Make a reservation before coming here. Gulliver is a large Japanese-oriented used car establishment. They service mostly japanese people who are looking for used cars or selling their cars before moving away from the States. Since most of the clients are Japanese, the cars are impeccably clean and well-kept.Due to Covid, all of their business has been transformed to online; you email them the car you are selling, and they will send you a form to fill out and pictures to be sent back to them so they can evaluate and schedule an call with you to give your their estimate.

My parents and I went here to find me a used car and we had the best experience! My family is from Japan so finding a used car from a company that speaks Japanese and holds Japanese values made the process easy. We are from about two and a half hours away from San Jose and were able to make a next day appointment to meet and test cars. Yoshifumi-san was great and allowed me to test drive 5 cars. While he doesnt speak too much English, he is very funny and helpful! He ended up helping us for 3 whole hours before I ended up really liking the 2016 red Mazda 3. Since I decided to get this car, we worked out some paperwork which he stayed afterhours to do. We were able to pick up my car two weeks later and it was fully maintenanced and checked out as well as washed by Yoshifumi-san himself. I love my car and the process was surprisingly easy and fun! This is the only place on earth where you can feel good selling your car. I brought my Mercedes GL to three places for appraisal: the original Mercedes dealer where I got it, Carmax and Gulliver. Mercedes dealer was a joke. They didnt even want to look at the car but just asked if I was there to buy the next car from them - NO, NO, NO, it was so obvious they dont care about someone whos there to sell them a car because thats their job! Carmax was not too bad without the rudeness of the Mercedes dealership, but totally lacked the personable touch in customer service - typical American cookie cutter solution just quickly processing one customer after another. I initially thought Gulliver maybe too small with only one location in the Bay Area. But I quickly realized that the size of the dealer really is not an issue in selling your car, not to mention Gulliver is the largest car dealer in Japan (so they are in fact not small at all!). What I liked most about Gulliver is that every single person working there really cared about if I were satisfied with their service. And best of all, they gave me the best price for my beloved Mercedes! They know price is what matters to us most. But to me, the fact that I felt good selling my car was most memorable. I will definitely come back to Gulliver for any future sale of my car.

Stopped by to get a quote to be ready for shopping at automakers. I guarantee you’ll be satisfied by the customer service, reasonable assessment time, and most importantly, the best offer you could imagine compared to other dealerships/automakers. I had some ideas about possible dollar amounts after searching up at kbb, but normally you’d get knocked down by dealers’ persuasive talk techniques and/or by the facts that your car is at a major maintenance point or minor but some repairs. Here, my car advisor, Taka, was very honest, and he explained the appraisal process in details and offered me more than I expected (aver. of kbb at max).
