Never had a bad experience with these folks. I wish I wouldve found them before I did. I have sent everyone i know to these people with any issue bc theyre so HONEST. They will treat you fairly and with respect. Thankful there are still people like J&W out there.

I called for prices on tires for my girlfriend and they couldnt have been nicer. This is my first time dealing with them and the tires are new but so far so good. Also, they didnt try to upsell on other services like bigger chain auto service centers.

These guys could have very easily handed me an estimate for work I needed but instead he took the time out of his day to help me get taken care of because whoever changed my oil last did something incorrect which caused the line to blow out. Really truly blown away by the customer service and honesty at this car shop. Everyone needs an honest mechanic like those at J. & W.

I have been a customer of J&W for a few years, and have not been disappointed. I am not one to shop price, I care more about honesty and quality work, which I always receive from J&W. Most people I talk with after tell me the prices are fair as well, compared to where they go. If you need auto work done, great place to take your vehicle.

Id recommend this place to any friend or family member. It seems so hard to find a good/honest mechanic these days. Jake & Ed & the very sweet receptionist were all so great. They followed up daily with phone calls to give me status on my truck and what was wrong. They were able to find the part I needed used at a fabulous price and their labor rates are great. Very honest and Pleasant folks to work with.

In Short:I am extremely grateful to have found this shop when I did.They did the excellent, quick, reasonably priced work you would expect from any good shop, AND went above and beyond as people to help me in a time of crisis.You can really put your faith in Jake and Kathy to get you back on the road safe and sound!Full Story:I’m from Austin Texas, and moved to Illinois a few years back. Recently I decided to move back, so before loading everything I own into a small U-Haul I took my Jeep to a local shop.There I asked that the mechs look over EVERYTHING and ensure my vehicle was in shape for the towing, heat, and long drive.I was told in Illinois that the Jeep was is good shape for the trip, and that only the rear brake pads were in need of replacing.Lies.6 hours into my 20 hour drive, my Jeep started to groan and lose power. To my rage/horror the Jeep died... On an uphill... In an intersection... in summer rush hour... with a trailer of all my furniture strapped to the back... AND I HAD MY DOG IN THE CAR.At that moment I felt cheated and helpless. I had very little extra cash, and no family for 1000+ miles. All I could do was call my dad for some money and AAA for a tow to the nearest shop.That’s when my luck changed and I met Jake and Kathy at JW Auto.They did everything a godly person should and more to set things right.First, when my Dad called ahead to ask if they had room for the UHaul Jake offered to use his own car to tow the trailer so it would be safer.Then, though I could see he had many projects and other peoples orders on schedule, Jake went straight to work on my Jeep.What he found shocked me.I had overrun most of my plugs, my O2 sensor was shot, and my catalytic converter was COMPLETELY blocked. (All of these should have been found in the initial inspection, but I’ll leave that for THEIR review.)Jake said it would be impossible to get done right away, and I realized I was stuck in St Louis for at least one night.I didn’t have time to worry though.By the time I had returned to the lobby after my talk with Jake, Kathy (reception) had already called ahead to a local hotel and secured a room for me AND my dog!She drove me there, and picked me up right on time in the morning for checkout.Back at the shop, I found that Jake had kept his word and jumped right to work in the AM.By 2pm that day, I was on the road.From that moment on, my Jeep ran BETTER than it has in years! I made it home smooth, and my family and I got to embrace safe and sound.The most impressive thing about it?Their humility.They both said the same thing when I tried to express my grattitude.“If it was my family, I’d just hope someone would do their best to help see them home.”Jake is a damn fine mechanic, and a damn good man, yet he acts like it’s just another day.Kathy is humble and kind. She made one of my worst moments into a small hiccup. I work within walking distance from this shop and so it would be convenient to drop my cars off there. On 2 occasions, they failed me. 1st time was when I need my car inspected and told them that it needed an exhaust gasket replaced. At thier request, I purchased the exhaust gasket from Autozone and dropped it off with the vehicle. When I picked up the car, they stated that it didnt need the exhaust gasket and just need tightening up. I put the broken exhaust gasket on myself, so I know that it did need it and I could still hear the leak. I ended up fixing it myself. They didnt do what I requested, which was to replace the gasket wether or not it needed it. Second occasion, I had a flat tire at lunch and so I took it to them to see if they could fix it so that I could get home, after work. I dropped the car off and about an hour later, they called stating that it needed a new tire, and they dont have any in stock. I said that was fine and to put the spare on it for now. When I got there, they had only aired the tire up.They hadnt even taken that wheel off of the car. I had to put the spare on it myself. Then the spare was also flat and I had to deal with that myself too. I took the tire to another shop and they said there was nothing wrong with it except a nail, which they fixed. Im still driving on the tire today. Thanks to JW automotive for leaving me stranded with no assistance at all! I will never take a car back to these guys again!

Weve been using them for years and know we can rely on them to be honest and very competent.

Moving from California to Missouri was a big change, and the car registration process has been difficult. After getting a blinker repaired at one place, my car failed to pass the required safety test because of a deficient sway bar. Not sure why the place I took it to first didnt intend to fix it - they were flakey and they sent me packing. I took my car to J&W to find that the only problem was that a bolt was missing. Instead of replacing the whole thing they just put on a bolt and voila. Fixed and passed the test. Theyre courteous, kind, fast, and honest. Ill go to them every time.

Great place to get your car fixed. They didnt try to screw you over either, they tell you what needs to be fixed and whether or not it can wait or need to be done immediately.
