I got the coffee I ordered but it was not great or what I was expecting. We will never come back to this place.

Love the retro atmosphere and selection of great beans. They brew whats brewing beans that are some of the best around. When in monte vista, I highly recommend stopping in.

Many independent coffee shops have the goods but this stuff is stellar!The lox bagel with whipped cream cheese, capers, and fresh dill is truly one of the best foods I have ever had. Okay, Im a fan. Coffee shops should have good, black coffee. Some spots in this city just dont, they burn their beans or their coffee is weak. This place has good, strong coffee that isnt bitter.Pros:Shop is clean, decor is simple and appealing.Location is a plus, this area hasnt had a coffee shop since PRESS.Again, good coffee.No problems parking.Staff was super friendly.Con:Only suggestion I could think of is considering adding a table inside for like a group of people or a study group kind of spot. I personally like the bars but could see some students from the nearby unis using a study group space.

A coffee house that attracts the sexy crowd but with less pretensions than a Starbucks and an atmosphere that is Texas outdoorsy. Southwestern. Prices as expected. Ordered a coffee with espresso. Sandwiches tasted of cleaner used on the griddle. Small portions for what we paid. They present a charming picture, but the croissants dont look anything like that. The croissant was cooked unrecognizable.

I’ve been coming here for over a year, multiple times a week and I get a Melange with a milk sub every time. Today was the first time I was informed that the Melange powder has dairy in it. Huge disappointment for me.
