While I generally enjoy my shopping experience at this location, I feel the company should be mindful about who they hire to bag the groceries. I have no issues with anyone having a job as long as they can perform that job effectively. While Im no prude, using excessive profanity at the checkout and throwing purchased items in the bags and sometimes bagging improperly (putting heavy items in with bread and not separating raw meat), makes for an unpleasant experience.

Was able to find everything we needed and get it. They got new display cases near the meat department. Only complaint is lack of variety for certain items(diet pops) and they rotate which muffins they put out for the blueberry and chocolate, but always have out the banana nut one that I dont like(not their fault). Other than those things the shopping experience isnt bad.

Clean well stocked store including sale items. The employees especially in the freezer section are always very busy stocking, are very pleasant and provide excellent customer service. Highly recommend this store.

I love this Kroger! I have to admit-- the best part is pushing your cart through a smooth parking lot! They never have long lines & if they do... They always open more registers! My favorite part of the store is the floral area. I love that I can buy babies breath sperate and the selection is always beautiful, fresh, and flat out perfect!

Wild idea that you guys apparently couldn’t figure out on your own. If you put more things to put away shopping carts closer to the entrance where most people park, so people put them away, they wouldn’t be FLYING and DAMAGING peoples cars when it’s windy. Crazy. i know.

If I can give a 0 star, I will. Terrible experience with Southgate Kroger. I got a recall notice on my recent receipt for frozen shrimps and went to return the package next morning. I didnt know the return center does not open until 8am. I heard somebody inside but no one want to come out for service. I took the package with me for shopping and came back for return. The service lady Cathy was having terrible attitude. First, she told me my package was not on the dates. Then why you print out the recall on my recent receipt? Then she told me that Kroger is not like Meijer, do not have customers purchase history.--really, I can view the history when I logged in my online account. The whole process was terrible and she treated me like a piece of rag. Then I went to check out, the cashier Annette must be Cathys good friend, giving me strong attitude. She acted like I owned her money or something. She also said the store credit I got is not even 10 minutes, not activated yet. At that point, I have decided never going to that store again. What a terrible morning to start!

Regards to grocery pickup…love this convenient way to shop. I never have problems. I do have 2 complaints…. Those big smelly bags are terrible… they are too heavy and things fall out. I also had a complaint about not getting a receipt. Recently, however, they started emailing me a receipt afterwards…. Which I really appreciate all in all a very good shopping experience

I used to love this krogers but now I do not there is no reason why all the self check outs need to be closed down and the lines are all the way to the back of the store I think this is totally ridiculous and the problem needs to resolve.

STAFF are not happy with their work and it shows. Three strikes your out...this is the 3rd time I have tried to get food at the delli or fish from the counter...I actually timed it today took 15 minutes for the guy to stop washing dishes and actually say hello.. last time I waited to get chicken finally left without and went across the street to Meyers...from. now on I am starting at Meyers. And please the we are low staffed does not work I am a nurse we have worked short staffed for 20 years

Store is clean and nice but a lot of the staff are terrible. It’s not just the pandemic, They have always been terrible and the bottle room is constantly closed my husband has been there days in a row and they are always “waiting for bins”

I am not one to complain, as I have worked in customer service, & dealt with busy work places, but seeing as I have been majorly inconvenienced on multiple occasions with this locations click list, I feel compelled to let others know.Today I put my order in around 11am on my lunch break, I set my pick up time for 7-8pm, I arrived around 6:45 & saw they were busy, no problem, I do bot mind waiting, pulled into my spot at 7 & checked in, after seeing multiple cars that arrived after me get their orders I called again (it is now 7:50) I was told that an automatic message was sent to my phone & that I’d have to wait another 40 minutes, the only message I received today told me my order would be ready at the time I had set, I was aggravated at this point, because, like most people I had other things to do, so after waisting my gas & sitting there for an hour I now have to go back tomorrow after work to hopefully pick up my groceries.I have had this happen twice before, have had over half of my order forgotten twice, & will not be returning to this location. I would not be using this service if I had the time to go into the store & get my groceries myself. 8 hours should give a team more than enough time to get an order together & ready.

I think this is the largest Kroger store in Michigan. You can buy clothes in this store they also have a credit union inside a kiosk machine for the Secretary of State sushi restaurant Deli other little restaurant for hot food but sometimes that checkout lines are very long

This store is spacious and clean it has a great selection of Meat and Deli selections. They will fry your fish for you so you can take it home for dinner. They have a wonderful home section toy section really nice clothes and shoes. This Kroger is top-notch theres a fuel station outside as well and if you want your groceries delivered they will do that too

Do not buy toys or clothes items at this store if you think you may need to return. Apparently enacted a 15-day return policy relatively recently - Will not allow me to return items I purchased for Christmas and changed my mind on, as everyone does, 17 days ago. Spoke to a manager and they said I had to call corporate? Unbelievable. Ill just shop elsewhere.

Nice clean store... little expensive on some items... great deli selection... scooters are never fully charged.. every time I come I get stuck in the store with a dead battery 🔋.

Wow. Kroger Marketplace is huge. Auto cleaning supplies. Clothing too. Not sure if the space comes across in the pictures but it’s not your average updated Kroger.

Long line to check out. 3 check out people and the self check out with only 7 open. They have 6 self check out that can be open, but only to save a dollar is what Kroger cares about only. WTH get people.

They open at 6 a.m. thats when I go. Those who are restocking are willing to help if you are looking for something. I can find everything I am looking for.

Over the last 6 months I have had issues with the worker Shellie that works customer service. I will hand her a stack of 5 to 7 MI lottery bet slips and manages to somehow to not put one of the slips in and run another twice almost every time. It should NOT take me this long to get through the line. Im not even sure how she manages to screw it up this isnt the first time like I said. Rediculous.

Kroger almost always has everything I need. It’s a rare occasion that they are out of something. The staff will actually go back and look for the item you need if it’s not stocked on the shelf. I’ve know the staff to be very professional and friendly. The deli, great selections, and again, outstanding customer service!! I’m so thankful that this Kroger is near my home. I was getting tired of paying the pumped up prices at the other chain grocery stores in the area!!!One more thing, I love the home decor items you offer. If you ever stop through this location, hopefully you are helped by a woman named Laverne. She was so sweet in assisting me with my purchases at the check out. I had trouble with getting a plastic tag off my hoodie that she helped with as well. Such a great personality and kind heart. She made my day a little brighter with her quick and efficient help. I will most definitely be back because of Laverne. 💓

I love how I can go down the center aisle and let me look both ways to read the signs, which then are not so far apart. It’s easier on me with cataracts and vision problems. Everyone has always been helpful and will go ahead of me in amigo to find what I am looking for. .THANK YOU!! I Would love to see store expanded into more ‘home’ items like other Marketplaces.

I hate krotgoer

Kroger has on their app cash back . you load to your card. Somehow my card always shows zero accumulation. Each visit that I ask a cashier about this. They have no idea what I am talking about...happened again. Showed it on my phone to the young man this visit....he said...hmm I have no idea. Showed no incentive to find anybody who did know.....originally when I asked how this worked. Service desk told me. Let cashier no you want your cash back applied to your card.....Think there is a problem.

This new location is an excellent upgrade to an already great store. Kroger has expanded its floor space allowing for more stock as well as new products! Besides the usual groceries they have added a selection of soft lines ranging from blankets to jackets with plenty of room for seasonal merchandise. All in all a great place to shop for daily needs and all the last minute things you forgot about. 5 Stars for sure

Ever since they opened this place it is a great alternative to Meijer. The pickup option is very good, though you might want to pick your own produce. I still havent had perfect luck with getting fruits and veggies that last the whole week. The prices are decent and the Kroger card is irreplaceable.

Meat had price of $3.79 in front of it but was charged $5.49 per lb. Not cool.

Love the Click List service! Workers are friendly and professional and Im always happy with my order. I will occasionally get items I ordered subbed, but Im OK with this and you can choose to not allow substitutions. I highly recommend this service for busy people with not a lot of time to shop, families with young kids, or people who arent fans of crowded stores. For me, its worth the $4.95 fee, which usually balances out with all the digital coupons!

This is a Great store. The last time I was there I ventured into the department store part of the store. This time I only hit the grocery.A quick stop at the deli for a sushi sample, and then a great selection of the to go sushi. Both times very good.The produce dept is Awesome, lots of choices.Fresh stocked continuously.I like how the isles are set up, wide, open, & very clean.I will definitely go back there again.

They dont like to hire human cashiers. They expect their customers to scan & bag their own items for free. Either pay us a wage for the work we do or offer a discount on our bill. Greedy companies

Cashiers are rude...I dont mind bagging my stuff but dont leave me hanging with completing the task..and to add insult..toss the rest of it at me as they walk away to ring up the next customer...I have stopped shopping at Kroger because of the complaint I hear from them as they ring me up...no personable or welcoming attitude

I am disappointed with the manager who was working this evening at this location. My husband went in to buy 5 turkeys for our church’s Thanksgiving baskets. He chose Kroger because they had the best deal, making it possible for us to help more families. The limit for the deal was 2, but in the past a manager was always willing to override the limit. This particular manager scoffed at the very idea and refused to do it. Is there a black market for turkeys I don’t know about?

This store is far more interested in finding reasons to close than reasons to serve their customers. The employees run around telling people that theyre closing around 11:30pm, not just one or two employees but EVERY one of them that you pass as your shopping. I have never seen a business thats in such a hurry to get people out!!!

I love shopping here! I utilize both the weekly sales and the coupons in the app and save a ton. On one trip, I got $30 worth of groceries but only paid $8. Wow! Plus, there is a great selection of both basic items and gourmet. The store is always clean, staff friendly. And there is a very relaxed vibe that makes shopping here a pleasant experience.

I was upset when I first heard they were moving (the old location was so convenient in relation to my home) but I love this new Kroger! So much better!! It’s clean, the people are friendly, and they have so much more now. The only thing that would make it better is... you guessed it- a Starbucks! 😁😁

I love to shop... and I love this store... the associates are friendly, they got out of their way to take care of you. The sushi bar is awesome. I lived in Japan for 10 years.. their sushi top notch. I pick it up ever few days, fresh, tasty and I love the way the guys greet you at the sushi bar... they are very knowledgeable about their product. They encourage you to try it. It will take some time to learn the store but thats with any thing new. Love love love this store

My daughter had left her wristlet there on Monday. All of her identification, money and cards were out of her sight for two days.When I spoke to Michelle in customer service, she was gracious and kind. She said it was my daughters lucky day. Everything was intact.The staff is top notch, the store is well laid out with wide aisles.Ill definitely be returning.

My daughter and myself just used the Kroger online order and pick up unfortunately I forgot to tip. I felt awful because the man that brought our groceries and loaded our trunk was so kind as we sat in the car, called the store to try and add tip on card, they said it couldn’t be added, it was fine though, it wasn’t expected, tip next time if we wish, friendly phone voice reassured me, it’s okay thank you for shopping with them. The absolute best service, even with a face mask, smiling eyes in hard times. !!!! Use Southgate Kroger... order on line..charge your card.... pick up at store lot ... we did Sunday April 18th..great employees this afternoon.....arrive then call from cell phone the number listed at pick up parking area ... friendly phone voice confirms your name and sends a friendly Kroger worker out .. he loads it into your car with excellent prompt friendly service ... as I the customer waits in car. Great efficient safe set up!!! Great job Kroger’s, I will let everyone I know in on this great tip during this challenging time !

I enjoyed my visit. The store itself was clean, big and spacious. They had a nice area for eating, the only thing was the deli where you get the hot food at the chicken winget wasnt fresh or hot. I like the idea theyre trying new things, price might be a little high, but I like it.

Clean, well stocked but the lines at the register are long and there are never baggers. I do personal shopping for others so sometimes I am in there 5-10 times a day, never a bagger for me. Ill pick a line with one and by the time I get up there they disappear.

I just brought a cake for my son for his 8th birthday today! They did an amazing job!! I mean it was beautiful! It tasted amazing also! It wasnt very sweet just right! Thank you to whomever made this day so much more special for my baby!!

This is probably the nicest supermarket Ive ever been to. The selection is amazing and they have everything. I was very impressed with the deli. The selection of Boars Head products is one of the best in the area. This Kroger has spoiled me to the point my local Kroger is not going to seem on par with it from now on.

In my opinion this is best Kroger in the Downriver area. Clean, well-stocked, wide aisles, the latest Kroger innovations, friendly staff. I go out of my way weekly to shop at this store. You wont be disappointed if you havent tried it yet.

Its nice because its new. Produce looked the same as any other Kroger. Very big. I felt lost. Wont be my go to store. I was in the area and wanted to check it out.

They have the best selection of fresh produce they stand by their products. I recently went here and enjoy the wide variety of unique products they sell. If you love sea food, there fish counter offers free sea food frying on the spot. You pick your own batter flavoring and its ready for you to eat in the nice cafe section or to take home. Highly recommend shopping here!

This Kroger is clean and well light. It is generally stocked up except produce can run low on some items. The staff are friendly and available more than most stores. They do have several electric carts/Amigos but the batteries tend to suddenly go from full on the indicator screen to drained in a second leaving you short on the warning it is going to quit working.

Great Kroger. Awesome selection. Well layed out. Attentive workers. Would have been 5 stars but the cashier had to bag peoples groceries. I have limited patience when doing any kind of shopping and when I have to wait unnecessarily it bothers me.

Electric buggies are not much, every time I go in there I dont get but the cooler and maybe a isle until it goes dead got wait on a worker to go past and I ask them to go get me another one, I generally go through at least before I get through the store. Need to try and get better ones. Check out the brand name of Walmarts. I like to shop at Krogers but with my medical condition dont know how much longer I can do this.

Today was good. Id give a 5 star but there were only 3 lanes opens. And the wait was approx minutes to get up the the check. Plus the bagger is horrible . Putting raw chicken with lunch meat (really?) but otherwise okay.

I live by the Lincoln Park Kroger. However, once Kroger Marketplace opened I drive the extra distance to go there. Parking is better, store is brighter and the sales associates, cashier and everyone are super friendly.

Good, just a bit farther than Im used to going, the old Kroger was only two minutes away. But its fine the people that work there for the most part are supper nice, especially the Pharmacy. The two pharmacist that are full time are so great and they are very helpful. BROVO to them.!!!!

I could literally spend hrs in there, they have everything! Im vegan and they had everything I needed. Somethings were a bit overpriced but its to be expected when trying to eat healthy. But everyone is nice and helpful.

Nice and clean, the only thing I did not like is the isles are staggered between the front and back of store so you can not see down the whole isle with out going right or left in their center cross isles. Makes finding things and reading all the isles signs difficult. does not make navigating or shopping fun but tedious

T bone Stake was on sale for 7.99 per pound. Sold in packages of 4 at the price of $40 to $50 each. The steaks are cut at 3 inches and look like a roast. I asked if I could get a normal cut but the same size package $40 to $50 and was told no it would be 14.99 a pound. In addition all of their products are way overpriced. Kroger Brand products are priced like name brand products at other grocery stores. And the meat department smells like rotten fish.

Good parking. Male Cashier was very nice. Ladies restroom was dirty and no seat covers, very dark decor. Organic celery looks hideous (small, flimsy stalks). Avocado on sale for .69 cents but these were too ripe, verge of overripe.Visit was on June 21, 2018.3rd time to this store, other visits were good. I would go back, somewhat good variety.

Chuck my nephew who is 17 here he wanted to get some flowers and candy for his girlfriend we went to the flower area and the person she was a older woman was amazing she did an amazing beautiful job on the flowers and was just the kindest person it was a joy to talk with her she then took him to find the candies that he was looking for and put a beautiful Bowl around them also fantastic help thank you

I love this Kroger. Its clean, they have excellent customer service, the people are very friendly, their prices are great, and last but not least their hot food is so good.

10 people in line at each register and only half registers open
