This place is absolutely awesome! Tony makes the place really feel welcoming. I had an appointment for an exam and he helped get me checked in. The tech that helped during my exam was very nice too, but Tony made a real impression. After my exam, he helped me pick frames and finish/process my order. He was friendly and very knowledgeable. It was a real pleasure to come in early on a Monday morning and receive such amazing service! Thank you!

So dissatisfied that I returned all 4 pair of mine and my daughters glasses. I mean it was so unprofessional and the representative at the office was argumentive. Serra Mesa were awesome.1st off, my sons nearsighted who cant do without his glasses, and, his frame was broken by accident.2ndly, we do not have vision insurance.So I shopped around for a good place for a simple solution, and sure enough, all eye doctors wanted you to go through the SOP. I can understand their standard op procedures, but I just needed a good vision test and a pair of reasonably priced frame with the correct lenses so he can see!Alex, by understanding our needs, offered us the non-insurance discount.Kyle, by detecting my unspoken need of a spare for my teen sportive boy (if any sport related incidents should happen, hell have a spare pair glasses to go to) Kyle offered us another price break at check out. It came as a surprise cause he didnt have to.A short note about the vision tests, Kyle invited me to sit in. It was pretty cool, they had a virtual doctor providing all necessary check ups, the prescription came out to be quite accurate, meaning my son didnt have any dizzy spell with the new prescription.There you have it, my 2 thumbs up for these guy.

The people working here were so weird and fake. Insecure and pretentious at the same time, Id rather go to the DMV. After soaking us roughly 2 or $300 I just agreed to whatever. They said come back in 2 weeks for your glasses. Promptly 4 weeks later they informed us that one of the frames we paid for wasnt available. More waiting, and finally received glasses and wont be going back. Dont spend your money here.

I was not informed ahead of time that it would be a teledoc visit. The doctor prescribed a completely wrong prescription so I just had to use my old prescription. Not good at all.

I had a great experience! Eye exam was very quick and efficient. They have so many frames to choose from. I really enjoyed the service Jesus provided, didn’t feel pressured at all. Buying new glasses can be stressful at times but he made it so easy and enjoyable. Will definitely recommend to family and friends!

I have been waiting for my classes for almost a month. Each week I get delayed another week. I was warned not to go to Stanton, but I thought how bad could it be. Well if you need your glasses, dont go there! No one knows whats going on.

Unfortunately i did not get the gentlemans name who helped me, however he was great! He was the only one at the shop when i arrived and he managed to assist me and five other guest getting all our appointments and exams out right away. He was polite, quick and efficient i would highly recommend this particular location, also i will be going back for my 3rd pair

Walked into this location Monday 2/1 and was instantly greeted by Alex. I told her I had a bent arm and she took the time to look at it on the spot and try to fix it. When she realized it would need a second pair of eyes and more time, she took my name and number and I left them overnight. Came in two days later to get them and they were good as new. Alex was super friendly and helpful!

I was lured in by the window dressing that claimed $59 for 2 pairs of frames and a free eye exam promo,that and the fact the freeway signs were looking a little blurry to me while driving.I walked in and got exam the same day,even though it seemed understaffed.14 day waiting for the glasses to arrive at the store for me to pick up.OMG I can finally see so much better now with such details, its like the difference between night and day.Thank you Stanton Optical,took wife to get her exam and now waiting for her glasses to arrive for pick up too👍

Stanton staff is always friendly and helpful often going the extra mile to create the best eye-ware shopping experience possible. My recent Sunglasses order got delayed for some reason I cant recall. I had a trip to the desert planned and said to Mike, the store Manager, that I really needed something to protect my eyes for the trip ahead. He gave me a sample pair of Mirrored sunglasses of a similar frame-style off the store rack to use and keep, I though that was really great! They werent my Rx lenses of course but at least I could protect my eyes enough until my ordered pair arrived. Why only 4 stars? A couple reasons; I) really dislike the décor and all the Orange in their branding and think the place looks tacky and 2) I dont think their 2-pair deal is much of a savings in the end. When you get all you that need into the lens order their prices are about the same as any major eye-ware chain but maybe a bit more affordable than the smaller neighborhood type optical shop.

Awesome service the people are always so helpful I frequent here because my glasses are well used and any normal ware and tare they are always willing to help with. A few times Ive even come in right before closing due to my work schedule but there is no shift in the customer service they dont make me feel like a nuisance and still take their time even if offer to pick up the next day they will still stay and help me out. The actual optometrist is kind of an impatient and condescending from time to time but his techs are great and super helpful.

This place is a scam. I went there under the impression I was participating in the infamous 2 Pair for $59 deal.Took the eye exam with a Optometrist on Zoom but I didnt feel like my prescription was right(well see when I get my glasses in 2 weeks). They only had about 6 adult pair of the value glasses, none of which looked good. Was told they had a buy one get one deal. I picked out 2 frames, the most expensive being $109.We sit down to process the order the total comes out to $789 for 2 frames(since the eye exam is free).How is that even possible? Even with adding anything special it would be IMPOSSIBLE to reach that amount.I told her that was not what was advertised and I would just pick out a value pair. This lady did not allow me to say no, she kept saying well you took so long to pick out glasses. And deducting discounts from the almost $800 until we finally reached to $148 for a no name brand pair of glasses, with nothing added to the lines.Dont go here.

Me and my husband with her during Covid we got the glasses registered in May but we didn’t receive them until August and they will not give us any type of help because he broke both sides on the glasses and he received his second pair now they want us to pay out of pocket to have them fixed it’s obviously going to be expensive why would I pay another 300 to fix just the side of the glasses there suggestion was to buy new frames with a discount how bout not I’m taking this to Twitter and there customer service is all f….d up

So I decided to schedule an eye exam appointment online, which was easy to do. From the moment I arrived I was greeted with such kindness from both Sam and Monica. Sam made me feel very comfortable during the exam and she has a great personality too. Both Sam and Monica were so very helpful and informative. From beginning to end I had a great experience. Also helped me pick out 2 great frames that I am very happy with. I totally recommend this place.

Bad service.... all they’ll do is try to up sell you stuff for your glasses and if you don’t buy it they get upset at you. It’s like they are on commission only or something. The doctor I saw got my prescription wrong and my glasses came wrong. I had headaches and blurred vision due to that. Had to return and get them redone. Their website tracks your order but it’s not accurate so call instead. My first glasses said where on the way to the store for 3 days when they were already at the store they just didn’t check them in. Oh and Shocker... they never answer the phone at the store so it transfers you to an agent in another state or country and they tell you the same thing it says online. Not helpful at ALL!! Go to Costco or LensCrafters instead.

I went in to try a new place, and it was a very pleasant experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My eye exam was very thorough and the tech explained every step of the exam. Figuring my prescription was also interesting I did have someone on a computer conducting the test she was nice and patient. Daniel was patient and friendly in helping me find frames. He provides excellent customer service. Overall it was a great experience just waiting for my frames.

I walked in and needed some assistance due to having issues with some contacts and was immediately helped by Monica! She was really helpful and told me exactly what I should expect with my contacts and gave me peace of mind knowing what had happened. Made an appointment for my 6 year old son for a Saturday. Took the day off work paid for a babysitter to make this appointment. We get there and they say they dont even have youth doctors on Saturdays. They made a mistake that cost me hundreds of dollars and worst of all my son still had no glasses cant see. No wonder theyre so cheap, you get what you pay for apparently. Went to Lenscrafters and walked right in no appointment no wait. DO NOT GO TO STANTONS!!

The appointment took forever for no reason except employees milling around, then they didnt even bother to enter the order for 2 days after the appointment despite taking payment. Still dont have contacts more than 2 weeks later.

Pretty disappointed in the service of Stanton optical. They messed up my prescription. They left out the bifocals and tried to cover for it by saying they gave me a bunch of extra stuff for a discounted price then giving me my actual prescription. This is after I went in expecting to get two glasses instead of just one for promotion they have been advertising in their commercials and it ended up being way more expensive and not the deal they advertised. If I had known they were going to screw me over like this I would not have gone with Stanton. And when I tried to Get them to fix their mistake they said it would cost extra when gave me things I did not ask for. And now I have to wait an additional two weeks for them to fix my glasses and remove all “the really great things they gave me at a discounted price.” Do not go into Stanton if you are looking for the price and deal that they advertise bc it is false and don’t go in if you are looking for good customer service because they say they are giving you a great deal but cut corners and try to cheat you.

Amazing survives....Sam and Mike were very professional in helping pick out the frames.I was amazed on how many frames to choose from...Easy on the pocketbook.Judith was amazing on my eye exam.Never had someone from the TV help me before... ;-)

Promise dates are not real, tracking system is poor at best and the although the instore personnel are friendly they dont seem to have a way to give feed back to whoever it is they send the glasses to. I will re review after my glasses arrive I have been given an estimated 2 weeks after the original promise Date as they call it.

Great service! Good deal $59 two pair. Got my son his prescription glasses. With protection plan I paid $128 total. 1 year frames 2 years lenses protection.

The whole process was easy and every member on their staff was incredibly friendly! My glasses should be ready in a week or so and I’m very optimistic they will be just as great as the service. I will surely be back in the future!

On Tuesday, January 8, 2019 I arrived early for My 10:30 am appointment at Stanton Optical on Murphy Canyon Rd. in San Diego, CA. The employees present, Sam, Mike and Jerick, were all Professional and Personable. After an Eye Exam, I selected two (2) frames, requested Bifocal lenses with Anti-Glare, paid for My purchases, and was done within an hour and fifteen minutes. Sam was My Go-To Employee, she was Energetic, Knowledgeable, Courteous, and Very Efficient. I recommend this establishment to those who need glasses and the staff of employees who are more than willing to assist you fulfill Your wishes.

Glasses were late by 1 week. While the lenses are nice, they came without a case. I have a case at home, but some people wont, and its ridiculous to sell someone a new pair of glasses and not provide them with a way to store/travel with their glasses. The overall experience was not exactly smooth. I didnt find the virtual eye doctor particularly pleasant. The doctors are in a foreign country and talk like scripted robots. They are not very personable and it doesnt seem that they care much. Their order tracking system didnt have my order when i called to check on it, and i had to track it down manually. It was an OK experience, but not something i will rave about.

I went in as a walk in with a bit of an emergency as my glasses broke in the middle of my work day and I could not see to drive. The glasses were not repairable. They got me right in and fitted me for contacts. I was also able to keep the first set for free. I was in & out in 45 minutes and not late for my return to work. The staff was very professional and helpful. They were also very knowledgable & informative in regards to what might be best for my certain eye condition.

There was alot of pressure into buying deals for exactly what most people are saying. They also pressure you to give them a 5 star rating right after youre done to boost up their ratings on Google. They took 10 days from when I ordered my glasses to tell me that the frames that I ordered are NOT available. Honestly, I do regret coming here. So please be warned about that potential treatment.

Went in this past weekend, was helped by Daniel. I don’t know much about glasses, I have never worn glasses until I took an eye exam there.. turns out I need glasses... he was very knowledgeable and helpful in choosing frames. Did not feel rushed at all. Very flexible in prices and offers, received no judgement from my financial situation, they made sure I got what I needed, got a great price overall.

Wouldn’t give a straight answer when asked if they accept my eye insurance. Asked at least 5 times and got the same “come in and we will talk” Finally asked “can you give me a yes or a no, do you accept my insurance” and received the same statement. Went in and sure enough they don’t accept my insurance. Waste of time driving over there.

Getting an appointment was pretty easy n the help in the store was great but being told that it usually takes two weeks to receive ur glasses is ridiculous I’m going on over 3 weeks and every time I try to call to check the hotline I’m connected to (?) tell me they don’t see it and when I’m connected to someone all they say is we’ll call u when they’re ready. Absolutely ridiculous. If the wait is this long then it should be said upfront had I known it would take this long I would have gone to another friendly place.

First of all, I was able to get my eye exam with a doctor via TV/FaceTime/super cool technology. Sweet. :) The employees are personable and I got to order my frames straight away! They made it super easy and I can’t wait to get my pair of fly frames. 😎

It took 3 weeks to get one pair and over a month for the 2nd pair. I received no call or communication from this company I had to call multiple times and just show up to know they were done. I waiting 2 1/2 for my exam which was scheduled didn’t even my diabetic exam like I also scheduled the person went to lunch even though I was scheduled. Very horrid company to deal with.

Horrible customer serviceHad picked out the glasses picked out and was happy but wasnt to sure if 2 week turnaround would work for me but I went ahead with the transaction. When two weeks hit I showed up in store to pick up my glasses only to find out that they got delayed! I wasnt called or notified about any of this. Then to find out it would take till the end of the month with no for sure date. So I called in to get a refund started, they tryed to give me a partial refund if I could stay with Stanton but even then they couldnt give me a solid date on when my pair of glasses would be ready. So beware of you needing glasses in a reasonable time or youll be waiting a month or longer.

Destinee and Sami were super helpful during my exam and process picking glasses. I didnt walk in needing anything but a check up but Destinee worked hard for me and my boyfriend to find something we liked and could budget for. I appreciated that she wasnt pushy and was very friendly. I would recommend asking for her. Excited to see if my glasses fit and if I still like them since I usually have a hard time wearing glasses!Update: Communication was extremely poor. Was not contacted when glasses were ready and date for completion was incorrect and I wasted a trip. When I explained to an employee what happened I was given a halfhearted apology and they blamed it on the manufacturers rather than take responsibility. Such poor handling.

I came in today for the buy 1 get 1 deal and the eye exam for 2people. It was interesting to have a video Skype exam lol yes its true a lady on a TV gave me my exam, first time for everything. She was very efficient and polite . SAM helped us check out and explained our options, she was amazing very helpful, friendly and excellent costumer service. You go Sam!!!

Awful awful experience! Total scam operation! They lure you with a free eye exam which isnt free at all as they deduct it from the package that you purchase! Obviously the package is way higher than other outfits. The lenses and cheapo frames they sell are worthless. Customer service is awful!Do not go!

Lets see $59 not going to happen. Those are their worst 6 pairs of glasses. I ordered some that were $29 for my son(2 pairs) and it was over $230. For that price I should have gone to Costco. Next they are terribly understaffed and you will be standing around while they tend to new customers. I wanted to pay and go but instead I had to wait around as they went and greeted others and let them go over why they were there. How about finish up who is!! Maybe 1 person working the floor and 1 doing exams isnt a good idea for a Saturday. Now its been 3 weeks tomm and all they have is one pair of the same glasses I ordered. So much for 7 to 10 business days! When I asked last week it was 7 to 15 business days. I am sure I will get 7 to 20 days today, but I just sat on hold for 5 minutes to just go to voicemail. This place is garbage!! Go to Costco or somewhere else.

Stanton offered a buy-one-get-one-free deal at this time.Pros:* They have a nice selection of frames for kids* Staff is friendly and helpful* Excellent buy-one-get-one-free offer on frames and lenses*I didnt feel pressured by the obligatory upsell attempt* First set of frames/lenses worked greatCons:*The supplier used a robo-call to notify me when the glasses were available, and since I get dozens of robo-call scam calls each day, I missed the notification.*The main office never called me when the other glasses were ready for pickup (see below)* The second set of frames were not available in the color he wanted. OK, whatever, we got another color.* The second set of lenses did not fit into the frames correctly. One lens wobbled severely and easily fell out.* They offered to repair it (yay), which took another 10 business days (boo), but when we got the new frames, it had the exact same issue (In Will Arnetts voice: Come on). Finally, 10 additional days later (boo), on the 3rd try, they got it right (yay).

I am writing this review, so you dont make the same mistake i did.This place is a SCAM !!I went there for my contact lenses exam. They dont even have a doctor on site. When i went to the room for the exam, they connect a computer with a person in Florida and through the TV they change the lenses on the machine. After the examination, i was told that i will have the trial contact lenses. They made me wait for 30min on the waiting area. While i was waiting, they just got more patients, like a production line ( or a bait ).If you want a decent examination, go to WalMart which is next door or even better, go to COSTCO ( they are serious about customer service).Another thing, while i was waiting, there was this used car sales man trying to selling me all kinds of glasses.

As soon as I walked in I felt very welcomed by the staff at this location. I had a very friendly gentleman come up to me and ask if I had an appointment or if I wanted a walk in eye exam and I told him it was a walk in. After that he lead me to the back where another gentleman performed my pre eye exam.The whole experience of my eye exam was very cool and I guess you could say, futuristic, because it was all done through a webcam! A doctor via video chat was helping me with my exam and it went by so fast and easy. I was able to hear him very well and vice versa. Loved it!As soon as I was done with my exam, the sweetest person ever, Sam, helped me choose out my glasses. She was very helpful and informative about the style of glasses that she was presenting to me. She was going off what my original glasses looked like and was also showing me different styles as well. She was also very patient with me! I felt like I was taking forever to pick out my glasses but she kept telling me that it’s fine and to take my time, which I very much appreciated.When I finally chose my glasses, the whole process was fast and easy. She even worked out a way to help me due to my financial situation!Thank you to everyone who works at this location. You guys made my experience super easy and fun! Especially you Sam :)

Great service

Worst experience of my life.. Understaffed!! They advertise one price and hit pay 2 times or so more. They tried to force me to buy my contacts when all I wanted was the perscrpition. They made me pay 1/3 of the cost upfront just to get my perscrpition and 1 set of trails for the month!! Never received a call about when to come back to verify of the contacts was good until a month later!! Even then I had to be very hostile to get my perscrpition because that is all I wanted. I would never go there again with their bulls**t advertisement.

Stanton Optical, newly open at 3460 Murphy Canyon Rd. is a great addition to this strip mall with a Vons, Petsmart, and a Walmart. I went in today to check it out. Mike was so helpful. I already had a prescription for eyeglasses, but found it was not with me. Mike told me to pick out some frames, we could set up the order, and I could email the prescription and he would add it. He also helped me with costs, and gave me a good deal. It was easy and quick, and I will have my new glasses in about 10 days. Thank you Mike. I really appreciate your care.

My appointment was Feb 12th first of all you do not see an actual doctor you see a teladoc. When they went to sell me my glasses I felt it was not the deal they were advertising and everytime i said no thank you they lowered the price like 3 times. They told me my glasses would be in on the 14th -19th. I kept calling and being told that my order was still in process. Today 3/11 i called again and got the same message so I prompt for a live person. This person fist told me that they show that i picked up one pair back on the 19th. I pushed them and they confirmed that i did not pick them up. They offered me additional $100 off my order. I cancelled my order will never go there again. This place is a joke do not waste your time.

Showed up on time for my free eye exam but they dont tell you its free with purchase. Have to put $45 down before they even do the exam. I was on time for an appt that was supposed to take 45 minutes but was made to wait over an hour for a client who was before me who didnt even show up on time. I didnt mind having the exam done virtually by a remote physician but I highly despise the constant pressure to get me to purchase glasses that same day. Spent 3 hours for what was supposed to take less than an hour. Stick with your regular doctor or go to the walmart next door.

This is a placeholder review until i get my glasses. firstly, and most importantly, my examine was conducted by a real Optometrist, Dr. Cheng, in person, not via teleconference as mentioned in some of the reviews here. I ultimately decided to go here instead of Walmart or Costco because I really do not like waiting to be helped or scheduled for an exam. the sales person, Sam who helped me after my exam was terrific. I ended up ordering 2 pairs of glasses and a pair of sunglasses...even signed up for their frames club, something I didnt go in looking to do. Unfortunately i received a call tonight letting me know, there was some kind of problem with my order and i need to go back and choose different frames for my sunglasses. this is a bit frustrating, cause i did pose the question whether or not my lens would be made for the particular frame i chose. unfortunately their system was down at the time and the sales person had no way of knowing, so I dont blame her. normally this would be a redflag, as I am now Im stuck because Ive already paid for sunglasses. I may regret later, going here, but so far the experience has been enjoyable.

Oh no, BEWARE - NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER. Let me start from the beginning on Dec. 05, 2018, I went in for an eye exam and 2 prescription eyeglasses. After my eye exam the salesman who sat me down started circling the cost of my glasses then to which he said “How would you like to pay, cash or credit? I said cash, to which he said I owe $607.00. I was flabbergasted because the original salesman who helped me before the eye exam said my cost would be $259.00. That should have been a Red Flag of what else was to come. I asked the salesman for his advice on whether the glasses complimented my facial structure and he decided to shrug his shoulders like he didn’t care. I guess because I was only wanting to spend $259.00 which was their special promotional sale. The salesman verbally and in writing indicated a promise date of Dec. 19, 2018. Well, I got 1 out of 2 eyeglasses days later than the promised date. And they had no idea where the 2nd eyeglasses was. They said that their computer made an error in the order. I didn’t realize computers made errors - i thought it would be a human/salesman input error! So they said they had to re-order my 2nd pair again and that they would put a Rush on the order since it wasn’t my fault for the error. Behold, it is now January 09, 2019, AND I AM STILL WAITING for the 2nd pair. I did visit and even called to inquire whether glasses were in, and I got a NO NOT YET and to which they gave me a little bottle of eyeglasses cleaner in the hopes it would satisfy my unhappiness and make up for their incompetence. Maybe I’ll finally get my order today, tomorrow, or maybe in 6 MONTHS! I will never purchase prescription eyeglasses from their store again!!! Guess I better call their store again to see if my order is finally in. I have come to the realization that this is a shady business - they draw you into their store with a good deal of $259.00, then try to get you to spend $400.00+ Or more then the original deal! Whaaaaaat!!!!! On top of that - poor customer service!!! Whaaaaaat!!!

Dont waste your time and money

I almost never leave reviews but my experience was so bad that I am leaving a review to hopefully save someone else the trouble! I went in to get some glasses on OCT 8th. I got an eye exam picked out my glasses and wound up paying way more than expected. I was told my glasses would arrive in a week to a week and a half. Two weeks later I call to see what is going on. They tell me oh well there were some issues and they will be here in 7 business days. I go back a week later they tell me oh well one pair will be 5 buisness days and will be here by the 7th of NOV. The other pair they lost the frames for and we have to start over and it will be a week to a week and a half. They keep pushing my date back. I got a call today on NOV 1st saying one pair will possibly take longer than the 7th. I am beyond angry over the I have been treated and how long they are taking. Save yourself time and money and go somewhere else!Update it is the 7th one month after ordering glasses and I still dont have them. I will be trying to get a refund for the second time.

In spite of their free eye exam & two pair of eyeglasses for $59 advertising, the aggressive sales pitch to spend more on unwanted and unnecessary extras has me deciding to get my glasses elsewhere from now on.
