This is the BEST market in the whole Richmond District! Tony, the new owner, has improved it so much since taking over last year.He has created a charming, well-stocked new market and a delightful shopping experience with world music, fresh artisan bread, wonderful organic produce for example. The prices are really good for the convenience of a neighborhood market in walking distance from where I live. And I feel so much better about supporting small business rather than big corporations like Trader Joes or Whole Foods.
Awesome place. They have all kinds of groceries from all around the world
Good thing there is a new owner.. the place seems much more well-staffed and happy since that happened!an absolutely lovely neighborhood market, cashiers are wonderful and friendly.only downside is that it is a little more expensive than other stores, but there is a great variety (Jenis Ice Cream!) that makes it worth the trip!
This market is under new management. They are remodeling the inside. They have quality produce, good looking meats, many different drinks, and sundry spices, soups, and snacks. A wonderful neighborhood market in the Richmond.
Very shady business practices. They will fraudulently charge your credit and then claim it was a purchase you made. I was charged $71 for a $5 purchase I made while I stopped in here during a bike ride. I have spent hours with the bank having to file all the appropriate paperwork. And Mainland market has no working phone number to contact them. I would give them negative stars if I could.
Really nice staff, great meat selection.
They have Vietnamese baguettes, but the entire store is pretty overpriced. I’m stoked to support local, and they seem to have a great meat counter, but everything is SO expensive here. That being said, it’s a small market with just about everything you could need in a great location. The staff are pretty nice, and once again, they have Vietnamese baguettes.
This market is convenient for us, it has a lot of Asian basics and a meat counter at pretty low prices if you know what youre looking for... And on the other hand a bunch of Whole Paycheck style treats. I deducted a star because their produce is often a little past prime.
Super helpful staff! Good selection of fresh produce and groceries in the neighborhood
Food is contaminated by strongly scented cleaning chemicals!Bought a bag of small Vietnamese baguettes for making sandwiches. They were in a somewhat loosely tied plastic bag, and they smelled of the overly strong cleaning chemicals used by the store. The same with the cucumber, the skin was inedible due to the scent of cleaning chemicals on it, so I had to peel it.
Bought a watermelon today, paid $11! Had to discard a whole thing, spoiled! You charge this amount of money for garbage. I can’t afford it. Not to mention that it was heavy, had to carry it, just to throw away. Extremely upset! Will never go back.
Homemade and imported Eastern European foods, treats and beer. Warm fresh bread. Good selection.
I love this place. A true neighborhood Eastern/Western cultural hybrid - Where else in San Francisco can you buy organic produce, fine cheeses, fresh chow mein noodles, Kewpie Mayonnaise, Bobs Big Boy salad dressing and chicken feet. Mainland Market is a fitting tribute to our multi-cultural neighborhood!
Good neighborhood market for general, organic and specialty items. They also have a small butcher/fish counter, a nice variety of fresh produce as well as some ethnic (mostly Asian) products. You can pretty much get anything you might need to prepare a proper meal. Prices ($$-$$$) definitely reflect the convenience of this neighborhood market.
This place has just been getting better and better. Have some unique choices and a lot of variety. Great for a local grocery store.
Affordable goods, like strawberries for 2.50 a box vs Safeway that sells them a dollar more.
Good prices on quality goods. Line moves slow but its worth it.
Good selection of quality items. Great place to buy pork since they do their own cutting from whole pigs.
Small grocery store offering a variety of products hard to find elsewhere.
Great place. I usually shop there. Unique food . Some items you cant find in stores. But I become a victim of an older shirt Asian lady who was on a condor. she was very racist and rude towards me. she smiled and talked nicely to asian men in front of me. but when it was my turn she starts yelling and throwing my stuff. I hope owner is going to do something about it. because of her he might lose his business. Just want to say Iam not going to come back again just because of her.
Long line but the cashier took forever to take care of one customer. Not many staffs around. Fresh and high quality products tho.
Neighborhood store has everything. Asian food. Organic, cheap veggies and fruits. Snacks. Fresh made sandwiches, morning coffee,
Disgusting ripoff place with the worst employees everyone who works there is gross. The place is gross.
This is a wonderful deli..polish& russian store..while walking I found fruits& veggies display out side and a wide range of deli delights were inside..worth a visit to this place😊
Good selection and affordable price. Recommended
Stop closing early. Like as in every day. 8:00PM and gate is down without fail. Easy way to drive off customers.
This place has seen great improvement in produce and store design these last few years! Though, theyre still a bit small so they might not have all the things you need.
This is a great, eclectic little market
Always fresh fruits. its a good place for those who like organic food
The market has new items and affordable, well stocked too. 😁 They have a butcher counter that is convenient for everybody, instead of driving to other places, fresh produce, premade sandwiches, alcohol, and good customer service, if you have any questions, just ask the stocker😁
Quality organic products, fresh produce, Russian and Chinese goods, front staff are a bit unfriendly.
Nice selection of packaged and prepared foods, very friendly staff, but the produce quality isnt great.
Typically SF neighborhood quick stop convenient grocery store with nice staff
Its in a convenient location. Did not find any alcoholic beverages, but to be fair, I didnt ask.
Love this store! Great produce, friendly staff!
Cute little market, nice staff
Mainland market aka Evergreen market has awesome prices on many asian groceries. They also have very good prices on their meats and fish selection. The produce prices are on par with everything else on geary. The food there is definitely not bammer, Love it
Crooks. Tendered $20 note for $9.56 payment but cashier entered $10, kept insisting the $10 is correct because thats what she entered in the cash machine.
Very high prices and not good products. Deseiving about organic food., especially tomatos.
Odd pricing between organic vs nonorganic ginger
They are doing great under new management.
No taco shells, but fifty different types of noodles
Good service here!
Im N California, & have never heard of these places
Lots of mushrooms a little pricey
Veggies and fruit are cheap
Sucks
Nice place
Normal shop, you can go
Very high quality products
