I think all these 4 and 5 starts are crazy. They are overpriced, dishonest and ALWAYS over-sell. When is the last time you dropped your vehicle off at Sun Devil and the store manager didn’t call you back saying your car needed additional work? NEVER! They always call back and tell you you need this and that… I bought new tires for my truck at Discount Tire. Discount is a great company but they don’t align their tires. After the purchase of my new tires ($1,200), I immediately had Sun Devil align my tires. This summer my family and I did a few big road trips. We drove 3,000 miles and upon my return to Scottsdale, my front tires were completely shredded. I again went and bought new tires from Discount Tire. I immediately went back to Sun Devil and had the tires aligned. I did another road trip to get out of the Arizona summer heat. Upon my return, 1,500 miles later, my front tires were completely shredded, AGAIN! I visited Discount Tire and two other alignment shops. They both told me Sun Devil had mis-aligned my tires, twice. I went to a reputable alignment shop and they told me the tires were completely out of alignment and couldn’t believe I had my vehicle aligned twice in the last 70 days. I returned to Sun Devil (multiple times) and complained. Sun Devil told me they had an old outdated alignment computer/machine. After the second purchase of new tires, Sun Devil told me they had just bought a new alignment machine (Bell Road location). I don’t think they trained their staff on how to use the new alignment machine! It was more than obvious this whole ordeal was Sun Devils fault for both faulty alignments. They offered me nothing. They didn’t apologize. They couldn’t of cared less. I think they suck! In addition, every time I bring my vehicle in, they are constantly trying to sell me services that I don’t need and especially services that I had just had done at my new vehicle repair shop. I think they don’t have a clue how to align a vehicle (obviously), and they are dishonest. For instance, the store manager told me I needed new shocks. Funny as I just had the entire suspension system, including the shocks replaced. Over the years, I never seemed to have a bill at Sun Devil for under $1,000. Bye-Bye, Sun Devil.

Called them up they asked for 155 dollars to take my door off and see what the problem was. Told him what the problem was. And that the door panel i already took off. He was silent then made something up.. Total SCAM called Firestone Complete Auto Care. In told him what was going on 5 min later had an appointment and a price 390 dollars cheaper...

Out of all the places in North Scottsdale, this is my #1 place to take for my car for everything. I typically dread taking my car to the shop for anything, even a simple oil change. Prices are great and all the guys there so kind!! It’s like walking into a shop filled with all your dads waiting to help you. 10/10.

Had my tie rods replaced this week due to worn tires on the front of my truck. Truck was diagnosed and in and out of the shop in 48 hours. Fair price as always, and quality work. Truck drives like butter now after putting on a new set of tires. Very trustable shop to diagnose and fix the right issue! No BS or upsales included.

Professionally run. Make appointment before you go because they are busy. Will go back, 100% better than jiffy lube. I had oil changed and tires rotated.

Couple weeks ago I ran over a loose rock while getting off the highway. My car started making a funny noise and I thought something serious was damaged. Sun Devil Auto happened to be the closest mechanic near by. Turned out my drip plate was loose/damaged. They replaced it for me and didnt even charge me. Highly impressed with their service and ethics.

Well, it is Scottsdale so expect Scottsdale prices. Very expressive. Very. It seems like most car repair shops try and sell you up. They had me by the neck. The best part is their ever amiable and kind tow truck driver.Ill be seeking a new place to take the cars.

My experience went very well. This is my second time coming in for front brakes. It was like clockwork. Free brake exam, honest recommendations, and the work was done THAT DAY! They are very open and transparent with their work. Also, without me even trying they beat my dealers pricing... By alot!

Had a tournament to go to, there was an hour wait! My cars battery died left me and the family stuck! They where able to squeeze me in, made it to weigh in and came out on 2nd place! Thank you guys 🙏🏻

Ive never waited more than an hour for an Oil change! Ive also found that theyre always looking for the most cost efficient way to handle repairs. I reccomend these guys to everyone. This is the BEST mechanic service Ive ever received. I came in the morning and didnt have an appointment but just wanted to get my car checked as Id run over a curb the night before. They were super nice about it and fit me in right away and had the car checked out and out the door in less than an hour! They didnt try to sell me crazy things or anything at all and I will never go to another mechanic again!!

Noncomplaint with mask mandate and guidelines noted by both employees and Customers. No complaint with timing or services. Did not feel they were selling anything to me when given findings of all the checks on my vehicle. Refused to reset my vehicle’s oil change indicator light from 5,000 to 7,500 which is actually recommended for my vehicle. Poor customer service in that respect which was not appreciated when I hear you want to make money and put it to the old school 5,000 miles. If I request the recommended miles, you should do so. If you want to write on my sticker 5,000, that’s fine. I remove it anyway. But it’s annoying for my light to go off earlier than I need an oil change. Instead, I have to figure out for the first time in six years how to do it because everyone else sets it appropriately. Quote for synthetic oil was 43..But that doesn’t include all charges so just FYI ask questions to ensure you understand what you’re responsible for at the end.

I took my Jeep in for a scheduled 90k mileage maintenance. Jason explained the inspection process and the cost and benefit of each repair. I had an electrical issue the very next day (not related to anything Sun Devil did), and brought it in. Even though they were very busy, they took a look at my Jeep and repaired the electrical issue free of charge! Both Mark & Jason were very nice and accommodating. Dont hesitate to bring your vehicle into the N. Scottsdale location!

Service excellence!My husband and I live in Mesa but I commute to work 2 miles away from Sun Devil Auto on Frank L. Wright Blv. My Toyota Sequoia leaked coolant 25miles from home so bringing it here was super convenient to us versus trying to tow it back to Mesa... Mark and Jason have been able to fix my vehicle within 24hr with cracked radiator and some additional items; they communicated extensively and were super friendly and accomodating to us! We will definitely bring our vehicles back here for regular maintenance and oil change from now on.Once again, service excellence!

I came in with issues regarding my AC and coolant, got a free inspection and they let me know of some other issues going on that needed to be addressed that I hadnt taken care of since I owned the car. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable to help me understand what was going on with my vehicle. They managed to get the car all fixed up same day. Excellent customer service and the prices are more than fair. I had just installed new tie rods on my car and they were able to get it in for an alignment on the same day. Both members of the staff I talked to were friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend this location. I know if I need anything done in the future, Ill be taking my car here.

We were certain we wouldnt be able to get a oil changed especially seeing as it was last minute and we had to leave town the next day for a funeral. Store Manager Mark and his staff were so beyond the point of professional and courteous they move things around and treat me and my pregnant wife like we were VIP. Although they would have to work after hours they didnt mind to make the accommodation because they cared most of all that my wife and I would be safe on the road. God bless you guys youre the best!

Amazing experience today at Sun Devil Auto. I came in for a simple brake replacement and after thorough inspection, Mark and his team discovered some past due maintenance and alerted me. Mark never pushed me to get all the work done but left it up to me. We worked together and came up with a deal to get all the service completed. I have been taking my vehicles to Sun Devil auto for years. I recently moved to Scottsdale and Made an appointment for the first time at this particular Sun Devil location to have the oil changed and brakes inspected. I Had to come Back an hour later as they were too busy even though I had an appointment. The shop didn’t even take the wheels off to check my brakes. (Have vibrations coming from front brakes). The shop said I would need to make an additional appointment for them to actually check the brakes. The Shop didn’t take the time or effort to provide quality service. Not recommended.

Ive had work done by them several times. Most recently a starter replacement. I knew it was going out over several months and it finally wouldnt turn over. I thought it may be the battery but I tested my battery and that was not the issue. While BSing with the AAA tow guy, he gave his advice on it and said seemed more like a starter issue (before I even brought it up) Marc at Sun Devil Auto checked it out for me and confirmed the starter was dead. The car was done by end of the day and has worked great since. They also had the best price in the area on this job.My girlfriend also had a battery replaced and oil changed there and we were in and out in less than an hour. Also with the best prices.I always shop around to see if there is a great deal, but it seems almost every time they can beat the price. Knowing the service is already good, if the price is near I go with Sun Devil Auto.

One of the most ethical places in AZ. Ive been to numerous places just for a simple oil change and all of them have charged me $60+ dollars and have kept me waiting for hours, which is nonsense. Each time I was at Sun Devil I was there for no longer than 30 minutes and was never charged for additional garbage. They even double charged me in error and called the next day to let me know and fixed it over the phone. Great group of people.

Most employees werent wearing a mask. I came in for engine diagnostics and was told Id get a call within 2-3hrs, but I ended up having to call them twice over the next three days before they finally told me they dont have experience with Priuses and Ill have to go to a dealership. They also wiped my engine codes, leaving me unable to pursue repairs elsewhere. Overall, they seemed friendly enough and Im glad they didnt charge me for the inspection, but I was without a vehicle for three days with no communication or explanation.

Matt was great! I called in to have some problems diagnosed on a high mileage vehicle. They got me right in and gave a realistic and fair estimate of the work that should be done. No upselling or shifty business, my own mechanic verified what they recommended. Im very happy and would feel good about having work done here:)

The staff are friendly though sometimes I question the truthfulness of their repair recommendations. My last visit I was told my car was okay but that I would need to replace the alternator soon. I took my car to a trusted friend and all that was needed was a battery replacement.

We had taken our cars here for about 3 years but will never go back. I had a bearing that went out about 20 months ago and the same bearing went out again even though they should last for 5-8 years.After taking the car back in and having them replace the bearing, their sub-par work caused a grinding sound that was immediate as soon as I picked it up. I took the wheel off and noticed they stripped the threads putting the nut back on the axle. Sun Devil Auto refused to accept responsibility that they improperly installed the bearing the first time which caused the hub to go out again before it should have.I had to pay $200 in parts even though they messed up the install both times.It was obvious they just rush through the work and dont double check the work being done by someone else. They failed to notify me that the axle shaft had been stripped, they failed to test drive after fixing the bearing.After taking the car back in, they did replace all required parts at no cost. They refused to refund the $200 I paid due to their negligent work. I will not be going back.

Worst mechanics ever. Recommended unneeded services, did a sloppy job, and honestly wasnt even a good price. Withheld information until it was too late to deal with it, and to top it all off, installed my windshield wipers wrong, causing them to fall off during a monsoon. They have a deal at their front desk offering discounts in exchange for 5 star reviews - dont believe them!

Best repair shop in Arizona. Ive been taking my car to Sun Devil for over ten years. Theyre very trustworthy and flexible. I have a 14-year old car and theyve been very reasonable on price and repair options. They even split payments across checks which makes it easier to get repairs done. Took my car in for the first time yesterday and had a great experience. Convenient, and they offered a free shuttle to and from my office. Worked with Jacob who was very professional and took the time to explain everything to me and helped prioritize service that needed to be done now, versus what could wait. He also found a discount and applied it to the repair to save me money. I am very satisfied with the work that was done, and will definitely use them again in the future.

My car had some lights come on (check engine, ESC, and TPMS)The dealership wanted to charge $180 to do the diagnostic but Sun Devil was only $115.They said it was a flow censor and the part was $300.I had them replace the censor but it did not solve my problem, all three lights keep coming on.They took a look at it again and had to order more parts but did not charge me :)My car seems to be back to normal, it took them a while to fix my car but happy with the results!I am sure, I will be back again!

Ive noticed that my vehicle is mixing coolant and oil but it was still running fine .Yesterday I took a 100 mile trip with no overheating or any other problem. This morning I took my car for diagnostics .After a day of testing which costed me $115.00 I was barely able to ride home .The vehicle overheated and smelled like burning rubber in only 5 miles. They made sure that the car was going home with the diagnostics they gave me Burned Head Gasket .Phenomenal !!!Please, Stay off this place.

Brought my sons car in with an oil leak. They charged 1000.00 dollars for a water pump and didnt fix the oil leak. took it in the next day and they told me I needed a new oil pan gasket, another 1000.00. Got a second opinion and all we needed to do was screw in the oil filter tighter. Dont do business with these guys.

I take it in for regular tune ups and whenever something just doesnt feel or sound right. I drive a 2001 Toyota 4Runner and regular maintenance has always been most important. Steve, the manager, always tells me what I need to do right away and what can wait for awhile. Car runs great and I have no complaints. Fast, Courteous Service at Reasonable Prices.Theres not much more you could ask for.Brought the Silverado HD2500 in (Duramax Diesel and Allison Transmission) and they changed the synthetic oil & filter, replaced and tested the fuel filters, and serviced the transmission with fluid exchange... all for just over $400, which is less than HALF what the dealership (VAN) quoted me for the exact service.They even rotated my tires without even being asked to, and didnt charge for that. Oh, they also topped off my coolant and washer fluid too.All same day service, per appointment, and one of their employees gave me a ride to work (couple miles from the shop).All around a great experience. These guys do a good job and from my experience are honest and dependable.

I have always had positive experiences here until my last visit. I was recommended a laundry list of repairs after my oil change that I needed to fix a shaky steering wheel. Knowing a little bit about my car some of it just didnt add up and since they didnt show me the problems I went to a friends shop to get a 2nd opinion.The long and short was I fixed the issue with two new tires, one of which had a massive bulge that SunDevil did not even mention (they dont sell tires). It was a very obvious issue.The big problem I had is that I was lied to. They said I had a snapped sway bar link and one that was about to go. I was taken around my car at the other shop and they are both in perfect condition. I get the recommending of maintenance but lying and saying something is broken when it is not is just unacceptable.

Got my brake fluid flushed here and the manager was so friendly. Plus, I was in and out in 20 minutes!

Every car repair comes so unexpectedly and at the most inconvenient time. Sun Devil Auto was there waiting to catch me at my worst.My rear air suspension completely gave out, therefore every bump in the road felt like a speed bump. I had to drive more carefully and consciously than ever for several days while I contemplated the circumstances and the most affordable solution. After some basic troubleshooting and Youtube/internet searches, I was convinced this was going to be way out of my price range. I even thought about selling my car for whatever I could get for it! But Sun Devil Auto has free diagnostic checks, so I could at least figure out the problem and how much it was really going to cost.Matt told me to bring my car in ASAP to get me back on the road ASAP. After leaving my car overnight, they ran the diagnostics first thing in the morning. The cost of repair was MUCH less than I had anticipated. Matt even recommended maintenance I should get in the near future considering the age of my car and 100,000+ miles I had already. Matt did not hesitate to mention the great financing options they offer to spread the cost of everything out over 6-12 months so I could afford everything. As soon as I made my decision, Matt got my car in the shop and it was done the next morning!Overall, I am extremely pleased with the way Sun Devil Auto conducts their business. I believe every auto shop should at least offer free diagnostic checks like they do. Matt and the Sun Devil Auto team took my car and its problems right off my hands and gave it back to me brand new. This was honestly the easiest automotive predicament I have encountered, and I cant thank anyone else but Sun Devil Auto. Its as if Im driving on a cloud now.

I went there for oil change, tech guy told me I have to change both front and rear because they are at 2mm. I did trust him then go to different shop and they said I have more than %40 life on both front and rear. Lying to the customer to make couple hundred more makes them lose some of customer for life time.

This shop has been our go-to for the last few years. They are honest, helpful and doesnt cost us a fortune. Had free oil services to use at a dealership but brought my car here when they told me I needed some work. Sun Devils second opinion saved us time and money. I always recommend them to my friends and co-workers.

Went here to get my car door fixed. It would not open from the inside. They replaced a broken cable. It worked for 2 days. Fastforward a day on our road trip, the door opened while i was driving on its own at 45 mph while on a turn. Luckily my wife held on to it. Door did not close as you can see in the video. Will not recommend this place. I had to get the door fixed in san diego again.

Ive heard that mechanics get a bad rep for being dishonest with their work, adding on unnecessary parts and labor, but Sun Devil Auto takes the cake for the most EXTREME example.My car was making a weird sound, so I took it in to Sun Devil Auto, since they helped me out in the past and did an okay job.They gave me an estimate of around $1500 with parts and labor. I was astonished at how pricy it was. I asked a few nearby auto repair shops and their estimates were a bit less ($1000-$1200). Sun Devil Auto said it would take 2 days max to finish the job.I spoke to one shop, and they told me Dont even bother getting estimates from Sun Devil Auto, they love to add unnecessary parts and labor. $300 was the total of the HONEST auto repair shop. PLUS they had it ready at the end of the day.I gave them 2 out of 5 because they did help with a previous issue with my car, but seriously guys?!Do you think youre the only mechanics in town??I understand the concept of upselling but by more 5X the amount is ridiculous. I felt truly scammed and betrayed and will not be taking my car there anymore and will no longer recommend them to friends. SHAME ON YOU!

This place is the best! Im a single woman and would always get nervous that auto places would rip me off. Well no more worries. Steve the manager made me feel at ease and they were very HONEST. They even fixed a few little things for free as a courtesy, a loose hose that they tightened, a blown fuse, etc... They could have charged me way more, but they didnt. Ive used these guys the past couple of years but will be switching. Ive been shown zero concern -- on my last visit, the technician left with my tire lock and the manager refused to have him drive 5 minutes back to work, making me come back another day instead to pick it up later. Several other instances of techs not topping off fluids as promised in oil changes. They take a full hour to change your oil as well.

I went here for my cars 30k servicing and pleasantly found that the only thing I needed was an oil change. Josh was knowledgeable and focused on getting me the right services and didnt push for unnecessary servicing (in fact he recommended against extras).

Morning after our oil change, oil has leaked ALL OVER our epoxy flooring and we’re spending all of Father’s Day morning stopping the oil leak and scrubbing the stain out of our floor. The entire oil cap is totally loose and now we’ll start the next week hustling to coordinate a 30 minutes drive BACK OUT to this location to correct the problem. What a total waste of an oil change and our time. Amature move on the tech’s part and now it makes you wonder what else the techs cut corners on. Not to mention they were all on their phones when we dropped off the car. Such a poor customer experience and certainly does NOT build loyalty and trust in this location.

Was tired of spending dealership prices for repair and maintenance. Started taking both vehicles to nearby Sun Devil at Hayden and Frnk LLyd Wright and will not go anywhere else! The Manager Steve is very knowledgeable and has always given us options for repairs, what can wait and what cannot. Quality work for a reasonable price.
