I scheduled an appointment for an inspection and wheel alignment and mentioned an electrical issue as a side note. After approving testing that I knew could end up being expensive if they didnt find the issue early on, they ended up only performing the tests that werent necessary and didnt have time for what I actually booked the appointment for. I ended up not having enough money for the wheel alignment and inspection which is my fault for approving testing that ended up costing the full amount but the experience left me feeling taken advantage of and with a car that had no repairs done.. I should have never mentioned the electrical issue in the first place but I trusted them to do what was best for me but now I know better and wont be coming back regardless.

Good service but terrible value. Huge markup on parts. The brake rotors and pads were 50% more than the absolute most expensive option I found looking at auto parts stores and even the dealer. Lots of “nickel and dime” add on services that are way overpriced - cabin air filter, engine air filter, marker light bulb all $75 each. I get that you probably round up to a half hour labor charge on any particular service, but when there’s three things that should take 5-15 minutes each, and I’m actually paying for 90 minutes it’s frustrating. My wife had heard good things and wanted to use these folks, but we won’t be back.

My husband and I have been clients at Girlington for over 5 years and have been extremely happy with all services received. The only negative point I have happened today when I came to pick up my car with my son and we were met by an aggressive dog. I had to place my son behind me and felt incredibly unsafe. It was unacceptable. Im all for dogs, but if they are aggressive, they should not be present. I still love Girlington, and plan on continuing to service our cars here, but the experience freaked us out.

Organized, professional, and they know what theyre doing. I particularly liked their system for diagnosing problems; you get a link to a report that details all the technicians findings with photos and other data, entered by the technician in the shop. So theres no telephone game between you, the service rep and the tech.Girlington is the place to go when you want it done right the first time, and its significantly cheaper than what youd pay at the dealer. Its not the cheapest place in town; this is where you go to fix what the cheapest place did.

I really like having Girlington service my car. Firstly, it seems to be women run which is awesome. Second, they make it easy to work with them remotely from scheduling online to drop off to payment. Along the way, they are very thorough with their communication and the paperwork is clear. They have never suggested a repair that wasnt needed and are highly collaborative on service. Also, they are very particular about sanitizing your car when theyre done. I will keep going to Girlington.

Brought in a set of new wheels to have tires mounted/balanced, and the tech gouged up two of them before noticing how much damage was being done and stopped. At my request they didnt charge for the work and covered the $200 repair (hence the two stars vs one), but a better shop wouldnt even be in that position.The shop I took them to after getting them repaired had no issues, and charged about 30% less than what Girlington had planned to bill me.

Ive been bringing my car to this garage for years for everything except state inspection and manufacturer recalls (done for free at the dealership where I bought my car).The brake light popped on in my car, and after a while the brakes went. Girlington looked at the car and recommended I bring it to the dealer, where the repair would hopefully be covered by my barely expired warranty. It turns out that something went wrong with the recall work the dealership had done within the past year, and they did indeed cover the repair. Girlington could have made money by doing the repair themselves, but instead they looked out for my best interests and saved me a bunch of money. I will gladly continue to be a customer of this garage. Their work has always been solid and reliable. I wish I could express the same confidence in my local dealership.

My car needed some repairs and Girlington was able to fit me in the very next day. They diagnosed my issues and Ann gave me a call to explain what repairs needed done and the cost involved. My car did have some issues that required a follow-up repair and the staff were professional and timely in fixing the issue. Their staff are professional, honest, and upfront in explaining issues in a respectful and easy-to-understand manner. They treated me and my car with the utmost respect. I highly recommend them for any maintenance or repair work. I look forward to returning to them for future state inspections or any other maintenance work!

Took my car in for an inspection today and even with the recent added complications, it was a completely seamless visit. The online payment system was easy to use, and they even asked where I would like the keys and whether to leave the car locked or unlocked (which is a first for any service visit ever). Even without any in person interactions, it was clear that they are all on top of their stuff.

Burlington Garage is a good place to go if you want friendly service that will fix every problem in your car at a very high price. Highly not recommended for people who know anything about their own vehicle, or people who are cost sensitive.Before detailing my complaints, I will start with the positive. The staff was friendly, professional, and prompt. Customer service is 5*.My main complaint is that Girlington Garage is way overpriced. I have two stories:1)I took my car for an inspection. It failed because I needed new tires. They quoted me >$1000 for a set of 4 tires. I got a quote from another local business for the same tires for just over $500. Girlington garage would not price match, so I had to go pick up my car drive it to another shop to get tires. Then I had to bring it back to Girlington Garage for them to re-inspect my car, and got the privilege to pay for the re-inspection as well. Would have been much more convenient if they could have just gotten anywhere close on the price match.2) I had a BAD experience taking my car to have a wheel speed sensor replaced. I already knew that the wheel speed sensor was bad before I took it into the shop. Girlington Garage asked me to authorize a $250 diagnosis fee. I agreed ASSUMMING they had to take significant effort to diagnosis beyond what I had already disclosed. They called me to tell me that they did indeed need to use the entire $250 diagnosis fee and they concluded that the wheel speed sensor was broken. They quoted me 750 to replace the wheel speed sensor and bearing (other side of wheel speed sensor). They also said it was rusty so the quote had an additional $150 fee for dealing with the rust. I was irate that a) I had to pay $250 to diagnose a problem that I already told them about, b) the job was so expensive, and c) they were charging shop time for the job PLUS adding additional fees for rust. Girlington and I agreed that I would pay $100 for the diagnosis, and that I would take the car somewhere else. I took my car to Burlington Muffler and Brake. They charged $451 for everything - diagnosis, repair, and dealing with rust. LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE. There was no fuss. My wheel speed sensor works again and I still have enough money to buy my friends a beer :)

Had my car towed in with a low clutch because they were close by and AAA-recommended. Customer service was excellent. I got the call saying it was done in less than 24 hours (a day ahead of their estimate), and the bill was under budget. Would recommend, especially to AAA members.

They fixed my broken wheel right away and did a very good job. It was a complicated thing to do because a bolt had been destroyed when the wheel came off of my car.

This is a quality car repair place. They have a friendly comfortable waiting room with coffee and wifi. The staff are awesome and you get a cookie in your car... I mean how can you go wrong?!

I tried out the Girlington garage after hearing that they were local business contributors on VPR. I needed to have my car inspected.The whole experience was extremely pleasant. Scheduling was easy, I brought my car in, got it inspected in a reasonable time by the apprenticed mechanic, and left happy. The staff and owner are very friendly and we chatted while I waited for the work to be done.They seem to be very genuine folks who are interested in helping you out.

Simply the best! Scrupulous honesty, unfailing courtesy, cheerfulness, and mechanics as good as they get. And unlike the more typical garage atmosphere and waiting area, it is positively pleasant to hang out here, with comfy sofas and chairs in a big space, nice selection of beverages, clean bathroom, wifi, etc. Kind of a revolution in the whole concept of a garage. And as someone not exactly well-versed in cars and repairs, it’s wonderful to be able to relax and fully trust your garage to do the work needed as inexpensively as possible. An awesome place — I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

The state inspection at girlingon garage said that i needed new tires. I was given a few quotes and I went to get a second opinion. Not only did I find much cheaper tires (difference was over $200), but also found out that I did not need new tires to pass. I wasted time and $$.

We found Gurlington in desperation -- very hard to find anyone willing to work on a Smart Car, and there are not many dealers around. Gurlington was not only willing to look at the problem, source the parts, make the repair and then charge me LESS than I expected, but they were SUPER NICE about it, too!!! Even hid a pack of cookies in the car, which they vacuumed and washed! If you have a car issue anywhere near Burlington, Vt, you should give them a call! (And tell them Smart Car Dan -- that three letter word was CAR not A** -- sent ya!)

Its good service, as I had just bought the used car and it tipped me off to a couple issues I didnt know about.Pretty clean, nice waiting room and helpful staff. Give it a shot, if not just for an oil change.

My car was running sluggish these past few months when it started getting cold. I suspected it to just be spark plugs- but since they had been recently replaced I was suspicious if that was truly the issue. After getting the run around without any answers from the dealership in town as well as a private VW garage, I threw my hands up and called Girlington. They got me in within a timely manner and they diagnosed and fixed my issue, which was a damaged coil spring in my engine. When I had trouble again, they got me in the next day and gave the best service and advice anyone could ever ask for. These people truly have your best interest and your car’s best interest in mind. I could not thank Girlington enough for their professionalism, honesty and expertise.

I came because several workmates recommended this place when I asked where I should bring my care for a brake inspection. It was clean and welcoming and the woman at the front desk told me in millimeters (!) how much brake material I had left. She also told me the vibration I was feeling wasnt dangerous and I could wait to replace the brakes I thought were bad. I went in expecting to have to pay hundreds of dollars and instead it cost me $25 to find out they just put cheap brakes on my car when it was new! Then I got a little cake from a bakery when I got in my care. Ill be back.

Have been through a few garages in Burlington with my VW, and this place is consistently the best. Fair prices, prompt service, and excellent, friendly staff. They do the work right the first time, without cutting corners or heckling me for additional services. When I need it, theyll break down the need now versus the can waits...Overall, just good people.

I have never been treated with more respect at an auto repair shop. And not only did I appreciate the clean, comfy atmosphere, I was truly impressed by the attention to detail. Demeny and crew clearly communicated to me the repair options available to me without making me feel like a clueless consumer. I have been going to Girlington Garage for a few years now for my husbands and my car. The service there is wonderful! They take the time to diagnose issues that would otherwise go undetected, show you what is wrong with your car so you know what is getting replaced and why. Also, in response to the comment about there being no coffee, they will make you coffee if the carafe is empty! They even offered to make me decaf one day! I have never had a problem with any of the prices or repairs I have had done there. People who are getting different prices may be going to mechanics that use refurbished parts rather than new parts.

I really REALLY wanted to love this place, I love their image and reviews looked great, I even had a friend recommend it to me. But I cant love it. I bought a used car a year ago, and wanted to make this my go-to service and repair shop. My first oil change went off without a hitch, minus waiting 15 minutes for another patron to arrive for the shuttle service. No big deal, except when I was literally 2 minutes late for my next oil change the shuttle left without me, forcing me to reschedule.The thing that lost me is when I brought my car in to diagnose a noise I was hearing over the summer. Diagnosis wasnt cheap at $105. I was told with parts and labor the repair would cost and additional $476, but it wasnt hazardous, so I let it go for a while.In the meantime, I have had inspection done for $15 (with a coupon) at another shop, which was also able to diagnose the same problem without me even mentioning it. I didnt have it quoted there, but when I took my car to the OEM dealership this morning for a 90k service, they noted the same problem and quoted me parts and labor at less than HALF of what Girlington wanted. Really sad to say, but Id just be an idiot to go back there at this point. Lesson learned.***UPDATE*** Girlington gave me a refund for overcharging me on the diagnosis, and sent me some vouchers to use at the garage. Nice gesture, but I wont return.

They were SO NICE. But Im never going back. Went in for new tires, oil change and inspection. They broke my TMPS (tire pressure monitoring system) sensor, and while they replaced it for free, of course they didnt have one in stock and I had to go back another time while they fixed it. And it wasnt just me- they broke another customers door latch while I was waiting. Which they also fixed for free, which he also had to come back for. Furthermore, my tail light (LED) was broken and wouldnt pass inspection, but since it wasnt just a bulb and that issue wasnt part of my original appointment, they didnt take the time to figure out why it was broken (broken switch, nothing wrong with the bulb, according to the dealer who covered it under warranty), just asked that I come back another time. Ill reiterate that they were SUPER nice about the whole thing, but it doesnt make up for incompetence. And a free vacuuming and candy on the instrument panel doesnt make up for incompetence, either. Sorry guys. I wish you hit all the bases.

They are AMAZING! Totally up front about cost, time to fix, and likelihood of success. We brought our car in with some transmission issues. They took the time to evaluate the problem and gave us options about the repair from a re-build, a flush and pray, or what we ended up doing which was nothing more than adding fluid enough to get us home and making a a call to the junk yard.

I love this place- I used another local mechanic for years with good, reliable, honest service. I tried Girlington mostly because it sounded like a good place. My old car was old and breaking down in a lot of ways- they were fantastic about not only fixing problems, but also explaining things in a way I could understand. I just brought my new car in for an inspection and upon my request, they gladly let me come into the garage while they did the inspection to show me around the car. They showed me what had been fixed before, explained everything in a way I could understand and pointed out things that were both in good condition as well as things that may need repairs soon. They also showed me exactly why a certain repair had to be made.I highly recommend this establishment and can only assume that the very few negative reviews are from individuals who had isolated bad experiences- certainly not Girlingtons norm!

If I lived in Vermont, this is where I would take my vehicle.I was traveling from out of town with a vehicle whose company is no longer (Saab). After a couple failed attempts at starting my car, I had it towed to this garage. The quickly diagnosed the problem (bad starter), had a dealer part overnightd, and had the repair complete as expected.I returned the next day because my brake light was on. Apparently a bleeder valve was not tightened all the way from a prior service with my mechanic at home. They took me in without an appointment and remedied this problem while I waited.As a father of three girls, I could appreciate the vibe of the shop.

Being new in town I had originally brought my wifes Camry to Noyes automotive for its 90,000 mile check up, fix an issue with a rear tire, and get winter tires. Noyes managed to skip the last two issues so we decided to bring it to Girlington Garage. They had very friendly customer service and completed both of the tasks we had asked for. Now that winter is passed, I called them to set up an appointment to get the winter tires taken off and order two new tires. On 5/12/14 Donna took my call, looked up my wifes information and explained that she would have to order the two tires and would set me up for an appointment for the following Thursday the 22nd due to them being so busy. Before dropping off the vehicle I decided to call the day before to confirm the appointment and to be clear what was being done on the vehicle. They had no record of the appointment, said the tires that were ordered came in the 12th (the day I actually ordered them), claimed they must have called my wife but never got a hold of her so they sent the tires back. When I asked them what we should do from here, they said that they were really busy and suggested I try another garage. Ill chalk this experience up to the fact they are busy and scheduling mistakes happen. Ill probably take their advice and start shopping for my 3rd auto garage in the area

I think the girlington garage is a very organic concept. I would be a supporter of any local buisenss that makes a stand against a franchise or chain!! I have been using OILNGO since 1996 and they have done all of my auto service from Mobil#1 to Brakes and oh yahh my winter tires. So if girlington is going to make the same effort as OILNGO everyday to make a difference than they will be very successful......

They have been talking care of my vehicles for a while. Good People!
