It has become too expensive to come here. I have been getting my repairs done here since 2018 and it just keeps getting more and more expensive. The attendant for today wasnt as cordial to what I usually get here as well. Repairs have not let me down as of yet. Going to have to research other alternatives however.
My boyfriend and I used Big Q when his car did not start last week. We thought we were taking it to somewhere with great service due to the amount of good reviews, but NO! Please do not be fooled by them, it is obvious now that they must pay for their reviews. If you look closer, you will see the truth of what they are.Let me take you back on what happened.Day one: car would not turn over, we assumed it was the fuel pump. They said it was and it would be ready that day. No one called us, we had to call them to see what time to pick up after several hours. Where they said they did not a pump to fix it and it will be ready tomorrow.Day two: We call for an update, where we get told my boss will call you and no one would. We finally are told that they now do not have a Fuel Pressure Gage tool and are asking another shop for one. It will be ready at 4, and they will call us. 4 comes and goes, no call. We call them and they still do not have the tool and it will be ANOTHER DAY!Day three: Calling the store in the early afternoon for an update and they tell us they are still waiting on parts and a new new fuel pump after the one they got previously did not work. And that they will call when it is ready later that day. Big surprise when they did not call and we get told it would be ANOTHER DAY!Day four: They simply did not know what was going on. My boyfriend went there to talk in person where we was able to see his car and take a picture of the invoice that was on the windshield. They tell him that is is a security chip issue now and the fuel pump still. When we call for an update that day, they tried to tell us they bought a specific part and that is why they are taking long. But the invoice clearly told another story. When we spoke up about seeing the invoice they stammered about and did not know what to say.Day five: They tell us that the car just isnt turning over. That is LITERALLY ALL THEY COULD GIVE US. And we had to call several time just to get that nonsense of an answer. What we assume was the mechanic picked up about 4 times throughout the day when we called for any information and he would tell us my boss is on a ride right now, hell call you back.Day six: We finally get a competent customer service person who was nice. He told us he would personally text us about any updates we had, and actually followed through. Though they basically still had no idea what was wrong and they told us it would be another day.Day Seven: We call to make sure they were even open given that it was Easter. They let us know that they were and our car was the only one in the shop they were working on that day. But then we ask them several questions, and it turns out the ORIGINAL fuel pump was perfectly fine and they never needed to replace it. It seemed to be an electrical issue.Day Eight: We get a text in the early morning that it was never the fuel pump and that a special technician is coming in to fix an electrical issue. Within a few hours it is finally fixed!Not only did they not care that they had our car for over a week, but they forced us to pay money for issues they cause. They made us pay for the labor and 3 fuel pumps, when the fuel pump was never the issue!This place is skeezy, dishonest, and frankly dumb as all hell. They do not have the tools to do basic jobs, and force you into paying for problems they cause.At the recommendation of another review we found here, we have submitted a claim through the California Bureau of Automotive Repair for their lack of business integrity and skills.
First time visiting this shop today, they were referred to me by the tire shop I use. Tiffany was nice and professional. I went in because I had a bad rear wheel bearing. At first they tried to upsell me on front and rear brakes, which I cant really blame them for because for one thing, thats their job and secondly I knew I needed front brakes however thats not what I came in for. I was skeptical the rear brakes were the source of the noise, after all Im an ASE certified master tech who just cant work on my own vehicles anymore due to a disability and I know my noises, it was definitely the wheel bearing.I approved the labor to remove the rear drums and low and behold, the brakes were fine and it was indeed the wheel bearing. Once we verified that I approved the estimate and left my vehicle with them. Work was done earlier than originally quoted, which was great because I was able to run my errands after all. Noise is gone, car drives great so I am happy.Bottom line: I couldve deducted a star for the upsell attempt but TBH, I didnt mind because brakes are a safety issue and they have to do their job, which is sell repairs. If they really wanted to upsell me, theres plenty more work that my car needs but they didnt try and sell those, they just noted them and I appreciate their thoroughness. They were polite, professional and the price was not too bad, although not as cheap if I had done it myself but, I needed the work done today and they got the job done. They offer a variety of services and I will definitely use them again in the future.Based on my experience I would absolutely recommend them. Good shops are hard to find.

Worst experience ever! I took my Acura ilx for struts, shocks and disc brakes to be replaced and the they ended up removing the axles for no reason. They couldnt put it back together and used regular grease and zip ties on cv boots. A few months later the axle was damaged.
Outstanding work! David at Big Q was very responsive and took care of all of the work I needed to troubleshoot my air conditioning and replace a leaking condenser. He worked directly with my extended warranty company which made everything go smoothly. I highly recommend this shop, and thank you David for the excellent customer service!

My experience with Big Q has been awesome. First of all, we all know how nerve wracking it is to find a new mechanic. David was super friendly and helpful in diagnosing my cars issues. Upon getting my car fixed there was a weird squeak that they took care of right away. I dont know if Ive felt my car drive better since I purchased it years ago! Everyone that I met while at the shop was also ridiculously friendly, I felt right at home! The technicians were transparent, trustworthy, and most of all I didnt feel like I was wasting money on things I didnt need. From start to finish I am very happy with my experience and I would recommend this place to all of my friends and family. We all know car repair is never cheap but I know if Im spending money here I know its an investment thats going to last. 10/10

These guys are great. When my alternator died on a Sunday, they were the only folks open. They fixed it same day and did some other stuff. When the alternator failed again, they honored the warranty, tested my battery, escorted me to AutoZone to collect on the battery warranty because it died too...they did the work free of charge...they answered all of my questions, informed of things I didnt even ask, and the entire staff was very courteous and approachable. They are not close to my house and kind of close to my work, and I will preferentially return to this shop for future work. I have no complaints, these folks are great.

WORST MECHANIC SHOP EVER, WARNING DO NOT GO HERE!!! They will rip you off, tell you things need to be fixed when they dont, your car will get broken into as it sits outside overnight, they zip tied the hood of our car because of what they fixed in the engine. Hood flew up on the freeway and broke the windshield almost causing an accident. A job that should of only taken an hour literally took 4 weeks. They NEVER will call you with an update on your car, you have to constantly call them for them to lie to you about your car and the status of it. Then when you talk to the new manager Levi and call them out on the lies, procrastination, lack of work and the shadiness, he will raise his voice tell you to be quiet so he can talk. My husband dealt with him in person and I dealt with him on the phone. My husband is black and said I pulled the race card on him thinking I was black as well. Well I am white and so is Levi, so I guess im racist. We had to almost call the police because they would not give us our car keys back. They wanted us to sign some makeshift document stating not to hold them liable for anything, when they broke so many things including the break-in of the car. We refused to sign and threatened to call the cops. They finally gave the keys back. There is much more that happened, but that will be up to the small claims court. We also had to file a police report as well. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT EVEN BOTHER LOOKING AT THIS SHOP OR CALL. THE WORST MECHANIC IN HISTORY!!!! You have been warned!!! If I could rate on the negative star side I would.

Pretty awesome place, very professional and friendly service with the best deal on an auto change. They also helped me find a couple issues with my car, showed me the symptoms and explained the issue. One drawback is that the quotes they gave me to have these fixed were a bit over my budget. Otherwise, Im coming here every 5000 miles for my oil change

I advise everyone who feels they got cheated from this place to file a complaint at the California automotive bureau just google this name, they take care of repair shops that have done wrong to clients. Simply do not take your car here, very bad service, they tried ripping me off with more money, gave me an initial price then it starting going up, told me the diagnose was 120 then the next day this Daniel guy tells me its 240 just for the diagnostic. They charged 400dlls to fixmy master cylinder,didnt do anything to the car, and the guy wanted to charge me 800 more just to see if replacing the slave would do it. Bottom line I ended up calling a towing service to get my non working car out of that place and funny thing, the towing guy told me that he has done the same thing 5 times, in other words thats the way these guy do business, they reel you in with a something small and they proceed to rip you off .

I was there twice. Very bad customer service There is a young black guy who is on the front desk acting like manager. His name is Daniel I guess, he is big problem. He doesnt seem to know what he is doing. I took my car for repair, which would take longer, be promised me ride back and made me wait for 30 min in lobby then I was forced to order Uber. If you cant fulfill your promise as a business then dont waste my time in your shop, I dont depend on you, just let me know. Mechanics at garage are very friendly though. Ill change it to 5 star when that kid is gone when Im there next time OR when he starts to behave normal.

We went in here to have work done andIt was not done correctly. We returned to gave it fixed for the third time and they broke something else. A man named Daniel was rude and unprofessional he told me he knew I was having a bad day huh! I was actually having a great day they refused to take accountability for service given and at the same time very rude. Warning to people that want professional services.
No, just no, dont come in on a Sunday or ever. I asked Daniel what time my car battery would be done being replaced, he said well were only open for 2 hours, so obviously before that, very rude, it took him about 15 minutes to even put me in their system. And guess what time I was done? 30 minutes AFTER Close, total 2 and a half hours. Shouldve just gone to pep boys, at least its trusted, they obviously take care of their ppl before you. No one worked on my car after it was in the shop for a good 30 minutes. After people would call in for help, the manager would say that people schedules are not his priority. Also, he decided to ring up a customer whos car wasnt finished, even when my car was done, and it still took 15 minutes for me to Pay. WOW. Well, wasting time and not caring showed a lot. Waste of time, Never again.
The people here have always been helpful and honest. When other shops were trying to get me to spend over $200 on some simple routine maintenance, Big Q charged me less than half and didnt try to tack on unnecessary extras.

I brought my car to Big Q on Sunday 08/20/17 for a sensor light. They said it was a solenoid but due to mileage a total transmission replacement was better than replacing the solenoid. I agreed to pay $2600 for a used transmission. On 08/22 that transmission was supposed ready. On 08/24/17 that transmission was accidentally shipped to Fresno. They said it was being reshipped and would be in by Monday. On Monday, the transmission wasnt there but Randy said it should be there by Tuesday. He also promised me a $25 a day credit for the approximate four days it was in transit limbo. He also stated they would have it installed as soon as it arrived. On Tuesday 08/29/17, Leonard, said it was in and may be installed by Friday if they started prepping now. In other words, they got it in but didn’t start on it until I called. On Friday, I was told the used transmission was also bad. Leonard told me with used parts there was a 50/50 chance they will work at all. Had it be explained that way, up front, I never would have agreed to the repair. $2600 is pricey for a coin toss. Leonard stated be had been authorized to take out and rebuild the defective transmission that was installed and it would take three days. The next Tuesday 09/05/17, Leonard said the rebuild would be $1900 and denied saying “the defective transmission would be rebuilt at no additional cost to me.” On Wednesday 09/06/2017, I authorized a friend to speak on my behalf. He got the rebuild down from $1900 to an additional $300. At that point, I wanted to tow my Explorer to a mechanic who could do a rebuild on my transmission for $2100 ($700 less than the $2900 it would cost at Big Q.) However, the owner expected $1000 to get the car back for what was done so far: installing a defective transmission more than a week late. On 09/06/2017 we agreed to the rebuild at $2900. The owner told me it should be done by the following Wednesday. On Friday, 09/08/2017, I just accepted that it would not be done by the weekend. On Tuesday 09/12/2017 I was told the transmission should be there on Wednesday. On Wednesday, I was told it would be in on Thursday. On Thursday I was told it would be in by noon. And if everything went right in testing I might have my car by Friday. This is when I drove in and stated I would be in every day until my car was finished because I wanted everyone in the lobby to know they had held my car for a three day repair for over a month. Randy escorted me out back, acted offended. He said the only two people who cared about my transmission were Big Q and me. The car was finally finished on Friday 09/15/2017. I picked it up Sunday. I asked Al, who gave the car back, if anywhere on the receipt the $25 a day Randy promised from when the car was in transit was mentioned. It wasn’t. In addition to that, the second I got in the car the gauge light went on because they gave it back to me with an empty gas tank. But the kicker was something the owner said to John. He said he thought Big Q had done nothing wrong. You keep a car a month for a repair that’s supposed to last for three days. You hardly ever call the customer. You take out a bad transmission and install a worse one. You want to charge an additional $1900 despite your own employee telling me there will be no additional cost. We finally come to an agreement of $300 instead of $1900. You tell me it will take between three and seven days more. It takes nine. This comes to $700 in rental car fees. Then when I come in to complain, your staff acts offended and tells me I’m difficult. The receipt says nothing about the $25 discount from the four days it was lost in transit and you give it back to me with an empty gas tank. The warranty information is wrong on the receipt. And you think you did nothing wrong? You could be a textbook lesson on how to treat a customer poorly. Now back to something Randy said: “Only two people care about my transmission you and us,” Guess how many times they called me to ask if everything was okay after they got paid. Zero.
This place went above and beyond for me. After recognizing and apologizing for a slight paperwork error, Daniel and fabien went well beyond the call of duty make sure my car was running right, and check any and all possibly effected work due to the error. These guys do customer service right!

Helped me spend over 1100 plus dollars and they will not even take the fact that I did not give up on them even after the gas started pouring out of the fuel rail onto my hot ass engine after they did the work that made it happen now its my fault that the coolent is leaking from the intake.Randy says he can say anything he wants and thats true being this is america but do not act scared when a person tells him they are on there way back to the shop to talk to his boss that he said was outside and since you hung up in my face if you say anything to me i am going to tell you to gfys to your face and actually do it.car still in my garage with the bad intake that they put in.
