I was in the market for a MONO M80 acoustic guitar bag and after trying to buy from a couple of different sites and them being sold out, I finally came across this guitar shop. I placed the order on a Saturday, and although they’re closed from Sat-Mon, it arrived the following Friday. Super fast shipping and in perfect condition. For those reasons alone, I highly recommend this shop.

When I walked into Lark Guitars I was impressed that their shop was very clean and organized. They have all the gear you can imagine to get the job done! What did it for me was their customer service. I’ve been to plenty of Music Stores and none compete with Lark Guitars. They will greet and take care of any of your questions or concerns. They stop what they’re doing to help YOU. And don’t force or push you to buy anything. That right there makes me go back. Check them out.

First, I want to start off by stating that I have visited quite a few guitar shops in San Antonio and Lark’s is at the top tier for purchasing a high-end guitar. I went in yesterday to “browse” the gallery and I ended walking away with a beautiful Mayones, Hydra. The shop currently operates by appointments, for COVID safety measures, and to allow a great customer shopping experience. The environment is super cool and laid back—they even allow you to hang out with the shop dog, Mesa. The staff was beyond knowledgeable, allowed me as a customer to explore different options, and really strayed away from “pushy” sales tactics; they’re extremely patient with questions and go above and beyond to find the right guitar for you and the right set up. This isn’t your globo guitar star, these guys are in the business providing top-end guitars, and if you want to step up to quality builds, make sure to allow these guys to earn your business.

I’ll start off with saying that I’ve been a customer of Lark Guitars for about a year and a half now. I’ve purchased a few amps, cab and guitar from them. They have the best selection of boutique amps and custom shop guitars from every top manufacturer, that’s why I always came back.Well since my experience had always been pretty good with buying equipment, I went ahead and had them do some repairs on one of my vintage Fender guitars. I took them my 1982 ‘57 reissue Stratocaster, which is my main player.Albert from the shop was very helpful with explaining how the repairs process worked and even gave some helpful suggestions. At this point, I felt pretty confident about it being in good hands.Upon getting the guitar I noticed several improvements such as fret and crown work. The neck however still didn’t seem to feel right. I asked them about it and they assured me that it was good to go.Long story short, I ended up taking the guitar to another Guitar Tech and he found that a business card was used as a shim over the preferred method of wood shims.I reached out to Lark Guitars to explain the situation and my disappointment. They recently got back to me to with a very sincere apology and explained how they have addressed this issue with their tech and made the necessary changes to those repair methods. That went a long way for me and because of their professionalism, I will continue to be a customer. Excellent conflict resolution and still the best shop in San Antonio!

I bought a Mesa Fillmore 50 head & Cab from Lark in mid september. I am over in Houston, and had it shipped. This was my first purchase from Lark, but wanted to support a local shop for this purchase. Upon receipt, it was determined the reverb tank in the head was faulty. I called Lark and they contacted Mesa and had a new one shipped out to me. Great customer service and a superbly fine product! Now that I am familiar with Lark, I also see they have a great selection of PRS guitars, I will most certainly be back in the future for my next purchase!

Lark guitars keeps popping up when Im shopping on reverb and searching for dealers of the gear Im interested in.I was very happy that I was able to stop into Lark while in town visiting family unexpectedly this week. I only had about 30 minutes to stop in, and it definitely wasnt enough to really soak it all in. I was able to try out a couple pedals I havent seen in the wild before, and left with a great new Fuzz from Spaceman.Love the pedal table they have set up - Just about all their pedals on one large table which makes it easy to figure out which ones you want to try and compare. I havent seen that before, and I like the opportunity to see it all at once and to be able to get a feel for them without having to ask someone to dig a bunch of different pedals out of a case. They have some pretty rare pedals you wont see in most guitar stores, as well.Speaking of rare. They also have some absolutely amazing guitars hanging in the shop that you just wont see most places. Wood Library 509s, Burled Suhr Ts, Mayones, Nik Huber (including a Cadillac Green Rietbergen that just looks the business), and a heck of a lot more. I need to set aside a couple hours and some $$$ for the next time I make it into town - and do quite a bit more practicing.Clint was super-helpful and nice, and left me on my own to try out some pedals along with a very sweet (and very light) Tom Anderson T Icon, but came right back around when he could hear I was done noodling. Bonus points for checking if I am ok with dogs before letting in the shop dog, Mesa. (The answer is always yes!) She was also awesome.Even better news is that when I next come across Lark Guitars on Reverb, or on late-night google gear hunts, I will feel very comfortable ordering from them.

I ordered a guitar from this seller via Amazon. After I ordered, they decided they didn’t like the price after all so they canceled my order. The $30 they chose not to eat on a $400 purchase has bought them a 1-star review.Now to deal with the headache of disputing the charge that is still on my Amazon card and order from somewhere else that will honor the posted price and not cancel after the fact.

The store is beautiful, they have a great selection of gear, and the staff are attentive without making you feel pressured. Love this place!

Horrible customer service, owner got defensive when I asked to send a replacement tube for a faulty power tube in an amp purchased through this store. They did NOT disclose the faulty tube prior to purchase. Would not shop here again. Would give 0 stars if possible.Edit after 2 years of owning my paperweight Deluxe Reverb I finally got it fixed. Every tube was fried and it cost $300 in repairs. The owner failed to mention that this amp needed such extensive repairs. The definition of a scam. Horrible store, pretentious scammer owner.

Simply the nicest feeling store, with the kindest owner Ive ever experienced at a guitar shop in Johnny. Yes, this is a shop for the serious player and maybe not suitable for those looking at the intermediate price or lower, but if you want fantastic service and unbelievable selection this is by far the best guitar shop Ive ever been to in San Antonio in over 20 years of dedicated playing. Johnny even allowed me the treat of playing one of his own personal instruments, I couldnt be happier with my interaction. Although I did not buy an instrument today, service like this makes me definitely consider doing so in the future, which cant be said for online retailers like Sweetwater. Cheers!

Absolutely hands down best place to buy anything guitar related. They accommodated me even with Covid-19 going on and without appointment. Set me up with few guitars to try, all the employees knew their stuff and had plenty of advice to offer on selecting one that fit my needs not just pushing to make a sale. Answered all my questions and had awesome attitudes and customer service. Walked away with a beautiful PRS and accessories and heart full of excitement. Larks is definitely my store. Check them out.

So first off, got checked up on a lot when I was testing out a guitar. That was really my only complaint the staff were helpful and helped me get the best bang for my buck. This is definitely a shop for avid guitar players to go and I will gladly return when I purchase my next guitar.

Very pretentious owners and staff. I was perusing the guitars with my friend and the owner was playing in the guitar room, didn’t stop to ask us how we are or if we needed anything. Walked to the front and mentioned to the clerk that I was looking for a guitar no more than $500 (I’m not spending $2k on my first guitar, no way). As soon as I mentioned that he conveniently answered a call and was on the phone in front of us, knowing we wanted help, for the next 15 minutes. Throughout this the owner did not help once. It’s very clear that all this shop cares about is the $$$ and not helping their customers.

Bought a Mono case from them on Reverb that I really needed by a specific date, and they promised they would drop it off at UPS that day. They didn’t drop it off until the next day, then lied about it to cover it up. The UPS store confirmed that they didn’t drop it off until the next day.They have not attempted to make this right and have ignored many of my messages requesting to resolve this issue.EDIT: The response to this review was the first communication from Lark after 10 days of ignoring my message. Reverb has not ruled in favor of anyone in this case, and the case is still open.Lark: All of this will go away if you just provide a copy of the drop off slip from UPS. I dont see why this is so difficult for yall. I am offering a solution where you keep all $330 of my money, I delete my negative reviews, and I close the case with Reverb. All I want is a photocopy.

Excellent store with amazing selection of quality guitars, amps, and pedals. Service was excellent. The salesman hooked up multiple amps for me to try and provided good recommendations based on my description of needs. The store has lots of space and is clean and has an very friendly atmosphere.

First and only time in the shop I got checked up on like a child 3 times within 15 minutes while trying out a guitar. I am 31 and a music teacher with over 20 years experience playing guitar. Maybe the employees were bored because there was nobody else in the store. It gives a cold “don’t touch these expensive materials” museumesque feel inside. Maybe If you dress like you make 6+ figures a year they might treat you with respect, sadly. Gave one star because some of the gear was nice *looking* ( since I only got to test one guitar before getting rushed out ). Overall this establishment represents the antithesis of what I believe playing music is about.

Many employees have come and gone here and at the old location. A lot of high level arrogance happening here ...almost as high as some of the prices. Good variety of gear though, and not every person who works here has this issue. Nice to have a store like this in San Antonio.

These guys ordered me a custom 2x12 Mesa speaker cabinet and let me make payments. They were great to work with. I want to do more business with them in the future.

All I can say is wow.... The selection of guitars, amps and accessories is amazing. Staff was very friendly and attentive.. Im not a great guitar player but man the staff treated me like I was a rockstar.. Will be buying from them in thw future.

This is the best guitar store I have ever been to! To qualify my review I would just like to mention I have been to probably 50 plus guitar shops including very well reviewed stores in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix and even some in Canada. This is by and far the best! Ridiculously good selection of boutique amps, guitar effects, electric guitars and bass guitars. The customer service was incredible. I was helped as soon as I walked into the store. They set up a pedal board for me filled with pedals I wanted to try, and let me plug in to the best sounding amp I have ever played (Tone King Sky King). The guys working there were really chill and left me alone to try everything out for as long as I needed. I ended up purchasing a new overdrive pedal and maybe one day will return for the Sky King. Thanks again Lark Guitars! Would consider making the drive from Phoenix, AZ just to visit this shop again!

I have to been guitar shops all over the country that my 15yr. old drags me to. I must say, every item I hear him talking about, can be found at this shop. I have never seen a pedal selection so large in one spot! The amp selection is huge to! It is like every boutique store you can imagine on steroids. I think he liked the guitar and bass selection better than Chicago music exchange! The guys who run it are awesome too!

Overpriced for what they sell..and they dont have any lefty stuff (does ANY place in San Antonio have any lefty stuff, a this point...NOPE!).....Order your stuff online...WAY cheaper for the same name and model stuff they sell here....The employees are always too busy playing on their computers to come help you. Youll pretty much walk the entire store by yourself while they all surf the web.They do have comfy couches though..

50% rude staff. 50% very decent staff. Prices are through the roof expensive. Good place to shop if you have money and its not something you worry about.

I bought an amp from them years ago and that was a good experience, but this trumps all. I was gifted a case from them for Christmas and it was the wrong one. According to their return policy (not a great policy, but that doesnt count)they didnt technically owe me anything, but he gave me store credit and let me get an obscure pedal that they wouldnt have ever stocked. That pedal was on backorder and I got it in May after starting this process in December.Thats jam up service. Not many people or businesses would follow through on something after 5 months. Theyll let you try stuff out and will not harass you.I went in and played nearly all their Gibson acoustics. Fantastic selection of great guitars, and its super nice of them to let me try them out. Nice place, but staff insisted to help me to take the guitar off the wall even it is very easy to get. And they obviously dont have enough people to serve all of customer at the same time.

I have been searching high and low for the perfect gift for my fiances birthday. He is a really talented shredder (lead guitarist) and has a couple of dream guitars. One of them is Yngwie Malmsteens guitar, which he recently got himself and the other is David Gilmour of Pink Floyd.Well, the second dream guitar is a custom design that is extremely expensive. I havent been able to find one reasonably priced. However, I did find one that was in mint condition online that was marked down slightly.I worked with a guy named Clint Franzen online haggling over the price. He was friendly and we negotiated a really good deal. He shipped the guitar right away and my fiance received it yesterday.He played it with the biggest smile on his face. He is very pleased with his new baby. I couldnt be happier when I see him smile like that. So, thank you, Lark Guitars, and especially to Clint for making it so easy.The guitar is in pristine condition and the transaction from beginning to end was first class. I will definitely be a loyal customer and highly recommend you.

Sales Vince offered a price for a guitar and I paid, then the next day they refunded. When i called them and ask why, they told me the owner wants charge a higher price for that guitar. Wont do business again for people can not keep their words.
