Brought in vehicle for alignment. Pep Boys mechanic drove my company ADA van for personal use, they filled it with 10 tires and took it to the other PEP BOYS. This is a commercial vehicle. I noticed this since I have GPS tracking on all my vehicles. Dont trust these guys. URI promised a full interior detail reimbursement and went back on his word. Will be following up with legal team on this matter. I have GPS tracking of the vehicle being driven around and a picture when I tracked the vehicle down.

I am from Virginia, visiting my son in Scottsdale. Brandon was very professional & got me in immediately to repair a flat on my son’s BMW X3M. Other local establishments told me 6-8 hr wait. Mechanic Andy did a very professional repair and explained to me what he was doing along the way. This place was truly awesome and I will have my son come back whenever needed. My favorite auto shop for a fast and professional oil change. The store manager Gayle is always great to work with in scheduling and ensuring the work is done right. Since I travel for work and drive a lot it’s important to have that piece of mind that the oil change is done right. Gayle is the reason I keep returning to this pep Boys shop.

Should be no stars but its not an option.My wife went there with a flat tire at 6pm and they dont close until 7pm. There were 3 guys just standing around vaping and not working. There were no cars in any of the work bays. My wife went in to see if they could plug her tire. She was told that they couldnt help her but if she came back tomorrow at noon they could. She asked why no one was working if they didnt close until 7pm. She was told they werent going to start anything else tonight.I will never use Pep Boys again or recommend them to anyone. I am so disappointed in those guys that would not help a woman in distress. Is that what this world has come to? Lazy and uncaring people.

Great experience at this location. Worked with a guy named Rudy, needed front axles replaced on my Subaru and he helped get me a discount on overall costs and parts and explained what work needed done in detail. Very quick turn around, dropped car off Tuesday evening and it was done the next day. Super grateful for the fast technical service and would highly recommend this location in Scottsdale if you are looking to service a vehicle. Keep up the amazing work guys!

They provided a great price for my tires and I would definitely to back.I do think this store would benefit from additional assistance on their busy days. The front desk person was very busy and because of that I had to actually go into the store as no one picked up the phone when I called multiple times.

Had to get my right rear tire repaired because of a screw that was stuck in there. The tire was only about 6 weeks old (bought and installed by Pep Boys in Chandler). Pep Boys repaired it for free, put the spare tire back in place in the trunk and cleaned everything in the trunk compartment. I am very grateful. Very well done guys. Matthias 12/9/2020

Reported to BBB, dont ever tow your car there, tried to charge me $760.00 for a starter then when I tried to tow my car somewhere else said I owed money which was not mentioned before hand, (spoke several times with Sam) until the tow driver was there, Jarold(fake manager) ice cold and Sam fake friendly be warned! The tow Company called me when I was never informed by pep boys that I owed any money, you guys should be ashamed...by the way cost me $280 to replace my starter somewhere else, plus your rip off charge $80 some dollars..hope you guys are happy for doing nothing but being scam artists....you tried to hold me hostige, you will never get another dime from me or anyone that I can talk to about my experience...again you should be ashamed.

Excellent service, arrived a few minutes before close. I needed to replace a mounting bolt that sheared off my alternator. It didnt show up in their system, but Dillon went out of his way to dig through the bins of bolts to find a perfect match. He then loaned me and my brother some wrenches, and a couple words of wisdom and we were on our way in an hour total, give or take. Strong recommendation.

On my way from Texas to California I got a flat on 6 month old tires. Called these guys to get a warranty replacement and they were more than happy to squeeze me into their schedule since I was on a time hack.They plugged the tire for free to save me the deductible on the warranty replacement and even told me where the best food within walking distance was. Had more of a small town mechanic feel than big box store.

Awesome auto parts store. Not only was the place clean and organized, but they also had a huge selection of different parts for all kinds of makes and models and years of automobiles. Their service center had knowledgeable technicians. Myself, being an auto tech, was able to have a productive conversation and problem solving experience with their staff.

Set an appointment for 3pm on a Sunday. Maybe skip coming on a Sunday. The reviews from others are good but 3:40 and still havent gotten to my car. Another customer just said she was here for almost 3 hours and if she would have known she would have scheduled for a different time or got dropped off. No water in the waiting area. Really. Arizona in July and no water. Car dealerships to discount tire has water. This pepboys wait area is filthy too. Cardboard box hanging off the water fountain. Classy out of order sign, no? I gave 2 stars as the tech who did the service job was much faster then the last time i had the same service work performed.

No receipt, no alignment printout, wheels were damaged when I had tires installed. I had to have another shop rebalance the rear tires because of a horrible vibration in rear. All four tires that were installed were overfilled by 10 psi according to tire placard and this can throw balance off also. Called to get resolution and was put on hold for 10 minutes.... never again.

I brought my 2002 Xterra there to have the a.c. worked on. It hasnt blown cold in several years and I was worried that it would cost an arm and a leg to get it fixed. The managers Gerald and Kurtis were super friendly, knowledgable, and took great care of me. My ac blows really cold now and I have them to thank for it. Keep up the good work guys!

While traveling from out of town, on business, we started experiencing a bad vibration on our truck, so we came in, without an appointment on a Friday, to get help as we were limited on time & needed to travel back home (4 hours away in the mountains) but didn’t feel safe to do so with the vibration. Turns out we had a tread separation happening on a rear tire. A very friendly employee, named Gary, went above & beyond to help us get tires ordered & brought over from a different Pep Boy location. All said & done it only took about 4 hours, which under the circumstances was unbelievable. We can’t thank Gary enough for the excellent care & friendly customer service!!!

They wont keep you waiting longer than their promised time of completion unlike other locations where you can spend a good part of your day for something as simple as an oil change. Besides that, the manager is such a friendly person that I didnt mind having to ask him a question or have him explain anything. Theres not much to do while your car is being serviced in the area but fortunately their waiting area is equipped with a TV hooked up to cable and theyre kind enough to give you control of the remote. This is definitely one of the better Pep Boys locations.

Do not know how to install aftermarket parts. However, they referred me to a place that did a great job. They said they didnt want to just try and install the parts and mess up my car. Very truthful and upfront with you. Literally everything else about the place is great. They have some really cool stuff that I will check out in the future.

10 am appointment for oil change. Finished at 1230. Two mechanics. One said hes a specialist so he doesnt do oil change. Had to wait for other mechanic to do repairs on several cars. Gary in parts said he doesnt like to do oil change. Spoke to Dillion who is only store manager, which doesnt work with repair. Dillion, manager was hanging out with the mechanic that doesnt do oil changes for about an hour. I needed a few repairs for me Jeep but tech was to busy. NEVER GOING BACK. I promise I will spread the word

Pulled into their area, sat there, no one came out, so I parked and went in. Had to wait awhile, and then they said they couldn’t fit my Roadtrek van in their garage, I looked at the garage, and it would have fit in fine. They were just lazy! Asked where a tool was I needed to buy, and they were too tired to show me where, just that it was somewhere in aisle 4.Went across the street to jiffy lube, they came out and greeted me, took the keys, and said it’s be ready in 15. What a difference!

I have been going to this store for the last 3-4 years. I travel a lot for work, so I have basically been there monthly for an oil change, and all work for my vehicles.The mechanics do a great job, remember my vehicle, and all issues with it.The service writers need to remember to write down all that they hear. For the second time, I had asked that they look at a sensor that is activating the abs/brake light in my vehicle. For the second time, I picked up my truck, and they didnt look at it. When I asked the mechanic when he backed my truck out if he looked, he said it wasnt on the paperwork.I asked the service writer about it, he said it was on the paperwork, lies, I looked at what I was presented (from the printer) and the hand written copy, no mention of the brake system, that I had asked to have looked at.Bring back the old service managers, they knew how to build a following of guests, and they took a look at everything that was asked.

I was just changing oil, and it was my first time there, but Ive left with a smile. My Lincoln comes from Illinois - I was used to an excellent service at Lincoln dealer. They would even wash my car additionally with service. Had no too good experience anywhere around since I moved to Arizona. Until today! Always love pep boys. I do all the work I can on my cars but when there is something such as an alignment, coolant or ac flushes then I take it to pep boys. They always have a quick turn around and they offer great rates for the work. I dont trust many places but I do this Pep Boys.

Honest mechanics here. I scheduled an appointment to drop my car off with Jeff and he was very kind. They even got me a Lyft to take me to work.Even though I didnt proceed with the suggested maintenance ($1400 to fix AC on a 94 Saturn), they did what they could to lower the price of the diagnosis.Thanks Jeff and Greg!

Pep Boys gained a very loyal customer today! I will not be going anywhere else for my services. I was helped today by the lovely service manager Stella Johnson. She was absolutely FANTASTIC and made sure everything I needed was taken care of. The repairs to my car ended up being a very simple fix, which surprisingly the jiffy lube down the street was unable to help with. Stella and pep boys are fantastic!! Go there!

I was told that they had a master tech who would help me with the problem I was having with my car headlights . I have to use my high beams to see to drive . Now I have no taillights and I cant drive my car . I am upset that they didnt want to fix the problem because of how my front bumper is . I said to go ahead and fix the headlights and they turned me down . I am disappointed that they wouldnt at least try . Now I have to go to the Chevrolet dealership in Chandler and hope that they will fix the problem . I should have went to the dealership and not have wasted time and money on trying to find a lower price shop . Thank you

It was really busy today; on account that it is Saturday. I walked in and explained that my car is dead in their parking lot and was unable to sustain a charge even with assistance. He was unable to schedule me for repair for 3-4 hours. I asked if it was okay if I bought a battery and installed it myself. He said that was fine. I was half way through with removing the battery when he came out to the parking lot and helped out. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes.This is not my first good experience, and felt it deserved a good review.

I just bought a used car recently and the front tires were wearing out faster than expected so it was getting to be really scary driving on them. I stopped by and cave them my info, but they were solid booked, so Logan from the tire service department went over and above and asked if he can call the closest store that has been a bit dead that day if they can squeeze me in. they were able to get me set up with my tires and everything that day.

I believe his name was Mark Sanchez. He was relatively new, as he didnt have a business cars yet.Mark went out his way to help me. He checked the wipers that I had bought at another Pep Boys. Skip this place. Had a problem with car won’t starting. They didn’t diagnose the problem correctly. Had to have the car towed to a real mechanic. While we were waiting someone came to pick up their car left 5 hours earlier for an oil change that never got done. Looks unorganized, uneducated and Mis-managed.

Stopped in to get wiper blades. everyone was very friendly and put them on for me. I realized later that they didnt fit right so went back. Rick bent over backwards to try and get one to fit. The manager came out to look and she too helped to find some that would fit. They tried a lot of them and finally found ones that worked. they really went all out for me and I thank them. Would definitely go back again.

I dropped off my car for just an oil change in the early afternoon, which was said to be only take 45 minutes. After two hours without hearing back I called the store for an update, and was told that I could come get my car.When I arrived they were unable to find my keys, but also had my car on a lift with all of the tires removed. When I asked why they had removed the tires, they said it was part of their standard oil change package to check the brakes. This was not mentioned at all previously, and now was still not completed over an hour after I was initially told to retrieve my vehicle.I waited another 20 minutes while they reaffixed my tires and another 10 before they found my keys.The worst part was that after all of this the clerk still tried to upsell me on their recommended services.

Thank you for wasting my time and gas despite being a customer who purchased his Cooper Rs3-As at your store. I called an hour and a half ahead to schedule an appointment for a quick tire rotation. I waited, then drove to pepboys and said I was there for my rotation appointment. The guy looked at me with a puzzled expression but looked up my name and yep there I was on the list. Oh but sorry, they cant take any more cars because they are too busy he says. Are you kidding me? First off, why even bother scheduling a time for me to come in if you know youre too busy? Second, why not call and tell me it has to be rescheduled instead of letting me drive there to find out? Hour and a half and my gas wasted due to their poor planning and lack of concern for the customer. This review would be 1 star except Chad the manager was helpful in the past.

Alignment was too freaking expensive. they wanted $2500 to put a new front end under my truck, showed me 20 hours of flat rate repairs. I did it myself on the driveway on jack stands in 8 hours. The pitman arm, idler arm and tie rods ends were fine, but the control arm bushings actually needed to be replaced. I did the whole thing including 4 ball joints before they would align the truck on the second visit. Just passed another shop doing alignments for 60% of the cost ($100 v 60)... live and learn

They dented my car! And I got the worst costumer service in town !!The manager Brandon was pretty bad too.I made an appointment for Monday to get my mounts checked and told them about the issues. When I got there they were clueless so I provided my info and told them about my car and the mounts again, so I had to get in line(not how appointments work).I wanted to know which ones were bad, price of installing new ones plus the general check. So I left the car for inspection. After a few hours they called and said my front right mount needed to be replaced. I asked, is that all? the person on the phone was clueless again, I asked what about the trans mount? I new it was bad because I had just purchased the car and I was aware of it and I asked them to check it. They told me theyll call me back about it, this is when I knew I made a mistake by going to Pep-boys. Yeah the trans mount also needs replaced he said. I asked what about the check engine light on? I told him Autozone said it was the thermostat. The man abruptly told me it cost $100 to get that checked. So they didnt do a general inspection or the check engine light on which is a free service provided in most places.When I received the car I drove it down the street and realized the fender was dented so I went back immediately and told the manager Brandon about it. I pointed there was still grease next to the dent! He said he would personally call me back and I should trust him because he served in the navy for 4 years. The next day no one called me back and you what? Im not even surprised. I called them instead and I asked about my case, the manager on duty was clueless again and had no idea about me or my car. I explained everything to him once again and he said he would call me tomorrow. The next day (3rd day) I get a call and I missed it so I heard the voicemail saying they looked at the cameras and found nothing and they were not going to respond for it! UNBELIEBABLE !!Im %100 sure my car wasnt dented, I bought it 5 days before and fully inspected it! That is the only dent on my car and is definitely an eye sore.Worst experience Ive had at an auto service, I would never and will never recommend this place to anyone ever! I will go out of my way to make sure no one else make such a stupid mistake as to trust their beloved vehicle to such a mediocre bunch.

Needed a new set of tires and the location on McClintock and Main was jerking me around so decided to pop in here first. SO glad I did!Mark was super friendly and accommodating. Even though theyd been really busy (stopped in just before 3 p.m. on a Saturday), he checked with the mechanics and said he was able to get me in. The mechanic (Willy?) was also super friendly and honest. Additional things he mentioned I should fix were already things I knew were wrong with my SUV. My total even came out to be a little less than I was expecting. Bonus!I stayed and waited for my new tires to get put on (about an hour and a half) and they had a little waiting area that could contain my two crazy babies (2 & 1 years old). There was a working tv with cable, AC, plenty of chairs and enough floor space for my double stroller.Every staff member I came in contact with was super friendly. Ill definitely be back when my car needs something husband cant fix!

I scheduled an appointment for an oil change. When I got there, they said I have to wait at least 40 minutes. Really? Do you understand how appointment works?I came in on 2 different occasions. The first time I came in, the employee looked at me annoyed that she has to work. I gave her benefit of the doubt that it might be a bad day. Nope, the second time, same thing from another guy. I apologize for paying your salary.With an oil change comes a complimentary vehicle inspection. The report said I need 4 new tires and an alignment. I just have Costco replaced my tires a month ago and didnt even drive 1k miles on them and my alignment was done 2 weeks prior. From there, I stopped listening. What a waste of time.

Scheduled a transmission fluid, filter, gasket change and power steering fluid change online. Appointment was accepted and seen next day. Representative showed me the breakdown and it was as expected in price. I will say even though my appointment was at 2:00PM and I did not get my vehicle back until 7:00PM they did a fantastic job (I had my gf take me home and Lyft back, plus it was a Saturday). They even found that I had a worn trans line and a bolt missing in my transmission pan and fixed the issues at no extra charge. Also, gave me a 15% discount on their services (must of had a special going on). Highly recommend!

By far the best service among the Pepboys branches Ive been to. The service manager, Brandon Groathouse, is really nice and helpful. Ive been to Tempe branch on Apache and Phoenix branch on McDowell but they were really bad and tried to rip me off.

They are very sweet and helpful. This was my first time getting my car fixed and they were alot of help! Now my car is running smoothly and it was cheap. They gave me a deal and beat all of the other competitor prices! ( I was shopping around where to go). I highly recoment going and talking to Stella Johnson if you need help. She really took car of me and my car. Thank you guys!

The only reason I am giving this shop any stars is because of Gayle the manager she is extremely helpful and has great customer service...On the other hand Jeff and the other gentleman thag work there are very rude and love to put you off. My vehicle has been in this repair shop twice. Once for 9 days I go and pick up my car and it doesnt shift into gear a or runs at all. They ordered the wrong part and according to Jeff that is normal. So being a single mom having to pay over $400 for a rental car is horrible. Ever since I got my vehicle back it makes horrible noises and my trany is sliping. Drop my vehicle off this morning was promised by Gayle that my vehicle would priority because it is a come back. Unfortunately she called out sick so I have to deal with Jeff and it now 4:33 pm no call no explanation about my vehicle. My advice take your vehicle some where else

So Ive come in to this shop for my drivers side power window not going up and down reliably due to a loose wire terminal.Im leaving with my passenger window not working at all because Willy broke the wire terminal and Pep Boys didnt have one that would work. I searched AutoZone, Ace Hardware, Amazon and Ebay but could not find the specific terminal as it is not sold separately or in any kits, forcing me to have to buy a whole new plug that connects to my window switch. In the meantime, I had to tighten the current terminals so they wont wiggle off the plug, what should have been done in the first place.My drivers side window not mounted right by Daniel Flynn. After they worked on my door, the manager David told me the loud clunking and door flexing is because my door and door panel are old. I even told him thats wrong and not how my car came in. It was actually because both Daniel and Willy left my regulator screws loose, causing the regulator to hit and drag across the inner door metal causing the door to clunk and flex. The regulator itself was moving too much in the full up and down position. Simple fix- I adjusted and tightened the regulator screws.They charged me for a switch (mine was only 2 years old) and motor (3 years old) that I did not need because their electrical eval didnt notice the wire terminals were loose and Im out $250.They had the car for three days including keeping the car for an unauthorized overnight stay without bothering to call me about it.I was forced to miss two days of work and I still have to take out more of my time to correct Pep Boys mistakes.Pep Boys Lyft service is literally their ONLY redeeming quality as diagnosis, workmanship, customer service and communication are all complete garbage. Pep Boys actually costs you more money and time than taking your car to another shop and paying for your own Lyft back and forth.Pep Boys should not advertise themselves as a full repair shop. They should stick to what they can handle which is oil changes, batteries and tires ONLY, and even these services they do questionably at best.I notice the owner takes the time out to respond to the reviews, which I appreciate. Perhaps, instead of responding to complaints online the owner should actually be on site supervising work, making sure jobs are done correctly and that customers are leaving satisfied.

Took my car there today (3/3/2019) for a 12pm oil change. I arrived at 11:45, came back an hour later and my car was still where I parked it. I went up to the counter, got my keys and left. So much for a scheduled appointment, will try again on my next day off. Thanks for wasting my time Pep Boys, ridiculous.Took my car there and they had to replace some coils I had done at a different Pep Boys a few months ago. They quoted me $500some dollars for a new fuel filter. I told him I had less than $400. He worked with me on the price and got it into that range. When I went in to get my car and it was $500. I didnt have $500, told them that twice. They told me they would take the $90 fee to look at the car and put it toward the repair. When I brought that up, the guy cashing me out said we do that sometimes but he didnt tell me to do it this time Ok, so I just made that up? Ridiculous, they never called me back and gave me a quote before they started the work. They did get the work done the same day, but I was lied to.
