I always have pleasant visits at this optometrist. Dr. Johnson takes all aspects of eye care into account, uses cutting edge technology and gets me most accurate prescriptions. The store front at the office has great, friendly staff and a rich selection of brands and frames to choose from. Definitely recommend this facility.

Short story is skip it. Go somewhere else. It may be convenient to your house in Tierrasanta but the service is horrendous. My first appointment to gets contacts was in May. It is now October and still nothing. They charged my card in May, used my insurance for the year and have yet to deliver contacts. The insurance thing is now not a big deal because we are getting closer to January every day.Every time I call they say the contacts are on their way.If you do decide to go to this office just know that they will never call you. If you order something and they say we will call you when it comes in…….they won’t…….you have to call them. Good luck

I was impressed by the latest technology and indepth explanation of exam results. The staff were friendly and knowleageable of eye products.

My experience there was amazing. The technology they are utilizing made the testing enjoyable.Nikki did the testing and she was amazing. I did not need the customary drops in my eyes that my other optometrist uses. (Some individuals may still need drops) I did not. The new technology and tests that were done as well as entering my old prescription and glasses I was currently wearing made it more accurate to determine if my eyes required a different prescription which enables the doctor to spend more time with each patient.Nicole assisted me with dispensing my new glasses. She was very helpful and knowledgeable in determining which additional features I wanted to add to my prescription. I ordered the Ray Ban color block in Black and Tan - which she recommended. This was the most amazing experience I have ever had. Make an appointment. You will be happy that you did.

Excellent staff, but terms of what was covered on insurance were not clear, whatsoever. I called ahead and asked if my appointment was covered, and now I have to pay an extra 180 dollars for a contact fitting that apparently wasnt included.I give this establishment 2 stars, only because the staff were so professional and kind to allow me to split payments. The downside is, I have to pay a lump sum of money and a price I didnt consent to, before the extra service was done.It was not explained before it was done that it was a different service that I would be charged extra for. I feel conned.

I really liked everything except that if someone calls asking if you take their insurance I’m pretty sure that means they are looking to make sure their routine eye exam is covered and so to end the appointment with a $40 test that isn’t covered is kind of shady to not tell the patient prior to the test. I’ve never gone to get a routine eye exam somewhere that is in network with my insurance leaving with balance due for some test I wasn’t told was not covered. Not a way to keep customers coming back.Update: The office called and resolved the issue, I really appreciated the personal call and the time she took to explain the test and why it is not always covered by insurance.

Dr. Johnson and Autumn are the best. Im always a difficult customer (Not on purpose) and they are very patient and easy to work with. I recommend Dr. Johnson all the time.

I had a great experience at this center. For those on a budget they offer a $99 package for glasses and lenses etc. and it’s a very good deal. My insurance only covers the eye exam. I walked out of there with two boxes of contacts, one pair of glasses with good lenses, and a contact and I vision exam for under $400. I’ve never spent less than that for all of that that I’ve got before!! Also, the doctor was great about telling me how I can help my eyes by putting a warm washcloth five minutes a day to clear out oils etc. and didn’t try to oversell anything.

Friendly staff, clean office, and very timely appointment! They are so knowledgeable about all things eye care, answered all of my questions, and had my appointment finished in just under an hour. Even though I’m moving out of Tierrasanta next year, I think I might make the drive back down here just for my annual eye exam!

Every thing was done in a professional manner with all the covid safety precautions in mind. Dr. Johnson asked did I have any questions or concerns about my current eye health. He even explained how important doing things such as warm compresses and lid cleaning products help promote good eye health.

My experience at Total Vision in Tierrasanta was a very positive one. I was greeted as I entered and Temperature taken. They are following Covid protocols. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Went in for an emergency visit for my 2 year old. They got us in so fast and were so patient and reassuring. Since we left my 2 year old has talked about going back instead of being scared. Making appointments for the rest of my family & hopefully no more emergency appointments.

My Provider is always professional and knowledgeable; but he also genuinely cares about me. He always asks me how I’m doing and what I’ve been up to. Quality and customer service are optimal in my experiences; and I have been going to the same Provider at this place for several years now.

Purchased sunglasses, had incorrect coating & color of lenses. They replaced it. Then they put in the wrong prescription. They redid it. Now the coating on the lens is coming off. I’ve had other eyeglass with the same coating and it never had a problem. Being that it is shortly after a year, they will not replace it. I guess it’s back to Costco for me! Too bad bc it’s so convenient!

Horrible. Got an eye exam here 3 months ago now and still no glasses. But they took my insurance benefit so now I have to find another provider and pay out of pocket. After my exam here I discovered to my surprise that they did not have any frameless glasses at this or their other location. I tried getting the glasses made myself using the Rx. First I tried online. Those glasses were totally blurry. Then I tried LensCrafters -- blurry again plus I could see the reflection of my eye in the glasses. Also, the incompetent staff failed to give me the the necessary paperwork to fill out for my visit and they had to mail it to me and asked me to fill it out after causing me to have to make another trip to their office. Im so sorry I ever went to this place. Totally incompetent amd unprofessional.

Everyone is super nice and they encourage you to touch all the glasses you want, then they sanitize the ones you’ve touched to ensure everyone’s health. You can even go outside to try on glasses without a mask on and theyre really cool about that. Everyones very nice and sweet and works with a good attitude.

Doctors are all excellent, and receptionists and technicians are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in making choices. Their new eyeglass packages are really affordable and you have great choices. Thanks for the wonderful service!

I was very pleased to be recommended to this practice. They made me feel safe with regard to COVID-19 precautions and the exam was very thorough—using technology I’d never seen before. COVID safety measures include an outdoor table set-up for trying on frames, and a system to clean them between customers. Overall I felt comfortable with the precautions I saw in place.

They have top notch equipment for exams, and a good selection of reasonably priced frames. They made sure I got glasses that fit my needs at a price I could afford, rather than getting me under expensive frames.

While the doctor is very nice and most of the staff as well, I had the misfortune of dealing with a technician that was completely inept in many levels. She already made a mistake on my actual reading glasses that was supposed to be bifocals but she couldn’t get the bifocal division correctly two times in a row. First time too high, then too low. Unfortunately I had the worst outcome for expensive sun glasses that I purchased over a year ago And just recently decided to start wearing them because I have so many others. The inept technician, in order to make them fit on my face, completely bent the arm part so inappropriately, that the glasses will not stand on my head and they keep falling. When I brought him to another optician, actually two they said that whoever did that compromise my glasses completely and obviously didn’t know what they were doing. I understand this person is not there anymore but I wanted to specifically talk to the manager to find out if there’s something they could do even thoughthere has been such a time lapse, and the manager to whom I left several messages within the last month, never bothered to call me back for the feedback and possible resolution. I find this highly inappropriate and unprofessional. Obviously they don’t care…I even have pictures to show them, and they didn’t even bother asking me to send them over and unfortunately there’s no way to post him here to show the egregious adjustment this inept technician did…

Very professional. Greeted kindly by my first name at the entry door. Greeter was wearing a mask, as was I. Asked me several important questions regarding Covid-19, took my temperature, asked me to wash my hands or use hand sanitizer and then said please have a seat and the Doctor would be right with me. All rooms and equipment wiped down and were spotless. I felt very safe!

I’ve been a patient of TVC for many, many years...which should indicate how I feel about them! The doctors and team are considerate, caring and experts in the field. They stay abreast of the most current advances in vision care and incorporate them into the practice. Dr. Nathan Johnson is great to work with and he brings a high level of professionalism to his patient care. I really appreciate that they are a “one-stop shop” in that I can get my contacts and glasses prescriptions filled onsite. I’ve referred multiple friends to TVC over the years because of my experience. :-)

February 1, 2019 been going to this for the past 3 years, I called today to see if I can setup an appointment and I asked if there is availability for today to get a new safety glasses for work. The lady said yes as long it’s before 5pm.After rushing out of the house to make it before 5pm. I arrived at 3:50 and they told me I can’t be seen today. Well, last time I’ll go back here,

The kids and I have been going to Doctor Johnson for years. Great quality of care. The equipment and technicians are top notch. I love that he suggested retna scans which Im highly supportive of even though my insurance doesnt fully cover them.My wife goes to the UCSD Shiley eye clinic because she had early onset glaucoma. Ill never forget a few years ago when she came home and was so impressed with thisnew retna scan they gave her. I told her Ive been getting them for years over at TVC, and already had 5 years on file!Now separate from the clinic side is the glasses shop. Theyve done a great job getting more reasonably priced options in. And this year 29er got some computer glasses for the kids during telecommuting. Im happy and would recommend them.

Kind of nice in person but on the phone customer service need help!

Terrible service. Purchased order of contact lenses and they only had partial quantity. They ordered the remainder. Later when I went to pick up the backorder they didnt have them because they had already sold them to someone else. Sold them for an order I had already paid for then told me they will order again and wait another week for them to arrive. All this inconvenience and not even an apology!
