I have never sold a car to a place like CarMax. With that being said, it was the most seamless selling experience ever! The longest part of the process was getting the appraisal back which took about an hour. They gave me exactly what my online quote was! Great customer service that walked me through the entire process. 5 STARS!!
The staff was very courteous to me and whatever, I need they tried their best to meet my needs to the Max and I just want to say thank you for that. I had a wonderful experience at CarMax. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The young lady I had was very knowledgeable and willing to help. I was more than happy with my trade in and the whole entire process. I would recommend CarMax to anyone looking to buy a vehicle. Although it did help to be pre-approved through Capital One Auto Navigator. They dont base your approval off of your credit score, but rather your credit history. But overall, yes I was very pleased.

Customers service needs to be better. Car sales are low. So with competition being so Stiff Great customer service is a must. Everyone should be treated the same regardless of how they’re dress or look. Weekend crew with the exception of Ms Debra needs training. Please tell me why do they need to call your insurance to verify you when you have card in hand and give it over to them. I guess someone needs to tell policemen that they need to extend verifying your car insurance. I mean on this Saturday I really didn’t feel CarMax wanted my business. I’m a buyer . I can buy a car from anywhere, I will take my business to where they make buying a car a Great experience. Being a nurse I work hard for my MONEY CAR MAX!
I’d give it less stars if I could, staff is very unprofessional especially the managers on the floor, people just standing around and they love to not tell you what you need. I HIGHLY advise you to shop somewhere else because you can find a much better deal and service. If I could redo my experience I definitely wouldn’t of wasted my time or money at that joke of a car lot.
Ran financing multiple times impacting my credit substantially. I asked for them to fix some things I noticed before purchasing the vehicle, they claimed they were fixed but were not . The truck was filthy when I took possession of it . Looks like they attempted touch up paint on a few scratches and it looks worse than it did seeing the damage in the pictures . I asked the technician in the back if he could look over the truck and see what may be popping since he was putting it on the lift to do my front tires . Technician said it was my front differential, my truck is a 2wd there is no front differential! Seemed like everyone was poorly trained or never received training at all . The employees were being very inappropriate Infront of other customer and even the children that were present . Ive been to other CarMax locations and never have had an issue, but I will never return to the Shreveport CarMax in my entire life .

Very satisfied with the ultimate price we agreed upon. (I was looking to sell my car.) Was afraid it was going to be just another clickbait situation to get me in the door, and lowball me, as I experienced elsewhere. However, Carmax wound up being the best offer. I expected a local dealer to beat the online offers, but it was not so. They met my hoped-for price on selling my car.Also, the process was simple and straightforward. I got a difference check right then, and ~ 8 days later, my car loan was paid off. No hassles or problems. Will go back to them when I want to buy down the line, and definitely when I want to sell.

My sale man was awesome. If it wasnt for him I would have left and not come back. The other sales associates and the manager at the store in Shreveport were horrible. They stood around and even had time to sing happy birthday to another associate. This was while myself and other customers waited hours to be helped. My appointment was at 4 I didnt get seen until almost 7. I was told that I couldnt even look inside my vehicle I had shipped without an appointment. Another couple walked up and knew one of the sales people and were immediately handed keys. She told them if you like it and want to buy it we will wash it up for you. CarMax is a great company; but they definitely need someone from home office to come and train them again.
CarMax was very professional an impressive online however, when I arrived for my appointment time (that they selected) I had to wait over an hour to meet with the salesman. Very very disappointed! A couple of the salesmen had no sense of urgency, wasting time, and the customers like me time was not valued. One would think that management would have addressed this.

I wanted to try CarMax base what my friends recommend me on. I could have gone anywhere but I choose CarMax. I paid 499.00 to have a car transfer on June 10. I called to follow up on June 24, 30 and July 1st. Each time I called the car was being transit. I founded out on July the 1st that the car had been here(Shreveport) every since July 1st. I was lied to about the car arrival plus no one care to give me a courtesy car or inform me about anything. I plan to cancel and get my money back even if it means getting the Lawyer.

I bought my friend and to see about a car we had no idea that she needed a appointment. The young man that spoke to us Cameron talked to us for a very long time explain how everything worked made arrangements for tomorrow at 3:30 to be there for an appointment when we showed up for our appointment we were not on this electronic board no one knew what we were talking about and wanted us to wait for 2 hours before somebody could talk to her shes disabled I think that treating someone that you think looks like doesnt have the money is wrong and thats exactly what she was treated like. If we to come in dress to the nines in a badass car looking like models them boys would have been all over themselves trying to be the first one to talk to us I really dont appreciate it I dont think anybody needs to give them their business the boy Cameron was stayed in the background when we arrived and refused to come up there where we were to own what had happened that he had forgotten I think CarMax needs to get their s*** together I wont be back and I wont be taking people back there
First trip was good, had an appointment and after waiting 30 minutes past appointment time I asked how much longer and was told at least another 30 - 45 minutes, so we left. After we got home I called called to complain about the service or lack of, I was asked if we could come back this week because they wanted to earn my business. Second trip was much better, after we got there we were seen rite away.
Best car buying experience I ever had. Everyone from the first call to the final sale were friendly and very helpful. Excellent service and hassle free. They seemed they just wanted to make you happy and find the right car.
We bought a car for traveling. In 8 months it broke down 13 times! Each time they refused my refund. In March we were almost killed 5 different times while on vacation in said car... CarMax left us side of the road with no transportation 1,500 miles from home. After refusing to risk my life driving the car again, they threatened to charge me for them having on their lot. This was after it stayed in south Florida for 2 1/2 months for repairs. After All of this, they went behind my back & cancelled the warranty. Its now September, the car cant be repaired & the are STILL refusing to reimburse me for my vacation we never got to haveand/ or my refund for the lemon they sold me ..They should be shut down by highway patrol in every state for carelessly endangering the lives of travelers on the roadways ..

The first car that I had transferred to CarMax really wasnt what I wanted for the amount of money I would be paying for it!! The employees were very helpful and patient with me, and I purchased the second vehicle on February 23rd and I love it😍CarMax is where I will be buying cars from now on!!! My appt. was at 11:00 and I was driving away in my new Chevy Equinox LT at 1:30!!! It doesnt get any better than that!!!

I wish I could leave 0 stars. Terrible customer service and never answer the phones when trying to call. The vehicles are not worth what they asking for it. Day 31 of the 30 day warranty and the truck has broken down and they say they do not have a service tech in order to repair it. Save yourself the time and energy in the long run and just go to a reliable dealership.
Dakota is rude and their prices are too high. No negotiations so the buyer is at the mercy of a whack job in already corrupt and fraudulent business full of greed. . No go

I purchased a new car from an authorized dealer! While negotiating I got a better price but the offer on my trade in was minimal at best. I went ahead and bought the new car with out a trade in! Now that I was stuck selling my old car and was thinking of the best way to do that a mechanic friend told me about CARMAX and helped me to get an online offer. The offer was better than I expected but I was reluctant to drive the 160 miles to the nearest CARMAX thinking that we had to take two cars there to get home and that when I got there they would find multiple problems with my car and offer me much less than the online offer. We made the trip and I was thrilled that they were very professional and wrote me a check for the exact online offer. A car dealer that lived up to their word! Thanks again CARMAX!
The vehicle was exactly as promised. The shipping process was kind of long but we got through it and finally got the sale closed. The only complaint I had was that the appraisal of my trade-in vehicle decreased by $3000 from the first appraisal to the second appraisal 3 weeks later. It felt a little bit like a bait and switch.

Everything was great until they I got the car. It was half washed and the interior was dirty. The offered to pay up to $30. if I go get it detailed. Details cost $70 to $80 dollars. I did it myself.
My brother bought me a car from carfax Before I got home check engine light on.i live about hour away.took it in ignition coil had to be replaced Had to take it back k 2 more times from dec. Thru feb.I went on to talk about a situation and was to k d they would be sending a check.Thay was 2 weeks ago.No check and have been trying to reach them on for week and a half.Never can get anybody.

I waited for 3 hours when I went to Carmax just to be talked to! I ended up buying the car I was there to look at but I only had it 24 days and air messed up in it and they told me to take to my nearest dealership because the Shreveport location does not have a service center my car has been at Chevyland since Tuesday morning it was fixed on Wednesday morning. I still don’t have my car and it is now Thursday afternoon because I cannot get CARMAX to pay the bill. I am very dissatisfied with Carmax
0 stars, went and bought a car from there, got it financed and insured, then they had to refund all of my money because they could not find the title to the car. waited 3 weeks because they said they would call as soon as they found the title. called 2 days before the three week mark and they said call back in 2 days as they would have the title. called back 2 days later and they said they sold the car to someone else! Worst experience ever and no one could give an explanation.
Wait was long but so far so good on buying my 2000 Nissan pain and putting it. Towards down payment
They sold my fiancé a car without having the title to it, so now he can’t get the tags for it & are doing nothing to fix the issue. The front desk lady is RUDE AS HELL & hung up in my fiancé’s face after a week of him calling, trying to get them to do their jobs. Don’t waste your time, buy your car somewhere else!

This place is horrible! I arrived for an 11am appt. at 1030am. Checked my reservation email for instructions only to see the car had sold. I called and was told the same thing. Since it was early, I got out and decided to walk the lot. Realized the truck I was there to see was actually there but they had it listed as the wrong color. I didnt really like it but saw others I was interested in so I went inside for my appt. The lady at the front desk was very uninterested. Although there was a screen up for Covid-19 protection I was told to step around her desk because she couldnt hear. I had watched her do this with the people in front of me as well so what really was the point of the screen. She took my name and told me to sit down wherever. I literally sat there and watched a few salesman with other customers but a majority of them had no one and leisurely relaxed on counters talking amongst themselves with no regard for the customers waiting and let me tell you there was more than a few. I sat there for as long as I could fuming and finally left. They called me at 1 in the afternoon to tell me that they were finally ready to see me. I told her she couldnt be because my appt was at 11am and I left an hr. ago and no one cared.
Awesome experience! A fair value for my trade in! Ron Reed was great! APR was higher than I liked but, considering the quality of car that I got, 2018 Toyota RAV4 XLE with less than 5K miles, I can live with it.

I wasnt pressured by anything, ask for Debra, she made my experience smooth, convenient, fun and it wasnt a long wait time, she actually waited on me on my down payment of course with the manager permission ( Will). I will definitely go thru CarMax again and tell others, which I already have LOL. I had a good experience with Carmax. I actually had to switch out vehicles because there were some features on the 1st vehicle that did not fit my familys needs. There was no hassle with the return and swap. I would recommend Carmax services.
I talked to Paul who doesn’t even work at this star he told me all the documents I would need, copy of social, copy of pay stubs and my down payment. I brought all the documents that were needed and it still wasn’t good enough for the associates that work in the store.

Quick and easy process to sell my car! I got three different offers from different dealerships, and they were the highest by far. Facilities were very clean and they were taking proper COVID precautions. Very good about communicating and confirming appointment. Would recommend.
The sales staff and my sales person was great. Very friendly and helpful. The purchasing experience was very nice. The car, however, came with dried sap (turns out it was acid rain stain) all over the windows that I thought I would be able to get off but this stuff is really baked on there good. Ive tried many things but no luck yet. Yesterday I noticed the car came with no spare and no jack(the new cars, some are opting to come with a tire kit in place of a spare, I was not aware of this however, it was still missing the lug wrench for removing tires). I should have checked that myself I guess. The day I bought the car, the tire started going flat because there was a tiny hole on inside of the sidewall they missed. When I took it to Honda to get the tire replaced, carmax paid for the replacement the next day. Honda mentioned that the car was misaligned as well. The Carmax 1,000(actually 125 point I think) point inspection may not catch things like this for whatever reason. Look it over good before you buy. (Update: I changed from a 3 star to a 4 star because despite the issues mentioned above, after a few weeks Ive finally been able to get these items repaired and Carmax covered it. So there was initial frustration and inconvenience but they made it all right in the end.)

It had a couple of problem areas once it arrived,(cosmetic)and Carmax Shreveport stood behind their words and repaired it no questions asked. This was the first used car Ive ever purchased. I love my Grand Jeep Cherokee! All previous car purchases have been new. Do not hesitate to purchase a vehicle from this dealership. Deb was my sales person and shes awesome. Customer satisfaction is definitely guaranteed.

Best way to buy a car! Web site allows for all the research that can be done before actually seeing a car in person, with lots of photos and data. Everyone I dealt with was responsive and gave me his/her complete attention. It was most helpful knowing the price wasn’t going to change and that if I wasn’t happy with the vehicle I chose, there was no pressure to buy it. The team worked with me very well with the financing, answering all my questions so there were no glitches in that regard.One area where we could have had better communication: I asked if the car would be ready when it was scheduled to be picked up, and no one answered that question directly. Turns out it wasn’t, but solutions were found. Thanks to those who made arrangements with a local provider for new tires. Some cleaning was still needed on the interior, but it wasn’t much and I understand that the shop was short handed that week. Melissa Stewart was pressed into service so the paperwork was done that day. I would not have gone through with the purchase if I’d had to come back another time.Then there was a problem with picking up the title. I thought it would be ready at the end of the week and made plans accordingly as the car had to be taken to another state for registration. Again, Melissa Stewart went to extraordinary effort to obtain the necessary paperwork from the DMV. I’m very happy with the car, and can’t thank her enough for making it happen.Thanks to everyone at the Shreveport CarMax dealership. I would definitely recommend your services to anyone who asks.

CarMax makes it easy to ship, test drive, & purchase online. I scheduled the transfer of a vehicle from one store to my store for FREE. Did all the pre-work for purchase approval before going to the store for my test drive. Scheduled an appointment online for a test drive. Went to the store for the test drive and left with the vehicle faster than any dealership. CarMax does it RIGHT!
Up to the point where we were supposed to come in to test drive the vehicle, everything went smoothly, from the transfer, trade-in evaluation and all the notices and texts about appointment time/date, etc. We arrived on time today at the Shreveport location, about 2 hours drive from our location. We drove in our Prius with 249K mi, all prepped up for trading in, and with liability insurance (our insurer recommended this coverage level due to the high miles). We do have full coverage on our 3 other vehicles. We did have spare cards but did not carry any today (spoiler alert). I was told I wont be able to test drive the vehicle because my Prius only had liability coverage, but I did tell Vilma (not her real name) that I had full coverage on my other cars. She called State Farm to clarify my coverage, which I already told her it was liability only. At this point, I had a sense that Vilma wasnt keen on helping me out. I had the Prius pre-appraised and already had an offer and she asked me if I still owe anything on the Prius. I told her I already answered these questions and she responded that it is the first time she has seen the car. It appears the central office is not communicating at all with the local office? Back to the no test drive debacle: she said sorry but did not attempt to provide any options for me. I told her I didnt know about the policy - had Ive been made aware of it through one of the texts or emails, I would have brought all 3 copies of those cards (will that do? surely they will not want me to have somebody drive a 2nd vehicle with full coverage). I think she smiled behind her mask. Not sure. Well that did it for me, I decided to go shop for a new truck instead.

Its very easy to search for cars on their website.Information about each car is detailed.Its easy to place a 7 day hold on a car without any fees or obligation to purchase. Its also easy to get a car shipped to the nearest location - cars within 200 or 250 miles are shipped freeThe website is not as informative about the process to buy a car, however the staff at the car lots are very helpful with details. Also, call center staff arent as knowledgeable as staff that works on the car lots - I highly recommend you go speak face to face or ask to speak with staff at the nearest location.Car lots will appraise your old car for free. The appraisal is good for 7 days. If you want to sell your car to them, do it at the same time you buy a car from them to maximize your tax breaks. If you purchase a car separately, you will not get the tax savings.When you are ready to buy a car, ask for a buyers order to take to your bank to get a certified check. A personal check is okay only during banking hours so Carmax may call and verify funds.Happy car shopping!

My car was not washed ar the time of delivery. No inspection sticker on the car at the time of delivery. Other than that I was satisfied al in all.
