Their store, which is still well supplied, has no lack of items. The whole crew was respectful and welcoming. In contrast to other markets around the world, they had a fairly priced and comparable bid. The menu has been updated to include fresh fruit, vegetables, and beef. Its in a lovely setting thats still well maintained. Its been a fantastic journey.

Great selection. Rude, unfriendly employees. As I left the (crowded and poorly-designed) checkout, I was lectured by a bespectacled employee not to place my bag on the counter (which I did briefly so as to find my wallet to pay, a perfectly natural action on my part). She wasn’t even the person checking me out. And I was literally already walking from the counter. Why was that necessary? Petty, if you ask me.After perusing reviews here and elsewhere, it seems that this store in particular is known for rude staff. Other customers had almost the exact same experience as me. In a way, I feel better knowing that. Naturally I will never shop here again.

Came here on a Saturday morning. Grocery selection looks good / on par with a small Whole Foods. The to-go drinks section is a nightmare. Took 20 minutes to get a drink. Orders came out randomly with little to no logic on the order when they were ordered. Plenty of cafes / juice places on Haight so I’d recommend somewhere else.

The Filipino butcher-fishmonger insulted me on Wednesday because he overheard that I’m from NYC while I was speaking to another customer. He recounted that he was stereotyped in NYC and therefore all NYers are snobs. It was in 1982. Apparently he hasn’t recovered from it yet and needs therapy.A conversation between clients is none of his business, by the way. His ignorance of basic social etiquette was glaring. The people at checkout are equally unfriendly and sometimes hostile. It’s a cash register. Ask politely, and people will cooperate. Drop your snobby attitude. It is a grocery store, not an exclusive club.At least in NYC, our fishmongers and butchers don’t insult customers who simply want to order food and get home. The process should be frictionless.I will avoid this person, and will minimize my visits to this store.

The produce is fresh, fragrant, and colorful and competitively priced with great variety for a small neighborhood stores. Though the well stocked aisles are narrow you will find quality throughout this gem of a store. I found the meat and seafood to be of highest quality but no place to explore if you are on a budget. There is an excellent selection of wine and cheese and the cooked foods are a great option when you dont want to cook. Also its one of the few places Ive found where you can buy ground chicken breast, and Greek cheeses like Kasseri for making Saginaki (the cheese on fire dish). This is a nice little local SF market that stocks high quality organic produce, locally sourced meat proteins and is a surprisingly adept little one stop shop. The staff is usually friendly and very helpful with their own unique character. I prefer to do my shopping here over the disconnected corporate ran Bezos Whole Foods down the block. If you ask someone here to stock an item for you, you actually get results unlike the alternative mentioned above.

Great local stores with prices comparable to Whole Foods. There are some items labeled with Member Price but I always got that price, so Im not sure if you really have to be a member at all.The produce selection is fresh. Some of the unseasonal items are not local, but I dont mind that since theyre unseasonal. It seems like this market tries to get as many local products as possible. And the employees are really friendly. I needed to get fish for taco night with my roommates and the man who helped me was very patient. I didnt know what fish to buy, nor how much. He got me the right amount needed for three people and told me how to marinate them. They turned out fantastic! The aisles are pretty narrow so its hard to maneuver when it gets crowded. But otherwise, this will be my go-to local store when I need groceries.

The produce section is fantastic, both high quality AND reasonably priced--I didnt know that existed in this city! I love the efficient use of space, Ive yet walk out of here without finding what I was looking for. One tip I do have for the budget conscious is to identify organic vs conventional produce for the folks working the registers. Theyre busy and trying to be efficient, and Ive been overcharged a couple of times by accident. Other than that though, if youre looking for a local place to shop with great value, this is it.

The cashiers during check out arent very chatty, but they help you. The location is wonderful if you live the area. For size, cleanliness, crowd factor, quality of meats and produce. This is a really solid mid-high end grocery store. Doubled the choices of vegan and organic compared with the industrial sized market. The cons are: parking on Haight street, very small passageways, long lines at checkout, during rush hour. Positives way outweigh negatives, just plan to search for parking and likely a few blocks away. Great suggestion of ethnic & spices.
