The salesman Alejandro Rodriquez was very helpful in making my purchase very successful! I made a deposit on a new Prius Prime before they had the car and followed through with me the whole process as the car got to the dealer. I also dealt with Will, who is the finance manager and both were very nice and professional. I will definitely keep them in mind next time anybody I know or I need another Toyota. THANKS SANTA MONICA TOYOTA !!!!
Had a good experience!! Alex walked through product details and plans, not pushy and gave us good discounts. Before, I went to Whittier Toyota dealership, compared to that, at least $2500 was less than Whittier on Toyota Prius prime. Even manager also gave us good discount to get extra parts warranty when closing the deal. Overall, Alex and manager Guillermo were helpful to make my day great. I would suggest at least go with this dealership if would have gone through places. Thank you!!
I purchased two cars from this dealership. The first one came with a paint blemish that they promised to fix and never did. There was covid in between, so i thought things might have been hectic and didnt think much of it. The second car is a brand new Toyota Mirai and they sold me a car with broken bumper supports, the bottom panel is rigged as to retain the bumper and hide the defect. The first day i took it driving out the bumper came off and they are denying me a proper repair. I intend to press legal charges but i am hoping to save future car buyers from being scammed . They knew what they were selling and despite the fact that my wife asked for a new specimen, not the test drive unit they gave us the test drive one . Which they had promised to replace . The manager, Joe is clearly too focused on getting rid of inventory rather then long term reputation, integrity and ethics.
I simply passed by and noticed it IS Open for business.
Good service, forthright in what your car needs and they are courteous
The parts counter guy doesnt know PARTS AT ALL he didnt even know what a crush washer is.. Where is the other guy? Wasted my time & gas ALL FOR NOTHING. Come on Santa Monica Toyota MANAGEMENT do / review your own responsibilities as well as the staff YOUR RESPONSIBLE FOR 👎💯👎💯👎💯👎💯👎💯👎💯
Service was bad my mom took her car there for a simple oil change had her wait from 12:00 to 5:00 service guys were rude to her and my Brother had to call to the dealer so they can help her. They see a Old lady and they just ignore her but when she went in there to buy her car Cash they were all over her bad service and she will never go back there again They need to have people that care if you are a man, women young or old Money and money
I brought my used Toyota Camry for sale and Santiago appraised my car. we sit together to make a deal and after wasting my time for three hours, they told me that they made a mistake on the offer and their offer is not valid anymore. they didnt even beat the Carmax offer to make me happy. waste of time here.
Have been going to this place for 7 years and have just had my limit on poor customer service. Ever since Ricardo had left the service has just gotten so bad. I have waited on my vehicle to be service for 5 hours 2 different times and and now that I was going to spend almost a $1000 on a battery replacement and gasket they cant give me a loaner vehicle so I dont have to wait forever and get some stuff done on my well deserved and needed one day off. Said something before about the 5 hour wait and it happened again. I dont even live close to here but got a good deal on my car and had such great interactions before. I tried my best to keep my service in one place but Im not going to go through that wait again.
Toyota of Santa Monica…. where the Sales Manager Joe comes from behind his desk and tries to get in your face and fight you for complaining about them lying about the car price. Honestly you’d have to be dense to buy a car here. Typical trashy dealership that will lie just to get you in the door and have a bunch of made up add ons to jack up the price over 5-10,000 dollars. Go to Longo or Carson Toyota or literally anywhere else if you respect yourself, your money, and your time. It’s no wonder they have a bunch of cars left and the place looks like it’s falling apart.
If you can avoid this shop, do it! The service department is horrible! We had our new Tundra in service, and when we got it back we notice squeaking noises from the wheels. They not seem to test drive it! Then we were told to come back the next day, which we did, and they put us on a 5 hour hold before the truck is ready. We are ending up going to a different Toyota service, many in the area, to get fixed what they did wrong. We like Toyota, but this was a terrible experience.
By far the worst car dealership have ever been to. I stopped by to check out a Toyota 4runner. I had been looking at this suv for about a week. So I stopped in for a test drive. Sales guy took one look at me and told me it is there policy that he runs my credit first and we make a deal first before I csn test drive the car? Never in my life all the cars I have bought have I been told that. Bought new Mercedes s550 and they didnt even ask for that. Smh. I went to clover city Toyota ( I highly recommend over this place) and I test drove and bought 4runner that was 8k more then the one I wanted to see at Santa monica Toyota! Straight racial profiled me! Lol looked at and decided that I couldnt afford the car. Who ever promoted ulysses to a manager role needs to be fired! The worst car lot I have ever been too! Do not go!!!!
Terrible service. Called this morning to bring my car in for an oil change and tire rotation. They told me to bring it anytime, plenty of availability. Got to the service station, no line at all, but they had me waiting 15 minutes. Just a bunch of guys standing around not doing anything. No one helped me so I left. Terrible.
I had to order a part there. Theyre very honest and reliable. They only charged what they quoted.
Daniel Hill promised me a deal on the phone -- I filled out all the paperwork. Then, they sent the quote and it was $4500 more than what Daniel promised. I pushed back, and the next quote was $1400 over the promised price. When I spoke with the manager, Joe, he continued to interrupt me and implied I was lying. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
Best experience I’ve had at a Dealership. Alejandro was very helpful, honest, non pushy and answered all my questions. Did not once feel like I was being scammed or pushed in a direction that I didn’t want to. Would definitely recommend and extremely satisfied with vehicle purchased.
Got a really great deal from David. Was very helpful and nice. He was also unassuming-as a woman going in to buy a car by myself, I’m always worried about being treated like a target or a child but David just treated me like a normal human. Asked if I had any questions and showed me the features and then let me do my thing. He didn’t point out obvious things as if I wouldn’t understand and he gave me a great deal. The finance guy was super cool, too. I’m very happy with my car. I’d buy from them again.
Top service for your Toyota. Friendly and efficient.
Great experience.. Took my 2013 blue Toyota Camry in for a oil change..They have coupons for % off!!!
Awful customer service. I do not recommend having your car serviced here. They do not perform half of the listed services that you pay for and they expect you not to notice.
After the 2021 Toyota Mirai lease/2019 Lexus vehicle trade transaction on August 1, I was abandoned by the Toyota of Santa Monica salesman, Ulises Villanueva; Manager, Hector Medina; and, the Finance Manager, Hassan Mohaved. Since we finished after closing time, Ulises failed to orient me about the function and safety features of the Mirai vehicle. The next day, I could not activate the Mirai Multimedia Screen Apps; and, he was not successful in helping me or even trying to find a solution. Furthermore, it took six phone calls to activate the Toyota remote services on the vehicle. An investigation has revealed that on August 8, 2021, Toyota of Santa Monica paid Lexus Financial for my vehicle trade: 2019 Lexus ES300H. However, ten days have passed, and I have still not received the check for the balance of equity. The dealership warns customers that there is a No cooling-off period. Then, they dont pay you for a trade-in without a fight.Due to these egregious failures in customer service, I will never return to Toyota of Santa Monica for service or another vehicle purchase.
We purchased two cars from this dealership. The first one came with a paint blemish that they promised to fix and never did. The aftercare post-purchase has been dismissive and shameful.
Sales representative Hamid Zabehi was very helpful in the process of me buying my first car in October!! The guy I spoke to in finance, Gene Song, was also very helpful and insightful! I am so grateful to have met these two. Great customer service.
Sales rep Alex sales - manager Stephenfinance manager hassanAre very kind funny honest helpful and got us in a car we wanted. Thank you for helping us and staying longer even when it was your time to leave. We appreciate all of you!
Was very disappointed with the quality of problem solving. We came exchange a vehicle that had unmerited claims. We have only had the vehicle for no more than two months.
As per some of the other reviews on here, I had an extremely disappointing experience trying to lease a vehicle from this dealership. Tuesday, Alejandro offers me a deal. He says he needs to get precise numbers if we want a different model, so I make an appointment to talk to him Wednesday to weigh up the comparisons and process the deal. Wednesday I call in and he is not in the dealership. They cant explain why he missed the meeting, or why I wasnt called in advance to be told he couldnt make it. Im told his manager can help, but mysteriously his manager doesnt have the exact numbers either. He needs to talk to Alejandro, who isnt there. Thursday, they offer me a deal that is $150 more per month than the initial deal, and tell me the only way to get the deal I spoke to him about on Tuesday, is to secure it elsewhere and they will match it. Why on earth would I give them the business if someone else has done all the work and they have tried to mess me around? As if I would have any good will for them after the way they treated me?We beat even their original deal at multiple other dealerships, and ended up super happy by signing with Toyota Tustin. And overall I noticed pricing was cheaper outside LA/Santa Monica. So definitely try dealerships a little further afield to see if you get a better deal.
Great service and convenient location!!!
My wife and I had an extremely bad experience at this dealership. We sold a car to Toyota Santa Monica. The process of selling the car was great: fast, easy, polite, no problem. But there was an issue where the dealership did not file the paperwork in a timely manner, resulting in us being out $299 -- basically, they agreed to buy the car, waited a week, our car payment went through, then they bought the car, so we got the quoted amount less the $299.We called the dealership: every call was sent to a full voicemail. After dozens of calls we were able to speak to Dan, Nick, and Will. We tried calling and emailing. We keep speaking to people. All of them were not familiar with our case, got details wrong, gave us incorrect information, and told us to call others (who also told us to call others). Will eventually directed us to Toyota Financial, who confirmed with me that this has nothing to do with Toyota Financial and was a dealership issue.Over 4 hours spent on the phone trying to resolve this issue and still no resolution. Literal quote from Will after we explained the problem we were having and asked for some sympathy: We did nothing wrong.Youll notice that most of the positive reviews are from people for whom nothing went wrong. But Im here to say that if something goes wrong, it will be absolutely impossible to get the help you need.Hard to believe how much it hurts being treated like this.Edit: Its been almost two months since I wrote the review. I contacted Toyota Santa Monica and Will Rivera another 5 or 6 times. Will, on the phone, said hed solve the issue today or tomorrow on July 6th. After this, I emailed Will another four times, then I emailed Wills boss, who CCed Will; he still didnt respond. After a second email to Wills boss, I eventually got contacted by Deborah on August 6th, who does finance stuff for TSM, to say she needed my address (already provided to Will a month before this). I asked Deborah to confirm when she sent out the cheque and to send the cheque with tracking; she said she would go to the post office on August 6th and then never contacted me again and didnt send tracking. I got the cheque on August 16th, about 75 days after the car was sold.Absolutely no one at TSM has treated us with basic human dignity. They might be friendly when they are selling you a car or buying a car from you, but run into any trouble and theyll ignore your emails, deflect, blame you, ask for information youve already given them, etc.
I called to purchase a Prius they had in stock. I told the sales rep to send me the contract and I will wire the money all cash then he can deliver the car. He insisted over my objection that I had to come. I requested to speak with the manager. Put me on hold for ever and no one called back. I tried calling but they kept on hanging up the phone. Bought the car from Culver City Toyota instead.
Wasted my time. I arrived early for my appointment with Hamid. I told someone I was looking for Hamid. I heard they sales rep tell Hamid that I was there. Hamid did not address me while he finished his pathetic spiel to a couple. Hamid did not address me as he joined his coworkers with his plate of pizza. I did not address Hamid as I left. There was no hesitation to ask for my contact info and text me and call about the appointment. It was like I was invisible. I dont expect any employee there to display respectable customer service.
We bought our truck from this location and we called and scheduled an appointment for a simple oil change and alignment.1st.) we called this location and spoke with someone directly, scheduled the appointment, showed up 10 minutes early to our 1:45om appointment with our confirmation and they still told us we “didn’t have a scheduled appointment” and that they “close at 4.”2nd.) Both the terribly highlighted, box blonde appointment assistant AND the curly headed Neanderthal “manager” (even thats a compliment) were incredibly rude Trying to rush us out as if they had something better to do 3 hours before they close .I have more but I’m done wasting my time. Good luck to anyone getting their car serviced or anyone working at this “establishment”
This place is absolutely terrible. Went to buy a 2021 Toyota Supra. Did not ask for a single dollar of a discount. Bought the car. Said there was one blemish that needed to be corrected on the passenger door trim. Looked like it was cut with a razor blade. I have waited nearly 4 months now. The sales person Alex and his manager kept forgetting about it. No follow up. I had to keep reaching out. Come 3 months later I get a call to go in, and it’s the wrong part that’s ordered. Now it is on back order and it’s another who knows how long before a brand new car is the way it should be. I work in the car business and have never seen this bad of a breakdown or follow up or just attention to detail. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Not if you’re looking for people that care or will follow up.
Would not let me view a car unless they held onto my drivers license, not show them driver’s license and proof of insurance, or take a photo of my license. After offering to show them and photocopy it, their sales manager informed me it was only their dealerships policy.Stay away from car dealerships who still use unscrupulous selling practices.
You guys had a coupon for oil change which is all I wanted, plus tire rotation for $169.00.. I reluctantly accepted. I never saw this coupon it was blurted out as an upsell. I got my car back shaky and unbalanced. I thought for sure that with paying for a tire rotation.. at a Toyota dealership... they would also balance my tires for the labor that Im paying for.Nope!I get it back shaky, I have to come back the next morning after my graveyard shift and am told that the wheels would get balanced free of charge..Nope!The foreman says thats an extra charge, and I suppose the fine print says this on the audible coupon. So I get 2 options, either I pay that extra charge for balancing your tires or we put your tires back in the same rotation you originally had them in and your car should be fine... oh and they keep the money for labor and the tire rotation even though its the same as when you drove in here.Joanna was nice, but nice didnt get me good service here, will update with the small business auto repair shop when I find it
Two strikes, you’re out, Toyota of Santa Monica!! Took my car here for an oil change about three months ago—asked them to refill the wiper fluid. When I pick it up, they tell me the passenger side sprayer wasn’t working, and it was about a $200 fix. No thanks—and guess what started working about a block down the road?! Fast forward to this past weekend—back for an oil change. When I pick it up, they tell me the check engine light is on, and it’s $188 to diagnose it. Well that sure wasn’t on when I dropped it off! Took it to auto zone, where diagnosis was free and turns out the gas cap just needed to be tightened. I’ll never step foot in this dealership again!!
Anthony Huerta is extremely rude. Tried buying a car and was ignored all day. Very bad customer service.
If youre ever looking for a quality car and great customer service Toyota of Santa Monica is the place youre looking for kevin is a excellent salesman he Was very knowledgeable about the car and was over all a pleasant person he made us want the car even more. Then Gene came over from financing introduced himself and thanked us for coming all the way from Carson that alone was great he was fast And efficient with our paperwork and had Us out of there in two hours thats amazing Ive Bought many cars over the years and by far this has been the best experience as well as the fastest experience that Ive ever had and I want to thank Kevin and Gene for the great customer servicethank youMahogany p
Sam Mull is the best service customer representative in Toyota Santa Monica. I serviced my car with him and his associates at Toyota for last 6 years. I am really happy he advanced into Toyota Service Manager.Marry Christmas and Happy holidays to all Toyota Santa Monica workers and helpers!
I bought a new car here in September. Part of the deal was that they would pay the last two months of my previous car lease. They failed to do that and have not returned my calls for months to find out what the issue is. I keep calling and get sent to a voicemail. They cheated me out of $600. Avoid at all costs.
I wanted to buy a Rav4 Prime, but they dont sell them in WA state. I found one here and agreed upon a price, then flew down. I was pretty nervous that they would try to pull something and Id have to fly back home, but everything was 100% as we agreed, I was out of there in 30 minutes driving my new car home.
I purchased a car in december, they LOST the sale of the car...meaning there was no record of the sale, so I never received financials, or even license plates... meaning I had to illegally drive with temp plates. They do not pick up the phone. They do not return calls. They made their sale (but not actually!!!) and they stopped caring. They put me in a horrible, illegal, dangerous situtation, and created a 3 month long nightmare that has been anxiety inducing and time consuming. In particular Kevin Lee.
Our overall experience was less than could be desired, but our “would-be” salesman was great! Anthony was attentive, honest, and not pushy at all. We had a sour experience with one of his cohorts though, and that led us to seek a car elsewhere. If It weren’t for that issue, then we would have certainly bought here with Anthony!
Not only did They try to charge me something completely different from what they told me on the phone, but they said i needed rear break pads when I didn’t. Pep boys actually showed me the difference in brake pads that i needed changed and ones that didn’t need to be. Toyota told me my brake pads would be $219 and when i got there they told me $499 per pad.I called Pep Boys and they said that was absolutely absurd and i walked out of pep boys $349 total for my brake pads and roters. Stay away from dealership if you can.
Toyota Santa Monica has always given me good service. I was taking my 2004 Toyota 4runner there for the longest time and it was always taken care of.They have been super helpful and Joanna has always been an awesome service rep. Between her and Sam Mull, Ive always had super good experiences. They treat me right and even repaired a faulty break line in September 2017 that was missed during a routine service. That was done free of charge due to the fact that it was missed.
Alex and Joe in sales helped me out, I know they mean well and were very nice. I had a serious ongoing issue with the black out emblem package. The guy who got the paper work together and tried to sell me on the extra coverage was deceitful and admitted that he lied to me about providing a breakdown of coverage print out. It was a terrible last experience before driving off in my new car.So the whole emblem package that was to be added onto my car was installed by 3rd party and I was under the impression that it was the factory black emblems, but came to find out after 2 rounds of errors that the 3rd party was just spray painting my original emblems. So after much back and forth I had them just deliver the factory black emblems to me and have a shop of my choice apply them to the vehicle. The first 3rd party improperly glued the emblems on, jeopardizing the paint on the vehicle and my shop was very hesitant to try and remove the super glue. Images attached of the glue were sent to me by the shop i had apply the factory ones. Absolute nightmare for months.
BEWARE. Fraudulent dealer with very shady and unethical business practices. Purchased a Toyota Mirai last Tuesday (3/3021) and today is April 6th 2021 and I still don’t have my car. I was told the car was In route and I should have it in a day or 2 so I ended up selling my car and now without one. I was told the car came pre-tinted, wheels blacked out and other added features and they were asking 4K extra. I agreed to pay half and ended up purchasing the car. Yesterday I talked to store manager, Stephen Allison, who mentioned to me the car was at the dealer and they had to finish tinting it. I cought them on a lie and he said the sales person, AJ gave me misinformation but refused to apologize for lying to charge me for things he said the car came with that did not. I told them I would write a negative review and as of today, they still don’t have my car ready and I have had to Uber everywhere. Their cars do not come pre tinted or other added features and it’s their shady way of taking more money from you. They are keeping my car at the dealer for no reason. Now I have no choice but to also file a complaint with BBB. If you could find another dealership, DO NOT purchase at this dealer.
False advertising on prices, horroible customer service if you can even call it that
Service department is a hot mess. Never on time, never follow up, lose information. Cant even reach a live person to talk to. The only reason Im even dealing with them is because of a safety recall, otherwise I would never consider them for service or maintenance.
Great service and a nice and clean waiting area
Great quick service at a reasonable price.
I don’t know why the rating is so high at Toyota Santa Monica ?! Maybe only sales. Definitely not car service!!!!! never come back again!I went to do 10k miles maintains here this morning, I know this is a big service that should be more service to do, but after 20 minutes later they tell me its done! I seriously doubt they did all the service on the list!everything here is so old and dirty: office, restroom, waiting room....Last time i did the 5K miles maintenance at Irvine, everything is new and got free car wash there.
Dont trust this dealer or their management! they dont care about customers, they only care about getting the highest price. They pressure people to come in so they can trap them at higher prices!
This review is specifically for Tony Doyle. I have spent a few months searching for a specific Tacoma. Never knew just how on demand these trucks are! I have dealt with about 4 different dealerships and can whole heartedly say that I was treated by far the best by Tony and SM Toyota. Tony truly worked his best to keep what is right for me in mind. At one point my deal wasn’t going to happen and he called me with the news. Instead of breaking the news with a negative undertone, he explained in the kindest and most positive way. Make no mistake about it- Tony is a salesman, but also someone who keeps the customer in mind and what will be best. My family has bought cars from him and now so have I. I LOVE my new Tacoma and will be a customer of Tony’s as long as I am in a Toyota.SM Toyota- I hope you realize you’ve got a salesman in Tony that is worth paying the big bucks too!
Aaron is a great salesperson. So pleasant and pleasing and understood every question that I asked. His suggestion was quite right on the purchase that I got! I just love it and Im so happy. Thank you so much Aaron. Your the best👍👍
Toyota Santa Monica has poor customer service from the sales staff. Wont provide a quote and was refusing to connect me to a manager.
Deceiving PracticePrior to meeting Alejandro Ramirez in person, we conversed over the phone and I made him aware of the written offer from Toyota of Huntington beach. The offer was a lease cost of $375/month for a 2020 Rav4 Hybrid LE with $2,000 down payment. Alejandro Ramirez assured of either honoring the offer or even beating the offer. After I test drove the vehicle, Alejandro Ramirez final offer was $475/month. This deceiving practice was quite unexpected and disappointing. I am not sure whether the Toyota of Santa Monica continuously in the business of deceiving potential customers or it was only the action of single individual: Alejandro Ramirez.I have attached the signed lease from Toyota of Huntington Beach where they not only honored their own offer, they also allowed 15,000 miles per year as their gratitude for leasing the vehicle from them.
Amazing service.
This review is for the sales department. I was Santa Monica on 1/2/21, and decided to walk in to ask to see the interior of a Prius Prime XLE, as I am very seriously trying to weigh purchasing the 2020 vs. 2021 model. There were at least 6 advisors, none of whom were with customers. I approached the advisor who sat closest to the door on the right, and asked to simply just unlock one of the new models for me to see the interior (not test drive it). He told me I needed an appointment, to which I asked again given there were no customers working with advisors. He was extremely sassy with me, and told me to go find which model on the lot myself, and that he would help me after he was done with his online work... (I had no idea where on their multiple lots the exact model I wanted was staged). I simply walked out. While I understand with COVID precautions this location prefers to have appointments, the way that this advisor handled the situation was extremely dissatisfying. He could have been more cordial and nicer while explaining this policy, despite there being no customers in the room.Needless to say, I will never return to this Toyota location. Rather, I will take my business to Culver City where I usually shop.
Very easy service drop off
I came into Toyota Santa Monica 2 weeks ago to service my 2015 Toyota Corolla. I prioritize servicing my car regularly and made it clear that I was ready to have all recommended services performed on my vehicle. Realizing I hadn’t checked my tires in quite some time, I asked Aaron if they could also check my tires in addition to receiving the 30,000 mile recommended service. Aaron was very kind and said it was already included as a part of the Toyota multi-point inspection. I picked up my car and paid nearly $700 yet was happy I wouldn’t have to service my car for several thousand miles more. I returned home to realize that they hadn’t mentioned anything about my tires and pulled out the documents summarizing my service to see what the results were from the tire inspection. At other Toyota Service Centers, I have been given a “Multi Point Inspection” paper summarizing their observations and with a detailed picture of the “tire tread” of my vehicle. It said “inspected tires” but there were no other details. I am not a car expert, but when I checked my back tires I noticed the ridges in my outer rear wheel were nearly smooth and flat. I took my car to Pep Boys and they were shocked at how worn my tire was. I would happily have paid for a new tire at Toyota Santa Monica but am most concerned they claim to have actually performed the inspection and did not bother to mention it needed to be replaced. Needless to say, I will not be returning. Attached is a picture of my tire.
Buyer Beware!!!! They do not fully inspect their used vehicles. I was going to purchase a used Toyota Matrix and due to Covid, set up the financing and purchase price with Hector Medina prior to arrival. Fair price and financing.I arrived to find that the transmission pan bolt was sealed with silicone. When it was removed I discovered that the bolt could not be removed it just spun freely. Dont know how I was supposed to be able to change the fluid without fixing this. Being that they are a dealer I assumed they would work with me to fix the issue so I agreed to pay at least half for the repair. They refused. I also found that the vehicle had no spare tire and an oil leak or seep that would be over 2000 to fix. Once again I agreed to pay for a portion of the repairs but they refused. I feel sorry for the person who buys this vehicle as the cost to get it in acceptable shape will be at least 3000. This clearly shows that Toyota of Santa Monica does not carefully inspect their vehicles or just doesnt care. Probably a little bit of both.Think about it........... Used cars have a huge profit margin because they are trade ins or from an auction. When was the last time you were given great money for your trade in? Rarely happens.... They give you next to nothing and turn around and sell the same car for thousands more. They were going to make money off financing my vehicle, the purchase price and maybe break even on the repair cost. In spite of this they would not budge. To make things worse Hector Medina was not even there. I dealt with Anthony who turned out to be quite nice and stuck in the middle of this mess.Overall not what you would expect from a Toyota dealer. All the good reviews are clearly submitted by the company. Im sure they also pay someone to manage this because their performance leads to no other conclusion. Hector Medina sent me a text after it was all done saying he was sorry I missed this opportunity.. Interesting response that didnt address the real issues. Thats what you can expect here. Will share this and pictures with corporate.....Hopefully no one buys this car.........
Good service short wait times, Will drive you home if you live near by but will not bring you back.
I made a reservation online to make sure I could get serviced as soon as I drove in. Within just a few minutes of arriving, Juan came out to greet me. In the past I have had to ask for someone to help me. He entered my vehicle information on his tablet and then proceed to use his tablet to walk around my car to take photos. For some reason, I never noticed this before. Juan explained they have been recording this way for a couple of years. It is faster and more efficient than entering damages by hand. He also explained what was still covered under my two year free maintenance and that an wheel alignment was recommended at this servicing and what it would cost. So no surprises after I left. I hate it when they call you to say they forgot to mention a particular service was needed when they knew this when I was in their shop. I was in and out after about 15 minutes. I did not wait around for my car. Juan called and left a message that my car was ready. Considering my past experiences with Toyota, this was one of the best. Thanks, Juan.
Most pleasant experience today, everyone was very friendly Alex Alonzo internet sales manager was very helpful. He made today happen smoothly giving me an amazing deal. I am so happy with my camry.
Kevin was so incredibly kind, helpful, and dedicated to helping me find what I was looking for. Even when they didnt have the exact model I was looking for, he continued to keep an eye out for me and keep me updated. He is definitely an asset to the sales team and I would request his help if I was looking for a car in the future.
We purchased a used Volvo here & in no part of the whole experience has this team lived up to Toyotas reputation. An axle job that was completed to prepare the car for sale was completed incorrectly. When we purchased the car we had it inspected by Volvo of Orange who discovered the axle repair was done incorrectly & leaking significant oil/lube. We struggled getting someone to take ownership of this repair with Toyota of Santa Monica but thankfully they did the right thing & fixed their work. Now its 3 months later & our lender has never received the title & we still dont have plates. As with the other issues we experienced, no one calls back or takes ownership. I literally dont know what to do at this point except to see if theres an organization like Better Business who may be able to advocate fir us.
Share reviewI would review with negative stars if that were possible.I originally wrote the review below on 09/22/2020, still no resolve, still being ignored, and still being passed around.I purchased a vehicle from this location in June 2020.When purchasing the vehicle, I decided to purchase the warranty mainly because it had a 30 day 100% money back guarantee. Close to three weeks after purchasing the vehicle, I decided that the warranty was not needed and went into their location to sign the warranty cancellation. Kevin told me that it could take anywhere from 2 weeks to max a month for the return to go through.1 month, 2 months, and now 3 months go by. Ive left 10 messages, close to a total of 30+ calls, and I still do not see the warranty being refunded. AND BY THE WAY.. the dealership never even informed Lexus/ Toyota financials that $3,000 of the total sales amount was for the warranty (I found this out about a couple weeks after signing the warranty cancellation). I pretty much tried to escalate the issue to the financial side, but they said because the dealership never input the warranty, there was nothing they can do to assist with canceling it. I brought this up to the dealership multiple times over the past couple months, at one point I was even told dont worry another 2 weeks and this should be done ... its now 2 and a half months since theyve said that.Side note: I had an opportunity to sell the vehicle at over $2K profit, but because the payoff amount still reflected the total sales with the warranty included, I had no other choice but to postpone selling the vehicle until the balance reflected the correct amount. ( I was going to sell to caravana and If you have a balance owed above their offer, they require a cashiers check) this would not be a big deal, but the warranty would deduct 3K from my total payoff amount. Ive lost my opportunity to sell this vehicle for a profit. This review is to give you an idea of the service you should be expecting. I mean, if you go in there and get your self a fully loaded Supra you might get an extra month of special service!... if you want to get a quick lease, In and out and you dont care for building up a relationship to maybe comeback after that said lease, this is the perfect place.I buy 2-3 cars a year and flip them to locals or to people that are new to Los Angeles. At first, I must say, I was really feeling this locations team and was sure I was going to return, But I can say now.. I wont be returning nor will I refer people to this location.Hope this review helps your decision on where you lease/ buy your car from.
Juan Herrera went above and beyond to help me - I showed up after hours and he happily stuck around to check my car in for service. He gave me an accurate estimate for the work that needed to be done and found a way to save me some money. Super nice and helpful guy that made the experience of unexpectedly needing to get my car fixed mostly painless.
They charged me for rotating my tires, but didnt. I had a nail in one tire they didnt even notice.
Truly great service. Got helped right away. Nelson Figueroa listened to everything I brought up, paying close attention to detail, which I really appreciated. They were done faster than expected with the vehicle. Nelson cared to explain in person, when I picked it back up, what was done about the issue I brought up and make sure I didn’t have any more questions.
My car is still new and under warranty and I take it to Toyota Santa Monica for service every six months. The service has always been great. Brandon Donis helped me this time around and he was courteous and professional. Service and check out were quick and hassle free.
Awful service, everyone is very rude and unhelpful. Joanna the lady who works in service is willing to blatantly lie in front of her manager to not get herself in trouble and the service manager is completely unhelpful as well. This dealership is lacking dignity and service to its customers.
Bought a used truck here online and the dealer didn’t disclose that it has a bad aftermarket paint job. This is my fault for only looking at photos of the vehicle online before purchasing, but it wasn’t ethical business practice. 2 years later and the truck needs a new paint job. Thanks Toyota of Santa Monica for wasting my hard earned money!!! Do not buy used from this dealership. Shady...
I dont recommend this dealer prices are out of control.the mark up in the cars are crazy..
Aaron Wimberley was very helpful. He took care of my car as soon as I got there, explained what needed to be done and why, how much it would cost and when it would be ready. He called me right on time to let me know the car was ready. The hole experience was a very good one with no surprises. Thanks Aaron!
Thank you so much Anthony Huerta for helping my family and me out to pick out my first car. He went out of his way to commend our needs and worked around us! (: I am enjoying my new ride !
Ive purchased two cars from them now and I can say I would be hard pressed to go anywhere else for a future car. Ive had an amazing experience both times. They were incredibly straightforward and honored everything they said. One of the cars I purchased was new the other was used with some minor damage. They promised to fix the damage after I purchased the car and I was a bit skeptical that it would be done well, but they did an amazing job and got it done super quickly. They even offered to get me a rental car while it was in the shop. I was blown away by how well they handled this. Would highly recommend them to anyone buying a Toyota new or used!!!
This is a long over due THANK YOU to Erica Simmons! I purchased my Highlander from Toyota Santa Monica 15 years ago this month. Yes, you read that right 15 years ago. Its never been serviced anywhere else. I loved my service rep, Holly, and was sad when she left due to a promotion. Ive been waiting for someone to take her place and I can finally say that Ive found her. Erica was wonderful when I brought my car in for regular service, but she really impressed me when I had to bring my car in because the dreaded check engine light came on along with a few other lights. I was able to bring my car in right away. Erica was wonderful and so was the tech who worked on my car. Erica put my mind at ease. I dont understand cars and I melt like a candle when they dont work, which why I bought a Toyota. I appreciated that she and the tech worked together to fix the issue and give me options if it happened again. My Highlander has 128,000 miles and runs perfectly thanks to Erica and everyone at Santa Monica Toyota. Erica, you are stuck with me!I also wanted to give a shout-out to Ryan in the rental car department. He always has a smile on his face, so you forget whatever your car is in there for. He takes great pride in the quality of the rental cars so you dont have to worry that your rental is going to look like a clown car or that it belongs to your Aunt Tilly. This last time, I received a Camry. It was gorgeous and I found myself smiling while I was driving it. Who smiles when they are driving in LA, wait...who smiles when they are driving to work on the 405? Me! Im still dreaming of that Camry! Even my boss was jealous! His extra large BMW was in the shop and his dealership gave him a mini-van!
It was a great experience visiting Toyota Santa Monica. Beth Cole was extremely helpful introducing the car to me, describing the feature, and providing help/explanations throughout. It was an excellent experience with the sales manager and financial manager during the visit too. I give five stars to everyone I talked to at Toyota Santa Monica, in particular Beth!
Dont order parts here. Cant ever reach them on the phone. Ended up driving in to find that my part wasnt ready after calling them multiple times on different days. Once there I find that my part was now back order and they hadnt told me after intially saying it would be available to pick up the next day.Take your business to any of the other much better run LA Toyota dealerships.
Service here was great thanks to Joanna Tsymbaliuk! She was very friendly understanding, and thorough. Everything was completed in a timely manner and she even helped me get a new battery replacement for my car when I just missed the warranty! Thanks for your help, Joanna!
From start to finish was a great experience. From the lyft they got me to go to work to the check ins from Thomas I was very happy. Thomas was kind and knowledgeable and thorough.
The team at Toyota Santa Monica was just superb! Everyone worked together seamlessly to make my car-buying experience as satisfying and efficient as possible. Special thanks to Ulises.
They were really convenient and set me up immediately even though I brought it in at the last moment when I saw it needed the maintenance review on it. Thomas Soveg was really helpful at making sure it was all ready and done by the next day which was very much appreciated as I needed it for work. Thank you!
The only dealership I will go to. Hamid was beyond helpful, the dealership worked with my brother and I to get the right price and deal on our TWO cars. I cannot say enough about their integrity, honesty, and customer service.
Easily scheduled routine maintenance for my SUV via their website. The adviser, Joseph Hernandez, was very helpful and efficient. I mentioned a problem with my transmission and he immediately asked a technician to go on a test drive with me to replicate the issue. Excellent service and would definitely recommend.
Anthony Huerta was extremely informative, helpful and personable. He made the process for getting a new lease at Toyota Santa Monica quick and easy. We left happy and know that we have someone we can trust at the dealership in case any issues arise.
BEWARE - DECEPTIVE ONLINE PRICING!Ive been shopping for a 2020 RAV4 Hyrbid. I visited Toyota Santa Monicas website and looked at their inventory. For each car they have posted Our Price (i.e., the dealers price), and, as usual, a notation that it does not include tax, license and fees. I expect such costs to total approximately 10% of the final price, which can vary a bit based on the final sales price. When I contacted the dealer and asked for an emailed quote, I was SHOCKED to learn that their fees included a $3,000 markup above MSRP, as well as a $795 LA CAR GUY fee, and a $495 DPR fee. THATS AN EXTRA $4,290 in dealership fees that are NOT clearly reported as part of Our Price. Additionally, you must then pay taxes and license fees based on this unnecessarily inflated price.I phoned and asked a sales manager (Hector) about this, and his reply was that you would learn about this when you came to the dealership and saw the window sticker on the vehicle. What a wonderful surprise awaits potential customers.I will never do business with anyone engaged in such misleading pricing practices. It is shady and seems like a bait and switch. So, be careful if you decide to car shop with Toyota Santa Monica.ADD: I subsequently received a call from the general manage, Joe Magana, He explained that Toyota corporate will not allow dealers to reflect added local fees and costs (e.g., locally installed upgrades, like custom wheels) on their website prices. I do not know about this. Other brands will let you see the actual window sticker on-line, which is perfect transparency. He who was willing to waive the markup, which I appreciated. When I asked about the factory lease program offer, he told me that because the vehicle is so popular, no one will meet the factory offer, which seems like a bait-and-switch between the corporate website and local dealers. Because of Mr. Maganas call, I am raising my rating by one star.
I had the best service imaginable at your service center. Joanne was friendly, knowledgable, communicative and went out of her way to make my experience personable. She called me throughout the day, updating me on my cars status, and even got it done sooner than promised. She went over future services with me. She went above and beyond!
Don’t believe their advertisement they will advertise one price and when we contact them they will say the advertisement is a mistake and they will offer a car at higher priceI don’t trust this dealership
Awesome place to get a Toyota. Sales person Anthony was so helpful. I can’t find the words to how much he and his team helped us get into a lease vehicle with such a great deal. If you guys are looking for a great sales man, go to this place and ask for Anthony. You won’t be disappointed.
I recently visited Toyota Santa Monica to get some long overdue maintenance for my vehicle. Phil Thai was my service representative and I could not ask for anything better. He provided outstanding service, excellent suggestions on what options I had as well as how each would affect the vehicle, a very friendly and courteous personality, and a technical expertise I was very thankful for as a layperson. I am very satisfied with the work done on the vehicle and will probably return to Toyota Santa Monica if I need any additional maintenance.
After my car was vandalized, and catalytic converter stolen, I was very upset. I had my car towed to Santa Monica Toyota where Sam Mull took excellent care of us. He assured me I’d have my car back by the early afternoon, and he delivered as promised. While I waited comfortably in their plush waiting area, I enjoyed complimentary coffee and bagel with cream cheese and was able to get some work done too. Thank you Sam, and Santa Monica Toyota, for getting me back on the road so fast in my Prius which I love.
I love this place. They are very expedient, helpful, and the bathroom code is easy. Joanna is great. I leave my car there, and walk around Santa Monica. Dont just get your car serviced, there, make a day-trip out of it. I highly recommend the turkey and egg muffin at Philz Coffee, and a glass of orange juice, on Santa Monica Boulevard. Blessings, Brian
Had a terrific service experience with team at Toyota Santa Monica. The personable and helpful, Phi Thai helped me navigate getting emergency work done on a busy Saturday so I did not have to leave my car overnight. The initial calls to the department were also really helpful and informative. I was stuck in a part of town I did not know at all and I felt more confident handling my cars breakdown with their support.
My service experience was great up until the time I had to collect my car and sign the paperwork for a $0.00 charge work order. Waited in line while the lady worked on a car rental customer and no one else showed up at the desk for 15 minutes. Customers time is valuable too and once the work is completed we need to move on with our business day and cannot wait for 15 minutes until someone else staffs the cashier counter.
