What a refreshing Optometry experience! Ive been to a few offices in San Diego and I have definitely found my Optometry home! The staff just seemed so fun and inviting, Dr. Langford continues to impress me with her knowledge of eye health and pathologies, and Im a nurse who has a lot of experience being around optometrist! The office is a cool space that doesnt feel sterile or bland like traditional doctors offices. If they are accepting new I definitely recommend getting in here!

I rarely write reviews but I was so satisfied with Family Vision Care I just had to. My experience was great. Everyone was extremely professional and friendly. They are doing a great job at sanitizing everything to make it safe for everyone. I saw Dr. Sneag he was very helpful and informative explained everything to me. I was helped by Julia for my glasses and shes was great. Both Dr. Sneag and Julia did not try to upsale me and Julia even helped me find a really cute pair of glasses completely covered by my insurance! First time I walk out of an optometrist office feeling 100% satisfied. Definitely recommend them!

My 4 year old had an outstanding visit at Family Vision Care. When I initially called they were scheduling 6 weeks out, but they put me on a cancellation list and they called later the same day and were able to get me in the following week. Very clean and strict precautions for COVID. Staff was all very nice and helpful. The Optometrist was great and explained all of the tests, what they meant, listened to my concerns and took the time to explain everything. My daughter loved seeing a magic trick and it was such a great experience. I wish I knew about this place sooner!

Extremely friendly and welcoming staff and environment.the staff gave great directions and were very professional. They have state of the art machinery and testing that makes the exam easier for everyone. The pictures of the nerves and eye are amazing to look at when Doctor reviews them with you. I have not had an exam in 6 years and they made it stress free and easy. The staff is helpful from beginning to end and they do not pressure you to purchase anything They have a great selection and some really nice value deals as well. Will definitely be returning here again and bringing my family here in the future. Highly recommended!!

Dr. Sneag is the best and most professional eye doctor Ive ever had, and Ive been wearing glasses and/or contacts most of my adult life. He is an absolute expert in his field and shares every bit of his extensive knowledge with his patients. He cares more about the patient than making money and will steer you away from unnecessary expenses. His staff is amazing!!! Even during the COVID Pandemic closure, they all worked from home, going out of their way to take care of patients. They continued the same level of care and called to remind me that I was due for my annual exam. Even though they were not able to do the exam due to the mandated closure of the office, they reached out to me on their own to let me know that they could place my contact order for me remotely. The practice worked directly with the contact company to arrange for contact orders to be filled without the required eye exams. And sent directly to my home expedited. Sarah was so kind and professional. She was doing all of this from her home, everyone in the office was. Thats what I call SERVICE THAT GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND. I was loyal before because of how wonderful the entire practice is, but now I am personally grateful and amazed at how far they will go to continue to earn my loyalty. Im a patient for life, my whole family...and I would sincerely recommend them to you.

It is always a pleasure to visit Family Vision Care. Everyone in the office is great, and Dr. Sneag is amazing, very caring, always takes time to understand the patients needs and explain everything. I have been going to Family Vision Care for a few years now - for my eye exams and for glasses. They have a great selection of frames and lenses, I am always very happy with my experience at family Vision Care.

Every one there at family vision is awesome! From the front desk to the assistant in the lab everyone treats me with respect and extreme professionalism. I don’t know where to begin. I have never been to get my eyes checked, at 34 it was time and I just went here because it was so close to home. I then brought my 3 year old in because of the phenomenal experience I had. I cannot stress how every single staff member I came I to contact with was the best customer service I have ever received at a doctors office, hands down no question.

My experience at Family Vision Care was trouble free and easy. The receptionist was knowledgeable about what was and wasn’t covered by my insurance. The Doctor was efficient and friendly and I got in and out with contacts in no time. I have an optometrist in the family (in another state) so I can tell when the exam is properly and swiftly done. My experience in this office is exactly what it should be..friendly, professional and affordable. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I remember this place over two decades ago and had a great experience decided to call them because all of a sudden I started seeing floaters across my vision I ended up having an appointment with Dr. Lanford and she was incredible if I could give her six stars I would very professional you can tell she loves her job this is a place you can trust that theyll take care of you and never lead you astray.The verdict as far as my eyes were concerned was with age these things occur nothing to be alarmed about eventually they subside I feel blessed it was only that and not something worse.

I have not had an eye exam since childhood and was a little nervous about getting glasses. Dr. Sneag was very nice, friendly and funny! He made me feel very comfortable and really listened to me. Everyone in the office was very friendly and efficient, I did not wait long in between each exams.Arturo was great helping me pick out glasses! His sense of what fits and personal style is right on! I thought I would have to return with a friend to pick out glasses, but was easily able to make the decision with Arturo.I highly recommend this team!

PLEASE READ MY UPDATED RESPONSE BELOW 6/12:Getting an appointment was a little bit of a pain pre Covid-19 but that soon became the least of my issues with this company. I ordered glasses and contacts from them and both products had problems from the onset. The glasses were ordered and came with small circles imprinted on the lenses. I saw them and inquired if I could get replacements without the circles. They said no problem and that was over a month and a half ago with still no new lenses. Then Covid-19 hit so I gave them a little bit of a break. Shortly thereafter, I ordered contacts as well and after a small delay I received the contacts in the mail and got the same prescription for both eyes. Left is 3.25 and right is 3.75. I received a years worth of 3.75 only. I reached out late on 4/13 ad still have not received a response as of 4/15. My wife claimed that she had issues when she ordered contacts from them as well. They need to review their ordering process and take a couple courses on customer service because both are terrible. I reached out to Bausch & Lomb for help but they say there is nothing they can do and I have to reach out to the doctors office. Will update when/if I finally get a response.Response from customer 6/12: I did receive a call Monday regarding this situation from none other than from Dr. Sneag himself who was very apologetic on the phone. After the call I was planning to update my review to 3 even maybe 4 stars for the follow-up. Then I saw the response from the owner on my unreasonable review. I was only contacted by his office initially after I contacted them via Facebook. It seems this office does not respond to numerous emails, which had my contact info on it by the way, but only to social media and if it makes them looks bad. I stand by my review as this whole ordeal was botched from the beginning and if you want to hide behind Covid-19 that is fine but I began this process in mid-March so there was plenty of time to get it right. His office did offer an extra month of contacts but that was only conceded after I asked for some sort of compensation for the issues not only with the contacts but the glasses as well. One month of free contacts is but a mere pittance for all the time that I spent attempting to rectify this situation. Seems like the response shifts blame from the manufacturer to Covid with no actual accountability to your office. I am in sales and when my company makes a mistake whether a manufacturer issue or not we take take responsibility in making it right. Thank you and stay safe...

Found Family Vision from a search of optometrists that were in Clairemont and had good reviews. I was extremely pleased with our service. I booked an appointment for myself first and found Dr. Sneag very thorough and helpful. I then booked an appointment for my daughters annual exam as well. She saw Dr. Langford and I was equally impressed.My daughter needed to get glasses for the first time and did so through the office. Im always hesitant on glasses and how much the total bill would be, especially when she was picky about her frame selection. As it turns out, they were VERY affordable. (Significantly less than I paid for my son at a discount optical store.)The BEST part - less than a month after receiving the glasses (which she loves as they help her see the board in school) she damaged the lenses. They had fallen out of her pocket and were kicked across the pavement. I thought for sure I was going to have to pay to replace both lenses. However, they were under warranty and replaced for FREE that same day! Talk about service!Id absolutely recommend the doctors and office!

Overpriced and unprofessionally

My first time there and I was very impressed. The staff was friendly and courteous. Dr. Sneag was helpful, friendly, and honest. He spent time discussing his results, answered all of my questions, and was able to explain complicated concepts with analogies that made sense to me. He didnt try to sell me on anything I didnt need. A very pleasant experience and I will definitely return.

The place was clean when I walked in. Parking was easy to find and the staff was very very personable and pleasant to talk to. Dr. Tam was my doctor and she was very informative about everything and answered all my questions no problem.I guess the only reason for me doing a 2/3 instead of 3/3 is simply because the prices were a bit high for me. This could be because Im not used to going to a place like this since Ive been going to places like Costco and Sears over the last 5 years, but I find myself going somewhere else when buying my glasses. Even with my insurance its cheaper to go to other places to buy my things. Other than that, I look forward to coming again next year!

Awesome doctor and friendly staff! Liz and Javier always take good care of me- finding me Saturday appointments and making sure my insurance benefits are used in a way that maximizes savings. My vision has actually improved since seeing Dr. Sneag- he is incredibly honest, intelligent and empathetic!

Every aspect of the office is professional and up to date. You are welcomed, signed in and kept track of until your Dr. is ready - always very punctual. Dr. Sneag is a trueinvestigator to provide your particular prescription in the best format possible. He goes above and beyond to inform you of any technical improvements that might work for you.Not just the initial exam - but any time you have a problem with broken glasses or needa contact lens last minute - they are very accommodating. I believe its called customerservice and it still exists in this office! You will not fine better eye care in San Diego.Dont waste time hunting for eye care - get the best!

The entire staff at the office was polite and friendly during my visit. I had a complete eye exam and other tests performed in less than a half hour. Dr. Langford was especially nice as she explained each step of my eye test.

Dr. Gary Sneag is a one of a kind GREAT eye doctor. My wife and I moved to Florida but we visit San Diego once a year and always come in to get a check up with Dr. Sneag. His expensive (painless) diagnostic equipment combined with his lifetime of experience make him unbeatable.

Dr. Sneag was rude and talked down to me. He tried to sell me essential and a no brainer add-ons for my glasses (that no other optometrist has ever suggested) that would have cost me an extra $60! When his first prescription didnt fix my vision, he blamed me for not trying hard enough....What, I didnt look through my new glasses hard enough???? Never going back.

Purchased a pair of lenses which, when delivered, had minor defects. FVC refused to provide replacements and exhibited no commitment to customer service. I suggest looking elsewhere.

I just called today (11/30/2017) and asked for exams quote: Eyes exam for glasses = $165. Eyes exam for contact lenses = $165 + ($65 to $120) depending on the contact lenses you ware. Does anyone else find this price too high ? I mean Walmart charges $60/exam for glasses and $90/exam for contact lenses. I think Family Vision Care charges too much for their services.
