Most times, the employees don’t care or aren’t helpful.However, Christopher Riley at this shop is SO helpful and exceeded what expectations I had. He made GREAT recommendations and broke down the prices for me I detail. He made it easy to understand what insurance covered and what it didn’t and did not make me read between the lines! I have no idea how to pick out frames, and I have no idea what looks good, what is fashionable - I dread choosing new glasses. Kayley made this an extremely fun and comfortable experience. She chose 50 or so frames and helped me sort through why I like and don’t like them - helping me understand what looks best, but also allowing me to decide what makes me feel best! I spent a fun 2 hours with her - she had amazing patience and personality - just what I needed. Kayley helped me pick a pair that I never would have picked on my own - she guided me in a new direction which I appreciate - was looking for change but did not know how to do on my own! I am excited for my new look. Exceptional customer service is hard to find, and it is always a joy to experience. I called in to schedule an appointment and they were so rude to me on the phone. I just got new insurance that DOES cover an eye check up, so when they asked for my insurance I gave it to them. Then the woman on the line snapped back, does this cover your vision or do you have a third party insurance? Im just like, Yes I believe so... I asked her to schedule for Tuesday at 4pm. She repeated Tuesday at 4? I said yes. But when they call was finished she said okay I have you down for MONDAY at 4pm. I didnt want to fight with this lady cause she was so rude already so I agreed and made plans to be there.Im working Monday but I get off work as soon as I can to get there at 4pm. Im able to get there at 4:13pm and when I walk in the receptionist tells me that Im past the 10 minute deadline and my appointment is cancelled. Never once was I told this not even in the reminder text that they sent the day before that confirmed my appointment. So I left. I didnt even want to reschedule with these people. Just not nice at all, very rude and I wont be going back.
Kayley helped me to upgrade my lenses, get an economical backup pair, and most importantly expertly navigate my insurance to maximize benefits. Shes awesome! Highly recommend taking a look and seeing for yourself.
It took remaking the glasses 3 times before they got it right. They don’t want to measure when you wear bifocals... they prefer to “guess” the measurements! Who the heck trains people to be this uneducated about making glasses 👓... seriously need to shop elsewhere not here... ridiculous to have to wait 3 months before you get a pair of glasses that are only mediocre and have to pay lots of money for them! Never ever shopping here again!

They had to remake my glasses 3 times. They are still not wearable and I spent nearly $350... they refuse to measure you for your bifocals and instead try to guess. When I insisted they measure, they only measured 1 eye... seriously screwed up protocol... they need to fire these people

We visited the store on Sunday 10/6 and Kayley was awesome. She was extremely friendly and helpful. She helped us with an issue and knew exactly what to do to fix my glasses. We definitely will be asking for her the next time we need glasses.
I had the best experience and service at this location. Kayley was amazing with helping me figure out the best way to price out lenses for frames I was buying from a third party and my current frames. Helpful service and very friendly. I’ve had glasses for many years, and over the years no one bothered to even see if our insurance covered the cost of the glasses. They helped us out a lot, and helped us realize that our insurance does pay for part of the glasses.
Visionworks is apparently the “preferred” provider by VSP, it is FAR from preferred in my book! We visited Visionworks on 11/9. My daughter wears progressive lenses, and her current pair of glasses broke. We decided to take her prescription to Visionworks to get her a new pair of glasses. We completed the process on 11/9, and today is 11/29th, and we still have NO GLASSES. We were assured that the glasses could be done in 7 days, and would be cut by their lab since my daughter wears progressives.After SEVERAL phone calls in the past few weeks to the store to check on the status of my daughters glasses, we are still in the dark! We have been told the manufacturer lost her frames, and they had to overnight a new pair, we’ve been told that the lab is just “backed up” due to their current promotion, we have been told on 11/26 that the glasses received their final coating, and would be shipped out the same day, overnight, and as I just got off of the phone with the store, I got yet ANOTHER story! This is week 3 of my daughter having to make due without her glasses, and we still can not get any accurate information from the store.I am disappointed in the lack of communication, and lack of urgency to clarify where the glasses actually are. As I mentioned, Visionworks was a preferred provider for our Vision Plan and our experience has been nothing short of frustrating and inexcusable. For a company that boasts about the importance of satisfactory customer service, they have absolutely missed the mark! I would not ever recommend them to anyone, in fact I feel I may need to spread the word, our precautionary tale.So better, Visionworks. Do BETTER

This store is a very conscientious. They are all very knowledgeable and seem to be able to do correct adjustments when needed to my glasses. I am a hard one to fit. If there are any problems it is quickly resolved. The GM Marissa Colfry is very friendly and orientated in making every visit a positive experience. The BEST Customer Service Ive received from a Visionworks in a long time; everyone at the location has done a Wonderful Job thus far but I would like to give special props to both Cindy and Jake for going above and beyond with their professionalism, friendliness, and especially patience! I wear Progressives and have had an ongoing need for having my glasses 👓 adjusted to find the sweet spot wear I can see properly at all three distances; and not once that I have stopped-in/ visited have I felt ignored; rushed; or like Im not important! And please note, I even bought my glasses at another location but still was treated like I had been their customer from the start! Honestly, they listened; even re-measured my glasses; and encouraged me to come back as often as I needed to make it right! Original post on August 20th, 2012: I came in to get some new glasses so I could pass my next eye exam to renew my license and to see better...I initially came in to get the two pair for $99 but walked out spending much more for a great designer frame with upgraded lenses. The staff was great - and theyll be my stop for years to come. They have a great selection at great prices; and its worth your time!UPDATE: on August 23rd 2013, I walked into the store because one of my lenses had been damaged. The sales team was excellent and understanding and thanks to the insurance program I had to pay $30 for insurance, plus a $20 copay and they fixed my old pair of glasses so that I could see and in about 7 to 10 days I will be receiving a brand new set of frames and two brand new lenses. For originally spending $479 on one pair of glasses that was a drop in the bucket and I have to say thank you to the entire team at Visionworks. If youre going to get your glasses done somewhere I urge you to go to this location they are friendly, there fast, and they know exactly what theyre doing. They will find a pair of glasses that will fit your face correctly so that everything is symmetrical so that for example you dont have a chubby face you dont have a square face so on and so forth. Its worth your time to stop in I would give them 5 stars all day long if there were more I would do so. Thank you vision works I trust you and I will be a customer for life.
I was in a serious pickle when I found out my boss nearly ruined his glasses by sleeping on them all night. Needless to say he is not a small man. When I called the Visionworks at La Cantera panicking, Marissa not only tracked down his old info and helped me purchase a new backup pair, but she somehow repaired his mangled pair back to new. Marissa is my hero! She was so understanding, professional and on top of things. Also, when leaving I received a warm goodbye from all the other employees! I’m elated at receiving such amazing customer service, and I highly recommend the Visionworks at La Cantera!

I take my eye prescription to Visionworks La Cantera because my insurance accepts them, the store is only 10 minutes from work, and its located near Dillards where theres always open parking during the day, easy in easy out. Not as bad as I expected. Ive also gone back several times because they can turn lenses like tables at restaurants, hour tops! at least for me..I will say. the staff was very good at being conversational and consultative, i got the sense that they enjoy the company of their customers, but im also pretty friendly so no surprise there. I dont know anything about lens talk, but all that matters to me is: anti-glare or bust. Big shout out to Cindy B. who handled my work, and Marissa who was backing Cindy up since she was busy taking care of me. I later picked up that Marissa was the GM by glancing at her name tag as I shook her hand on the way out. Love my glasses, love my lenses, and the staff was so nice, im here writing a review about it. Cheers!
I came in this afternoon with glasses that had been bent from being sat on. Mr. Creech not only put the lenses back in the frames and straightened these frames, but managed to arrange the right temple piece so that it did not hurt. This has been a problem with almost every pair of glasses I have had. Mr. Creech deserves very high praise.
This THE worst experience we have EVER had with an Optical provider! They messed up the prescription & it took well over 2 weeks to receive everything. Wait upon wait only to have to wait another hour in the store to pick up a set of glasses (still waiting on contacts) and they took people ahead of us on the “wait list”. We are filing a complaint with our insurance company and will not be back! Save your time and your money and go to Costco!

So I actually went to “RCP Eyecare” for my eye exam, which is right next door to Visionworks. The receptionist there is very sweet and welcoming. Her name I believe is Victoria! She is the perfect match there, she has great customer service and made my experience there amazing. I then went to Visionworks, where I was then assisted by Colt. Colt is a good associate who represents the company well. As I was searching for glasses, he would check up on me every once in a while to make sure everything was ok. I would recommend both places. Prices are also reasonable.

This is my first time writing BAD review about a business.Where do I start? I originally walked in before my eye exam next door and a friendly associate Cynthia quoted me for polycarbonate anti glare lenses for about $130 and can be done in about an hour.Cool, so I get my eye exam next door and come back. Cynthia is gone and a girl in blue glasses helps me out. We sit, I tell her I want the anti glare lenses cut for pre existing frames. She upsells me to some “smart tech” lens that she says is about a $20 price difference that I was ok with.A few mins after on her computer she comes to the total of $277. $277? For lenses that I need cut for an already existing frame? It sounds excessive and I knew this because I had been getting quoted around town about $110-130 for this same service but chose to go to VISIONWORKS since it was next to the optometrist...She also gave me this long reasoning as to why they didn’t have my prescption lens in stock at their store. Which only became funny to me after calling a few other optical stores and two places chuckled and told me how common my prescription is.So TO TOP IT OFF. I told her that I’d like to take some time to shop around I wasn’t comfortable paying $277 for those lenses, and apologized if I wasted her time. (Came on an empty Friday afternoon btw) she replied to me that “it’s a free country” ..........Wow. It’s one thing to be trained to upsell I knowingly walked into a retail location and can understand that! However to be rude or make me feel bad for not wanting to spend an excessive amount on some lenses is not cool and I will NEVER purchase from a store who is cultured to act like that to a friendly and apologetic customer. BUYER BEWARE do your homework and shop around ! Never feel pressured to purchase somewhere if it doesn’t feel right, because she was right... this is a free county.

Elderly dark haired lady who worked yesterday is clearly lacking in customer service. Treats people like cattle in line and condescending for people who come in for questions. Could not believe the attitude and confrontational behavior toward customers. Will not return will never recommend unless you enjoy abusive conduct because thats what you get there.

Can I give this place less than a start! Worst customer service ever. The doctor got my prescription wrong.. they called to confirm my follow up appointment and then called and rescheduled my follow up appointment... then we I arrive they inform me I was suppose to be wearing my contacts, which they didnt communicate up front... and we I had to reschedule my follow to my follow since my rx was wrong... It was an inconvenience to them. This is all the doctors office... the other side where you get your glasses were somewhat decent.
